This study aimed to describe the diversity of plants found in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The analysis of plant diversity was carried out by applying the quadratic method. Twenty-five squares were constructed for sampling. The results showed that there were thirty two (32) plant tribes consisting of 256 individuals in the exposed area and 899 individuals in the burial area. Data on plant diversity were then mapped to be correlated with Basic Competence (BC) at each level of the educational unit. Mapping results showed, there are 6 BC at the elementary school level; 5 BC at the junior

Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (BBSNP) has a fairly high biodiversity, including plant species which are categorized as threatened, protected and endemic plants in Sumatra. Information regarding the existence of these plant species is not yet widely available. The purpose of this study was to reveal the existence of threatened, protected and endemic plant species in BBSNP. The research was conducted by exploration methods in three BBSNP areas, namely Kubu Prahu (West Lampung Regency), Sukaraja Atas (Tanggamus Regency) and Rata Agung (Pesisir Barat Regency). Until now, conflicts between elephants and the community are still occurring, one of which is in the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. This conflict has a negative impact on both elephants and society, so it is necessary to examine the habitat factors that determine the movement of Sumatran elephants. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the daily movement of the elephants and to analyze the habitat factors that influence elephant movement. Data was collected in the form of elephant movements in one period which were obtained from the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. 1-year

Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park in south-west Sumatra is one of the largest protected areas in Sumatra and thus of considerable importance to the conservation of biodiversity in Indonesia. Until recently, little was known of the wildlife in the park. The authors' surveys document the presence of an intact community of the birds and mammals known to occur in lowland Sumatran rain forests. While hunting and collection of forest products threaten a number of plant and animal species in the park, the primary threat to the park's integrity is from agricultural encroachment and expansion of encl

Hornbills play an important role in maintaining tree gene flow among fragmented populations in forests. But hornbill populations in Asia have been declining mainly due to loss of forest cover and poaching. The presence of hornbills in a forest is highly dependent on environmental factors such as the condition of food trees in their habitat. The purpose of this study was to determine the spatial distribution, dispersion patterns, density, and diversity of hornbill food trees at Sukaraja Atas Resort (SA) and Balik Bukit Resort (BB) of Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (BBSNP). Abstract:
Indonesia has one of the highest diversities of plants and animals in the world and nine of the eleven felid species present in Southeast Asia are found in Indonesia. Yet, Indonesia now leads the world in the number of threatened and endangered mammal and bird species, with new species constantly added to the list. The biggest factor driving the disappearance of wildlife in Indonesia is large-scale habitat loss and degradation. The country is losing its forests at the fastest rate of any nation in the world. In Sumatra alone, nearly 3.1 million hectares of forest were lost in the past decade,
