Abstract:
The education development in Brazil has been influenced by government policies, especially those directed at higher learning. To judge the effectiveness of these policies it is necessary to evaluate the quality of the teaching offered, particularly with respect to public education. In this context, there have been many initiatives for new postgraduate programs. To be accredited, these programs must be approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), part of the Ministry of Education. Among the many criteria considered by CAPES, the academic production is the most important. Many works proposing approaches to classify college programs based on faculty bibliographical output have been published; among these, those based on data envelopment analysis stand out. The present work uses grey relational analysis based approach. Another difference is that the information is considered on a master’s program not yet accredited, that is, one that still needs to be evaluated by CAPES. A classification is established for this program in relation to the ones already accredited along with a way to identify the improvement points and an improvement factor for each attribute considered. The results indicate that the approach is efficient in relation to that based on traditional data envelopment analysis and suggest areas for future research in this area.

Abstract:
The evaluation of graduate courses is revealed as one of the most important areas for the application of data envelopment analysis (DEA). However, to use this method it is necessary to select the set of variables: the inputs and outputs as a basis for application of the method. In Brazil, the entity responsible for evaluating postgraduate courses is the CAPES (Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination), whose assessment is based on grading that can vary from 1 to 5 (in the case where there is only the master) or 7 (when IES presents the doctoral program). Given the real need to check the efficiency of the engineering III postgraduate programs. This article suggests the use of DEA based on the criteria defined by CAPES. They identify situations programs with high concept given by CAPES appearing with low efficiency.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: to identify, among the Academic Master's courses, run by Brazilian post-graduate nursing programs, analyzed in the three-yearly evaluation (2007-2009) of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the course load stated by the programs for training Master's degree students. METHOD: a descriptive, quantitative, documental study, with data collected in July 2010, through consulting the above-mentioned Coordination's reports in the item "Programs' Proposals", in the Table of Indicators, available on the Internet. RESULTS: discrepancies were found between the course loads of the 32 Academic Master's courses in the different regions of Brazil, with the smallest having a course load of 315 hours and the largest, 1530 hours. CONCLUSIONS: greater discussion is needed about the course load necessary for training the competencies and skills for the profile desired for the students on graduating from the course. The study provides advances in nursing knowledge, as previous investigations on the same issue were not identified. It is hoped that Academic Master's courses in nursing may see themselves in this process and may review their pedagogical decisions in the light of the new models of training/qualification of nursing professionals, centered in science, technology and innovation in the area.

Abstract:
Purpose The study aims to propose the use of the semiotics inspection method (SIM) which is an interpretative and qualitative method from semiotics engineering (SE) for the evaluation of the communicability of systems and to evaluate digital libraries and information retrieval systems (IRS). The paper presents the results of the application of this method in the evaluation of the quality of the communicability of the interface and search system of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) Portal of e-Journals, a major scientific digital library in Brazil. There are proposed solutions to improve this system included. Design/methodology/approach The study used the SIM to evaluate the system. Two evaluators inspected the system. They performed the comparison and the analysis of three types of metamessages (metalinguistic, static and dynamic). The metamessages generated by the evaluators were contrasted to find inconsistencies and ambiguities in the CAPES Portal of e-Journals. Finally, the last step of the method was the final assessment about the inspection. Findings The evaluators identified 52 problems of communicability. These problems were ranked according to severity ratings established by Nielsen (1994). They were grouped in ten types of problems present in the interface and in the search system of the CAPES Portal of e-Journals. Originality value This research contributes theoretically to the field of information retrieval and to the area of human–computer interaction and, in particular, to the theory of SE by adapting SE methods that allow the evaluation of communicability to the context of the scientific IRS. Results obtained through scientific methods should contribute to development of the interface and search tools of IRS to better support query formulation and retrieval of relevant information and more efficiently satisfy the information needs of individuals.

