Abstract:
In business, acquisitioning is a tool that can be used to prosper growth. With all acquisitions comes a responsibility to fit the brand(s) into the existing organization. The purpose of this thesis has been to conduct a market research of the dehumidifier industry in Sweden and to develop a marketing plan for Telcho, a declining brand that recently was acquired by the Baffin Delker group. An explanatory case study was conducted and revealed that the Swedish market is attractive to enter. The entry should be focused on the construction segment and the products distributed foremost through rental companies. The aftermarket network should be expanded and outsourced to repair shops throughout the country. The goal for the future will be to meet the two core needs of the customers which is product quality and minimum downtime. If managed properly this time, Telcho has all the potential to increase its market share and be a strong player on the market again.

Van, der Walt Andries Johannes. "Changes in attitudes towards business ethics held by past South African business management students." Diss., University of Pretoria, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/2263/26569.

Full text
Abstract:
The objective of this study was to assess whether, and how, the attitudes towards business ethics of South African business students have changed between the early 1990s and 2010. The research was conducted as a cohort study utilising the same instrument, the Attitudes towards Business Ethics Questionnaire (ATBEQ). This study compared the results of the survey of the MBA alumni of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), to the published results from a similar study at Rhodes University from the early 1990s. The study found a significant change in attitudes, with a trend towards stronger opinions, on business ethics and espoused values. A factor analysis of the responses showed eleven factors although it was less able to explain the variation in the attitudes than the previous study. A significant change in the rankings of variables also indicated a shift in priorities. These results indicated a shift towards a teleological moral philosophy as well as utilitarian motives. This shows a clear trend towards compliance-based ethics which can be explained by the proliferation of business legislation and regulation in the wake of recent corporate governance failures and the subsequent global financial crisis.

Abstract:
It is an emerging phenomenon that the leading multinational companies are studying how to use the engagement experiences of customers and communities as the foundation of value co-creation. To achieve this, the business leaders have increasingly adopted an ecological organizational form, namely business ecosystem. Google, Amazon and Microsoft are the real world examples and pioneers in this field. However, in the academic research, it is addressed by a number of researchers that there is significant lack of empirical studies that examines the emergence and formation of business ecosystem, especially in ICT industry. In essence, this study takes Cloud as the context to develop concepts on the emergence of business ecosystem and examine the manifestation of such evolution in the emerging business field. Through extensive literature reviews and empirical interviews, the current study developed answers to the research question, “How do new business ecosystems emerge, in the context of Cloud computing?” at qualitative level. In general, it is considered in the study that business ecosystem is a type of more advanced business form emerged recently. It has the characteristics as follow: provision of value, integration with external partners, requiring multiple participants, shifting from individual to collaborative thinking, interdependence of the participants, value co-creation, co-petition, open innovation and shared fate of success or failure. From a macro level viewpoint, the emergence of business ecosystem is the result of the continuous evolution of business forms, from linear type towards a more complex networked type. At a micro level, for an ecosystem to emerge in a given industry, it involves strategic design and appropriate execution. Furthermore, a set of critical elements need to be in the right place for a business ecosystem to emerge, which including: prerequisite conditions for ecosystem to emerge, external environmental and resource, shared vision, leadership of the ecosystem, common platform, mechanisms of the ecosystem, ecosystem healthiness, and IT infrastructure. The study further suggests that the emergence of business ecosystem as a new business form is not out of luck or probability. It is a natural path that under governance of the evolution forces existing in the social-economic contexts, just as the evolution of all the living creatures in the natural environment. For this broader perspective, the emergence of ecosystem is inevitable due to the social-economic and technological driving forces.

Gray, David Michael Marketing Australian School of Business UNSW. "A competency based theory of business partnering : an empirical study of Australian business-to-business partnerships." Awarded by:University of New South Wales. School of Marketing, 2006. http://handle.unsw.edu.au/1959.4/23302.

