Diploma thesis on a topic Public Relations in Practice of Small and Medium Enterprises is analyzing the PR activities in a small consulting company, which is operating in Prague. The first chapter is focused on the theoretical background of public relations activities. In the chapter there are also discussed various forms of PR and their usage in the present. The comparision of public relations with common elements ATL communication is there also mentioned. The second half of the thesis is devoted to the consulting company. In the thesis there are cited the specific tools of public relations within the company and proposals for their adjustement. The last chapters deal with the cost benefit analysis of public relations, even in comparison with the outsourcing of PR agencies.

This Master's thesis puts focus on BTL communication of the brands Staropramen Cool Lemon and Staropramen Cool Grep and the intensity of the communication perception by the consumer. The aim of the thesis is to examine the touch points of the BTL communication and to identify key attributes of the brand and also to confirm or to defy defined hypothesis about communication's impact on consumption and television campaign influence. The thesis is divided into several chapters that logically links to each other and thus create one complex whole. The theoretical part concerns the methodological approach of marketing research and consumer models and introduces the readers to marketing integrated communication. The main chapter describes the market and competition, includes the questionnaire part and the analyses themselves. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part important terms like marketing mix, marketing communications, target group and marketing goals are explained. There are also described the individual marketing tools of the marketing mix, which are divided into ATL and BTL marketing tools. The whole thesis is focused on BTL marketing activities like sales promotion, direct marketing and new media. The practical part includes the case study about BTL activities of the company Coca-Cola HBC Česká republika. There is a detailed description of the currently released communication campaign of the new flawoured water Bonaqua. The objektive of the thesis is to point out that BTL activities are more effective when trying to influence the customer and to demonstrate the increasing significance of BTL marketing activities.

This thesis deals with event marketing into integrated marketing communications. The main objective is to assess the effectiveness and appropriateness of selected methods in the selected company. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first chapter describes the theoretical and the elements of marketing communication and clarifies the issue of event marketing. The theoretical knowledge applied in the Energy Media Publishing Ltd. and specifically its product - the magazine Do kabelky, his performance is part of the second chapter in the situational analysis. The third chapter is devoted to marketing research, which is processed in the form of primary research interviews with the event experts and target group publishing - magazine reader. Finally, in the fourth chapter, I propose that event marketing strategy, which will draft a specific event.

The aim of the thesis is to propose a suitable communication strategy for a newly established language school that should start operating in a rather small czech town. The theoretic part includes an explanation of terminology and types of research used in marketing communication, description of ATL, BTL and PR communication, a few words about the importance of Corporate Identity (basis for communication) and description of tools that are used in the application part of the thesis. Este trabalho tem como objetivo fornecer contribuições metodológicas à implementação da tecnologia PLC/BPL em seus diversos ambientes reais de instalação. São apresentados os aspectos básicos envolvidos, princípio de operação, as topologias das redes PLC, vantagens e desvantagens e exemplos de aplicação. Além disso, são apresentadas as contribuições deste trabalho, as quais visam estabelecer procedimentos no desenvolvimento dos projetos de redes de comunicação que utilizam a tecnologia PLC, assim como procedimentos de instalação nos diversos ambientes reais e os procedimentos para o comissionamento das redes implantadas. São destacados os aspectos relacionados às redes comerciais, as quais possuem inúmeros requisitos de desempenho, manutenção preventiva e/ou corretiva, além dos aspectos financeiros dos projetos e os pontos importantes para atendimento da legislação atualmente em vigor. Finalmente, para cada procedimento apresentado, o mesmo é contextualizado através da apresentação de um caso prático associado.<br>This work aims to provide methodological contributions to PLC/BPL implementations in their several real installation environments. It is presented the basic aspects of the technology as well as the operation principle, the networks topologies, the advantages and the disadvantages and application examples. Furthermore, it is presented the contributions of this work, which goal is to establish procedures related to projects developments of PLC communication networks, some procedures related to the installation process in their real environments and the procedures for commissioning a deployed network. It is emphasized the commercial networks aspects, which demand several performance requirements, the preventive and/or corrective maintenance, as well as the financial aspects and the main topics to comply with the current regulation. Finally, every presented procedure is exemplified with a real case in order to demonstrate its practical functionality.

Abstract:
The research conducted focused on the media practices by a South Korean band « BTS » and the named fandom « A.R.M.Y ». Through the use of Twitter, the research consisted in making use of BTS’s Twitter posts to study what they are doing on social media in order to engage fans, as well as the type of practices that are being executed. The second part of the study investigated the fandoms’ interaction, participation, and online engagement in regard to the media content tweeted by the south Korean band. Mix methods were used in order to answer the three research questions that were presented for this research. An analysis of media practices was conducted through a content analysis then followed by an online survey. The analysis highlighted that shared practices and regular media use were an important factor in the creation of a participatory culture. Culture was also shown to be an important component to the generation of fan engagement and artist interaction with their respective fandom. In addition, through fans high participation in online activities, the investigation was able to demonstrate that fans developed shared practices and shared identities, which were emerged from their activities. Furthermore, BTS members have shown that their cultural habits were important for engaging fans. Overall, the results of this study concluded that media practices are various and are executed in ways that allow the South Korean band to keep an online relationship with their fans through diverse media content that is published on their own personal managed Twitter account. In response to that, fans have shown a constant interactions and engagements by liking, retweeting, commenting to the bands’ tweets, along with other different activities that have been demonstrated in the analysis chapter.    Keywords: Social Media, K-pop, Fandom, Digital media practices, Participatory culture, engagement and interaction, Twitter