Abstract:
This article examines the expansion of undergraduate and graduate programs in Brazil, characterizing the convergences and divergences between the two educational levels in the last 15 years. This is a document study based on data available on the websites of the Ministry of Education and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). Undergraduate studies in social work are currently offered by 575 institutions, distributed among Brazil's five geographical regions, particularly in the Southeast and South. These institutions are for the most part private and provide both classroom-based and distance learning formats. Graduate studies programs continue to expand at a different pace. They are primarily linked to public institutions, with classroom-based teaching and a higher number of PhD holders among their professors.

Abstract:
In the field of human research, researchers are faced with unexpected moral dilemmas, as a result of the development of technologies applied to health. Due to the great importance of this issue, our objective was to evaluate bioethics instruction in the education of researchers in Brazilian graduate programs in dentistry. Eighty-seven graduate programs in dentistry, recognized by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) were evaluated in this study. Data were extracted independently by two researchers from the CAPES website, and from the websites of the graduate programs, directly or via links to the programs available at the CAPES website. Forty-eight out of 87 programs had an ethics/bioethics course as part of their curricula. Of the graduation programs graded 5, 6 or 7 by CAPES, 38% included bioethics courses, while 62% of the programs graded 3 or 4 by CAPES had bioethics courses as part of their curricula. These findings are an alert to those involved in dental research education, as they showed that, although resolution 196/96 by the National Council of Health regulating human research in Brazil was published ten years ago, bioethics instruction in Brazilian graduate programs in dentistry is still at an incipient stage. This situation indicates a need for ethics pedagogy in the education of young researchers.

Abstract:
Due to the central role that ITs have played in transforming society and the knowledge economy, it is essential to understand IT Governance (ITG), a subject that is evolving worldwide. When considering Brazil only, this research domain stands out in academia along with the United States and China. In this context, the objective of this study is to identify and describe the panorama of scientific capital, based on the final product of Brazilian graduate programs, theses and dissertations, concerning ITG. From a qualitative and quantitative approach, an exploratory and descriptive research was carried out through documentary and bibliometric research, with data extracted from the Lattes Platform and the Sucupira Platform of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). The main results evidenced that more than half of the studies in ITG come from graduate programs in Administration, among other areas such as Engineering and Computing. It is concluded that ITG is an interdisciplinary subject, not adhering to only a certain field of knowledge within Brazil. It is noted that ITG has a scientific capital set up and that it is still developing in this country.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to understand, in the state of São Paulo academic environment, the differences between the profiles of academic entrepreneurs, nonacademic entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach The authors collected data from a more comprehensive research, whose objective was to evaluate the scholarship programmes of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). For data collection, the authors used an online questionnaire, pre-filled with information from the Lattes Curriculum of the sample individuals, as well as information obtained from FAPESP and from coordination for the improvement of higher education personnel. The response rate of the questionnaires was 21 per cent. The authors sought to explore the variables regarding entrepreneurial activities carried out by former scholarship holders, by relating them to other key variables identified in the literature review and explained in the hypotheses. Findings The results indicate that entrepreneurship rates decrease with the higher academic level of the researcher; in general, academic entrepreneurs come from families with a good financial situation, and applied sciences are the areas of knowledge with more entrepreneurs. Originality/value Despite the great number of theoretical and empirical studies found in the literature on entrepreneurship and academic entrepreneurship, there is still a shortage of practical studies on this latter topic in Brazil. This gap is even more evident when the authors consider the significant growth of entrepreneurial activity in the country in the past years. This paper contributes to fill this gap, and it aims to understand, in the state of São Paulo academic environment, the differences between the profiles of academic entrepreneurs, nonacademic entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs.

Abstract:
After more than four decades of post-graduate programs in Brazil focused on the preparation of teachers – the Stricto and Lato Sensu programs – we have verified a gearing frequency of academic works that reflect on these programs. Through a bibliometric analysis and a content analysis of scientific publications focused on the Stricto Sensu programs we conclude that the current stage of research development shows that these programs are associated with a concentrated focus on research and that pedagogical preparation is being made secondary. The methodology used was qualitative, data from the Brazilian Platform for Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (CAPES) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) were used and analyzed using the Iramuteq software. The results showed that since the 2000s the number of doctoral theses and master's dissertations has grown and the area with the most publications refers to the health sciences. This bias motivates an accessory debate as well as revealing the implications of the focus of these programs.