Full text
Abstract:
This research, conceptualizes, operationalises and empirically tests a competency-based theory of business-partnering performance within an Australian business-partnering context. Drawing on theory from social psychology and marketing, the research integrates a number of theoretical approaches including resource-based theory, competency based theory, relational factors view, relational interaction theory, and competitive advantage theory to explain why some business partnerships are more successful than others are. The results use a ???process model of business-partnering??? performance to explain the interaction process through which business partners exploit the available partnering related ???operant resources??? and how these resources influence the performance of business partnerships and their ability to achieve a competitive advantage. Specifically, this research investigates a number of important internal resources, which facilitate the building, and maintaining of external businesspartner relations including ???joint alliance competence???, ???joint alliance structure???, ???interpersonal relational competence??? and ???market orientation???. This research shows that an adequate understanding of how these ???operant resources??? are deployed/accessed and co-created by the business partners to achieve a competitive advantage requires integration of ???relational interaction theory??? into ???resource-based theory??? and ???competency-based theory???. The results of this research show that those firms that pursue business partnerships as a competitive strategy can improve performance by engaging in a range of activities, which facilitate the building of ???relational capital??? of the partnership. The results provide support for conclusion that ???communication behaviour??? is a central and important mediating variable in the performance of business partnerships. Overall, the findings are consistent with the literature in finding support for the notion that ???joint alliance competence??? is a direct antecedent of businesspartnering performance. There is support for the notion that the partnership???s ability to govern and manage itself is an important determinant of ???communication behaviour??? and ???co-ordination behaviour???. The results identified ???market orientation???, ???co-ordination behaviour??? and ???relational capital??? as all having a direct influence on business-partnership profitability. Finally, given the relatively high failure rates of business partnerships this research provides greater opportunity for a discussion of the kinds of intervention strategies that could be used to minimise the risk of failure and/or to improve partnership performance. Keywords: competency, alliance, business partnership, relationship marketing, businesspartnering competency, relational factors view, resource based view, relational interaction theory, market orientation, interpersonal relational competency, alliance structure, process model.

Abstract:
Business-wide integration is a key strategic objective for survival in a global market place. The objective of the work presented in this thesis was to conduct a detailed study of business integration methods with a view to identifying development areas and developing the necessary methods, procedures and tools to address these gaps. Following a literature review the following development needs were identified: - -A Reference Model - An Audit Method -A Methodology The latter part of this thesis presents, in detail, the Reference Model, the Audit Method and the Methodology which' has been developed to fulfil the gaps identified. The Reference Model identifies six performance areas and criteria which an organisation would need to fulfil to achieve business-wide integration. The Methodology provides necessary framework, tools and techniques to achieve the performance criteria specified within the Reference Model. The Methodology consists of six main phases which ensures that the business vision, objectives and strategy are deployed through various functions down to operational processes. This is achieved through the use of an integrated set of performance measures. The Audit Method provides a set of procedures to measure an organisations performance against the criteria identified within the Reference Model. It is also used to measure the effectiveness of the methodology towards the achievement of the Reference Model. The application of the Methodology is illustrated through three different case studies. All three case studies, through the Audit Method, demonstrate that the application of the Methodology has resulted in considerable and measurable improvements in the levels of integration. Throughout the thesis emphasis has been placed on the research methods employed. The thesis concludes with a review of the work done and the research methods employed.

Sears, R. W. "Business jet safety and accident study." Thesis, Cranfield University, 2013. http://dspace.lib.cranfield.ac.uk/handle/1826/8567.

Full text
Abstract:
As world transport has grown in complexity, so has public pressure for safe flight. The scheduled airline industry has a consistently good safety record. Unfortunately, the business jet industry has not kept pace with the airline safety statistics and lags far behind. During safety surveys and reports over the past 5 years there has been increasing comment and concern over the perceived safety standards of business jets operations compared with normal scheduled airline services. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has reported that based on flight hours flown, the fatal accident rate for smaller jet aircraft below 15 tonnes was twice that for large passenger aircraft (CAA 2006a). The CAA also identified that the majority of the accidents occur during the approach and landing phase of the flight. There is however, a lack of research concerning business jet operations. Due to the unique and varied style of operations, business jet flights have many factors that differentiate it from normal scheduled airline operations. Business jet accidents have been reported but they have not been further investigated for any overall causes. The study described in this thesis, a Grounded Theory analysis of accident data was conducted to develop a model of the factors that contributed to the accidents. The model that was developed demonstrated that Pilot skills, Command and Crew Resource management are the key central elements, with the ground organisations such as engineering and ground operations personnel as a contributory influence. As piloting skills were determined as a key factor in the accident statistics and the accident model, a simulator trial was also conducted to assess the manual flying skill levels of business jet pilots. The trial was both a challenging manual flying task and a profile that is included as part of the Pilot Skill test prior to the issue of a commercial pilot’s licence. The simulator trial confirmed that although all the pilots were correctly tested and certified commercial pilots, a significant proportion did not fly an accurate airspeed on approach within the CAA examination tolerances. The simulator trial data and the grounded theory model found that there are concerns for the piloting skills of business jet pilots in their ability to fly an accurate airspeed on approach. The results from this investigation yield findings concerning the piloting skill and accuracy of the business jet pilots that had not previously been identified. The results also emphasise the need to include adequate testing and supervision during business jet operations. It is recommended that further research be conducted to evaluate actual piloting skill and accuracy during the licence skill test.

