The development of Internet technology and its application in e-commerce business activities have resulted in a revolutionary impact on the traditional model of the cross-border trade activities. The forthcoming entry of China to World Trade Organization is going to present unprecedented opportunities between China and the United States, and eventually between China and the world. This thesis of Entrepost.Com Business Plan is intended to evaluate such unleashed opportunities and present a new business model that enables the small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises in China and the United States which have been largely excluded because of their lack of resources to overcome the various barriers in the process of cross-border transaction activities. The business model of Entrepost.Com provides a set of integrated solutions to its targeted customers in the selected industrial segment through its online manufacturing community services and offline total customer solutions. The values that Entrepost.Com proposes to its customers will be the incremental opportunities, and efficient and effective facilities for them to penetrate into foreign markets.

Full textToday, obesity has become the number one concern of kids and teens. About one in three Americans are overweight or obese. This in part is due to the consumption of highly commercialized and processed foods that lack the essential nutrients in maintaining a healthy weight in addition to normal cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Studies have shown that eating habits are learned early in life and are carried on throughout the rest of their lives. As children grow older into their adolescent years, they are more aware of their eating habits and have gained more autonomy in regards to food choices.
Plant-based foods have shown to drastically improve the overall health of individuals with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and excess weight.
Power Plant is a facility that intends offer plant-based nutritional services in the form of informative lectures, interactive workshops, one-on-one nutritional guidance by appointment, with access to peer-mentors for additional support and guidance. Power Plant will dedicate their services to the Whittier Union high school district, surrounding community colleges, and universities in the Los Angeles County area.
Power Plant’s unique program design, physician referrals and the critical need of our generations to come, are all factors that will contribute to its success in the Los Angeles County community and for years to come.

Full textNavy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) lacks a business process framework for the development of Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans. In the event business processes are deprived of automation for a prolonged period of time, the NAVSUP enterprise requires alternative methods to maintain the delivery of these products and services produced by these processes with minimum customer disruptions and financial losses. The purpose of this study was to review existing methodology to assess mission criticality of NAVSUP products and services and associated business processes. The analysis will lead to the development of a BCM plan and the associated information flow applied against a single Navy supply chain segment, Re-Engineered Maritime Allowance Development (ReMAD). This analysis will include recovery time and recovery point objectives. ReMAD and ERP interfaces as well as the ReMAD contingency plan will provide a context to lean on for the development of a business process framework for the plan. Currently, the ReMAD contingency plan’s system recovery timelines and recovery point objectives are not sufficient to continue with the processing of Maritime allowances.

The primary goals of this thesis were to analyze the market for wireless applications/services and create a business plan for a viable wireless application. There has been tremendous hype relating to wireless data services in the past few years with significant venture investment not yielding many commercially successful companies. In reviewing the wireless services market, there appears to be significant opportunity for the right wireless application/service to gain significant traction in the marketplace and spawn a successful startup. It was my assertion that one could create a service that allows users to find information from a community of users on a variety of technology platform that would prove to be the basis for a commercially viable startup. Full textIncludes bibliographical references.
The primary goal of this research was to determine if Micronotes, a start-up company based on an electronic bill-pay service that enables customers to prepay and discount their bills, is a viable business proposition. Here is how Micronotes works: On April 15th, a customer receives a $1,000 insurance bill due on May 15th. She enters the bill amount and due date into the Micronotes server, accessible via cell phone, handset, or the internet, and determines that she can pay Micronotes $996.12 today to settle that bill and Micronotes will pay her $1,000 bill, in full, on May 15th. Micronotes aggregates her $996.12 payment on April 15th with millions of other customer payments, and invests it into short-term, low-risk, institutional-grade securities which mature just before the due date of her bill; Micronotes then pays her $1,000 insurance bill on May 15th. The idea is to get people to think about paying bills incrementally earlier as a discount opportunity, rather than a burden to avoid - and by doing so, create perfect ontime payments for customers which will eliminate late fees, yield higher credit scores, and ultimately lower credit costs. The research design comprised qualitative and quantitative market research to understand the level of customer interest in the concept, creation and maintenance of customer trust, the firm's system of innovation as a competitive advantage, the regulatory and tax environment in which this business will operate, system and financial modeling to understand business drivers and sensitivities, market timing, international expansion, and routes to liquidity for investors.
(cont.) Our results reveal that Micronotes (Mnotes) is an electronic bill-pay service that will enable 24.8 million U.S. small businesses to quickly, conveniently, and securely discount and pay any of the $5 trillion dollars in bills they pay annually via handset or internet and by connection to the institutional-grade money markets. Our market research suggests that 27% of the 7.7 million female-owned small businesses, our initial target market, would use the Mnotes service yielding $486B/year in shortduration investment volume for the firm. 13.3% target market penetration, or 320,155 customers are needed to reach break-even operations under present assumptions.

