Full textThe general framework of this thesis was the EDUTODOS Project. Progress and limitations of the Education for All: policy of educational agenda, the trend of educational inequalities, and the quality of democracy in Latin America, of the Interdisciplinary Group on Educational Policy (Autonomous University of Barcelona and University of Barcelona). Specifically, it was studied the relationship among the first of the Objectives of Education For All, the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and the reduction of social inequalities in Mexico. Currently, the Non-schooled Initial Education (NSIE) is the main ECCE strategy applied in that country. The aim of this research was to develop a profile of indicators of good practice in ECCE in contexts of social inequality in the State of Puebla, Mexico. After reviewing the most relevant literature on the subject, it was described the status of ECCE in the world and its relationship with the reduction of social inequalities. It was developed a proposal of indicators of ECCE in contexts of social inequality that was called Model of Indicators of Good Practice in Early Childhood Care and Education. Finally, based on the proposed indicators, and as a result of the fieldwork, common factors were found in experiences of good practice in ECCE in Puebla and it was developed a profile of indicators of good practice in ECCE in contexts of social inequality. It was concluded that good practices are embedded in contexts characterized by inequalities in demographic, economic and socio-cultural areas, and that some of these inequalities are compensated by the good practices of the NSIE program.

Full textThis study is based on the theoretical understanding of the phenomena of school failure and school success from a Spanish perspective, taking into account figures from different international indicators, such as data on early leavers from education and training (EUROSTAT) and the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) conducted by the OECD. The general objective is to analyse the practices of teachers in the stage of compulsory Secondary Education in a context that favours school success and Finland stands out positively in those reports; a country to which the researcher is also emotionally linked to. Therefore, exploring that educational reality in northern Europe as a source of learning, not only under a comparative perspective, but also to inspire an improvement in education. The focus has been basically directed towards teachers and their (good) educative practices, in order to understand and analyse their daily work. As for the methodology, it has had an eminently qualitative approach, in the form of a pilot study and ethnographic case study in two comprehensive schools in northern Finland, more specifically in Oulu, throughout different stages: 2006/07, 2008/09 and 2014/15. All the material collected from the interviews, observations and follow-ups, the field diaries, and diverse documentation, has been analysed by four large categorical groups: (1) teaching competence, (2) curriculum planning, (3) attention to students, and (4) relationship with the educational community. The results have been written under a narrative approach and the most remarkable conclusions are the high quality of teachers training in Finland facilitating their (good) educational practices, as well as, the importance of student care, not exclusively in academic terms, but taking into account a holistic view of their wellbeing. All this under the appropriate leadership of the principal’s team, working side by side with the Finnish educational community in general, and more specifically with the families.

Full textPeruvian School of Good Practices is a business project that consists of the training and development of soft skills such as empathy, verbal and non-verbal communication, adaptation to changes, among others. We believe that it is important to be able to manage these techniques to solve problems, learn to work as a team, be a leader, reduce the level of stress and other aspects that help the development of a training that encourages the student because, in Peru, the educational system is only focused on basic subjects such as mathematics, communication, science, among other courses. However, in recent years the importance of teaching soft skills for assertive decision making has been demonstrated both in personal and professional life. Faced with this situation, in the Peruvian educational sector there are few preparation centers dedicated to the development of these courses with a different proposal. In this sense, this business project seeks to cover this need with a value proposition that lies in a specialized center that will be in charge of developing soft skills in children and adolescents with long-term teachers. The Peruvian School of Good Practices will have as a source of income the payment of parents who enroll their children, for which we will go to all private primary and secondary education centers, supporting ourselves in campaigns that allow us to show our proposal of value.

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to determine the main characteristics of curricular diversification programmes (CDPs: Mode A, Open Classrooms) in Spain and Catalonia, and more specifically in the Girona region, in order to identify the characteristics which foster best practices in these programmes in the opinion of the people involved in them. CDPs are a specific means of measuring attention to educational diversity and have been running in Spain for fifteen years. A qualitative methodological approach was adopted for this research based on the case study of ten CDPs. For the collection of information, some instruments were designed and developed (a sheet with recordings and interviews with students and professionals). We conclude by identifying some best practices for educational intervention in curricular diversification programmes and defining some educational intervention guidelines for their improvement.