Abstract:
<p>In modern cars a lot of effort is put on reducing the background noise level. Despite these efforts it is often difficult for persons in the rear seat(s) to hear the persons in the front seat. This is partly due to the background noise, but also geometry and acoustics properties of the passenger compartment. </p><p>The aim of this thesis was to implement a speech enhancement system to increase the audibility between the driver and the rear passenger(s). The speech enhancement system should not affect the directivity of the speech or increase the background noise level. </p><p>A speech enhancement system has been implemented on a DSP in a test car. A microphone was placed in front of the driver to collect his/her speech. The microphone signal was bandpass filtered to remove the main part of the background noise and to avoid aliasing. The signal was delayed before it was sent out in the rear loudspeaker. The delay made the speech from the driver reaching the rear passenger before the sound the rear loudspeakers. This delay was enough to get the right directivity of the sound, i.e. making speech sounding as if it came from the driver instead of the rear loudspeakers. </p><p>In the thesis other methods to reduce background noise and get directivity of the sound were evaluated, but not implemented in the test car. The evaluations of the system showed that the audibility was increased. At the same time the background noise level was not noticeable increased. The work has been performed at A2 Acoustics AB in Linköping, during spring 2003.</p>

L'objectif de cette thèse est d'enrichir la compréhension des processus communicationnels par lesquels les outils de gestion contribuent à structurer les organisations. Quel sens et quelles significations sont produits et reproduits lors de la circulation des documents comptables et gestionnaires dans les entreprises ? Le travail de terrain a porté sur le processus budgétaire des chantiers dans deux filiales d'une entreprise du secteur du BTP. La première partie étudie les régulations qui organisent les activités de production de l'information budgétaire, en l'occurence l'ensemble des activités qui contribuent à élaborer le document budgétaire prévisionnel d'un chantier et à analyser périodiquement les écarts entre les prévisions et les réalisations. Ces régulations donnent lieu à une invention organisationnelle, à une production de textes dans et sur la procédure. La notion de fabrique du budget rend compte de ce qu'un budget se présente sous la forme d'un système de documents hybrides, pluri adressés et pluri supports qui subit de multiples transformations lors de son élaboration et de sa mise en forme par des acteurs divers. La seconde partie étudie comment ce système textuel structure des interactions de face-à-face significatives de la rencontre des points de vue opérationnels et gestionnaires : des réunions mensuelles de suivi budgétaire consacrées à prévoir des résultats, mesurer des écarts et décider d'actions correctrices. La production d'un sens partiellement partagé entre ces logiques différentes dans leurs langages, leurs rationalités et leurs justifications est analysée. La notion d'acte de calcul permet de caractériser en quoi le langage des chiffres exerce une influence pragmatique qui intervient dans la dynamique d'interdépendance entre des processus communicationnels et de la production de documents. Il a été observé un travail d'interaction, de positionnement par rapport aux règles de production des comptes, dont l'analyse fait émerger une dimension importante des modes de management contemporain et de leurs évolutions. Outil de contrôle et de décision, le budget est aussi le résultat d'un travail informationnel qui suit des normes propres, telles que les normes d'esthétique des comptes et de mise en scène de la compétence gestionnaire<br>The aim of this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the communication processes through which management tools structure organisations. What meanings are produced and reproduced during the circulation of accounting and management documents in businesses ? The field work addressed the budgetary process of building sites in two subsidiaries of a business in the building sector. The first part studies the regulations that structure the processes of producing budgetary information. These processes are constituted by a set of activities which contribute to the development of a provisional budget document for a site and which periodically analyse the differences between the forecasts and the outcomes. These regulations give rise to an organizational invention, a production of texts in and on the procedure. The notion of fabrique du budget emphasizes the fact that a budget appears in the form of hybrid documents which are multiply addressed and multiply backed up. This budget undergoes many transformations during its development and finalization by various actors. The second part studies how this textual system structures face-to-face interactions. The observations was carried out during monthly meetings dedicated to the budget in order to check the outcomes, measure shortfalls and decide corrective actions. It analyses the production of an interpretation at least partially shared between the operational and the management frameworks different in their terminologies, their aims and their justifications. The notion of actes de calcul enables understanding of how the language of numbers exerts a practical effect which intervenes during the dynamic interplay between communication processes and the production of documents. There are processes of interaction and positioning with respect to the rules for producing accounts, whose analysis brings out important characteristics of contemporary management. The budget is a method of decision and control, but it is also the result of an informational process that follows its own norms, such as the norms of the aesthetic of accounts and the display of managerial competence

A team of graduate students from Brigham Young University under the supervision of the main author Dr. Lynn Henrichsen collaborated on creating a book, as well as a website, Basic Training and Resources for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (BTR TESOL). The entire project consists of 10 sections with nearly 50 units addressing topics that novice teachers should know before teaching English to non-native speakers. The BTR TESOL program provides basic material for untrained novice teachers that will help them to be better prepared to face the challenges and responsibilities of teaching English. This write-up describes the creation of two units titled "Basic Principles of Second Language Acquisition" and "Communicative Language Teaching and Information Gap Exercises." The first unit, "Basic Principles of Second Language Acquisition," educates novice teachers about some of the basic theoretical concepts of second language acquisition that can be applied directly to teaching. It also includes a discussion of variables that can affect second language acquisition. The second unit, "Communicative Language Teaching and Information Gap Exercises," introduces novice teachers to basic principles of the communicative approach and the steps involved in the creation and implementation of information gap exercises. Both units include an opening scenario and a list of the objectives of the unit. Following the main content, there is an audio or video segment related to the theme of each unit as well as reflection questions. Målet med examensarbetet har varit att samla information åt ett tekniskt konsultföretag för att öka deras kunskap om autonoma system och fordonskommunikation. Statusen på arbetet kring dessa aktiva säkerhetssystem hos olika aktörer och hur systemen implementeras i dagens och framtidens fordon har undersökts genom omfattande litteraturstudier, intervjuer och marknadsanalyser. De autonoma systemen kan samla information från omgivningen genom sensorer och bidra till ett jämnare trafikflöde, ökad säkerhet, lättare bilar och bättre miljö. Genom fordonskommunikationen kan fordon kommunicera med varandra samt infrastrukturen och garantera en säker bilfärd. År 2030 utgörs innerstaden av autonom, elektrifierad kollektivtrafik för att transportera människor på begäran, samtidigt som personbilar till viss del förbjuds. Potentiella behov för människan i en fullt autonom bil har identifierats och diverse produktutvecklingsmetoder har tillämpats för att utforma två konceptuella lösningar för en framtida bilinteriör. Lösningarna visar interaktionen mellan människa och system eftersom underhållning och bekvämlighet blir viktigt i en fullt autonom bil. Respektive lösning är statsägd och rymmer fyra passagerare. I lösningarna är sittplatserna placerade på ett sätt som underlättar kommunikation mellan passagerarna. Passagerarna kan underhållas eller informeras individuellt eller gemensamt via text, ljud och bild.<br>The goal with this thesis project has been to collect information for a technical consulting company in order to increase their knowledge about autonomous systems and vehicular communication. The status of how various operators work with active safety systems and how the systems are implemented in current and future vehicles has been investigated through extensive literature studies, interviews and market research. The autonomous systems can collect information from the surrounding through sensors and contribute to better traffic efficiency, increased safety, lighter cars and a better environment. Through vehicle communication, the vehicle can communicate with each other in order to guarantee a safe ride. In 2030 the inner city constitutes of autonomous, electrified public transport to transport people on demand, meanwhile private cars are prohibited. Potential needs for the human in a fully, autonomous car has been identified and various product development methods has been applied in order to develop two conceptual solutions for a future car interior. The solutions show the interaction between human and system since entertainment and comfort becomes important in a fully, autonomous car. Each solution is state-owned and holds four passengers. In the solutions, the seats are placed in regard to facilitate communication between the passengers. The passengers can be entertained or informed individually or collectively by text, sound and images.

