Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to introduce the concept of business paradigm to conceptualize and explain differences in business interaction patterns in the IMP research. Design/methodology/approach The concept of the interaction and the concepts related to and driven from it describe the business at both a general level. At the same time, the IMP points out the uniqueness of business interactions. This paper addresses the specific lies between the general and the particular by referring to various patterns of interactions. To close that gap, this paper implies the Kuhnian philosophy of science to conceptualize the business paradigm. Findings The business paradigm is a socially constructed collective term. It simultaneously captures the cognitive (what business is and what rules it has) and social (business community) dimensions of the actor’s behavior and actions. It has two interdependent dimensions: cognitive and social. It determines how the actors view and do business, and it explains the variations of interactions. Research limitations/implications Not applicable as it is a conceptual paper. Practical implications Not applicable as it is a conceptual paper. Social implications Not applicable as it is a conceptual paper. Originality/value The concept of the business paradigm is a theoretical extension of the IMP actor’s theory. The dimensions of the business paradigm capture the psychological and sociological characteristics of the business actor. The business paradigm application provides an opportunity to find that business can be different because actors in various communities have various views on what business is and how it should be properly run. Adding the business paradigm concept to the IMP theory implies strengthening the theory explanation power because the interaction explains the business’s general characteristics. The business relationship explains the business’s unique features, and the business paradigm explains the various interaction patterns.

Abstract:
AbstractCategorising something as a business judgment can provide directors with a powerful shield from accountability. It has been said that the courts in England and Wales defer to directors’ business judgments and directors’ decisions are protected from review in other jurisdictions by a business judgment rule. Yet what a business judgment is has never been addressed, and so precisely what is being protected, and why, is unclear. This paper analyses case law in England and Wales and key Australian and US cases to answer this question. It argues that the courts use the term judgment in two senses: an ability, and a decision sense, and that business judgment in both senses can be linked to Knight's concept of entrepreneurial judgment, and directors’ wealth creation function. Conversely, decisions that are linked to directors’ corporate governance function and are less easy to categorise as entrepreneurial are less likely to be viewed as business judgments.

Abstract:
The essence and uniqueness of social business in solving the most sensitive problems of the society, being able to survive independently and ensure the continuity of activities gives this form of activity an advantage and determines its growing popularity. There are many different definitions of social business. Some authors explain the definition of social business by distinguishing the main aspects that distinguish social business from other forms of activity. However, there are also forms very close to social business. The research objective is to present differences of social business concepts and to identify advantages of such initiatives. The analysis of social business concepts has shown that social business is defined by three principles: social business solves social problems that are not addressed by the public sector; the main motive of social business is public benefit; representatives of social business exploit market mechanisms (without excluding the existing ones) when creating social benefits. Research has shown that social business does not yet have one specific definition, but, according to the development and perception of social business, two main directions can be distinguished: Anglo-American and European.

Abstract:
The article emphasizes the importance of researching the definition of "business" in a sociological perspective, its theoretical disclosure and analysis. Business is a significant engine of the economy of any country, from the provision of jobs to the coverage of the demand of the population in certain goods and services, which causes the relevance of scientific research of the concept. Due to theoretical analysis and analysis of statistical data, empirical research data, business is revealed in the light of sociological theorization. The article emphasizes the proximity of the concepts of "business" and "entrepreneurship" in scientific discourse. The influence of scientists in the formation, implementation and deepening of the term was evaluated. Based on this, special attention is paid to the delimelation of the concepts of "entrepreneurship" and "business", where three points of view developed in scientific discourse are revealed. This is a complete definition of concepts and their distinction (in one case, business is considered as a broader concept than entrepreneurship, and in the other – vice versa). In sociology, it is customary to separate these concepts, and consider business as a more meaningful concept. It was established that business is an organized business with a more predictable profit, and entrepreneurship is an activity associated with risk. Business entities, business purpose, functions (latent and explicit) are distinguished, which indicates a certain structure of the concept. It has been found that today there is a wide classification of business according to various criteria, such as business size, ownership form, type of economic activity. Focus on size criteria above all. Small, medium and large businesses are distinguished, statistical and sociological data on these types and their distribution in the country are presented. It was established that business is considered as a social institution in sociology, its institutional character is shown. It was found out that business is a multidiscipnomal economic activity, a social institution of society aimed at obtaining projected profits through the creation and sale of certain products or services.

Passley, Shaun Adam. "General Growth Process| Concept to Living Enterprise." Thesis, Benedictine University, 2014. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=3584796.

Full text
Abstract:

This study examined the process by which a technology company grows from a concept into a living enterprise in order to provide guidelines to technology entrepreneurs. A living enterprise is a mature and stable blue chip entity that is able to act on its own based on the structure of having a community involved in making business decisions. This study used a triangular selection process to narrow approximately 500 companies down to four companies. Using archival data to develop case studies, the growth processes of four technology companies (i.e., Apple, Microsoft, Oracle and Google) were investigated, analyzed, and compared. These case studies started by examining the backgrounds of the founders, development of the initial product, and beginning of operations to the point when each of them became a living enterprise.