Abstract:
This study examines the emergence of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in white collar occupations. Recent BPO practices are compared to the offshore outsourcing of production in the context of the shift from Fordist to flexible production. The study considers BPO in light of Harry Braverman's theory of work degradation and whether or not BPO extends the traditional division of labor between conception and execution to higher skilled white collar occupations. An exploratory qualitative approach comprised of informant interviews, a focus group, and literature review was used to analyze how BPO occurs, why it happens, and where it takes place. I discuss the role of politics and corporate culture in outsourcing white collar jobs and examine the practice of transitioning workers from client to BPO service providers. The study concludes with a skill-based typology of BPO services and suggestions for policy and future research.

Abstract:
In the world of today, constant change is the “new normal”. The context of our global economy calls for a new set of entrepreneurial leaders; leaders who embrace and diligently find the way forward for their organizations. In this context, leading decision makers need efficient tools for smart business model decision-making. (Ries, 2011) Thus, this thesis sets out to answer following questions, with the purpose to inform those seeking a fundament for advantageous business model decision-making. MAIN QUESTION: Can the Business Model Canvas be an advantageous tool for business model decision-making in large enterprises? SUB QUESTION 1: What are the limitations of the Business Model Canvas in the decision-making process? SUB QUESTION 2: What modifications might be applied to increase the relevance of the Business Model Canvas as a tool for large enterprises? To answer these questions, the thesis presents relevant theory regarding key concepts behind the business model, frameworks and tools commonly used in the startup community (the Business Model Canvas, Customer Development, Lean Startup, and Lean Canvas), as well as an overview of the concepts of strategy and dynamic capabilities. The empirical procedure begins with hybrid brainstorming sessions and in-depth interviews, and continues with a workshop and evaluation interviews and questionnaires. The empirical work is conducted with Microsoft Sweden Services’ executive leadership team, spanning a time period of approximately one month. The results are derived by reviewing the empirical findings in light of theory. In short, the results show: (1) That five out of six leadership team members regarded the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as a 4 or 5 on a 1-5 scale, ranging from “Prefer traditional tools” (e.g. a business plan), to “Prefer the BMC” (2) That the following areas where identified as “Key areas of improvement” by the leadership team (number of members considering this a key area for improvement in brackets): Connection to strategy (4/6), Connection to organizational capabilities (3/6), Connection to values (2/6), Mixing different levels of abstraction (1/6), Connection to compete (5/6), Ability to track development over time (4/6) The results are then discussed and analyzed, presenting critique of and limitations to the tools, as well as suggesting modification and a new model, The Business Model House (The BMH), which was created by this researcher and is based on following decisions: Integrate chosen aspects of the BMC and the Lean Canvas Add a foundation of values Add a ceiling of strategy Add an intersection of dynamic capabilities Add a third, optional, dimension capturing the transition between business models and innovation accounting. The purpose of these development decisions is to offer a more holistic and yet simple tool for business model decision-making.

Abstract:
Startups are young technology-based companies focused on developing state-of-the-art products or services under conditions of uncertainty. In this scenario, an inappropriate business model can lead to business failure since the business model describes the architecture of the elements that allow an organization to create, configure, and appropriate value. This dissertation aims to identify how business models are associated with the failure of startups. For this purpose, we use a single case-study based on one Brazilian startup, Monkey'n Apps. The data was collected through interviews with the founder and one employee. Our analyses evaluate the constructs presented on Wirtz's (2016) integrated business model and then we relate those partial models to the processes of value creation, value configuration and value appropriation. Our results suggest that the start-up failed because of the resource model. Despite being the most critical partial model, the resource model was characterized by a misalignment between the founders led to a poor leadership. The lack of management skills contributed deteriorate the environment in the company that later on let the founder to ignore their primary asset, their employees.