Abstract:
This case study research examines the impact of transmedia storytelling on the global reach of Korean-pop (K-pop) group BTS (Bangtan sonyeondan) and how narratives within the transmedia storyworld can motivate the audience to seek individual and social change. This study is inspired by the rise of BTS in the global music industry. The group came with a solid brand image, highlighting sincerity and authenticity that captivate audiences worldwide. BTS consistent messages—that intersect with sustainability issues—about the importance of loving oneself, equality, social justice, anxiety, and wellbeing are communicated through multiple platforms and travel across language and cultural barriers. To understand the context, this study uses the concepts of transmedia storytelling and audience engagement by Jenkins (2006, 2007, 2012, 2014), Gambarato (2019), Broesma (2019), and Askwith (2007), to name a few. The method used to conduct this research is the analytical and operational model of transmedia design by Gambarato et al. (2020). The findings are that transmedia storytelling —with spreadability, drillability, extractability, and immersion characteristics—is an effective communication strategy that significantly influences the global reach of the group. Further, the camaraderie between BTS and ARMY generates fan activism—an epitome of individual change due to the fondness to BTS, as the act of identification and the attitude of giving back to the intimacy that BTS members provide to the fandom.

With the tendency of agile work space and remote working, the importance of communication tools, especially the computer-mediated ones, is highlighted in increasing employees’ overall work-performance. Car, as a place where people spend most of time, is somewhere business-related communication could be conducted. However, the method of finding important communication tools from the perspective of software development and the method to design a business-communication application (BCA) in a car machine are still in exploration. The purpose of this master thesis is to design a function structure of businesscommunication application and its prototype in a car machine, to help employees increase their work performance. Bilen, som är en plats där människor tillbringar mycket tid, skulle kunna användas för arbetsrelaterad kommunikation. Men metoderna för att hitta viktiga kommunikationsverktyg ur perspektivet av mjukvaruutveckling och metoderna för att utforma en affärskommunikationsapplikation i en bil är fortfarande under utveckling.Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utforma funktionsstrukturen och prototypen som svarar mot denna för arbetsrelaterad kommunikation i bilar för att hjälpa anställda att upprätthålla arbetskapaciteten. La question de la place de l'écrit dans la procédure orale est délicate. Cette procédure repose sur deux caractéristiques : la première est une absence de représentation obligatoire, la seconde repose sur des échanges uniquement verbaux. Le Code de procédure civile ne prévoit pas en détail le régime de l’écrit dans cette procédure, il se contente de répéter une même formule pour tous les tribunaux : les parties « peuvent également se référer aux prétentions et aux moyens qu'elles auraient formulés par écrit. Les prétentions des parties sont notées au dossier ou consignées dans un procès-verbal ». Face à l’utilisation récurente de l’écrit dans les procédures sans représentation obligatoire, un régime prétorien est intervenu en décidant que l’écrit n'est qu'un outil accessoire à l’oralité. Toutefois, depuis 2010, les réformes législatives successives ont conféré à l'écrit une valeur autonome. Ainsi, l'écrit a la faculté d’être un moyen d'expression à part entière utilisable par les parties assistées ou non. Cette évolution résulte en pratique d’une marginalisation de l'oralité par les professionnels, notamment du fait de ses difficultés d’adaptation aux principes du procès. L'écrit ouvre la perspective pour la procédure orale de compléter les failles structurelles de l'oralité<br>The written procedure place in the oral one is a sensitive question. This oral procedure rests on two features : the first one is the absence of mandatory legal représentation, the second one rests on verbal exchange only. Civil procedure rules don’t anticipate in detail the written procedure place in the oral one, they only repeat the same phrase for every courts : « the parties may refer to claims and means they would formulate in writing as well. The parties’ claims are written in the case or recorded in the minutes. Facing the recurrent use of the writing in the procedures without mandatory legal representation, case laws stepped in deciding that the writing is only a subsidiary tool for the oral procedure. Notwithstanding, since 2010, the successive legislative reforms grant the writing its own authority. Thereby, the writing has the ability to be a fully fledged means of expression that may be used by the assisted parts or not. In practice, this evolution results from a marginalising of the oral procedure by the professionals, especially because of its difficulties to be compatible with the trial principles. The writing offers the prospect for the oral procedure to complete its structural loopholes

BPL technology is quite widespread nowadays and the public is also somewhat aware of it. This technology can be used as a means of communication without the need to install additional media and thus use the existing infrastructure. In an effort to use the full potential of the technology, BPL communication began to be used to monitor the current state of cables in distribution networks online. Where the technology is already fully implemented, the distributor can use the data to evaluate the current situation. In this way, BPL technology can be used as a diagnostic tool to test the quality of a cable connection on which not only time but also humidity and other external influences could have a significant effect.