The four case studies were used to build the model entitled General Growth Process: Concept to Living Enterprise. This model is a useful tool for entrepreneurs who want to start and grow their companies. The general growth process extended Larry E. Greiner’s models (1972), the model of organization development and the five phases of growth. In addition, Laurence Capron and Will Mitchell’s definitions of, build, borrow, or buy were incorporated as well as my addition and definition of abroad (i.e. international). Finally, this study provided detailed information on how each founder became a values-driven leader and built a living enterprise.

Keywords: concept, entrepreneurs, founders, growth process, growth strategy, growth options, living enterprise, organization life-cycle, product development, values-driven leadership.

Abstract:
This thesis is conducted in the business field of repair shops for aircraft component repair. It focuses on specific aspects and operations which are related to material provisioning for a single repair station. After introducing and defining the repair shop business in aviation, several aspects of material provisioning in this field are investigated: demand, part classification, material management operations and logistics. Each section begins with a general literature research. In addition to the theoretical investigation, this degree project is carried out at a sample repair shop under European law. The studied repair station intends to grow from a small company to a medium-sized work shop with the ability to handle up to 1,000 components per year. The research findings build the base to improve and implement material provisioning processes which are standardized, robust and reproducible. Each section provides a report about the related practical results. The chapter “Demand” treats the importance of material consumption tracking as well as accurate material data quality. “Part Classification” as following section covers the capability extension process combined with an economical criticality analysis. The paragraph about “Material Management Operations” draws the current material ordering process and integrates the advantages of the previously presented criticality analysis. In the end, the chapter “Logistics” completes the material provisioning concept by specifying the need and the requirements for an own local warehouse. The concluding chapter summarizes the achieved results and provides an overview on open tasks for the near future as well as possible further developments in the long-term perspective.

Milashevich, Anna. "Re-visioning business : archetypal patterns in the business domain and their relation to the concept of business creativity." Thesis, University of Essex, 2017. http://repository.essex.ac.uk/21358/.

Full text
Abstract:
The principal aim of the thesis is to re-vision what I am calling ‘the business domain’ by showing how different archetypal energies of the collective unconscious operate in it and how they structure the domain’s creative dynamics. In this task, I am drawing on a range of Jungian theories. While the psychoanalytic organisational approach, with its focus on the personal/group unconscious, is well developed, the Jungian organisational approach is in its infancy with the result that little is said in the relevant literature to date about collective unconscious dominants, the archetypes. The introduction of this perspective involves arguing against the prevailing psychoanalytic emphasis on the pathological aspects of the business domain. The key value of the archetypal approach is that it exposes the inherent tensions within business life. In addition, it adds a much-needed catalyst for bringing insight into creativity and innovation as they manifest in the business domain. Jungian psychology, as I argue, offers a perspective that is instructive for grasping the complexities of creativity in business, which differs from manifestations of creativity in other domains such as the arts and sciences. Jungian psychology could thus make a valuable contribution to the analysis of business dynamics. I will also demonstrate how the archetypal approach can be helpful in containing the unconscious projected contents (both personal and collective) inherent in the business domain. As a first step in delineating the value and scope of an archetypal understanding of the dynamics in the business domain, this thesis invites further consideration of the question about how this approach can be used to construct a theoretical framework for analysing the business domain and what this framework could look like.

Full text
Abstract:
The aim of this article is to give an overview of the business model concept and theories focussing on the sharing economy. Selected concepts and studies are presented, and its application, usefulness and limitations are discussed. The concepts and models that are presented in more detail build the foundation for the realisation of a digital business plan. The plan was part of the overall examination for the course ‘Digital Business Development’ at Linnæus University. The theories and studies concerning business models are being traced back to 1975. With the advent of the Internet mid-1990s the academic community picked up on the business model concept and an increasing number of articles, publications and studies were published. Although the huge interest in the concept, there is still no common theoretical foundation and established researchers such as Michael E. Porter even argue that the business model doesn’t help a company to develop or to assess competitive advantage instead it only helps to understand basic questions. Airbnb and Uber have been the companies mostly cited when articles were written about the ‘sharing economy’. The research field of the sharing economy is rather new and most of the theoretical foundation is rooted in the concept of ownership. Recently, researchers have begun to investigate frameworks around the sharing economy i.e. understanding the determinants of a successful sharing model from a marketing and technological perspective. The literature related to the sharing economy is still in its formation phase. The theory must reach a higher level of generalizability and move away from pure descriptions of ‘successful companies in the sharing economy’. Most studies have focused on identifying motivational factors for consumers and companies to participate in the sharing economy. In conclusion, both concepts have its strengths and weaknesses, but they provide useful insights for analyzing current situations and developing potential strategic directions.

