Abstract:
This experiment was conducted to select the suitable yield and yield contributing characters of twenty-five burmese grape genotypes by correlation coefficient and path coefficient analysis. Correlation coefficient analysis revealed that fruits yield per plant (kg.) had a highly significant positive correlation with base girth (0.68), canopy spreading at east-west direction (0.65), Canopy spreading at north-south direction (0.54) and plant height (0.52). Fruits yield per plant (kg.)  showed a significant positive correlation with the weight of seeds per fruit (0.5) and the number of seeds

Burmese grape (Baccaurea sapida Muell. Arg.) belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae, is a minor underexploited fruit crop grown wild as well as under cultivation in Nepal, India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, China, Thailand, for fresh consumption. It is a dioecious plant and reported to have an excellent nutritive value, but mainly grown in homestead condition mostly in neglected ways. The present study was aimed to characterize the germplasm nature, details of flowering and fruiting system of Burmese grape. Tree growth habit and crown shape of all the accessions surveyed were semi erect and irregular, r

Biochar prepared from different bio-sources serves as a feasible solution for the decontamination of dye-contaminated wastewater. In this study, biochar was synthesized from a sustainable source, i.e., local fruit waste, Burmese grape seeds (BGSs). The seeds were collected from a local market, washed, pre-teated and finally converted into biochar by pyrolysis in a N2 furnace. The removal efficiency of the synthesized biochar was evaluated towards a cationic industrial azo dye, methylene blue (MB). The phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and potassium hydroxide (KOH) pretreated BGS were pyrolized at 500 °C
