Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The limited radio frequency spectrum that can be used for transmission leads to bandwidth and power efficiency being a key requirement in the development of wireless access technology from 3G to 5G today. Data communication technology also requires this as mentioned on high speed network standards such as DSL, WLAN and WMAN with its products ADSL, WiFi and Wimax. In the last few decades we have seen the evolution of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation technique used in the technologies mentioned earlier to this day. This technique is regarded as a standard technology for broadband wireless access technology. In hardware implementation, the most preferred by many researchers is the Field Programmable Gate Array chip, as it can be reconfigured. The OFDM technique can be easily implemented because it uses Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms that are coding and programming capable of reducing the computational time of Discrete Fourier Transform. This paper discusses the implementation of the memory-based 1024-point IFFT / FFT for BWA communications. The design is focused on synthesizing and implementing the system block FFT 1024-point radix-4 using Decimation in Frequency (DIF) method. Implementation for IFFT / FFT 1024-point resource usage slice number 1%, the number of slice flip-flop 1%, the number 4 LUT (Look Up Table) 1%, and the number of IOB 27%. of the FPGA are used.

Abstract:
WiMAX (Worldwide Interpretability for Microwave Access) is one of the leader standards of broadband Wireless Access (BWA). This standard becomes a competitor of 4G or LTE (Long Terme Evolution) with the introduction of different class of service flow (UGS, rtPS, nrtPS, BE). Each service class has its own QoS requirements. Even if the standard specify the transmission policy of each service class, it recommends the implementation of an admission control (AC) without any specification. This task is let to the operator. In this paper, we propose an implementation of an AC algorithm mechanism for IEEE 802.16. The performance evaluation of these networks by analytical models is not easy due to the state space explosion, thus we use the Stochastic Automata Networks (SAN) formalism to model our proposed AC mechanism. With the SAN we calculate the rewards of the proposed AC and we show that the proposed solution is efficient.

Abstract:
In Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) networks, provisioning of Quality of Service (QoS) is absolutely essential for real time and non real time services. Congestion in these networks can lead to deterioration in QoS experienced by the network users. Congestion avoidance is rarely considered to ensure the QoS of wireless connections. Efforts are mainly aimed at reducing the overload once it has occurred. To avoid congestion at the base station in WiMAX networks, the WiMAX Fair Intelligent Congestion Control (WFICC) was proposed to ensure the traffic is scheduled in such a way that the base station output buffer operates around a target operating point without violating the QoS requirements of connections. The aim of this paper is to investigate WFICC thoroughly and evaluate its performance in terms of throughput, delay and jitter for different Classes of Services (CoSs) under various parameter settings of the algorithm. A detailed and comprehensive simulation study on various settings of parameters is performed in ns-2. The results show that WFICC performs excellently in allocating resources fairly among Class of Services (CoSs) and also preserves their QoS requirements. Furthermore, WFICC is robust and easily adapted to various traffic conditions.

Abstract:
LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) technology that allows high speed and a wide range of access. LTE is designed to meet the needs for Quality of Service (QoS), i.e. the ability to download up to 300 Mbps and upload up to 75 Mbps. This study investigated the impacts of user mobility on the LTE network for video streaming services. The approach employed in this study included multi-user with Distributed AntennaSystem (DAS) and various variations of user mobility speed. Observations were made on the condition of the user moving from one cell to another so that the handover occurred. The throughput value will increase by 33% and 47% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. In addition, the delay value will reduce by 66.32% an 67.58% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. Moreover, the PDR value will increase by 48.74% and 55.45% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. The use of a distributed antenna system (DAS) model on LTE network has resulted in improved quality of performance when the user streams a video.

Abstract:
There have been remarkable advancements in the field of broadband wireless access (BFWA) technologies. These technologies operate in microwave frequencies where rain attenuation is the most important factor leading to signal impairments. The use of cell site diversity (CSD) can help in overcoming the signal fading. During the event of rain, when the signal level falls below a particular threshold, the subscriber station switches to another base station in the coverage area. The CSD gain bears strong correlation with the angular separation between the various base stations. This paper analyses the effects of CSD gain on angular separation.

Abstract:
Mobile WiMAX is IEEE 802.16e standard established for mobile broadband wireless access (BWA). Mobility in WiMAX system is an important issue when the mobile station (MS) moves and be handover between base stations (BSs). This issue causes an unnecessary neighboring BS scanning and association, handover delay, and MAC overhead which may affect real-time applications. The MS movement direction prediction (MMDP) based MS scanning is used to reduce the number of scanning’s required in mobile WiMAX handover process. In this paper with reduction in number of scanning’s we propose to reduce the scanning delay required for evaluated two best target BSs by using concurrent scanning process. Network issues like ideal sectors in WiMAX 2 (IEEE 802.16m), network congestion and fast change in RSS are important parameters which can affect the QoS. With this proposed model we are able to provide the high quality hand over support in mobile WiMAX wherein we are able to solve the above stated network problems. Here on using the concurrent scanning process the authors are able to reduce the scanning delay by 40%. As a part of this paper, network layer parameters called routing protocols are analyzed for hand over support. This analysis shows an efficient routing protocol for real time application and the best effort service. This reviles that fisheye protocol is better to use for smaller network and LANMAR for the larger networks in real time application and IERP protocol is good for best effort services.

Abstract:
Broadband Wireless Access is a strategic opportunity for mobile operators which aim to provide connectivity in digital divide areas, in order to accelerate speed of deployment and save in installation costs. This paper presents an innovative approach to access the end user, relying on infrastructural integration of femtocellular technology with existing cabled network. Usually, the adoption of Femtocell Access Points, operating in the licensed cellular bands typically designed to be used in SOHO, improves the radio coverage and the building penetration of the existing mobile networks, based on macrocells. In the proposed solution, the peculiar functionality of femtocells is further improved using a MATV/SMATV cabled infrastructure which facilitates the signal connection inside the building. The potentiality of the solution is even more evident, taking into account the growing interest towards the possible deployment of new mobile technologies, like LTE in both the last portion of the UHF band V and the GSM frequency band, resulting from the re-farming process.

Abstract:
WiMAX (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) is one of the wireless broadband access technologies which supplies broadband services to clients, but it surpasses other technologies by its coverage area, where one base station can cover a small city. In this paper, WiMAX technology is studied by exploring its basic concepts, applications, and advantages / disadvantages. Also a MATLAB simulator is used to verify the operation of the WiMAX system under various channel impairments and for variety of modulation schemes. From the simulation results, we found that WiMAX system works well in both AWGN and multipath fading channels, but under certain constraints that are addressed in this paper.