Full textABSTRACT
Background: The current condition of the U.S. housing market has created a
possible shift in the way people are purchasing homes today.
U.S. housing statistics show that the average person moves
every five years, but now with a cooling market people are no
longer making quick capital gains off of their property. This
means that people are now becoming more conscious of what
they buy and why they are buying. People are realizing that
home ownership may be moving towards a long term
investment rather than a quick flip.
Housing is the Seattle, Washington area is expensive.
Environmentalists are urging U.S. residents to research ways
they can make their homes more efficient and friendlier to the
environment. However, the problem really lies in the
construction techniques of the U.S. housing industry. People
pay enough for their poorly constructed homes as it is, most
families are unwilling to pay the extra expense that is necessary
to increase the efficiency of their home. StålbroHouse noticed
this gap in the U.S. market and wants to bring Swedish
prefabricated homes that are superior in construction and
design elements. They also require a fraction of the energy
U.S. homes consume and are affordable for the average middle
class family.
Before beginning operations, to get some initial knowledge
about the industry, trends, customers etc., we contacted the
Washington State Housing Finance Commission. In addition,
an informal interview was conducted to enhance our
knowledge on the typical customer and what customers
commonly base their purchasing decisions on. In order to get
an even better understanding about the customers, we visited
the annual Home Show at the Seattle Convention Center in
January of 2008. We distributed feasibility surveys to get an
even better understanding for what people want in a home.
This enabled us to get closer to the target group. To get a better
idea of competitors and in particular their marketing efforts, we
called a couple of them directly. In some cases, we spoke with
their marketing managers.
Purpose: The purpose of this Thesis/Business Plan is to outline the
direction StålbroHouse plans to take in its first years of
operation as well as explain why we think this is a viable
business. This document will also serve to communicate the
companies ideas and projections to future investors and (or) so
that we can obtain a bank loan to assist in the capital necessary
to begin operations.
Method: We used a combination of relevant theory that was applicable
to the desired outcomes of the Thesis/Business Plan. Relevant
industry statistics, charts, and information was incorporated
with the theory that enabled us to produce a business plan that
was backed up by academic findings as well as market
research. This aided in the creation of a Businesss Plan that
would allow StålbroHouse to demonstrate their projections for
the first years of operations.
However, as with any business plan, it is important to
remember that outside factors, market changes etc. can mean
the need to deviate from the initial plan.

This goal has been reached by formulating business ideas and developing business models together with Nico and Jimmy and later written a detailed business plan according to the current standards and thus evaluating the quality of the business idea. This has shown us that it is possible to succeed given that the three largest taxi operators are willing to buy customers to fill upp their extra capacity.

