Abstract:
Abstract Tugaya, Lanao del Sur (LDS) is renowned for its brassware industry, but heavy metals linked to brass production pose potential genotoxic risks. A Micronucleus (MN) Assay using hemocytes of the gastropod Vivipara angularis Muller assessed genotoxicity in Tugaya, Madalum, and Lake Dapao (reference site). Tugaya had the highest MN frequency (13.8 MN/20000 hemocytes), followed by Madalum (9.35), both significantly higher than Lake Dapao (1.2). Juvenile snails in Tugaya (17.4) and Madalum (12.7) exhibited higher MN counts than adults. Flame Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (FAAS) detected Cu

Abstract:

Abstract:
Industries play a major role in the development of countries′ economy. However, they are known as the biggest source of water pollution in the whole world. In fact, several industries use a huge amount of water in their manufacturing operations, and then, they reject a large volume of wastewaters such as tanneries, brassware, olive mills … etc. The sewage of these industries may contain organic/inorganic matters or toxic components that harm human health and the environment. Therefore, the treatment of these effluents is necessary. For that, there are many treatment processes, including biolog
