Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan. It is forty-two percent of the total area of Pakistan. However, the population of Balochistan is the lowest. It is 6.5 million; Balochistan is a multi linguistic province. Many languages are spoken and written. There are important among the Brahui, Balochi and Pashto. Balochi and Brahui have many common words. Brahui is considered the oldest language spoken in Balochistan. According to famous Russian Scholar Uri: Genko Vsky, it is an old as 3000 B.C. the Brahuis came earlier then Baloch from Alburz, and settled in central Balochistan. The original Brahuis are Mirwanis, Qambranis, Gurganaris, Sumalanies, Qalandranis, Rodains and Zagar Mengales, Ahmed Zais are basically decendents of Qambranies these tribs are sons of Miro Mirwani. The other tribes who speak Brahui mengles with Brahuis and formed a confederacy. The Brahui language spoken in sarawan, jhalawan Chagai, Noshki and Kachi, some parts of Sindh and Afghanistan.

There have been effects of Persian language on Brahui language and literature like the other languages of subcontinent. Due to being state language, all kinds of orders, religious decisions and documents were written in Persian. In orders to explain these things to Brahuis, there has been need of translation from the very first day. The thoughts of a language can be transferred into the other language through translation which causes the language develop. Therefore, we can find that the old and available books of Brahui to have been translated from Persian like Tofat-ul-ajaib etc. This series continued till establishment of Pakistan, later it grew quiet lesser. However, scholars, now-a-days, are also translating curriculum books of madressas into Brahui, one of these translators is also Maulvi Abdul Khalique Ababaki who has done poetic and prosed / versified Brahui translation of about a dozens of Persian books, out of which Bagh-e-Brahui, Panth Nama, Ramuzath-e-Ishq, Manajath-e-Allama Roomi and Aadenk are very famous. The above mentioned scholar had thorough mastery over all the rules and regulations of translating. Moreover, he himself was an experienced teacher, poet and translator of Brahui and Persian language. That's why his translation, among Persian translation, in Brahui literature, holds immense importance. Some of his translation is still unprinted which includes Waslet Nama, Wahdat Nama and Phul-e-Brahui.

The purpose of this research article is to investigate the literary development of Brahui Language in Sindh because a great Number of Brahui People resides in the different parts of Sindh. They had produced poetry and prose in their language. They are still creating Brahui Literature. Their contribution in the development of Brahui literature is enormous in this respect. In addition, Non Brahui Sindhi poets and prose writers also came under the influence of Brahui literature. Therefore, they also contributed to it. For example: Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Sachal Sarmast, and others were influenced by Brahui and used Brahui words and lines in their Sindhi poetry. Maulana Muhammad Omer Dinpoori's Madersa-Islamia Brahuia Dinpoori Shikarpur Sindh enriched Brahui Literature with Islamic Thoughts, rules and Traditions. The researcher attempts to trace historical development of Brahui literature in this ongoing research study.

This research paper discusses the four stages of Brahui script. Even though, the literary work in Brahuii language has been started since 1292 ? when “Khidmat e Deen’’ was published. But it is interesting to note here that instead of this huge historical gap, Brahui orthography has not been standardized. The influence powerful and regional languages have always influenced the writing style of Brahui Script. Till the end of Durkhani school of thought, influx of Arabic Alphabets brought the Arabic script for Brahui. Roman, Persian and new Roman was introduced for Brahui script in subsequent period. The main objective of this research paper is to show and identify the orthographical dilemma in Brahui and It further shows the analyses of deferent borrowing scripts and their phases. Two or three samples of each phase have been taken out for conducting this research. Finally, this paper ends with the result and conclusion that adoption of others scripts can create writing problem in future as well.

Brahui a North Proto Dravidian (NPD) language spoken about 2000 km far from other Sourth Dravidian languages (SPD) in South India i.e. Tamil, Talgu, Malyalam, Kanada, Gondi etc and Central Proto Dravidian (CPD) languages in the Central India i.e. Karukh and Malto by about two million people. It is spoken in the central parts of Balochistan, interior Sindh province in Pakistan and in the Sistan o Balochistan province of Iran, Helmund and Nimroz provinces of Afghanistan, Gulf States, and also there are few families have still preserved. Brahui in Mari province of Turkmenistan. In compare with the other nonliterary tribal dialects of Dravidian languages Brahui is enjoying a worth mentioning literary status in Balochistan-Pakistan. The past history of Brahui language is witnessed that it has been used only as an oral language till post-colonial period in Balochistan. There was no tradition of using Brahui as medium of instruction or in writing, although some works in Brahui had appeared before then, the Brahui literary movement started in the reign of Khan Naseer Khan in the 18th century but a standard literary movement started only after the 1950 when some newspapers including “Muhalim Quetta”, “Balochi Karachi” started publishing in Brahui besides Balochi in Pakistan. While weekly “Elum” Mastung a Brahui-Urdu newspaper was a revolutionary addition in the history of Brahui journalism and learning.