Websites operating in travel industry is highly competitive and the top spot on search engine results page is taken mostly by popular and well-established brands. Most new travel websites mostly only see cost per click advertising (With Google AdWords or Yahoo/Bing Advertising) or Facebook Ads as a means to drive web traffic to their websites. This is often expensive as there are many bidders for the most popular keywords in travel niche. Most websites tailor their websites to the taste of most web users with the hope of getting more web traffic. Although this sounds very logical, this can also be less rewarding considering the lower levels of organic traffic (from Google/Yahoo/Bing) that one would receive for the top keywords. A practical approach was followed in coming up with this business plan. Long tail keyword marketing presents an interesting opportunity that is often ignored by major websites. Long tail keywords (less searched lengthy keywords) in aggregate do represent a significant search volume. Due to the keyword length, they are usually less competitive and offering unique high quality content for a bulk of long tail keywords can be extremely rewarding in the long term. As this content would fulfill the need of a unique group of visitors, there is likely going to be more return visitors with a reduction in bounce rate (The percentage of visitors who enter the site and leave the site rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.). While it is any day good to be on top of the search results, an aggregate of traffic from the top 10 search results can also be significant whenever there are huge numbers of indexed pages on major search engines. Our business is not looking at compete with the big travel website directly, instead, we will aim to generate revenue through commissions from package sales, individual bookings (flights, hotels, tours), and online content monetization, among others. This business plan focuses on the following six sections in detail. Executive Summary – High level overview, Key success factors, mission, Source of funds, and what makes our business different. Products & Services – Visa Check, Embassy Information, Flight Search, Hotel search, Travel Insurance search, destination guides and vacation packages. Market analysis – Including Market segmentation and competitor analysis. Marketing Plan – Detailed plan along with search engine optimization strategies. Financial Plan – Revenue Forecast, Personnel Plan, Budget, Startup Costs, Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement Information Management – Privacy policy along with information of how each service will be managed.

Full textThe business plan developed aims to support the creation of a digital advertising platform on Carris’ buses called Synbus. This project is intended to be an evolution of the business models currently used in outdoor advertising in Portugal, whose incorporation of technological innovations in the message transmitted to consumers, is moderately insignificant. In order to do so, it is proposed a partnership with the main public transport operator in the city of Lisbon, Carris, equipping its buses with the capacity to transmit four main elements: marketing and local information based on the real time position of the bus, news and cultural agenda, Carris’ communications and direct ads. The methodology underlying the project included the development of a literary review on outdoor advertising and business models, followed by a market analysis using the PESTEL scheme, an analysis of the Portuguese outdoors advertising market, its operators and types of offer. A survey was developed in order to deepen the perception of this technology by the passengers of the carrier, assessing the opportunities and threats inherent to the project, systematized through a SWOT analysis. Subsequently, the Osterwalder and Pigneur Business Model was used to build the bases and strategies on which Synbus will be developed and the associated financial plans. This way, the project was valued at approximately 973 thousand euros, with the recovery of the initial investment in less than three years.

A longo prazo, WHY YOU pretende entrar na Alemanha, Holanda e França.

Full textThe objective of this thesis is the conceptualization of a social network that intends to be innovative in the Portuguese market, called "Cunnict", including the elaboration of a financially viable business plan based on an empirical analysis of the students' needs. Cunnict intends to use synergies between higher education students to satisfy their various needs, such as exchanging notes, chats between colleagues, planning activities, hiring study support services, and consulting the job market's offers in the area. According to the study carried out in this thesis, only 3.3% of respondents never used notes from other students to study, while more than 46.7% said they used it frequently or whenever they had to study. When consulting the current state of the art on the subject, it is concluded that students tend to use each other more to help their study than they do to professors or universities; social networks have created even more proximity between students, some authors even claiming that their use for the purpose of connecting people and exchanging information increases the feeling of integration, which brings psychological benefits and leads to better academic performance. The projected online platform is multi-sided, which allows different sources of income, including ads from Google ads directly on the website, private company ads in students' notes, subscription to entities to advertise activities, opportunities for employment and academic support services and the payment of premium services by students. From a business perspective, this project is extremely innovative in the Portuguese market, as it explores the opportunity for students to communicate constantly to exchange academic information and easily access useful information from companies and service providers. At the end of the project, its viability is attested, showing good financial indicators and reaching the financial payback after 3 years and 0 months and 3 days.

TravelDealsAsia (TDA) belongs to the category of Travel Deal Portals (TDPs). TDPs are a well-established business concept in some regions of the world (mostly Europa and North America). They concentrate on sharing unusually good-value travelrelated offerings (travel deals) with their users through their websites and mobile device applications. Travel deals include flights, package holidays, hotels and other travelrelated products and services. TDPs do not sell or provide travel services (are thus to be distinguished from online travel agencies). They merely provide information about travel deals that individual users would normally be unable to identify. TDPs are typically consumer-centred. TDPs do not only rely on their users for the generation of revenue (through purchases that the users make via affiliate program links), but users also provide some of the portal’s content in their role as ‘prosumers’.