Abstract:
This is a case study on a water sports facility named Liquid Leisure which is owned by Stuart Marston. The aim of this case study is to get a deeper understanding of Liquid Leisure’s capital and business structure and how it affects Liquid Leisure when trying to raise capital. It will also look at potential knowledge gaps within Liquid Leisure and how these potential gaps have formed Liquid Leisure as a company. There are a significant number of research that point out that small/family businesses operates in different ways compared to large businesses. Because of these deviations it is important to know how small/family businesses think to get an understanding of their advantages and disadvantages. This research will provide a deeper understanding of Liquid Leisure as a small/family businesses and how they address corporate governance, bootstrapping and the agency problem. It will also give an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages facing Liquid Leisure when raising debt and equity. These aspects have been compared to the complexity in the characteristics of small/family businesses. This will later be compared to Stuart Marston’s views and how Liquid Leisure is being operated. The results shows that Liquid Leisure has some characteristics in common with other small/family businesses but that Stuart’s behaviour create some complications for Liquid Leisure.

Barendregt, Arie T. "Do small enterprises study their competitors? : a case study analysis of the competitor study by Dutch business-to-business small eneterprises." Thesis, Kingston University, 2010. http://eprints.kingston.ac.uk/20886/.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to address the knowledge gap regarding competitor study practices in small enterprises, to develop new theory, and to present 'best competitor study practices'. It uses a cross-sectional qualitative multi-case study methodology to study these practices of 7 small Dutch business-to-business enterprises. The study reveals that the SE's life cycle stage development is not related to the development of competitor study activities. The pace and intensity of these activities is dictated by the external environment's competitive intensity. SE owner-managers play leading roles and are fully involved in this competitor study. Other SE managers are only partially involved in operational study. SE owner-managers with Business Administration educations use more data sources than those without this discipline. The research uses strong, stable and weak relative competitive market positions to categorize the 7 SEs, and discovers relationships between SE competitor study activities and these positions. SEs with strong positions place a low importance on competitors, and they do not cooperate with them. These SEs study new technology, and they are neutral or negative about the usefulness of competitor study. Their subjects are strategic, and they use the highest number of sources, personal sources, external sources, and external direct data sources. SEs with weak positions place a high importance on competitors and cooperate with them. They focus on tactical competitor subjects, and they are positive about its usefulness. These SEs use the lowest number of sources, personal sources, external sources, and external direct data sources. They are also responsible for most of the discovered unethical and illegal data collection practices. SEs with strong or stable relative market positions improve their market positions with developed absorptive capacities, whereas SEs with weak relative market positions do not. The implication of these outcomes is that they establish the new theory regarding SE competitor study. The main limitations of this cross-sectional study are the use of only a selected, non-random small number of Dutch business-to-business small enterprises in a small geographical region and in various industry sectors. The study's implication for practice are 3 'best practice' competitor study recommendations sets relative to the 3 SE relative competitive market position categories. Finally, the study presents recommendations to the Dutch government how to it could improve the law against illegal data collection and how it could communicate this law to Dutch SMEs.

The aim of the research was to create a case study that included: observations of the EPRM process and its wider context; a comparison of the process with that used traditionally; and an assessment of the effectiveness of the process and its outcomes. A review of the literature suggests that the incidences of research and political theory being proactively and practically applied to policy making by those who are political or social science practitioners are few. Much of the research in this field occurs independent of policy operation, and is often observational and critical in its nature, creating an opportunity for novel study and practical input to the policy making process. Using participant observation, documentary evidence, survey methods and interviews, the case study presented here provides an insight into the workings of the EPRM in the context of business-environment policy making in post-devolution Wales. It shows that in practice the Panel's work was novel and, although suffering from some limitations, it could be suitable for use in other policy areas and by other non-autonomous devolved governments. The thesis concludes that the EPRM process resulted in viable, sensible public policy recommendations that were the product of a valid evidence base and credible public participation, and that it was a fit for purpose, effective and innovative method for developing policy ideas.

Kasase, William K. "Business incubators in Zambia: A study of the impact on small business enterprises." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/25098.