The objective of this work is to present an overview of how research on Municipal Councils of Education has been developed in Brazil. This is a review study that had as its initial reference Souza and Vasconcelos’s (2006) article, which addressed the production regarding the Councils related to Education from 1996 to 2002. This research, in turn, covers a broader period and was carried out based on the survey of Doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses available in the Catalog of Dissertations and Theses and Open Data of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES. Altogether, 111 dissertations and theses were identified across the country, defended between 1998 and 2019, with the highest concentration of research being observed in the Southeast region. The theoretical and methodological framework included discussions by authors such as: Cury (2004), Bordignon (2009), Mainardes (2018, 2021), Gil (2019), among others. It was verified that the production around this theme has grown over the years, with a predominance of case studies, in which the specific aspects of the Municipal Councils of Education are analyzed and how they act in the face of educational demands, denoting special interest of researchers about democratic management, participatory democracy and representativeness in the Municipal Councils of Education. At the end of this text, the systematization of the survey carried out is presented, with the works organized in 19 categories.

Abstract:
The present research aims to analyze the publications related to astronomy education that discusses the interface between formal education (FE) and non-FE (NFE) at scientific events and a journal in the Brazilian context. These events were the National Symposium on Astronomy Education, the National Meeting on Research in Science Education (ENPEC), and the National Symposium on Physics Teaching. We also analyzed the journal “Latin American Journal of Astronomy Education” (RELEA). The objective was to understand how the approach between FE and NFE in the teaching of astronomy is constructed. The delimitation of the analyses covering the period 2001–2014 coincided with the constitution of Area 46 by the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), which regulates postgraduate programs in Brazil. In a theoretical-methodological aspect, the ideas of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2011) were adopted. Among the results, we observed that few studies dealt with the relationship between FE and NFE; however, almost half of them occurred in institutions commonly classified as FE (i.e., schools), and the actions were mediated by teachers. Among the main activities, we highlight the observations the sky, guided tours, and play activities, with more than 60% of the activities going through three moments proposed by Allard et al. (1994): Before, during, and after the accomplishment of the activity in a non-formal space. The results found in this research can foster reflections about teacher training courses since more and more NFE spaces are present in teaching-learning processes, but little has been done to associate FE and NFE in teaching practice. We discuss what difficulties are faced by teachers to approach FE and NFE.

Abstract:
This state of knowledge research aims to map the scientific production on the relationship to knowing in teacher training in Brazil, as well as categorize the multiple approaches and perspectives of publications on this theme. Data has been collected from the following academic databases: CAPES (a Brazilian federal government agency that stands for Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), Scopus, SciELO and REPERES (Network of Research on the Relationship to Knowing). This study has originated from skimming titles and abstracts of articles, dissertations and theses whose data have been processed in the light of discursive textual analysis, which involves a cycle of operations that deconstruct a corpus so as to categorize the analysis units. At the end of this stage, the following categories have emerged: school learning, school experience, knowledges (in the plural form) and formative processes. The results disclose the relevance of teachers in the pursuit of a career path with inquisitive attitudes that valorize the Other through a humanistic, dialogic and knowledge-sharing perspective. There is an emergence of Professors/Researchers who reconstruct knowledge, and therefore providing meaning to different knowledges, regardless if these are curricular, disciplinary, professional or experiential. All in all, it has been concluded that the relationship to knowing in teacher training leads to accounting not only for existing difficulties in the process of “learning to learn”, but also for the teacher’s role as mediator between knowledges, the world, his Self and the Other.

