As the general public has become increasingly aware of problems caused by asbestos, it is a pressing issue to check for the presence of asbestos fibers in buildings and elsewhere. In this paper, we propose a method using computers to detect and count asbestos particles in microscope images. Noting that asbestos particles have distinctive colors and shapes, we have extracted color and shape features to detect them. As detectors, we have used Support Vector Machine (SVM), which has better performance in utility than other classifiers. We do not consider it possible to properly utilize similariti

This study deals with space organization problems and searches for all possible optimal building space structure configurations in terms of energy and comfort parameters using a mathematical algorithmic method. The methodology is based on the formulation of feasible architectural rules and their translation into an algorithm that can generate 2D floor plans s

Abstract:
Abstract In Japan, the rate of aging exceeds 27%, and the decline of communities has been an issue. Therefore, in this study we take the T housing complex as an example where the rate of aging is more than 40% and aim to understand the usage pattern of benches. An observational research was conducted for 19 days to examine the usage of a total of 23 benches, 17 existing ones and 6 newly installed ones, in the T housing complex. This investigation led to the findings. An average of 417 people used the benches in a day. Research determined that there are four different types of bench utilization

Abstract:
In post-war situations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) feature highly in peace-building processes in their (perceived) capacities as both representatives of civil society and as grassroots agents to be employed in the reconstruction and transformation of society. As elsewhere, in Liberia, peace-building approaches include, first, international blueprints of representation that intend to empower groups generally perceived to be socially subordinate and, second, supporting traditional institutions considered social capital in reconciliation. Using the example of Liberia, this paper explor

AbstractExposure information is a critical element in various regulatory and non-regulatory frameworks in Europe and elsewhere. Exposure science supports to ensure safe environments, reduce human health risks, and foster a sustainable future. However, increasing diversity in regulations and the lack of a professional identity as exposure scientists currently hamper developing the field and uptake into European policy. In response, we discuss trends, and identify three key needs for advancing and harmonizing exposure science and its application in Europe. We provide overarching building blocks

Different climate bring about different buildings, Climate has very close relation with architecture. Building climatic classification has important direction mean for architecture design, building energy efficiency and building energy simulation. Ago, China classified building climate using temperature, relative humidity, etc.. Degree, relative humidity and clearness index were regarded as classification factors. Meteorological data of 165 stations from 1970 to 2000 is used to reclassify building climate in China. Six types of building climates which respectively is Warm, Warm & humid, We