Abstract:
This study tested the impact of Business Incubators (BI) in stimulating the growth of small to medium businesses in a Southern African country, Zambia. The study explores the existence, awareness, beliefs and experience in a sub Saharan context, identifying the key impact factors. The study was aimed at understanding whether the operation of business incubators would result in stimulating small to medium business enterprises the same way it does in the west. To achieve this, the study reviewed the existing literature on the subject matter and analysed the collected data using a questionnaire was analysed. The collected data was analysed using SSPS. The results of the analysis revealed that 64% of the respondents had heard about Business Incubators. This was done through a scientific research by a well selected set of interview questionnaires, from a sample size of 300 small to medium businesses. Only 19% confirmed receiving business assistance from a support initiative. 95% of the total respondents confirmed that a business incubator program would impact the growth of their businesses in many areas. The study further found that there were a few challenges with access to a Business Incubator. Prominent amount them was the restricted access to SMEs located in the cities. Secondly, the respondents bemoaned that the application procedure was complicated and needed to be simplified and translated into local languages. The research makes the conclusion that Business Incubators have a positive impact on the growth of small businesses in Zambia, based on the empirical evidence obtained during the study. The study revealed 32% of incubated businesses had reduced their operation costs. Contrary to available research, entrepreneurs who had received support from Business Incubators employed fewer employees than those that did not. The study therefore, questioned how business incubators increased the probability of the long term survival of the enterprise.

Al-Somali, Sabah A. "Electronic commerce adoption : a study of business-to-business practice in Saudi Arabia." Thesis, Aston University, 2012. http://publications.aston.ac.uk/18773/.

Abstract:
Electronic commerce (e-commerce) has become an increasingly important initiative among organisations. The factors affecting adoption decisions have been well-documented, but there is a paucity of empirical studies that examine the adoption of e-commerce in developing economies in the Arab world. The aim of this study is to provide insights into the salient e-commerce adoption issues by focusing on Saudi Arabian businesses. Based on the Technology-Organisational-Environmental framework, an integrated research model was developed that explains the relative influence of 19 known determinants. A measurement scale was developed from prior empirical studies and revised based on feedback from the pilot study. Non-interactive adoption, interactive adoption and stabilisation of e-commerce adoption were empirically investigated using survey data collected from Saudi manufacturing and service companies. Multiple discriminant function analysis (MDFA) was used to analyse the data and research hypotheses. The analysis demonstrates that (1) regarding the non-interactive adoption of e-commerce, IT readiness, management team support, learning orientation, strategic orientation, pressure from business partner, regulatory and legal environment, technology consultants‘ participation and economic downturn are the most important factors, (2) when e-commerce interactive adoption is investigated, IT readiness, management team support, regulatory environment and technology consultants‘ participation emerge as the strongest drivers, (3) pressure from customers may not have much effect on the non-interactive adoption of e-commerce by companies, but does significantly influence the stabilisation of e-commerce use by firms, and (4) Saudi Arabia has a strong ICT infrastructure for supporting e-commerce practices. Taken together, these findings on the multi-dimensionality of e-commerce adoption show that non-interactive adoption, interactive adoption and stabilisation of e-commerce are not only different measures of e-commerce adoption, but also have different determinants. Findings from this study may be valuable for both policy and practice as it can offer a substantial understanding of the factors that enhance the widespread use of B2B e-commerce. Also, the integrated model provides a more comprehensive explanation of e-commerce adoption in organisations and could serve as a foundation for future research on information systems.

Tähtinen, J. (Jaana). "The dissolution process of a business relationship:a case study from tailored software business." Doctoral thesis, University of Oulu, 2001. http://urn.fi/urn:isbn:9514265300.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract This research aims at developing theory about the dissolution process of business-to-business relationships in tailored software context. Although dissolving business relationships can be viewed as one of the essential themes of marketing, the existing research on dissolution does not provide us with a holistic picture of the dissolution as a process. This research builds an empirically-grounded model of the business relationship dissolution process. First, a theoretical, tentative model of the process of business relationship dissolution is built. Second, empirical knowledge is acquired from a case study of business relationship dissolution in a software context. The case study data has been collected from various sources, from both seller and buyer organisations as well as network actors, through interviews and also from other written and oral sources in order to ensure triangulation. Third, the findings of the case study are compared to the tentative process model and the model is adjusted accordingly, thus developing the empirically-grounded process model. The process model includes three elements: the nature of the relationship, the factors influencing its dissolution, and the dissolution process. It incorporates both the time dimension and the multiplicity of the actors (individuals, companies, other relationships) involved into the model. The nature of the relationship is classified (terminal, continuous, episodic) as are the influencing factors and events (predisposing, precipitating and attenuating). The dissolution process is modelled by using stages, which describe the different action and time periods of the process, and by using levels, which describe the different actors who bring the process about. Six stages are distinguished: the communication stage, consideration stage, disengagement stage, enabling stage, restoration stage, and sensemaking / aftermath stage. The concept of stage is used to divide the complex process into more comprehensible periods and to emphasise that in each stage, managers' actions differ. The dissolution process does not always proceed through all the stages, nor have the stages any particular order.