The issue of how to translate something is a problem that inevitably comes up in one’s academic, professional, or personal life. The most immediate instinct one might have is, “do I know someone who can help me take care of this?” And in many cases, that need can be quickly and painlessly resolved by a friend or colleague. But in other cases, this solution becomes more complicated. What if this person can’t be bothered to get the job done? What if speed or quality is an issue? The idea for Wordparrot was borne out of a number of experiences in Taiwan with people who have, in their past experiences with translation companies, lamented the high cost, inconsistent quality, or both at once. At the same time, it is the result of the founder’s lifelong fascination with languages, foreign cultures, and the funny results that often occur from attempting to bring the real meaning of a phrase from one cultural understanding to another. The essential goal of Wordparrot is to use the open source tools and APIs available on the 21st-century Internet to build a translation marketplace for the end consumer. Customers can create accounts, upload files, and be connected to a global network of translators who will perform translation services for a fee. It is neither a revolutionary idea, nor one that requires a Ph.D. in computational linguistics. The intended drivers of profit for the company will be a high volume of low-margin transactions through a globally accessible platform. The company’s differentiating qualities will be the convenience features of the web application and the company’s ability to globally source and showcase translator expertise. Until computer scientists figure out how to make computers render translations that are indistinguishable from that of humans at large scale, human beings will have a role to play in making it work. Languages are constantly evolving, and machines still have great difficulty in capturing the shared, unspoken understanding between speaker and listener that is necessary to express ideas accurately on paper. That’s not to say that computers don’t have any role to play – they have revolutionized the field. From the standpoint of future business, it is better to think not in terms of “machine translation” but rather that “machine-augmented human translation” as the new standard for some time. The chapter ‘The Automation Question’ goes deeper into this important issue. Utilizing machine-translation APIs like Microsoft Translator to increase productivity is an eventual goal for the company. But for now, the company believes value can be delivered and profit can be made by achieving much simpler goals – finding customers who need translation, either singularly or as a regular business/institutional requirement, and bringing them together on a platform with translators available remotely for work on a regular or short-term basis. The platform’s eventual goal is to offer quality and convenience by encapsulating the various types of technologies that can enhance the convenience for both sides – social media-based authentication, file uploading and storage, and payment processing not just with credit cards but also Paypal, Apple Pay, and Android Pay. More ambitious goals are to develop web-based chat, videoconferencing, and project management tools to help translators and customers coordinate difficult projects that require multiple stages of revision.

The idea of undertaking 2minutes2claim comes from a personal experience; it all started when, one week after leaving a shared apartment, I received an email stating that my deposit would be fully kept by the real estate agency, for an invalid reason. I felt betrayed and frustrated to be part of the long list of victims being scammed by their landlords. Above all, I felt defenseless to recover this deposit, and I was certainly not willing to seek help from costly lawyers. Therefore, I managed, by motivation and persuasion, to recover this money by my own means. And I thought; what if I did that for other people? I then noticed that it is usually really difficult for dissatisfied consumers to be heard. Although their claims are primarily eligible for compensation, clients do not complete the process. I believe reasons of not going through the claim processes are often related to the lack of time, laziness or administrative phobia. And on the other hand, companies, sometimes unaware of the dissatisfaction caused to their customers, would be willing to offer compensation to avoid bad publicity. 2minutes2claim aims to take over from A to Z the claim procedure and would offer its services to customers and to companies and encourage dissatisfied consumers to delegate their complaints in a few quick steps. Both will be winners; the customer because he does not have the time or the know-how to make properly the claim request, and the company because it wishes to satisfy its clients. 2minutes2claim will support different types of claims, which will belong to two main categories: Travel and Housing. 2minutes2claim is finally what consumers and companies have always been waiting for: delegating the process of creating and following a full complaint procedure.
