Nutrient losses due to brick production were evaluated at 50 Upazilas in nine districts of the central region of Bangladesh. The average land area occupied by a brick kiln was 0.59 ha. Water‐ extractable N, P, K and S, and total N, P, K and S decreased by 67, 60, 62, 53, 67, 67, 87 and 33% in burnt bricks compared to unburnt one, respectively. Permanent loss of huge quantity of plant nutrients is occurring due to brick manufacturing every year in Bangladesh.

As the Red Army fought its way back west, it discovered a devastated land: thousands of villages burnt to the ground; Jewish civilians, along with those accused of partisan activity or Soviet sympathies, lying dead; and millions of young people sent to Germany as slave labor. Party activists were faced with reintegrating survivors and rebuilding the economy. In western Ukraine, Belorussia, and the Baltic states, nationalist guerrillas continued to fight against Soviet power. NKVD officials carried out “filtration” to identify active collaborators, and the Party and unions reviewed all members who sought reinstatement. The newly freed inhabitants were incorporated into the ration system and subject to mobilization for labor and the army. Many resisted mobilization, especially for work on distant sites, and rebuilding was complicated by nationwide shortages. The German High Command finally surrendered on May 8, 1945. People streamed into the streets to celebrate, dance, embrace, and toast the victory. Although reconstruction would continue for years, the war at last was over.

Buildings consume major amount of energy as well as natural resources leading to negative environmental impacts like resource depletion and pollution. The current task for the construction sector is to develop an evaluation tool for rating of buildings based on their environmental impacts. There are various assessment tools and models developed by different agencies in different countries to evaluate building's effect on environment. Although these tools have been successfully used and implemented in the respective regions of their origin, the problems of application occur, especially during regional adaptation in other countries due to peculiarities associated with the specific geographic location, climatic conditions, construction methods and materials. India is a rapidly growing economy with exponential increase in housing sector. Impact assessment model for a residential building has been developed based on life cycle assessment (LCA) framework. The life cycle impact assessment score was obtained for a sample house considering fifteen combinations of materials paired with 100% thermal electricity and 70%-30% thermal-solar combination, applying normalization and weighting to the LCA results. The LCA score of portland slag cement with burnt clay red brick and 70%-30% thermal-solar combination (PSC+TS+RB) was found to have the best score and ordinary Portland cement with flyash brick and 100% thermal power (OPC+T+FAB) had the worst score, showing the scope for further improvement in LCA model to include positive scores for substitution of natural resources with industrial waste otherwise polluting the environment.

In 2019 itself, the educational technology investments reached a whopping 18.66 billion US dollars and were predicted to reach 350 billion US dollars by 2025 in its normal course as existed then. With the language apps, virtual tutoring, video conferencing tools, or online learning soft wares, there has been a cloud burst in the field. With the pandemic in place, the phenomenon has taken more and newer dimensions. Currently, there are more than 1.2 billion children in 186 countries affected by the school closures due to the pandemic. In Europe, in Denmark, and in Sweden children up to the age of 11 are returning to nurseries and school after the initial closure of the schools. In Asia, in India, and in other neighbouring countries and South Korea, students are responding to roll calls from their teachers online. Thus, old brick-and-mortar classrooms are giving way to mouse and click and touch and navigate to machine man conversation. With this shift away from the classroom in many parts of the world, it is only natural for everyone to surmise the adoption of online learning and its continuance for the future and the resultant impact on the traditional market for educational activities.
