Abstract:
The Buntsandstein in Europe was deposited in various independent basins which are situated up to several thousands of km apart. The basins of the German facies are located in Middle Europe, Spain, and Bulgaria, whereas the Buntsandstein areas in Hungary, Austria and neighbouring countries belong to the Alpine facies, and the Tatra Mountains in Poland represent the Carpathian facies. While the Mid-European Triassic Basin has a very large extension, Bulgaria is characterized by comparatively smaller basins. The Buntsandstein columns in the Triassic basins in Bulgaria exhibit a pronounced similar

New land gravity data results acquired in northern Alsace were presented. Compared to the available old Bouguer anomaly, we recovered an accurate Bouguer anomaly field showing data uncertainties [Formula: see text]. A qualitative data analysis using pseudotomographies reveals several negative anomalies suggesting a decrease of the bulk density at the depth of geothermal interest. We have performed a quantitative study on the basis of the existing 3D geologic model derived from a reinterpretation of the vintage seismics. The theoretical gravity response indicates a great mismatch with the obser

Abstract For many CO2-emitting industrial sectors, such as the cement and chemical industry, Carbon, Capture and Storage (CCS) will be necessary to reach any set climate target. CCS on its own is a very cost-intensive technology. Instead of considering CO2 as a waste to be disposed of, we propose to consider CO2 as a resource. The utilisation of CO2 in so-called CO2 Plume Geothermal (CPG) systems generates revenue by extracting geothermal energy, while permanently storing CO2 in the geological subsurface. To the best of our knowledge, this pioneer investigation is the first CCUS simulation fea