Full text
Abstract:
In the past few years we have seen the near collapse of the world financial system, and we still have yet to find solutions for world poverty or the food crisis. People have started looking for new solutions in order to solve these problems and are considering new employment options besides the traditional for-profit business sector. Employees are increasingly looking for work in organizations that have a more sustainable approach to business. One organization type that fits these criteria is a social business. Most of the research in social entrepreneurship and social businesses, however, has concentrated on the social entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial process so far. Only few studies have explored the employee side. Similarly, research on perceived employee motivation has mainly concentrated on the traditional for-profit businesses and on non-profit organizations. Although employee motivation is considered as crucial to the success of any business, perceived employee motivation in established social businesses has scarcely been researched yet. The purpose of this thesis is to understand why people choose to work in a social business, and what motivates them to work there. This research was conducted as a single case study following Stake (1995). It was carried out in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Reuse Centre Ltd in Finland. In order to achieve our goal, we have found it helpful to combine relevant motivation theories such as intrinsic motivation, task significance, prosocial motivation, value congruence, and meaningfulness, with current social business theories. As a result of our research, we have developed a model that elaborates how employees make their decision on employment and what influences their perceived motivation. Our findings suggest that both, the distinct business model and the mission of a social business have a great impact on people’s choice of employment. Moreover, the company values, which are partly derived from the mission of a social business, also influence prospective employees’ choice of employment. In addition, the employees’ educational background impacts their choice as their values reflect their education. They are also looking for such work, whose content fits their education. In our study we have tried to point out that perceived employee motivation in a social business is also strongly influenced by value congruence. Moreover, the perceived meaningfulness that derives from the social business’ mission has an impact on the perceived employee motivation. The employees feel that their work is positively affecting people, society, and the environment, which results in task significance and prosocial motivation. Finally, the flexibility of the work, the ability to influence the work content, and the work atmosphere, are also shown to exercise a great influence on perceived employee motivation.

The result from this study provided some starting points to research about reasons why SMEs have such high risks of failure in the initial years of their establishment. On this especial case study, challenges were about two main issue. 1. The process of using strategic management tools were not rather a simple collection of strategic information but a complicated process of defining, answering and deciding serious strategic questions. 2. Lack of an independent organization inside the SME company in which the only responsibility is to ensure that strategies are being implemented on all levels. This can bean extra burden on the executive management team since they are dealing with everyday tasks related to everyday operations and could damage the task of ensuring that strategy is being fully implemented. The thesis act as an initial investigation and further investigations must be applied on big diverse groups of case studies to reach to general finding which can be applied and benefited by industry.

The Study of Business-to-Business Customer Relationship Management ABSTRACT It’s getting more difficult to maintain the relationship with vested and potential customers in a keen competition market. However, customer relationship management (CRM) is regarded as an important management tool to create “customer value” and retain customers. Since each customer has different value to the enterprise, how can an enterprise identify “valuable customer”? As previous CRM related researches are most focused on individual customers, business to business (B2B) relationship is seldom mentioned. The purpose of this study is to probe into B2B CRM. In addition to set up a customer segment mode, important suggestions are provided, too. Threes objectives are included in this research. The first is to apply the CRM model used by McKenzie (2001) in his writing “The Relationship-Based Enterprise: Powering Business Success Through Customer Relationship Management” to segment customers into partners, old customers, faithful customers and consumers. The second is to examine customer value indicators in base of past literatures. The final is to construct a managerial opportunity grid so as to efficiently and effectively satisfy customer needs. The outcomes of the analysis show that 60% sale comes from partners, which account for 30% of the total sample. Approximately, 23% sale comes from old customers that are 12% of total sample. And 24% sale comes from faithful customers who are about one fifth of the sample. About 24% of the total samples, the contribution are find as consumers in this study less than 4% of total sale. This study also reveals that, not each value measurement has an absolute relationship. Furthermore, its consistence is far away from the expectation. In other words, different value measurements have different outcomes. The 80/20 rule is not applicable to this research. But customer values are different indeed subject to different segments.