Brahui is one of the oldest languages of the Sub-continent and Brahui speaking people are found in Balochistan, Sindh, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Iran. Some researchers claim that Brahui is an Aryan language others assert that it is a Turko-Iranian language. Another group of intellectuals also emphasize that the traces of Brahui language have been found in the remainants of Mohenjo Daro and it has Dravidian origin and same language is being spoken in some parts of India and Sri Lanka. According to some historians Brahui’s and Baloch’s belong to same race. Balochi speaking people entered Mekran while Brahui speaking people entered from Chagai as they defeated the Dravidian rulers of Kalat and entered into matrimonial relationship with the Dravidian and Balochi languages were mixed up and a new language of “Brahui” was born due to same relationship. According to reports about four million peoples of the above countries and regions speaks Brahui language. Languages are vehicles of our cultures, collective memory and values. They are an essential component of our identities, and a building block of our diversity and living heritage. Globalized economics and media are altering the face of culture around the globe, reducing the number of languages that human’s converse. As the world economy becomes more integrated, a common tongue has become more important than ever to promote commerce, and that puts speakers of regional dialects and minority languages at a distinct disadvantage. In addition, information technology has pressured languages to become more standardized, further squeezing local variations of language. These pressures are inducing a rapid die-off of languages around the world. UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger declaring that Brahui is vulnerable language. A small scale print and electronic media are playing important role in the promotion of Brahui language but have no ample capacity to stop the invasion of globalization. Surveys and research finding are also shows that many Brahui words, names of boys, girls, days, relationships, terminologies, names of food items were replaced by the words of the other dominant languages of electronic media.

This article introduces research work in Brahui linguistics, especially in phonetics and phonology. While speaking in to Brahui languages it has been noted that there are several areas and verity in Brahui language that speakers change the sound or vice or they used code switching in their language. This paper focused too highlights those causes which are caused to making code switching. It based on personal experience and dialectal study of Brahui language. It shares the findings that people change those sounds, voices or words which have been borrowed from other languages, like, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and etc. this paper discus that it is good singe that in huge number sound changing have found in Brahui other than neighboring languages in Balochistan. It ends with this formula that Brahui language has a strong syntax and semantics variation that doesn't accept new and other language words in a jiffy. Any word found code switched or sound changed it reflects it is not Brahui originate sound or word. it has been found that the ratio of code switching and sound changing is high in non-literate persons then the literates which can be illustrated in verbal language and in written language.

According to UNESCO 2008 report, 2500 languages are endangered in the world, 27 of them exist in Pakistan. Brahui language is also one of them. In this research paper it would be try to shed some spotlight on the real status of Brahui language, whether the Brahui language is endangered or it is still safe. According to UNESCO report the cause of endangerment of Brahui language is because of the less speakers but at the same time it is interesting to note here that Brahui speakers are present from Balochistan to Afghanistan? Iran and Turkmenistan. The real cause of endangerment of the Brahui language will be tried to evaluate in this article.

This research aims to compare the attitudes of Balochistan’s youth towards indigenous language i.e. Brahui in comparison to Urdu and English. It explores instrumental and integrative motivations of participants towards these languages. The study adopted quantitative paradigm, a questionnaire as a research instrument. The data was collected from 90 participants of Brahui speakers. The data was analyzed by the SPSS program through frequency and mean analysis. The study concludes that participants’ attitudes were positive towards English language, neutral to Urdu language and negative towards Brahui language. The participants showed highly positive (instrumental and integrative) motivation towards Brahui vs Urdu languages. This study also determines other dominant languages spoken in Balochistan that are Balochi and Pashto. Keywords: Language attitude, Indigenous language, instrumental motivation, integrative motivation.