Abstract:
Objective: To analyze dissertations and theses produced by graduate programs in nutrition in Brazil from 2003 to 2012. We sought to identify: a) The number of studies produced per year b) the scientific approach (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed), and c) the area of knowledge in the scientific field of nutrition. Methods: This is a descriptive study. We investigated seven graduate programs linked to the area of nutrition of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, which had the web pages listing the studies. The analysis procedures included reading the titles, identifying the advisor's lines of research, reading the summaries, and reading the methods section. Results: In the study period 758 dissertations and 204 theses were defended, signifying an increase of 229.0% for the all programs. The hegemony of the quantitative approach shows the influence of the philosophical trends linked to positivism and the biological sciences, attracting interest from 92.5% of researchers. The qualitative and mixed approaches contributed only to 7.3% of the studies, expressing the influence of the social sciences and humanities and of the philosophical trends' dialectics and phenomenology about a small group of researchers. Conclusion: The distribution of dissertations and theses in the six areas of knowledge reaffirms the complexity, breadth, epistemological, and methodological heterogeneity; and the configuration of the field of knowledge production in food and nutrition, requiring the construction of collective political projects, seeking the interdisciplinarity of the different areas that structure the field.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Poor diet quality is a major risk factor for the development of anemia. An increased consumption of fortified ultra-processed food (UPF) among children presents a new contributor to micronutrient intake, one that could potentially improve anemia biomarkers despite having a concomitantly low diet quality. Our objective was to investigate the impact of fortified UPF consumption on the prevalence of anemia and diet quality among children from low-income families in Brazil. Methods A cross-sectional analyses from a randomized field trial of children at 3 years of age (n = 432) from Porto Alegre, Brazil. Capillary blood samples were taken to measure hemoglobin concentration (Hb) and used to determine anemia status. Dietary data was assessed using two multiple-pass 24-h recalls and the consumption of UPF was classified according to the NOVA system. Results UPF account for 42.6% of total energy intake. Children in the highest tertile of UPF consumption had significantly lower risk of anemia (Hb < 110 g/L) compared to those in the lowest tertile (tertile 3 vs. tertile 1; OR 0.56 95% CI 0.39 to 0.82). Similarly, a 10% increase in the consumption of UPF was associated with a 22% lower risk of anemia (95% CI 0.64 to 0.94). Conversely, consumption of UPF was negatively associated with consumption of unprocessed/minimally processed foods. Finally, as the contribution of UPF to total energy intake increased, the intake of added sugars, total fats, and sodium increased, whereas the intake of proteins, fiber, and calcium decreased. Conclusions The consumption of fortified UPF was associated with a lower risk of anemia and a poor diet quality in children from a low-income community in Brazil. The co-existence of normal Hb with poor diet quality suggests the need for a more nuanced assessment of dietary patterns in low-income settings to best address this paradoxical situation as the prevalence of the double burden of disease continues to increase throughout the world. Abstract:
Abstract Objectives The consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPF) plays a role in the development of chronic diseases, but there is a limited number of studies targeting the association of its intake and risk of diseases in childhood. Our objective was to determine longitudinal trends of UPF intake and their impact on blood lipids in young children. Methods A longitudinal cohort study of children at 3 and 6 years of age from low-income families in southern Brazil was conducted. Dietary data were collected through two 24-h recalls and UPF consumption was assessed by NOVA, a classification of foods based on the degree and purpose of industrial food processing. At 6 years of age, blood tests were performed to measure total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and triglycerides. Multivariable linear regression analyses were used to assess differences across tertiles of UPF consumption at age 3 years on lipid profile at age 6 years. Results Complete data were available for 308 children; of which, 52.0% were male. Regarding nutritional status, 18.0% of children at age 3 years and 18.4% at age 6 years were overweight. UPF represented a mean of 43% and 47% of the total energy intake at 3 and 6 years of age, respectively. The overall dietary contribution of UPF increased by 10% across three years of assessment. Higher UPF intake at age 3 years was associated with increased levels of total cholesterol (tertile 3 vs. tertile 1; β 8.51 mg/dL [95% CI 1.65 to 15.37]) and triglycerides (tertile 3 vs. tertile 1; β 9.69 mg/dL [(95% CI 0.97 to 18.42]) later at age 6 years. Conclusions An increase in UPF consumption was associated with poor lipid profile at age 6 years. The results of our study emphasize the need for innovative strategies to reduce the consumption of ultra-processed foods, especially in early ages, to ensure lifelong health. Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Evaluate the effect of probiotic supplementation on liver function markers, and clinical parameters, in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) patients. Methods This double-blind, randomized clinical trial included adult outpatients with biopsy-proven NASH. The intervention: 24 weeks of supplementation with probiotic mix (Lactobacillus acidophillus + Bifidobacterium lactis + Lactobacillus rhamnosus + Lactobacillus paracasei, 1 × 109 CFU for each) or placebo, twice a day. At baseline and 24-weeks after treatment, the following parameters were evaluated: demographic and clinical data, hepatic enzymes, laboratory assessment, serum concentration of toll-like receptor-4 (TLR-4), cytokeratin 18 (CK-18) biomarker and anthropometric data assessment. Results Forty-four patients completed the trial (51.4 ± 11.6 years, 59% women). At baseline, 87% had low hepatic fibrosis degree (26% F0; 61% F1 at biopsy), values of hepatic enzymes close to normal [AST 32 (24–46) U/L, ALT 42 (28–63) U/L, GGT 46 (28–84) U/L], increased waist circumference (104.7 ± 12 cm), body mass index (BMI) with obesity classification 30.97 (28.36–33.75) kg/m2 and 76% with Metabolic Syndrome (MetS). After 24 weeks, no differences were observed between the Probiotic and Placebo groups in the components of the MetS, waist circumference, BMI or liver enzymes (P > 0.05 for all). CK-18 was reduced in both groups after the intervention: in the probiotic group from 981.09 (738.34–1134.73) to 639.46 (509.50–817.23) mIU/ml (P ≤ < 0.01) and in the placebo group from 789.74 (540.80–985.65) to 605.45 (472.13–837.22) mIU/ml (P = 0.013), however with no significant difference between groups (P = 0.109). Likewise, TLR-4 was reduced in both groups after the intervention, also with no difference between groups (P = 0.885). Conclusions The intervention with probiotics for 24 weeks in patients with NASH with low degree of fibrosis demonstrated to be unable to promote significant changes in the reduction of liver injury and inflammation biomarkers, nutritional and clinical parameters. Abstract:
Capes. Proex. Proap. Efficiency assessment of economic programs in the Country contemplated with Proex and Proap Abstract: This paper aims to evaluate the productive efficiency of post-graduate programs, more particularly the referred programs in the economics field benefited by public policies from the Program of Academic Excellence (Proex) and Postgraduate Support Program (Proap). A total of 34 academic economics programs were analyzed regarding the evaluation of the Coordination for Improvement of Higher Education Personnel Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes) in the period from 2010 to 2012. The instrument used for the calculation of the efficiency was conceived using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method in three stages, denominated network DEA, with Constant Returns to Scale (CRS), product oriented, this model was originally introduced by Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (1978). In the first stage, five programs achieved efficiency in registrations in relation to the number of teachers and funding received from Capes. Regarding the graduation rates and participation in events, variables of the second stage, five programs were also successful. In the third stage, which analyzed the efficiency of publications in articles and chapters of books measured by Capes weights, seven programs achieved expected efficiency. Of the efficient programs, which simultaneously offer master's and doctoral courses, four are in the first stage; four in the second stage; and three of them in the last stage. The others only offer the masters level. It is noted that, according to the inputs and outputs adopted, all the efficient programs in the three stages analyzed belong to Proap. It is worth mentioning that the DEA model is a deterministic method and, in this way, the performance evaluation of the programs becomes more objective. Keywords: Public policy. Capes. Proex. Proap. Abstract:
Abstract The Caatinga biome has undergone major processes of environmental degradation, which leads to fragmentation, loss of habitat and a growing concern for the restoration of this environment. Insects respond in different ways to inhabit successional gradients, being important in detecting altered environments. Therefore, the objective was to build a bibliographic research about the studies developed in the Caatinga with a focus on the use of insects in the evaluation of restoration, regeneration or succession of degraded areas in this biome. Access to the bibliography was carried out electronically, scientific articles were searched on the google academic and of periodics of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES, the searches were made between 06/12/17 to 09/10/17 and in April 2020. The keywords used were in English and Portuguese and in relation to the proposed theme. Of the 112 selected articles, only 18 studies were the focus of the review. The most studied insect order in degraded areas and / or regeneration processes is Isoptera, followed by Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. All studies pointed out groups of insects as bioindicators, but the results on assemblages, composition and species richness were divergent for certain groups. The works are punctual in some orders of insects, but it seems that they are in legitimate expansion and, thus, the biome urgently needs a greater contribution of scientific research, which will allow a greater understanding of the processes that catalyze the regeneration of native vegetation and improve the management capacity of degraded areas. Abstract:
The article presents studies that discuss the relationship between the teaching work of preschool teachers and their health. Research was carried out in three different places: from 2010 to 2017 in the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO Brazil), from 2000 to 2017 in the Portal da Associação Nacional de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Educação - ANPEd (Portal of the National Association of Postgraduate and Research in Education) and from 2000 to 2017 at the Banco de Teses da Capes/MEC- Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior/Ministério da Educação (Capes Bank of Theses/MEC - Coordination of Improvement of Higher Personnel Education / Ministry of Education). In the "article search" field, we used the descriptors (isolated and associated): "illness", "teacher" and "early childhood education", and later added "sickness". Search was carried out in "general" and "summary" fields. Among these papers, theses and dissertations were found 17 papers that analysed the relationship between the sickness of the preschool teachers and their work, it was shown that this relatively new group of teachers who are still constructing their professional identity, is still poorly studied although it presents itself as a risk group for illness, so more studies are needed to identify problems and seek solutions.ResumoO artigo apresenta estudos que abordam a relação do trabalho docente das professoras de educação infantil com a sua saúde. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze university teaching in nursing from an institutional dialectic approach. Method: a qualitative research based on Institutional Socioclinics. Eighteen nursing professors from four regions of Brazil and from six public institutions of higher education participated. For data production, interviews, observations, documentary analyses, individual and collective restitution and use of the research diary were performed. Data was organized for analysis by transcription/translation, recomposition/rearrangement, and final reconstruction/narration. Data analysis was produced from analyzers, based on Socioclinics, Institutional Analysis current of thought, and on the qualitative mode of analysis by questioning and writing. Results: two main analyzers made the institution ‘teaching in higher education and the nursing professor’ emerge: time-money relation and resistance. Teaching time, increasingly associated with money, in managerialist logic, has formatted the nursing professors as passive subjects in the production of knowledge, induced by the evaluation model of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel and its link to the progression in the university career. In this model, the nursing professor is driven to devote more to research than to teaching. This interferes with teaching conceptions and practices, which are more influenced by managerialism and less grounded in pedagogical theories. Resistance against this model has not yet encountered coping mechanisms. Conclusion: from the analysis produced with the participants, the choices of the nursing professor are so much more grounded in managerialism and so much less based on pedagogical references, especially those arising from dialectical theories. In this sense, resistance is transformed into a movement of adaptation.

