Abstract:
A treatise On the Trinity, once ascribed to Priscillian of Avila, but now more commonly held to be the work of a disciple, quotes the aphorism “the name of the Father is the Son” as an apostolic saying. In fact it appears to be a quotation of the Gospel of Truth, affinities to which are also visible in the teaching of this treatise on the procession of the Word from the Father, the role of the Holy Spirit in this procession, the universal bondage of the human race in oblivion, the revelation of the Father’s face to the elect, and the common brotherhood of the elect with Christ. After noting a further affinity between the Gospel of Truth and another Priscillianist writing, the article concludes with some reflections on the use of apocryphal literature in the fourth century by authors whose theology was in most respects orthodox.

Abstract:
There is a strain of paradox and ambiguity in Herzog by Saul Bellow. Overcome by senselessness and the incomprehensible in the world and in his own life, Herzog, an intellectual, has an immense desire for truth and clarity. He has spent his life talking to himself, but not the world. He is alone and insulated; yet he places emphasis on the value of friendship; he is alienated and masochistic, but he still dreams of brotherhood; he opposes cultural nihilism and the ‘Wasteland outlook’, yet he is, fundamentally, a depressive. These contradictions and ambiguities reveal to him the inadequacy of the intellect, which constitutes a ‘realm of confusion’. He discovers that clarity, truth and meaning may be grasped only through the intensity and perpetual commitment to their pursuit, which will keep the mind and the imagination working at their highest potential.

Abstract:
Abstract: Violence in the name of Islam is increasingly worrying. Mass murder, kidnapping and terror have spread throughout the world, including Indonesia. One of factors that caused those conditions is human failure in modern era. They lose their vision and spirituality. They learned divinity and religious doctrines instantly. It means that they just leaned those doctrines on the surface. While, the inner meaning of thariqat and haqiqat, are never been touch. As a result, they lost the truth and closed by power lust, selfish and self-righteous. In hence, religion becomes creepy. Then to eliminate this radicalism is by studying Sufism greater in depth, in order to gain batiniah knowledge. Its knowledge leads to the center of truth. And it manifests into beautiful forms, full of harmony and brotherhood. As the result, peaceful is reached without violence in the name of Islam.

Abstract:
The dynamics of Muslims are increasingly complex today. There are only some Muslims have adequate insights of religious knowledge. What is considered as a truth (absolute truth) relates to contestation of right opinions among them. The paper aims to describe the existence of good Muslims in the Qur'an based on the Jalālain interpretation or analysis which is very popular all over the world. A qualitative research using normative approach was done through the book interpretation of mauḍu'i and linguistics and sociohistorical with asbābun nuzūl used in this study to find out the meaning of the Qur'anic verses about good Muslims. The results of this study showed that first, good Muslims are those who are balanced and proportional in the piety of spiritual and social faith. Second, there were many definitions of good Muslims in the Qur'an which need to be addressed wisely because they are provocative and debatable such as the words hijrah and jihad. Finally, the study also showed that most substantial meanings of being a good Mulim maintained ukhwah (brotherhood values) and harmony among people.

Abstract:
Most scholars of new religious movements (NRMs) have tended to ignore the critiques of contemporary culture offered by postmodern theorists. This article attempts to show how several of these critical perspectives can offer innovative conceptual tools with which to analyze growth, change and "distortion" in these movements. The specific elements of postmodernity considered include: 1) hyper-pluralism, globalization, and the radical relativization of truth claims characteristic of postmodernity; 2) postmodernity's "domination of simulation," by which human experience comes to be increasingly mediated by synthetic images produced and disseminated by the mass media; and 3) ephemerality and the contraction of time characteristic of postmodernity. Two NRMs, Christ the Savior Brotherhood and Church Universal and Triumphant, are used as case studies to demonstrate the utility of these three postmodern conditions in interpreting developments in new religions.

"Faith Embodied in Attitudes: Ethics of Dialogue and Brotherhood of All People in the ‘Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together’ in Abu Dhabi and the Encyclical Fratelli Tutti." AUC THEOLOGICA 11, no. 1 (September 27, 2021): 61–81. http://dx.doi.org/10.14712/23363398.2021.4.