Verb also has as much importance in Brahui language as in other languages of the world. Verb is a word class, traditionally defined as a 'doing' or 'action' word, which ends with "ing" in Brahui language. It is used as singular like "Makhing" (To laugh), if the second syllable "ing" is omitted, then "makh" (laugh.) remains, which clearly is used as imperative. By adding suffix or infix with imperative, interrogative and negative forms can be made. Verb is the reason of enhancement of Brahui dictionary. Due to the importance and status of verb in Brahui language, its linguistic and research study has been conducted with reference to Brahui grammar.

Brahui language has its own uniqueness and value as it is one of the oldest languages of Pakistan and considered as a Dravidian language. The purpose of this study was to explore the perception of future Brahui speaking teachers about mother tongue education in Brahui language at primary level in Balochistan. In this study, a qualitative approach was used. The research design was case study and site of the study was Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University Quetta. Semi-structure interviews were conducted from the Brahui speaking future teachers of B.Ed. (Hons.) 7th semester (5), M.A Education 3rd semester (5) and M.Phil. (5). The participants were selected through purposive sampling. Thematic analysis was used as method for data analysis. The data analysis revealed two main themes as need of Brahui mother tongue education in Brahui majority schools and teacher training for Brahui mother tongue education.

This article shares the basic and primary information about the translated literature in Brahui language. It reveals that before Brahui fiction the translation has played its vital role to strengthen the Brahui literature. Basic religious knowledge has been translated in to Brahui language. Translation has been promoted in large scale in period of Maktaba. This article informs that the subject of translation has observed in old and modern Brahui literature. In modern literature the requirements of translation are different than the old one. Now the fiction and short stories of world's well-known writers are being translated in Brahui. Which increased the importance of translation in literature and translation is being taught as a separate subject in Brahui. Descriptive study has been adopted for this article finally it ends with the justified and fruitful recommendations that translator must aware from source and targeted languages, their formations, language structure and grammar.

The Brahui language has many sound changing letters in its sounds too. This article argued somewhere new terms may create difficulty for language.

The present article aims to discuss one of the important grammar topics named “word formation” in the Brahui language of Rudbar-Jonub. Brahui, as a non-Iranian language, has gone through a long distance and settled in Iran, chiefly in Sistan and Balochistan, and Kerman. Based on the oral literature and the words of local informants, a group of Brahui people entered Sistan and Balochistan province in Iran from the borders of Pakistan in the last 400 years and mostly settled in Zahedan, Zabol, Iranshahr, and Khash. About 200 years ago, a group of them entered the south of Kerman province from the common borders of Sistan and Balochistan with Kerman and settled in Rudbar-Jonub county; many of them speak four languages: Balochi, Brahui, Rudbari, and standard Persian (Sheybanifard, 2018). The Brahui language of Rudbar-Jonub, which has less than 1000 speakers, is more vulnerable and in danger of death than other Brahui languages in other parts of the world. Also, the contact of Brahui with other languages such as Persian and Baluchi as well as local dialects such as Rudbari and the increasing use of standard Persian by its speakers, especially in the young generation, has increased the distance of Brahui spoken in Iran from its original region. One of the other most important grammar features in this language which has also affected the word formation is the existence of four diphthongs two of them /ie/ and /ue/ belong to the Rudbari dialect. The data were gathered by direct observation, through interviews with male and female speakers; from different age groups and educational levels, recording of their speeches, and videos. The purpose of this article is to describe “the Word Formation structure” in this language. Words in Brahui of Rudbari, are divided into three groups in terms of derivational construction: 1- simple, 2- derivative (prefix and suffix derivative), and 3- compound (copulative compound and non-copulative compound).

In this research paper Brahui language has been focused and research was carried out to ascertain the qualities of Brahui Language as a medium of education and relevant aspects of it have been discussed thoroughly. the methods adopted are collecting material, observation, deep study and analytical approach and after a comparison, the outcomes have been viewed in the context of realities exposed the above facts.