Abstract:
In Brazil, most of the scientific research is developed within the scope of the Brazilian university Graduate Programs, which host the Master’s and Doctorate courses. These Graduate Programs are evaluated by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, an organ of the Brazilian Ministry of Education, which classifies the Graduate Programs in a ranking that ranges from 1 to 7, with 7 being the level of excellence. Among the inputs used by this evaluation process, there are the Brazilian researcher Lattes CVs, which contain all the details of the researchers’ academic life, such as their academic background, areas of professional activity, intellectual production, student supervisions, collaboration networks, etc. The CVs of Brazilian researchers are publicly available for download in XML format. In this paper, we undertake a bibliometric analysis of the CVs taken from researchers who are part of a sample of Brazilian Graduate Programs in Manufacturing Engineering that have national ranking greater or equal to 4. For a period of 10 years (2008-2017), we sought to identify the most published topics, vehicles most used for publication, the basic training of the researchers, and the potential existence of collaboration networks between the Graduate Programs. Among other results, we could identify that 29 institutions are Alma Mater of 68.36% of the researchers analyzed. In addition, it was possible to verify that only two Brazilian scientific events account for 7.5% of the total of publications for the analyzed sample and period.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the scientific production of postgraduate programs in Information Science from 2008 to 2012. It aims to list the scientific production recorded in the Lattes curriculum of Professors connected with the Graduate Program in Information Science accredited by the Coordination improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) with grade five. Through qualitative and quantitative research, the literature review sought to align itself with the Assessment System for Postgraduate deployed by CAPES. The methodological procedures identifies the registered Professors within these programs, collecting data in the Lattes curricula, and treating them from the bibliometric and scientometric assumptions to weave analysis and validation of results. It discusses scientific production in relation to the Information Science in the country. It analyzes that there is a difference of almost 50% between the first placed with the third and the fourth in the ranking of scientific output. The estudy argues that qualitative criteria could improve the systems of evaluation of programs that would contribute to the development of scientific production. It concludes that the different rates of production of scientific programs with the same note could be the main snag CAPES evaluation. At the same time, this study suggests, for example, postgraduate programs to adopt criterion focused on responsibility or requirement of publication policy by students of graduate programs within the programs.

Abstract:
Abstract This manuscript aims to discuss possibilities for the incorporation of complex thinking in the scientific field of Physical Education (PE) in Brazil. In dialogue with philosophers who theorize about complex thinking, we analyze the ordering of scientific knowledge structures in Brazil, such as the organization in areas and lines of PE Graduate Programs (PPGs) exposed on their websites and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) document. Regarding sociocultural transformations that occurred throughout the 20th century, science perceives the limits of knowledge, where divisions in disciplines seem to be insufficient to investigate the complexity of problems, giving rise to the epistemological perspective of complex thinking. PE is organized in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary way, but with gaps between human sciences and natural sciences. Therefore, seeking strategies to reduce borders is emerging for the area to adapt to the new scientific needs of the 21st century.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT This was an exploratory and analytical research with a qualitative approach which aimed to understand how newly graduated doctors of nursing built their scientific career projects, considering the eight domains of the Profile of the Doctor of Nursing of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel Ministry of Education/Brazil. Sixteen graduates of Graduate Nursing Programs in Brazil with grades five, six and seven, graduated between the years 2008-2012, were interviewed. From the data analysis, five categories emerged: starting careers; seeking the stricto sensu education for professors; recognizing professional training; seeking fulfillment and professional development; and planning careers: facing challenges and barriers. It was possible to reflect upon the lives and needs inherent in the preparation of doctors of nursing for employment in the labor market and on the planning of their professional and scientific careers, in addition to identifying factors of suffering and professional dissatisfaction.

