Planning is one of the important stages in the management process. A plan is a set of decisions about how to do something in the future. Plans are needed by both start-up companies and companies that already run for longer periods. Budget is one form or tool in planning that guides companies with financially quantitative measures. It also can help the companies evaluate their performance by comparing their budget and actual data, so the budget will be the supporting tool that will impact the company's financial position. As bridge infrastructure ages, the deterioration of materials and hazard events reduce the service quality and compromise the safety of the structure. Therefore, there is a tremendous need for bridge maintenance planning, and such maintenance studies during recent years have focused on the life cycle aspect. To fulfill the budget requirements of life cycle maintenance, an important issue is to ensure that the limited maintenance budget is utilized in an effective way. However, there are few studies that have aimed to assess the topic of budget allocation and the adjustment of bridge life-cycle

Business executives and academics frequently criticize budget-based compensation plans as providing incentives for subordinates to build slack into proposed budgets. In this paper, we examine whether either of two practices—using budgets to allocate scarce resources, or providing information about co-workers—reduces budget slack and increases subordinate performance when organizations use budgets for performance evaluation. The results from our experiment show that using budgets for both resource allocation and performance evaluation not only eliminates budget slack, but also increases subordi

Goethe applied his epistemological approach of investigating nature to the realm of social order. Law, order, balance, and budget formed the basis of Goethe's financial reform of the duchy. Abstract:
Malawi has strong policies and frameworks for nutrition but insufficient funding to implement them. Analyses of government budgets at national level and in 10 districts from financial years 2016/17 to 2022/23, found that domestic budget allocations for nutrition are still well below the 5% of national budget target set by the government. National budget allocations ranged between 0.5% to 3.7% depending on the year. At district level, they ranged from 0.2% to 1.6%, with only one district, in one financial year, exceeding the 1.5% target for district level nutrition budget allocations. Over 95%

Delivering public goods and services requires identifying the needs of constituents and designing policies and programs to address these needs in the hopes of attaining development. These policy and program interventions should get the appropriate budgetary allocations to be implemented and effect change. Identifying the needs helps determine the necessary interventions embodied in plans which, in turn, promotes change and development--this is after it is successfully implemented through budgets. The study looks at this mechanism of development for local governments and maps out the current pl

June 11th 2025 saw the Chancellor reveal the results of the first ‘zero-based’ review since 2008, the first stand-alone Spending Review since 2019, and the first three-year plan since 2021. It was the Government’s chance to say what its priorities are after painful announcements on higher taxes and borrowing, and then welfare cuts, at the Autumn Budget and Spring Statement. The decisions in this Spending Review were about allocating spending for the next few years: three years for day-to-day resourcing, four for capital investment plans. The big picture is dominated by day-to-day spending, whi