Translators should have a broad understanding of the languages being used in translation i.e. the language of the original text and the target language wherein the translation will be made. Thus, it is necessary that the translator should have sound knowledge and understanding of the language of the text and the translator's complete knowledge of his target language including educational, technical, practical, and linguistic skills at a mastery level. Similarly, the translator should be capable of making translation interesting and charming without losing the original essence. This article presents Maulvi Allah Bakhsh Zehri's the Handbook of Brahui Language in the 19th century with a Brahui translation of several Persian anecdotes followed by a translation from English into Brahui, titled "Brahui Reader". However, the art of translation in Brahui literature was first introduced by religious scholars and esteemed people with Arabic and Persian translations. For example. scholars of the Durkhani school of thought have been the source of many religious books, essays, commentaries, and valuable translations of the Holy Qur'an and Hadith in Brahui literature. This study discusses how the people benefited from the translations and commentaries of the Quran Majeed Furqan Hameed.

Brahui is one of the oldest languages of the world. It fiction literature can be traced back to the folk to the folk lures of the olden times. The story is to be found in this oral tradition the translations of fiction from the other languages into Brahui and those of Brahui fiction into the other languages started from 1956. Gul Bangulzai, Taj Raisani, Anwer Roman, Dr Abdur Rehman Brahui, Sosen Brahui, Nader Shahwani, Khadim lehri and many others translated fiction from foreign languages into Brahui. The aim of this research article is to trace the origin and derelafment of translations of fiction into Brahui language. The area has been virtually ignored by the research scholars and no scholar has yet not of this area is by no means lesser than original fiction. Therefore, the researcher felt this important area and attempted to fil the research gap in this ongoing research study.

Diaspora and indigenous speech communities are under the threat of extinction in Balochistan. Local inhabitants with a lower economic and commercial value symbolize cultural and ethnic genocide in western Pakistan. In my study, I investigate the scope of technology for the documentation and maintenance of the Brahui language in the province of Balochistan. Also, I discuss how language policy and the digital divide are creating unfamiliar pedagogical, socio-cultural and linguistic practices, along with putting minority speech communities in danger of losing their identity and bringing about linguistic extinction. Drawing on the work of critical theorists, perceptions of indigenous Brahui community are recorded to understand the influence of digital technology for language survival. The study identifies that digital divide and flawed educational policies in Balochistan are potent instruments of Brahui endangerment. I call for inclusive and unbiased language policies and uniform access to technology for linguistic empowerment of the Brahui speech community in Balochistan.

Although Brahui literature is oldest then its neighboring languages but its demand is as old as world. Brahui language has faces the dearth of especial glossary. Nations want to educate the society; they must work for the preservation of vocabulary and a dictionary. At the end of last century few works on glosser preservation has been made by English and national scholars of Brahui. This paper motivates its reader to understand the importance and deficiency of Glossary or dictionary writing in Brahui language and literature. Glossary setting is a science and study of this science is being essential in our language and literature.

This paper has adopted Sindhi script for Brahui Linguistic problems. In the 19th century, two different scripts were found to be used in Brahui language. The fact remains, that Brahui has adopted different writing styles in different time periods, and the Phonemic problems have arisen in every script this language has followed. In this title analysis of the Mid Low Center Voices of Brahui language, in Sindhi adopted script, the author has highlighted those phonemic issues that relate to Brahui Vowels, which do occur in adopted scripts. Hence, the objective of this paper has been, to identify these issues regarding Mid Low Center Voice, “H”. The study has been conducted on the overseas Brahui work. The secondary data has been used to conduct this research. The basic research has satisfactorily helped to achieve the above mentioned objectives with positive results. This paper is a formal demonstration of cognation between Elamite, a major language of the ancient Near East, and Brahui, a language of Balochistan, spoken primarily in Pakistan but also in Iran and Afghanistan. It is identifying Brahui as Modern Colloquial Eastern Elamite. Almost exactly two millennia have elapsed between the last recording of Elamite and the first recorded example of Brahui. While closely related, Brahui is not a descendant of classical Elamite. Rather, it is descended from an unattested eastern branch of Elamite. Part, one deals with a full statement of the Comparative Method focusing on the root syllable. Part Two adds comparative morphology and retailed comparisons of the verb structure.

Resultantly, he created the language (a noble act) because of which God rewarded him with the honor of being 'supreme creature. but when we study the structure of language, two things are significant: the first and foremost is the natural thing with which he shares his intense feelings to his fellow beings, and second is the literature which enlightens the next generations and helps the language reach its destinations. The cause is same with the Brahui Language .it is an ancient language. Its literary era starts from 709 AC. it evolves from Heroghalefi manuscript to Roman, Khat- e-Nask, Sindhi, Afghani and Persian. Since the alphabets of Brahui language are unacceptable, its literature faces a great deal of difficulties in its text. for example, there is a huge difficulty of dictation, for Brahui literary figures failed to structure, specify, or get its alphabet accepted. so different literary figures use different 'Brahui Phonetic Alphabets' which is deteriorating the question of dictation. So it is not easy to solve the conundrum of dictation here.