Abstract:
On May 2019 Brazilian Federal government declared it would follow the Japanese academic model, cutting funding for undergraduate and graduate-level programs and research on Humanities and Social Sciences. The cited reforms were implemented by Japanese Education Minister Shimomura in 2015, but Japan would later back down on these cuts. In Brazil, however, the cuts affect 30% of the budget for Federal educational institutions and frozen the continuity of the most important program from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), which distributed grants for researchers on graduate programs. This paper conducts a literature and bibliographic review in order to debate the Brazilian’s cuts on Higher Education. It is concluded that those cuts are mainly politically motivated, affecting mostly the hard sciences instead of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is also concluded the political motivations behind the slashing of funding for Education may backfire, fostering the actual and new forms of political associativism between Brazilian students and researchers.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: Due to the increasing number of postgraduate programs in rehabilitation science and of masters and doctoral researchers in Brazil, there has been significant improvement in the production and quality of these studies. However, this only addresses some research fields but not others, which highlights the need to show the current professional development process and discuss the role of these professionals in an interdisciplinary framework. Objective: To analyze the research lines and disciplines of Brazilians’ postgraduate programs in rehabilitation science. Method: A qualitative descriptive study used the Sucupira platform and data sought from websites properly registered on Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel). Data frequency analysis and the relation between research lines and disciplines were achieved using TextStat (Simple Text Analysis Tool), version 3.0. Results: The most frequent fields of study among the postgraduate programs analyzed were neurology, cardiorespiratory, and musculoskeletal. The description of the research lines and their objectives aim the assessment or intervention for rehabilitation comprehension. Conclusion: The research lines and disciplines do not follow epistemological discussions, neither the change of concepts or paradigms necessary for the successful entry of these professionals into an interdisciplinary framework.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to analyze the teachers' view on the importance and the use of a medicinal garden in a public school in a city in northeastern Brazil. It was analyzed how this resource can contribute as a didactic material for the interdisciplinary practice in basic education. The school garden was planted in the second half of 2014, through an intervention project promoted by the University of Pernambuco's Program of Initiation to Teaching (PIBID) Program, linked to the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel of the Government of Brazil (CAPES). A semi structured questionnaire was applied to thirteen teachers at the school. The results obtained in the interviews showed the teachers' lack of interest regarding the use of the school garden. Even so, most teachers recognize the importance of the school garden as a didactic resource. With this study it was possible to observe that any project of intervention in the schools requires that the teachers are ready to use it. It is necessary to create a teacher training plan. Alternative teaching tools show themselves as stimulating actions in learning and as an efficient didactic resource in modern school.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives The objective is to investigate the influence of chia consumption on inflammation, oxidative stress, and blood lipid profile in adult female ovariectomized Wistar rats fed high-fat diet Methods Forty ovariectomized and 40 intact (SHAM) rats were allocated into 8 groups (n = 10), and received one of the following four diets: standard diet (ST); standard diet + chia (STC); high-fat diet (HF); high-fat diet + chia (HFC) during 126 days. Biochemical parameters and biomarkers of lipid peroxidation, inflammation, and oxidative stress were evaluated. The mRNA expression of proteins involved in inflammation such as PPAR-α, NFκB, TNF-α and Zn-SOD1 were analyzed, as well as TNF-α and IL-1β levels. The results were subjected to ANOVA at 5% probability. Post hoc Duncan test was carried out to compare means among the groups. Test-t was used to compare the same diet group with ovariectomy or not. Results Chia intake increased HDL-c and reduced LDL-c levels. Among the ovariectomized groups, the animals fed chia showed higher SOD mRNA expression and activity. The consumption of the HF did not alter the total antioxidant capacity. In addition, chia consumption did not improve this parameter. Nevertheless, plasma catalase concentration was higher in STC group. MDA concentration was higher in all groups fed HF. PPAR-α mRNA expression was higher in the STC group. Besides, high fat diet consumption was able to reduce the PPAR-α mRNA expression. The NFκB mRNA expression were lower in STC groups. However, mRNA expression and the protein levels of TNF-α were lower in the rats fed standard diet. Nevertheless, the protein levels of IL-1β were lower in the rats fed standard diet and high fat diet with chia. Conclusions In general, ovariectomy did not influence inflammatory and oxidative stress parameters. Chia intake during 126 days was able to improve antioxidant activity, increasing SOD expression, PPAR-α expression, catalase concentration, and HDL-c levels in adults female rats submitted or not to ovariectomy and fed a standard or a high-fat diet. In addition, chia consumption decrease inflammatory markes, IL-1β and LDL-c concentration.