For so much, he/she came, for first, the allusive theoretical referencial to the characteristics of the communication process and their implications in the judicial expertise, with emphasis for the verifiable noises in each stage, and, at the end of that stage, the own expertise concept was discussed, to the light of the communication process. Soon afterwards, field research was accomplished in the city of Florian??polis / SC with magistrates, experts and lawyers with the purpose of verifying, indeed, there are noises in the process of communication accounting forensic accounting, regarding those issuing ones and addressees of the messages and where those noises ponder. The results revealed, among other aspects, that there are differences in relation to the expertise concept, their procedures and rites, on the part of the magistrates, lawyers and experts and that, probably, in function of the common repertoire, there is adult alignment among the lawyers' opinions and of the magistrates. Like this, the accounting judicial expertise can give his/her contribution, for the society, with the offer of more didactic and clear decisions, with larger quality of the information pericial generating better understanding conditions on the part of the users and users of decision, but so that that happens is necessary to know the communication process, to formulate appropriate messages to the addressees' repertoire, avoiding the noxious effects of the noises.<br>O objetivo geral desse trabalho ?? identificar se h?? ru??dos que possam comprometer o processo da comunica????o pericial judicial cont??bil. Abstract:
Le lupus érythémateux disséminé (LED) est une maladie auto-immune systémique caractérisée par une inflammation provoquant des lésions dans de nombreux organes tels que les reins, les poumons ou la peau. Dans cette pathologie, une activation excessive du système immunitaire conduit à la production d’auto-anticorps dirigés, le plus souvent, contre du matériel nucléaire. La différenciation des lymphocytes B (LB) en cellules productrices d’anticorps requiert une communication entre les LT et les LB. Ce dialogue est régulé par de nombreux acteurs cellulaires et moléculaires afin de permettre la mise en place d’une réponse humorale efficace en cas d’infections, mais aussi de prévenir le développement de maladies auto-immunes. Mon projet de thèse a consisté à étudier l’implication de deux de ces acteurs, l’un favorisant la différenciation des LB en plasmocytes, à savoir, les cellules T folliculaires auxiliaires (TFH) et le second régulant négativement l’activation lymphocytaire, le récepteur co-inhibiteur BTLA (pour B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator) dans le LED chez l’Homme. Au cours de cette étude, nous avons d’une part amélioré les connaissances concernant les sous-populations de TFH circulantes humaines, en décrivant que parmi les cellules TFH CXCR3-CCR6- sont retrouvées des cellules aux propriétés suppressives. De plus, nous avons suggéré que la contraction des TFH1 (CXCR3+CCR6-) au profit des TFH2 (CXCR3-CCR6-), observées chez les patients lupiques, pourrait être le reflet d’une migration des TFH1 vers les organes inflammés. D’autre part, nous avons mis en évidence un défaut fonctionnel de BTLA dans les LT CD4+ de patients lupiques. Ce défaut, restauré en normalisant le métabolisme lipidique des LT CD4+, semble associé à la sévérité de la pathologie. En parallèle de ces observations, nous avons démontré un défaut d’expression de BTLA sur les LB et les LT CD4+ régulateurs de patients lupiques. L’ensemble de nos données sont prometteuses et ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives thérapeutiques pour le traitement du LED<br>Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by lesions in several organs such as kidneys, lungs and skin for instance. In this pathology, an excessive activation of the immune system leads to the production of autoantibodies targeting mainly nuclear antigens. B cell differentiation into antibody-secreting cells requires a close collaboration between T and B cells. This cross-talk is regulated by various cellular and molecular factors in order to mount an efficient humoral response in case of infection, but also to prevent autoimmune disease development. The aim of my thesis was to study two regulating factors of the B cell response, one promoting the B cell differentiation into plasma cells, i.e the follicular helper T cells (TFH) and the other one inhibiting lymphocyte activation, i.e a co-inhibitory receptor called BTLA (« B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator ») in human SLE. In this study, we first improved our knowledge concerning human circulating TFH cells, by describing among the CXCR3-CCR6- TFH cell subset, a population with suppressive capacities. Moreover, we suggested that the decreased frequency of TFH1 in lupus patients’ blood could be explained by the migration of these cells into inflamed tissues. We also highlighted a BTLA functional deficiency in lupus CD4+ T cells. This deficiency, which can be restored by normalizing the lipid metabolism, seems to be associated to disease severity. Furthermore, we described an altered expression of BTLA in lupus B cells and regulatory T cells. Altogether, our data show promising results and suggest new potential therapeutic strategies for lupus treatment

This thesis examines the years bracketing the summer of 1876, when Renoir was a resident on the Butte Montmartre and executed the Bal du Moulin de la Galette . The social and historical resonances of Renoir's work during this period are investigated, including his engagement with themes prevalent in French popular lithography and vaudeville theatre. While Bal du Moulin de la Galette is an ubiquitous image of the Impressionist movement, it is little studied as a site of potential symbolic meaning, especially following the period of the Franco-Prussian war and the Commune between 1870-71. Through archival research and a reevaluation of secondary sources a clear relationship is established between Renoir, Republican politics and French literature, particularly the Parnassian movement in poetry.<br>Cette thèse examine les années avant et après de l’été de 1876, quand Renoir habitait sur la Butte Montmartre et a exécuté le Bal du Moulin de la Galette. Ces années dans la carrière de Renoir sont choisi à examiner plus profondément des résonances historiques et sociales de cette oeuvre, y compris l’engagement de Renoir avec les thèmes de la lithographie populaire et les vaudevilles. Tandis que le Bal du Moulin de la Galette est très bien connu dans la contexte de l’impressionnisme, le tableau lui-même est peu étudié comme document de son époque dans la période suivante la Guerre et la Commune entre 1870-71. Au moyen de l’étude des sources archivales et secondaires, un rapport est établi entre Renoir, la politique Républicaine et la littérature fran;aise, particulièrement avec le mouvement parnassien en poésie.