Abstract:
This text is concerned with the ethical approach of inter-faith relations and the dialogue of culture in two documents of Pope Francis: ‘On Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together’ and the encyclical Fratelli Tutti. This ethical approach refers to God the Creator of all and the call to brotherhood of all human beings and refers to faith as a response to Revelation. Faith also forms ethical approaches for interreligious dialogue. Pope Francis’ approach in the documents is that the theological truth and values of religious traditions are embodied in attitudes of social friendship. Francis challenges us to build a specific environment that he calls a ‘new culture of dialogue’, having frequently called for the growth of a culture of encounter that is capable of transcending political and social barriers and encourages creating a specific culture of social and ‘political love’.

Abstract:
In this paper, the author emphasizes the specific case of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian intraparty dispute in the context of the reconstruction of the republican leaderships in Yugoslavia, the change of “Croatian Spring participants” and “liberals” as well as the so-called “senior cadres” at the beginning of 1970s. Pasaga Mandzic's years-long dispute with the current political leadership in Tuzla and also in the Republic will touch upon various issues, from plans and results of economic and urban development, integration of enterprises, organization and activities of political and party leadership to establishing the "historical truth" about the events throughout the war years 1941 and 1942. Considering the current socio-political discourse, Mandzic will come out very boldly, demanding that it is finally time to "speak openly" about the actual war events, the consequences of Partisan-Chetnik cooperation at the end of 1941, the dominance of the Serb element in the communist leadership and its attitude towards the Bosniaks during the war, but also in the post-war period. The insistence on establishing the "real truth" entailed a revision of the existing image of a "glorious war past", which also raised the question of consistent application of the principles of brotherhood and unity. Ultimately, years of clarification resulted in the political elimination and moral discredit of Pasaga Mandzic.

Abstract:
The research attempted to explain the truth of the assumptions and accusations of some Muslims against the Covid-19 pandemic as a global conspiracy and to refute weak views and arguments related to it. This research applied descriptive qualitative methods using sociological, historical and heuristic approaches. The results showed that the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic as a disease was real, and not a conspiracy issue. The perceptions, arguments and understanding of some Muslims stating that the Covid-19 pandemic was a conspiracy had the potential effect to cause damage the life order as a state and society. In addition, if this understanding was not directed according to the correct Islamic guidance, it was worried that it would have a negative impact on the brotherhood and unity of Muslims. Some baseless assumptions and arguments regarding this epidemic can be answered, refuted and explained with strong and real arguments and evidence based on the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, valid narrations, and historical records of Muslims.

Abstract:

Moral values undoubtedly play a significant role in human life. These values are not only in religious texts (such as Qur’an, Hadits, Old Testament, Bible, Book of Psalms) but also in literatures. One of the examples is lyrics of Rhoma Irama’s song from 1970s to 1980s. This is a library research using a content analysis approach. Meanwhile, this research utilizes semiotic and hermeneutic methods. The findings show that the lyrics of Rhoma Irama’s song during 1970-1980 contained some moral values which could be implemented in personal life, family, society and religious life. The important values contained in such songs are amanah (trustful), as-siddiq (truth, honesty), al-‘adl (justice), al-rahmah (love), al-ukhuwah (brotherhood) and tasamuh (tolerance). The aforementioned values refer to two Islamic primary sources that are relevant to all times, in the past, present and future.

Abstract:
This article explores the Da‘wah Movement of Jamaah Tabligh in building religious community in Temboro Magetan. One one of the main teachings is the principle of ikrâm al-Muslim (honoring and respecting every Muslim). The principle makes the missionary movement acceptable to the Muslim community widely. This principle is really important for the creation of the unity of the Muslims in the name of ukhuwwah Islâmîyah (Islamic brotherhood). This principle prohibits a believer to guestion the religious stream, political choice, position, and social status and background of the individual community of individual Muslims. The principle eventually enables the tabligh community to adapt to different environments and preaching fileds in building religious community. Initially, people did not respond the tabligh mission in Temboro, but it did not dampen the spirit of tablighis to preach. They remain persistent and patient in fighting for the truth of Islam. Their goal is to liven the passion of high religiosity.
