The flip side of the European Union’s policy aimed at accelerating the fourth energy transition has been energy isolationism — namely, the pursuit of quantitative indicators characterising a country’s energy balance without considering their impact on the energy balance of neighbouring countries. This article examines energy isolationism using the example of Lithuania’s 2022 initiative, which called on the three Baltic States to disconnect from the BRELL synchronous power grid — linking them to Russia and Belarus — before 2025. The article discusses some problems of energy supply of the Baltic republics with electricity after their accession to the European Union. The policy of Brussels aimed at curtailing energy cooperation between the Baltic States and Russia and Belarus is analyzed. The calculations of the investment costs incurred by the Baltic countries as a result of disconnection from the Russian and Belarusian power grids and synchronization of electricity flows with the EU countries are given. Abstract For a country to be able to survive successfully, one of the criteria is a stable electric power supply that meets certain technical parameters. In the European Union, several countries are working synchronously to ensure the safety of electricity systems. In order to achieve such synchronous operation, the European Union has adopted Regulation No. 2016/631, which sets out the requirements for grid-connected generators. The present article develops a model to assess the compliance of generators with the requirements of the Regulation, as well as conducts economic analysis to assess wh

Nowadays, voltage sag continues to remain a critical PQ issue in the industry. Since it is not possible to install a voltage analyzer on every node, optimal monitoring locations must be determined. However, during the PQ monitoring campaign of the Lithuanian DSO grid, the execution of this task was inhibited by the lack of knowledge and literature about the fundamentals of voltage sags propagation. Therefore, the first part of this paper investigates the propagation paths of voltage sags by using a voltage sag matrix method on the created test grid, which for the first time is BRELL-based. Thi

This article provides a detailed psychological analysis of the protagonist, Miss Brill, from Katherine Mansfield’s short story "Miss Brill." The paper focuses on the psychological states of loneliness, social disconnection, self-deception, and eventual emotional collapse, illustrating how these themes are central to Miss Brill’s character development. The analysis uses literary techniques such as symbolism, imagery, irony, and psychological concepts to explore how Miss Brill constructs and eventually faces the harsh reality of her isolation. Higher rank Brill–Noether theory for genus 6 is especially interesting as, even in the general case, some unexpected phenomena arise which are absent in lower genus. Moreover, it is the first case for which there exist curves of Clifford dimension greater than 1 (smooth plane quintics). In all cases, we obtain new upper bounds for non-emptiness of Brill–Noether loci and construct many examples which approach these upper bounds more closely than those that are well known. Some of our examples of non-empty Brill–Noether loci have negative Brill–Noether numbers.

Brambila-paz, i. Grzegorczyk et p. E. Newstead montrait que cette solution n'etait pas optimale. En generalisant les arguments de cet article, nous avons trouve une solution a ce probleme dans des conditions particulieres, dont on deduit une conjecture qui fournirait une solution generale.