We aim to understand how these agents resignify self-help literature in contemporary times, conceiving what we denominate “entrepreneurial self-help” (CASAQUI, 2017a). On the agenda, there is the maximum recurrence that everyone can, and should, be entrepreneurs regardless of any personal or financial barrier. In this scenario, it was possible to understand that these discourses intend to consolidate “conduct models” (EHRENBERG, 2010) that reinforce the idea of “selfentrepreneurship” and high performance as essential qualities to achieve success. Such discourses present themselves as “recipes”, prescriptions based on “exemplary life histories”, reiterating the logics of justification of the new “spirit of capitalism” (BOLTANSKI; CHIAPELLO, 2009). It is also through the production and circulation of these narratives in the media that these entrepreneurial agents become contemporary celebrities, and it’s the final proof that legitimates their advices. Therefore, we propose a critical view of this phenomenon, in order to understand how the discursivity is constructed in these entrepreneur’s life histories, through the Discourse Analysis theoretical-methodological proposal, based on Foucault’s discursive categories (2008b), related to life course’s analysis proposed by Giele and Elder Jr. (1998). The discourses, in the “foucaultian approach”, are practices that operate in the “leading of conduct”. Regarding the findings of the analyzed discourses, it was possible to perceive the following characteristics: the testimony as a discourse format; the constitution of a biographical space (ARFUCH, 2010); the mission of prescribing conducts and moral profiles through the inspiration (understood as culture and as communicational process); “entrepreneurial self-help” as the main discursive strategy; moral attributes constituent of the entrepreneurial culture as overcoming challenges (daily and business), goals, passion for work, to justify entrepreneurship as the best alternative for the construction of a “better world”, an “entrepreneurial society” (DRUCKER, 2011). In summary, entrepreneurship, as na economic and social conduct, allows the current neoliberal system to include more subjects in their rationalities, processes and, self-blame.<br>O presente estudo tem como tema principal as relações entre comunicação, consumo e cultura empreendedora, e como objeto de estudo as narrativas de vida biográficas e autobiográficas de empreendedores brasileiros, no caso, Bel Pesce e Flávio Augusto da Silva, presentes em seus diversos suportes midiáticos digitais. O objetivo é compreender como esses agentes ressignificam a literatura da autoajuda na contemporaneidade, concebendo o que chamamos de “autoajuda empreendedora” (CASAQUI, 2017a). Em pauta, está a recorrência da máxima de que todos podem, e devem, ser empreendedores, independentemente de qualquer barreira pessoal ou financeira. Neste cenário, foi possível entender que estes discursos pretendem consolidar “modelos de conduta” (EHRENBERG, 2010) que reforçam a ideia do “empreendedorismo de si” e da alta performance como qualidades essenciais para se alcançar o sucesso. Tais discursos se apresentam como “receitas”, prescrições baseadas em “histórias de vida exemplares”, que reiteram as lógicas de justificação do novo “espírito do capitalismo” (BOLTANSKI; CHIAPELLO, 2009). É, também, por meio da produção e circulação dessas narrativas na mídia, que estes agentes do empreendedorismo se transformam em celebridades midiáticas contemporâneas, sendo o atestado final que legitima seus conselhos. Dessa maneira, propomos aqui uma visão crítica desse fenômeno, a fim de compreender como se constrói a discursividade nas histórias de vida destes empreendedores, por meio da proposta teórico-metodológica da Análise de Discurso, a partir de Foucault (2008b), relacionada com a análise de percurso de vida proposta por Giele e Elder Jr. (1998). Os discursos, na abordagem foucaultiana, são práticas que operam na “condução da conduta”. No caso dos discursos analisados nesta pesquisa, foi possível perceber as seguintes características: o testemunho como formato de discurso; a constituição de um espaço biográfico (ARFUCH, 2010); a missão de prescrever condutas e perfis morais a partir da inspiração (entendida como cultura e como processo comunicacional); a autoajuda empreendedora como principal estratégia discursiva; atributos morais constituintes da cultura empreendedora como superação, metas, paixão pelo trabalho, para justificar o empreendedorismo como a melhor alternativa para a construção de um “mundo melhor”, de uma “sociedade empreendedora” (DRUCKER, 2011). Conclui-se que o empreendedorismo enquanto conduta econômica e social permite que o sistema neoliberal vigente englobe mais sujeitos em suas racionalidades, processos e culpabilizações.

