To develop a kind of ideal sealing material, uniform experiments were conducted in a simulation test device after the determination of material composition and approximate ratio range. The experimental data was fitted by stepwise regression analysis and optimal mixture ratio was obtained. The reliability is perfect when the ratio of foaming agent FP, foam stabilizer WP, solid filler RX and solid filler GX is 1.5:2:3:3. Field application tests show that sealing material in the above ratio has advantages of less time waste, higher reliability and better adaptability. It has a wide application pr

Abstract The objective of this paper is to present technical specifications of a logging tool where it can identify the well integrity system failure due to various scenarios including: communication between Borehole and Tubing-Casing Annulus, or TCA (A-annulus) through one of the completion elements; leak of the tubing itself; communication between TCA and the 1st Casing-Casing Annulus, or CCA1 (B-Annulus); and communication between CCA1 and the 2nd Casing-Casing Annulus, or CCA2 (C-annulus), when the movement of unwanted fluid happened through the casing leaks. Abstract:
In slow formation borehole acoustic wireline logging (WL) and logging while drilling (LWD), it is common to obtain formation shear slowness from the dispersive borehole guided flexural and quadrupole wave, respectively. Due to poor signal-to-noise ratio and/or tool eccentricity effects, it is not always possible to obtain formation shear slowness directly via conventional slowness-time-coherency (STC) methods. Consequently, a dispersion correction is frequently needed to QC and/or correct the STC result. We propose a hybrid method that allows for a model-based as well as a phenomenon-based app

Abstract:
The shallow aquifer in the Fox Creek area is hosted by the Paleocene Paskapoo Formation. The formation consists of fluvial deposits with channel-filled high-energy sandstone cutting through fine-grained, low energy overbank sediments. Three internal members are recognized, these members define three hydrostratigraphic units (two aquifers versus one aquitard). In fall 2022, three boreholes were drilled and cored. The succession is slightly dominated by sandstone with subordinate fine-grained sediments and thin coal intervals. The calcareous to non-calcareous sandstone is either tight and well c

The Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Library (OGSRL) is a repository for data from wells licenced under the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act for Ontario. It has approximately 50,000 porosity and permeability drill core analyses on bedrock cores. It also has in analogue format, geophysical logs (e.g., gamma ray, gamma-gamma density, neutron, sonic) from approximately 20,000 wells. A significant challenge for geotechnical and hydrogeological studies of the region is the accessibility of digital data on porosity and permeability. Recent work completed on approximately 12,000 core analyses for the Silur
