Abstract:
In this paper the multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple access (MC DS-CDMA) using space-time spreading assisted transmit diversity is investigated in the context of broadband wireless communi-cations systems constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in noise over frequency-se-lective Rayleigh fading channels. We consider the issue of parameter design for the sake of achieving high-ef-ficiency communications in various dispersive environments. In contrast to the conventional MC DS-CDMA wireless communication system employing the time (T)-domain spreading only, in the present paper the broad-band wireless MC DS-CDMA wireless communication schemes employ both the time (T)-domain and frequen-cy (F)-domain spreading, i.e., employ the TF-domain spreading. The bit-error rate (BER) performance of the space-time spreading assisted broadband MC DS-CDMA wireless communications system is investigated for down-link transmissions associated with the single user and multiuser generalized detectors and is compared with that of the single user correlation detector and the multiuser decorrelating detector. Our study demonstra-tes that with appropriately selecting the system parameters, the broadband MC DS-CDMA wireless communi-cation system using the space-time spreading assisted transmit diversity constitutes a promising downlink tran-smission scheme. This scheme is capable to support ubiquitous communications over diverse communication environments without the BER performance degradation

As a convenient and efficient public transport system, high speed railway (HSR) was rapidly deployed in China. Since the fifth generation (5G) mobile communication system is commercially applied, it is necessary for mobile terminals antennas to cover multiple operating bands to be compatible with various communication systems. Here a HSR-mounted broadband and high-gain monopole antenna is proposed. By using the meander technology and introducing the tapered structure, the proposed antenna operates over a bandwidth of 694-960 MHz and 1350-5975 MHz (VSWR<1.8), which covers both 2G-5G mobile communication and WiFi frequency bands. The dimensions of the proposed antenna are 400 mm × 330 mm × 78 mm. The measured average gain is 6.11 dBi over the entire bandwidth.

Abstract:
A design of dual broadband antenna is proposed in this paper; it consists of one low frequency unit and two high frequency units. The low frequency unit consists of a pair of printing vibrators; the high frequency unit consists of a pair of printing oscillators, which is bent at its end, and high frequency unit and low frequency unit are set on the same dielectric substrate. Through adding a parasitic unit on antenna, it can enhance frequency bandwidth without affecting the bandwidth. In the high frequency unit, it adopts gap-coupled microstrip line feeding method in order to get enough bandwidth. Through the test of dual broadband antenna, it can be found that, in the low frequency part, the antenna covers 20% bandwidth of the total bandwidth, and it covers the frequency from 800 MHz to 980 MHz. In the high frequency, the antenna covers 60% of total bandwidth and its frequency is from 1540 MHz to 2860 MHz, so the designed antenna can satisfy the frequency requirements of 2G/3G/LTE (4G) communication system.

With the increase in mobile broadband utilization, more spectrum release is recommended by the Federal Communications Commission for spectrum sharing under a three-tire system called Citizens Broadband Radio Service. The standardization, functional and operational necessities of this framework are defined by the Wireless Innovation Forum. If an unavoidable shipborne radar appears on the channel, the channel must be vacated by the lower tier users. The timing constraints on CBRS is also stringent. Wireless stations transmit short beacon frames termed as heartbeat signals. These signals consist of the wireless channel encryption data, Service Set Identifier (SSID) and other credential data. These signals also transmit commands to vacate a channel. The heartbeat interval, timing constraint and domain proxy features are analyzed in this paper. CBSD renunciation and spectrum acquisition is performed with the help of domain proxy based communication. The CBRS-SAS channel allocation algorithm is further investigated. The communication interoperability and network robustness can improved with the introduction of secondary SAS and secondary domain proxy respectively.

Abstract:
Among the various industrial sectors in Singapore, healthcare was the first to exploit broadband technology. In 1997, the Singapore General Hospital installed a broadband backbone even before the technology was generally viable. Today, the system supports the transmission of high-quality X-rays, CT- and MRI-scanned images, and electrocardiogram. And the latest decision is to supplement the existing facilities with wireless technology. This paper examines the strategic use of infocomm technology in the healthcare sector focusing on some recent technologies such as electronic data interchange, the Internet, e-commerce, broadband network and wireless technology. The patient-friendliness and the intelligence level of the entire healthcare sector are also analyzed. Besides, the strong coupling between human minds and artificial infocomm systems in healthcare may have stretched the interactions between the two systems into the nonlinear domain. The consequences may be a more innovative development of new infocomm systems and a more strategic exploitation of infocomm technology.

Chaos-based communications are a promising application of chaos theory and nonlinear dynamics. Their key features include concealed transmission, high security, and native broadband signals. Many studies have recently been published devoted to this technology. However, the practical implementations of chaos-based communications are rare due to multiple shortcomings: high hardware requirements, complex signal processing algorithms, and a lack of efficient modulation techniques for chaotic signals. In this study, we consider a simple hardware prototype of a coherent chaos-based communication system based on a novel type of modulation: adaptive symmetry of the finite-difference scheme used in a chaos generator. We explicitly demonstrate the possibility of covertly transmitting data using a chaotic transmitter and receiver implemented in a general-purpose microcontroller unit. A comparison between traditional parameter and symmetry modulation is given through a return map analysis and bit error rate estimation. The communication secrecy is analyzed using quantified return map analysis. The obtained results confirm the possibility of creating chaos-based communication systems based on symmetry modulation.