Les jeunes apprenants français de BTS de l’École Nationale d’Industrie Laitière et des Biotechnologies (ENILBio) de Poligny, bien qu’ayant reçu un enseignement de plusieurs années en anglais langue étrangère, éprouvent souvent des difficultés à comprendre, mais surtout à s’exprimer oralement dans cette langue. En tant qu’enseignante, c’est un problème auquel je me heurte quotidiennement sans parvenir à trouver des explications et des solutions.Le but de cette recherche est d’explorer les raisons qui expliquent la gêne souvent ressentie par les étudiants au contact de l’anglais oral qu’ils sont amenés à parler dans le contexte scolaire et extra-scolaire, et de s’interroger sur leurs pratiques (dans la classe et hors de celle-ci) et représentations. Ce travail tente donc de comprendre pourquoi les élèves de BTS ne s’expriment pas, peu ou mal, en mettant en lien leurs expériences de la langue et leurs représentations, et en étudiant leur degré réel de compétence en expression orale.Cette recherche laisse une large place à la parole des élèves, que j’ai mise en évidence au travers de questionnaires et d’entretiens individuels en français. Les résultats qualitatifs et quantitatifs recueillis au cours de ces étapes sont mis en relation avec les données d’une tâche d’expression orale à laquelle les étudiants volontaires ont bien voulu se soumettre.Si l’influence du cadre institutionnel semble jouer un rôle primordial dans la (non) prise de parole des jeunes à l’école et en dehors de ses murs, les liens entre représentations de l’anglais, représentations de soi en tant qu’apprenant de langue et exposition à celle-ci sont plus difficiles à déterminer.Quelles sont alors les perspectives pour aider les apprenants de BTS à améliorer leurs compétences orales ? Ce travail tente d’ouvrir des voies pour répondre à cette question<br>Although French learners studying at BTS level at the National School of Dairy Industry and Biotechnologies (ENILBio) in Poligny have studied English as a second language for several years, they often have difficulty not only understanding it, but more importantly speaking it. As a teacher, it is a problem I am faced with daily and to which I haven’t been able to find explanations or solutions.The aim of this research is to explore the reasons that explain why students often feel embarrassed when they have to speak the language in and outside school, and to question their own practices and representations. This work aims at understanding why BTS students don’t speak English – or speak it little or badly – by linking their experiences with the language, their representations and their actual speaking skills.This research emphasizes what students have to say about this subject through questionnaires and face-to-face interviews in French. The gathered qualitative and quantitative results are analysed in relation to a speaking task which was carried out by student volunteers.The institutional context plays a crucial part in the fact that students speak English (or not) in and outside school, but the links between the representations of the English language, the students’ representations of themselves as language learners and their exposure to the language remain unclear.What are the prospects to help BTS learners to improve their speaking skills? This research tries to open new ways to answer this question

Vår kandidatarbetstid har resulterat i nio stycken småfilmer som är till för att ge mer information om BTH och regionen för nyfikna. Fyra av dessa filmer innerhåller lite mer information om region, boende/kommunikationer, skolan och det studiesociala. Syftet med dessa fyra filmer är att blanda in BTH på olika sätt, att man sätter skolan som en röd tråd även i region och bostadsfrågorna. Vi gjorde även fyra stycken studentintervjuer, för att visa vad nuvarande studenter tycker om bostadsmöjligheterna och det studiesociala mm. Vi ville även visa att det finns folk från Kiruna i norr till Lund i Söder, som går på skolan, och att det finns många olika typer av människor som du får möjlighet att lära känna om du börjar studera här. Det blir variation och man tar till sig det som sägs på ett annat sätt, än i de mer traditionella informationsfilmerna. Sist men inte minst så gjorde vi en mässfilm som innehåller bilder och ord från de fyra informationsfilmerna, och som ska fånga upp ett intresse på kort tid. I den här mässfilmen har vi även inkluderat en showreel som visar några utav de projekt som har gjorts av studenter på BTH.<br>Our work with the Bachelors thesis has resulted in nine short informational movies which have as a purpose to give information about BTH ( Blekinge Institute of Technology ), and the region to interested people. Four of these movies include information on the region, living/transportation, the school and the social amenities provided for the students. We have also made four movies about different students from BTH. We want to show that there are students from Kiruna in the north to Lund in the south, and that there are many different kinds of people you can meet when you begin your time as a student here. Due to the fact that there are nine different movies there will be variation, and you will accept the information in a better way than in traditional informational movies. Last but not least, we made an event movie which does not include a speaker text but instead communicates through the clips and the music in it. In this movie there is also a showreel with different projects from students on BTH.<br>Detta är en reflektionsdel till en digital medieproduktion.

Vi verkar i en musikindustri där de med makt får mer makt och de utan makt får ännu mindre makt. Musiker och producenter är vårdslösa i sitt medskapande av industrin genom att jaga kändisskap och uppmärksamhet vilket skapat kryphål för affärsverksamheter att ta etiska ställningar om de vill utnyttja det eller inte. Dessa socialkulturella normer och moralstrukturer kommer till ytan genom att ifrågasätta bland annat när en musiker “lyckats” och vad en musiker är och ställa sig frågan varför. På så sätt utforskar vi gråzoner i våra kulturella värdegrunder. Eftersom musikindustrin växer rhizomatiskt kommer jag kartlägga och synliggöra vad som utgör de maktstrukturer som existerar, därefter kommer jag med rhizomatik och experimenterande design som metod utforska flyktlinjer i form av en musikproduktion där vi rör oss mellan maktstrukturer i alla dess former.<br>We operate in a music industry where the ones with power get more power and those with  less power gets even less of it. Musicians and producers are reckless in their co-creation of the industry by hunting attention and fame which have created loopholes for businesses to make ethical decisions if they want to exploit it or not. These social-cultural norms and moral structures floats to the surface by questioning, among other things, when a musician have “succeded” and what we define as a musician. In that way we explore the grey areas in our cultural values. Since the music industry grows rhizomatically, I will map and highlight what constitutes the power structures that exist, therefore I will use rhizomatics and experimental design as methods by exploring lines of flight in the form of a music production where we move through power structures in all of its forms.

Vi började vårt projekt med grunderna till verktyg för att utveckla spel i 2d. Dessa ämnade vi färdigställa under projektet och med dem utveckla en speldemo. Eftersom vi hade gemensamma visioner om spelutveckling så bestämde vi oss för att samarbeta, och fokusera på våra respektive områden. Med att utveckla egna verktyg ville vi få en större förståelse för de grundläggande mekanismerna av en spelmotor och möjligheten att påverka dessa efter våra specifika behov. Det var också för att hålla koden fri från licensierade komponenter för att i framtiden kunna underlätta distribution.<br>Detta är en reflektionsdel till en digital medieproduktion.

