Abstract:
Background: A part of the anthropometry that measures and studies the dimensions of the head and the faces is called cephalometric, the results of which are used in various medical branches. The standard of this measurement is different in each country because different racial factors and geographic impact on it, so the values obtained by researchers in other countries cannot be a criterion for determining the normal growth of head in other countries. The aim of this study was to determine the head standard index and the prevalence of head anatomic types in children younger than 6 years old in

Abstract:
To evaluate the protective effect of rhinoplasty with diode laser on the cardiovascular system and in the reduction of the inflammatory state, CK-MB and PCR measurements were performed before and 30 days after the surgical procedure. Rhinoplasty using the diode laser promoted a significant reduction in plasma CK-MB and PCR levels, 30 days after its completion. No association was found between the pre-surgical plasma concentration of CK-MB and CRP and the degree of stenosis of the nostrils, race, age, sex and weight of the animals. A significant reduction in CK-MB was observed in dogs with seve

ABSTRACT The aim of the present paper is to deal with the relationship between literary criticism and anatomy. To be more precise it will discuss one of Henric Sanielevici’s theories, according to which the literary text can only be understood by taking into account the colour of the eyes, the conformation of teeth and size and the shape of the author’s skull.

Surgical accesses through the middle cranial fossa (MCF) and their variations require the surgeons a detailed understanding of a complex anatomy of this site of the inner base of the skull (IBS) and an individual anatomical variability of the anatomical landmarks often used in their medical practice. The aim of this study is to establish individual anatomical variability of the longitudinal dimensions of MCF of mature age human. The research was carried out by studying 50 craniotomograms and 50 bone preparations of mature age human skulls with their further subdivision to extreme types of skul

Abstract Background: Craniosynostosis, the premature fusion of 1 or more sutures of the skull, is a common congenital defect, with a prevalence of 1 in 2500 live births. Untreated progressive craniosynostosis leads to inhibition of brain growth and increased intracranial and intraorbital pressure. The heterogeneity of clinical phenotypes and the overlap of the various associated syndromes render the correct diagnosis of the different craniosynostoses particularly difficult. Methods: To identify 10 common mutations in the genes for fibroblast growth factor receptors 2 and 3 (FGFR2 and FGFR3), w

Objective: Arteriovenous fistulas are a principal mainstay of long-term dialysis access for patients with end stage renal failure. However, the patency of arteriovenous fistulas is limited, often requiring percutaneous transluminal angioplasty as a salvage procedure. We report a case of percutaneous method of arteriovenous fistula salvage. Methods: A gentleman with brachiocephalic arteriovenous fistula created in 2015 was admitted under us for dialysis access issue. His fistula history was notable for recurrent and refractory venous outflow stenosis of the cephalic vein and the cephalic arch w