This study explores the lexical variation among Brahui dialects in general and, three main dialects of Brahui language Sarawani, Rakhshani, and Jalawani, in particular. The aim was to find out how far lexical variation marks the existence of identity and regional boundaries. The data was collected through interviews from 12 participants. In this study the social identity theory by Tajfel and Turner (1979) was used. The study reveals that lexical variety exists among the three Brahui dialects showing heterogeneity in the participants’ linguistic behavior to keep up their identities which separates the inhabitant of one region from another region also showing the presence of regional boundaries.

The article further elaborates the importance and role of fiction translation in promoting a language and literature and how the nature of translation has been considered a progressive step to strengthen the native education system. However, it is necessary that the translator should be well versed in the fundamental and practical components of the translation skills and be an efficient user the of target language as well as the translation language. This article focuses the qualities of good translation, particularly, it lays emphasis on fiction on which these translations are based. Thereby, it also critically analyzes the contribution of Ghamkhawar Hayat from Urdu fiction into Brahui literature and the coherence between the original text and the translated one. Ghamkhawar Hayat has translated a number of books in Brahui from Urdu literature having a huge contribution to familiarize the residents of the region to another literature.

Psychological analysis of Brahui short story is quite new in Brahui research. This paper describes the psychological disorders of various characters of ‘’Guddiko Nazar”. In the 1986 century Waheed Zaheer penned down “Guddiko Nazar”, a psychological short story in Brahui language. It was first published in his book “Shanza”. The aim of this paper was to reveal the mental disorders as depicted in the mentioned short story. Mental illness is a state of mind where psychological problems impose not only hurdles in a harmonious co-existence but create distress felt by the individual who suffers from one. A mental condition may even hurt those around the sufferer. In this study, the researcher employed content analysis, a branch of descriptive and analytical research to conduct a psychological review of fiction writing, in comparison with modern psychological theories, especially related to mental illness. The investigation revealed that “Guddiko Nazar” is a master piece of literary work of Brahui language, which focuses the important psychological disorders, like obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) including anxiety, guilt, complexes and many more mental disorders. The short story reflects the writing skills in line with contemporary psychological fiction writing techniques.

In the 19th century, Haibat Khan crafted "Musaafir" the premier fiction, a historical short story in the Brahui language and it was published in the year 1957, in the monthly literary magazine Nawaiy-e-Watan. The author employed content analysis, a branch of descriptive research to critically review fiction writing techniques, in comparison with the modern day fictions. The investigation revealed that the ‘Musaafir’ is a masterpiece of literary work in Brahui language, which focuses the portrayal of nature, characterizations, narration skills, theme and plot development, dialog formation, thought process, description of events and climax based fictitious short story. This study represents the culture of the society in Balochistan, and also reflects the writers’ insight of fiction drafting skills in line with contemporary fiction writing techniques

In order to determine the extent to which lexical variation denotes the presence of regional boundaries, the current study examines the lexical variation across Brahui dialects in general and, in particular, the three main dialects of the Brahui language: Sarawani, Rakhshani, and Jhalawani. 20 Brahui variations were observed in this investigation. At the 10-word level, the words completely altered (melyparo/melypak/mellof, zeal/horhad/hor, hora/gade, razan/hozar, henak/hen/khary, bestry/lep/bherum, hasol/chat/besat, Tanya/chew, johan Lagery/dost barer/wharery, nary/rumbky/halmyky) and ten graphophonic alterations that affected sound and production (darasm/hrasam, dorogh/dhorogh, darakht/dharakch, yaka/yako, chaik/thaik, dangia/dangy/dary, chofot/thefarot, mahon/mahman, dhun/dhaun, hetiv/thive). The data was collected from 150 middle-aged participants (30 to 50 years old). The Social Identity Theory by Tajfel and Turner (1979) has been applied in this work. To measure the association between linguistic variables and social variables, the Chi-square test of independence was being used. According to the study, there is lexical diversity among the three Brahui dialects. Lexical diversity distinguishes residents of one region from those of another and can confirm the existence of regional boundaries.