Abstract:
Vi, Anna Nilsson och Jeanette Svensson, valde att producera musikvideos under vårat kandidatarbete på Blekinge tekniska högskola. Detta eftersom vi båda har ett stort intresse till musik och rörlig bild. Vi valde att göra två stycken för att lära oss produktionens process grundligt och för att nu kunna jämför de båda och av detta ta lärdom. Den ena musikvideon gjorde vi till en skånsk duett som heter KC och den andra till Advance Patrol. Båda låtarna är inom genren hiphop. Vårt mål med projektet var att skapa två videos som inte följde den generella mallen för hiphop-videos. Med andra ord ville vi undvika häftiga bilar, smycken i massor och lättklädda tjejer. På denna punkt fick vi dock kompromissa lite med Advance Patrol. Vi valde att filma i miljöer med mycket färg, djup och kontraster och att efteråt lägga på effekter som förstärkte texternas budskap. We, Anna Nilsson and Jeanette Svensson, have produced music videos during the Bachelors thesis at Blekinge Institute of Technological. We chose to make music videos since we both have a big interest in music and motion picture. We chose to make two to get the most out of the working progress and to be able to compare them to each other and our own development. The first video we made was to a duett called KC and the second one was to Advance Patrol. Both songs are in the genre of hip hop. Our goal with the project was to create two videos that did not look like the general hiphop video with things such as cool cars, lots of jewelleries and girls with not much clothes. We had to compromise a little bit with Advance Patrol about this though. With interesting places that had nice colours, deep and contrasts we came to create great videos in our own way. We also added different kind of layers and effects to make the message in the lyrics clear to the viewer. We have achieved our goals much greater then we expected and have now many new experiences to take with us in our future projects. Vi har uppnått vårt mål och resultatet blev bättre än vi förväntat oss. Vi har fått många nya erfarenheter genom hela projektets tid som vi kommer att ha stor nytta av i framtida produktioner.<br>Detta är en reflektionsdel till en digital medieproduktion.

The BMF&BOVESPA has the goal to reach about 5 million individual investors by the end of 2018 and in this context are inherent risks of investment in shares which the Brazilian investor is little used, due to the complexity of this market. As it is essential a careful evaluation of accounting and financial reporting and the prospects of the company to ensure the investors a most appropriate decision for their investments, this study aims to know the investor perception, as a user, about the understandability of accounting and financial reporting, of publicly traded companies listed on BMF&BOVESPA, investigating possible explanations and comparing user perceptions individual investors to other groups involved. From retrospective studies on accounting and financial reporting, as well as general aspects of comprehensibility and language, was created an electronic research tool accessible via the internet. This instrument was made available to an estimated audience of about 14,600 people and had a return of 413 questionnaires of which 300 were validated. The sample had 97% of respondents with higher education and the results showed a high importance of accounting and financial reporting in decision-making investment in shares by the respondents. However, meeting the expectations related to the understandability of the reports had intermediate scores in most segments analyzed and found that the CLOZE test scores were low for most individual investors. The publicly traded companies, especially in the perception of individual investors, are not easily accessible, do not involve the public in the processes related to the development of accounting and financial reporting and does not seek to know your ideas. These results were in line with the perceptions on the availability of instruments segmented for specific audiences that proved to be low as evidenced by the preference of 81.3% of respondents that preferred separate reports, one conventional and one simplified, more accessible to the user less specialized. For the sample evaluated it is concluded from this study that there are opportunities to improve communication between public companies listed on BM&FBOVESPA and the segments of capital markets, involved in the accounting and financial reporting, from the use of plain language and objective to develop targeted instruments to specific audiences, by the companies that should be attentive to the preferences of investors.<br>A participa????o dos investidores pessoas f??sicas no mercado de capitais brasileiro mostrou-se crescente nos ??ltimos dez anos com evolu????o de cerca de 85 mil em 2002 para mais de 600 mil em 2011. A partir do retrospecto de estudos sobre relat??rios cont??beis e financeiros, bem como de aspectos gerais sobre compreensibilidade e linguagem, foi criado um instrumento de pesquisa eletr??nico acess??vel por meio da internet. Abstract:
The era between the close of the nineteenth century and the onset of the First World War witnessed a marked increase in radical agitation among Indian and Irish nationalists. The most outspoken political leaders of the day founded a series of widely circulated newspapers in India and Ireland, placing these editors in the enviable position of both reporting and creating the news. Nationalist journalists were in the vanguard of those pressing vocally for an independent India and Ireland, and together constituted an increasingly problematic contingent for the British Empire. The advanced-nationalist press in Ireland and the nationalist press in India took the lead in facilitating the exchange of provocative ideas—raising awareness of perceived imperial injustices, offering strategic advice, and cementing international solidarity. Irish and Indian press coverage of Britain’s imperial wars constituted one of the premier weapons in the nationalists’ arsenal, permitting them to build support for their ideology and forward their agenda in a manner both rapid and definitive. Directing their readers’ attention to conflicts overseas proved instructive in how the Empire dealt with those who resisted its policies, and also showcased how it conducted its affairs with its allies. As such, critical press coverage of the Boxer Rebellion, Boer War, Russo-Japanese War, and World War I bred disaffection for the Empire, while attempts by the Empire to suppress the critiques further alienated the public. This dissertation offers the first comparative analysis of the major nationalist press organs in India and Ireland, using the prism of war to illustrate the increasingly persuasive role of the press in promoting resistance to the Empire. It focuses on how the leading Indian and Irish editors not only fostered a nationalist agenda within their own countries, but also worked in concert to construct a global anti-imperialist platform. By highlighting the anti-imperial rhetoric of the nationalist press in India and Ireland and illuminating their strategies for attaining self-government, this study deepens understanding of the seeds of nationalism, making a contribution to comparative imperial scholarship, and demonstrating the power of the media to alter imperial dynamics and effect political change.