Abstract:
The aim of the research is to analyse manager’s competence groups, a manager role in modern enter-prise and clarify what competences are required for managers in knowledge intensive business service (KIBS) organizations. Authors assumed that natural changes in the external environment lead to ap-pearance and development of new managerial activities and competences or manifestation of a cer-tain set of competencies. Previous researchers reveal that new context of teams that are diversified in terms of locations, disciplines and social groups require managers to act differently. Other researchers emphasize acceleration of technological novelties and presence of new organizational forms such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) also creates new operational processes and managerial activi-ties. Business society and labor market expect a professional who acts in different roles of entrepre-neur, leader, and manager simultaneously. The authors conducted literature overview and identified ten leading competencies that are necessary for a manager in KIBS.

Abstract:
Abstract: the proposed business didactic game is aimed at developing the creative attitude of the teacher to his own professional activity. The motivational material of a business didactic game allows the teacher to understand that his activity has sometimes elusive pedagogical algorithms and strategies, the totality of which can be called such a concept as an individual methodological style of activity. In addition to pedagogical strategies, this concept reflects the unique psychological qualities of the individual, which allow the teacher to influence the quality of the acquired knowledge. It is also emphasized that the concept of an individual style of activity is the result of the teacher's internal hard work, the result of a long search, value. On this basis, the individual style of activity rejects the concept of "charisma", since it is self-sufficient and does not need to be theatrically announced to any audience. All the value bases of an individual methodological style of activity are aimed not at narcissism, but at helping students in mastering the internal content of a particular academic subject. The leading sign of the formation of an individual methodological style of activity is the ability to correctly combine one's original author's position on the content principles of the taught subject with the guiding and prescriptive lines of the work program. The author's position of the teacher, which combines the emotional and rational components, is also reflected in external behavioral mechanisms. At the same time, expressive forms of behavior are not a mandatory feature of the individual style of methodological activity. A special style of preparing educational material, a list of methods and forms of teaching is structured on the basis of a situational understanding of the subtle mechanisms of teaching, educating and developing schoolchildren

Abstract:
Nowadays one of the most popular trends in software development is Augmented Reality (AR). AR applications offer an interactive user experience and engagement through a real-world environment. AR application areas include archaeology, architecture, business, entertainment, medicine, education and etc. In the paper we compared the main SDKs for the development of a marker-based AR apps and 3D modeling freeware computer programs used for developing 3D-objects. We presented a concept, design and development of AR application “Art-Heritage’’ with historical monuments and buildings of Crimean Tatars architecture (XIII-XX centuries). It uses a smartphone or tablet to alter the existing picture, via an app. Using “Art-Heritage’’ users stand in front of an area where the monuments used to be and hold up mobile device in order to see an altered version of reality.

Hotsur, Oksana. SOCIAL NETWORKS AND BLOGS AS TOOLS PR-CAMPAIGN IMPLEMENTATIONS. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, March 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.50.11110.

Abstract:
The article deals with the ways in which social networks and the blogosphere influence the formation and implementation of a PR campaign. Examples from the political sphere (election campaigns, initiatives), business (TV brands, traditional and online media) have revealed the opportunities that Facebook, Telegram, Twitter, YouTube and blogs promote in promoting advertising, ideas, campaigns, thoughts, or products. Author blogs created on special websites or online media may not be as much of a tool in PR as an additional tool on social media. It is noted that choosing a blog as the main tool of PR campaign has both positive and negative points. Social networks intervene in the sphere of human life, become a means of communication, promotion, branding. The effectiveness of social networks has been evidenced by such historically significant events as Brexit, the Arab Spring, and the Revolution of Dignity. Special attention was paid to the 2019 presidential election. Based on the analysis of individual PR campaigns, the reasons for successful and unsuccessful campaigns from the point of view of network communication, which provide unlimited multimedia and interactive tools for PR, are highlighted. In fact, these concepts significantly affect the effectiveness of the implementation of PR-campaign, its final effectiveness, which is determined by the achievement of goals. Attention is drawn to the culture of communication during the PR campaign, as well as the concepts of “trolls”, “trolling”, “bots”, “botoin industry”. The social communication component of these concepts is unconditional. Choosing a blog as the main tool of a marketing campaign has both positive and negative aspects. Only a person with great creative potential can run and create a blog. In addition, it takes a long time. In fact, these two points are losing compared to other internet marketing tools. Further research is interesting in two respects. First, a comparison of the dynamics of the effectiveness of PR-campaign tools in Ukraine in 2020 and in the past, in particular, at the dawn of state independence. Secondly, to investigate how/or the concept of PR-campaigns in social networks and blogs is constantly changing.