Abstract:
Today, wireless communication is one of the most promising areas in the field of communications. Modern radio communication systems and facilities operate in a complex electronic environment. The development of next-generation wireless networks depends on both transmitting and receiving equipment, which must provide the high data rates needed to maintain a reliable level of interference protection. The main factors influencing the quality of radio communication are natural and intentional interference in the radio wave propagation channel, multi-beam propagation, bandwidth limitation and the need for asynchronous access. One of the possible methods of partial solution of the above problems is the use of extended spectrum communication systems. The article investigates the effectiveness of different types of phase modulation used for Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum systems. An idealized channel with additive white Gaussian noise was chosen as the radio wave propagation channel. It has been observed that Binary phase shift keying radio systems achieve better Bit error rate values than other systems. The research was conducted in the environment of dynamic interdisciplinary modeling of complex technical systems - Simulink (the main tool for model-oriented design), whose main interface is a graphical tool for charting and a flexible set of libraries of functional blocks. The simulation results showed that for a given data rate and under the influence of AWGN on the propagation channel, DSSS-BPSK was more resistant to the negative effects of white noise. Future research will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of the SSS communication system in the event of different types of interference.

Abstract:
Free space optics is a kind of broadband communication technique that transmits the signals, in the atmosphere through laser beams. In some cases, the laser beams are replaced with infrared and modified beams. Free Space Optics (FSO) is also referred as Free Space Photonics that works same as the principle of fiber optic communication where the source beams are transferred through air medium. In the traditional fiber optic communication, the optical fibers were used for transferring the beam signals. The FSO methodology is widely employed in various ubiquitous applications for their cost and deployment effectiveness. The motive of the work is to explore the concepts and theories behind the operation of different FSO models with their recent progress.

Abstract:
In this paper, a broadband septum dual circular polarized antenna with dielectric loaded is designed. In order to expand the bandwidth, the antenna uses the form of dielectric loaded in the waveguide and extends the dielectric to meet the miniaturization requirements, which can improve the Gain and the matching of waveguide. The simulation results show that in the 40% relative bandwidth, the VSWR is lower than 1.7. The isolation between the two input ports is lower than-10dB. Gain is larger than 7.5dB and the axial ratio is lower than 3.5dB.

Abstract:
Asymmetric manipulation of electromagnetic waves exhibits tremendous capabilities in the applications of encryption, ultrafast information processing, and communication. However, compact and broadband terahertz (THz) components for asymmetric applications are still scarce. Here, we demonstrate broadband, ultrathin, and efficient metasurface-based asymmetric transmission and wavefront manipulation in the THz region. The metasurface consists of tri-layer metallic structures separated by two flexible polyimide dielectrics. This ultrathin structure exhibits superior asymmetric response which can act as an efficient device with a high linear polarization conversion ratio over 0.9 ranging from 0.5 to 1.1 THz. We also develop THz asymmetric applications based on the flexible metasurface for beam deflector and orbital angular momentum generation. The THz time-domain spectroscopy system and spectral imaging system are used to characterize the broadband asymmetric properties. The experimental results confirm that the beam deflection and vortex waves can be realized over broadband under one linearly polarized incidence while blocked under its orthogonal incidence. This work may provide a promising route to achieve broadband asymmetric applications in information encryption, THz wireless communication, and spectroscopy applications.

Abstract:
In this study, we proposed an indoor broadband dual-polarized 2 × 2 MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) antenna having dimensions of 240 mm × 200 mm × 40 mm, for application in 5G wireless communication systems. The proposed antenna comprised two vertically polarized circular monopole antennas (CMAs), two horizontally polarized modified rectangular dipole antennas (MRDAs), and a ground plane. The distance between the two MRDAs (MRDA1 and MRDA2) was 70.5 mm and 109.5 mm in the horizontal (x-direction) and 109.5 mm vertical (y-direction) directions, respectively. Conversely, the distance between the two CMAs (CMA1 and CMA2) was 109.5 mm and 70.5 mm in the horizontal (x-direction) and vertical (y-direction) directions, respectively. While the CMAs achieved broadband characteristics owing to the optimal gap between the dielectric and the driven radiator using a parasitic element, the MRDAs achieved broadband owing to the optimal distance between the dipole antennas. The observations in this experiment confirmed that the proposed could operate in the 5G NR n46 (5.15–5.925 GHz), n47 (5.855–5.925 GHz), n77 (3.3–4.2 GHz), n78 (3.3–3.8 GHz), and the n79 (4.4–5 GHz) bands. Moreover, it exhibited a wide impedance bandwidth (dB magnitude of S11) of 101% in the 2.3–7 GHz frequency range, high isolation (dB magnitude of S21), low envelope coefficient correlation (ECC), gain of over 5 dB, and average radiation efficiency of 87.19%, which verified its suitability for application in sub-6 GHz 5G wireless communication systems.

Abstract:
Impedance transformer is highly desirable in systems such as microwave communication systems for compensating impedance mismatches. Such device that can perform over broadband frequencies find numerous applications. This article presents the design and investigation of a microstrip Klopfenstein tapered line impedance transformer, KTLI. In ideal condition, it must possess minimum passband reflection coefficient for a given taper length. For specific reflection coefficient, there is a minimum value of taper length. The investigation is based on analytical equations which were computed using MathCAD. The reflection coefficient and return loss responses were found to be in good agreement with theory. Broadband characteristics were observed.