Η BPL τεχνολογία είναι μια υποσχόμενη τεχνολογία η οποία προσφέρει τηλεπικοινωνιακές υπηρεσίες μέσω των γραμμών ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας και η οποία τα τελευταία χρόνια γνωρίζει ραγδαία ανάπτυξη. Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η παρουσίαση της BPL τεχνολογίας και η υλοποίηση της με τρεις διαφορετικούς τρόπους σε συγκεκριμένο ηλεκτρικό δίκτυο. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο γίνεται μια γενική αναφορά στην BPL τεχνολογία. Παρουσιάζονται τα επίπεδα του δικτύου ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας τα οποία συμμετέχουν σε ένα BPL δίκτυο, τα διάφορα δίκτυα πρόσβασης, οι αρχιτεκτονικές και ο εξοπλισμός τους, καθώς και διάφορα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει η συγκεκριμένη τεχνολογία. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο περιγράφονται τα επίπεδα του BPL δικτύου. Αναλύονται οι διάφορες τεχνικές διαμόρφωσης όπως η OFDM (ορθογώνια μέθοδος διαμόρφωσης με διαίρεση συχνότητας) και η διαμόρφωση απλωμένου φάσματος. Επίσης γίνεται αναφορά στη διαχείρηση σφαλμάτων, στο BPL MAC στρώμα καθώς και στα πρωτόκολλα 802.11. Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο αναφέρονται οι διάφορες τηλεπικοινωνιακές υπηρεσίες που προσφέρονται από την BPL τεχνολογία καθώς και οι εφαρμογές του έξυπνου δικτύου (Smart Grid) και του έξυπνου σπιτιού (Smart Home) που υλοποιούνται με τη συγκεκριμένη τεχνολογία. Στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο γίνεται μια σύντομη αναφορά στην τεχνολογία των οπτικών ινών και στο τρόπο με τον οποίο η τεχνολογία αυτή θα χρησιμοποιηθεί ως δίκτυο κορμού το οποίο θα φτάνει μέχρι και τους μετασχηματιστές μέσης/χαμηλής τάσης. Επίσης παρουσιάζεται και η PON-BPL τεχνολογία. Στο πέμπτο και τελευταίο κεφάλαιο πραγματοποιείται η σχεδίαση του BPL δικτύου πρόσβασης με τρεις διαφορετικές αρχιτεκτονικές σε περιοχή της Λακωνίας της οποίας το ηλεκτρικό δίκτυο ψηφιοποιήθηκε με τη χρήση ενός προγράμματος GIS (Γεωγραφικά Συστήματα Πληροφοριών) και συγκεκριμένα του Mapinfo. Στη συνέχεια γίνεται σύγκριση των αρχιτεκτονικών ως προς το κόστος και την ταχύτητα.<br>BPL technology is a promising technology that offers telecommunications services through power lines, which in the recent years is facing a rapid development. The object of this specific project is the presentation of BPL technology and its realization in three different ways on a specific power grid. In the first chapter there is a general reference to BPL technology. Also it includes a presentation of the levels of the power grid which participate in a specific BPL network. Furthermore there is a presentation of the various access network, their architectures, equipment and various problems faced by this technology. The second chapter contains the description of the levels of BPL network. Also various modulation techniques like OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and spread-spectrum configuration are analyzed. Finally there is a reference to the management of errors, BPL MAC layer and to the protocols 802.11 as well. In the third chapter there is a reference about the various telecommunication services which are provided via BPL technology as well a reference for the implementations of the Smart Grid and Smart House which are realized with the specific technology. At chapter four a brief reference is conducted about the optical fiber technology and about the manner in which this technology will be used as a backbone which reaches up the medium/low voltage transformers. Also PON-BPL technology is presented. Finally in the fifth and last chapter takes place the design of BPL access network with three different architectures in an area of Laconia whose power grid digitized by using a GIS program (Geographic Information Systems), namely the Mapinfo. Eventually there is a comparison between architectures as concern the cost and the speed of realization needed.

Abstract:
Botswana is considered an exemplary democracy in Africa. It is imperative to assess how an enviable democracy could flourish when the most widely available mass media was not independent. The fact is, despite the fact that media has been at the heart of development in Botswana, it has often been ignored in local academic and popular discussions about democracy and governance. A 1994 seminar on the media in a democracy organized by the Mmegi Publishing Trust (Leepile, 1994), was one of the very few forums where the role of the media in Botswana was given any attention. Even then, most the presentations were not substantive, mainly providing basic information about media institutions in Botswana and laws that protect and threaten freedom of the media. Botswana's contemporary state - media nexus can only be understood within the context of a long history of media dependence and domination by neighbouring South Africa (Zaffiro, 1991) assisted by British colonisation. To appreciate the challenges of cultural production at Botswana Television (BTV) required a study of the problematic encounter between the quest for creative and professional freedom within BTV on the one hand,·and the authoritarian gaze of state power on the other hand. BTV operated under an ill-defined broadcasting model, of a state bureaucratic arm, attempting to fulfil the ethos of public service broadcasting. Through the lens of the Newsroom, in-house productions, commissioning and procurement of foreign and local content, the study shows the subtle ways in which state ownership of the media compromises freedom of expression and freedom of information in Botswana. Yet, Botswana continued to enjoy that status of Africa's exemplar of democracy. Good governance indicators consistently gave media in Botswana cursory attention, thereby reinforcing state authoritarianism in Botswana. With a media dominated by state power, Botswana still emerged as exemplary. This complicated the quest for the ideal communication environment towards democratization in the Third World, particularly in a globalizing context. In situations such as that of Botswana, where the institutions that should protect the media from government control are either absent or weak, universal ideals on media freedom are often not enough. Media practitioners are more likely to find support in the local discourses, repertoires and cultures that call upon all, regardless of status, to tolerate opposition. A local tradition of the kgotla in particular, often heralded as Botswana's indigenous form of democracy, is placed in this chapter, at the heart of much of the freedom, limited as it may be, that BTV enjoyed.<br>Thesis (Ph.D.)-University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2007.