To adapt the globalization wave and fast change era, the new issue enterprises encountered is how to make a prompt response and correct decision. In addition, Business Intelligence System (hereinafter referred to as BIS) is the most optimal information of assisting enterprises in the management phase of decision-making at present; however, by viewing relevant academic researches and conclusions, it found that there’s no necessary positive efficiency yielded from enterprises’ investment in information technology and their operating performance; in another word, it is the so-called Productivity Paradox. Therefore, this study intended to analyze the empirical case study to understand that the correlation between the introduction of business intelligence and enterprise’ operating performance, and hereby use such correlation to understand whether the introduced BIS can truly bring enterprises with corresponding operational efficiency or not? For enterprises’ sustainable operation, the most important key is the demonstration of their operating performance; however, in view of operating performance, most managers are often concerned with improving the entire work efficiency for their companies, to most enterprise owners or shareholders who are only concerned with improving their profit and operating ability, as well as the case study company. Thus, this study used two aspects to conduct corresponding tests, one is the test of「the aspect of work efficiency」which used the questionnaire survey method, and another test is the「the aspect of financial performance」which adopted the financial statement and information of case study company that stated in Market Observation Post System, and this study obtained these conclusions: 一、Aspect of Work Efficiency 1.It has significant effect on「internal operation benefit」. In accordance with its superintendents’ opinions, the levels of influence, from high to low, on those questions of「internal operation benefit」are the「statement information accuracy」, 「statement information integrity」, 「statement information transparency and valence」, 「statement information consistency」, 「statement information timeliness」 and 「indirect department efficiency」. 2.It also has significant effect on「internal management efficiency」. According to its superintendents’ opinions, the levels of influence, from high to low, on those questions of「internal management efficiency」 are the 「integrating the account balancing speed for enterprise’s departments」, 「enterprise’s decision- making procedures」, 「enterprise’s integral operating cost」, 「collaboration with each department’s business growth」 and 「collaboration with enterprise’s target and action」. 二、Aspect of Financial Performance 1.For the average growth rate of EPS in「profitability indicator」, it has improved about 88%, ROA average growth rate has improved about 59%, and ROE average growth rate has improved about 57%. 2.For the average growth rate of Accounts Receivable Turnover Ratio in「operation competence indicator」, it has declined about 2%, the average growth rate of Inventory Turnover Ratio has declined about 6%, thus the growth rate of these two indicators has not yet improved significantly, due to there were influenced respectively by external environment and the case study company’s sales and production strategies. For the entire case study company, the days of balance has shortened about 2~3 work days and improved about 20% work efficiency. It has really improved the entire work efficiency to achieve the growth of 「profit-making」target after introducing BIS; therefore, the case study company’s operational efficiency has certainly been improved by introducing BIS. At the same time, it also showed that not all relevant financial performance indicators can produce substantial and significant benefits only by one information system, thus enterprises shall take the improvement of work efficiency as the main consideration when evaluating the introduction of BIS.

Currently, business entities which use uniform invoices shall calculate their business tax based on their sales amount; however, the business tax for certain business entities may be calculated by the competent authority upon the assessed sales amount at the tax rate using the “Regulations for Assessing Business Tax of Certain Business Entities”. Business entities usually dispute about the business tax assessing system. Not only against Humanism, the rules in assessing system do not match the real business condition and the assessing sales amount seems to be lower. Small business which should uses uniform invoices always hides; therefore, it influences normal growth of tax revenue and destroys tax base directly and indirectly. The fairness of taxation system is also being questioned. We should pay much attention to the problem of tax erosion. J. Buchanan advocated, as long as the obtained assignment process is according to the system rule or from the unanimous agreement, then no matter what results, all considered equal fair. Based on Humanism, the obligation occurred because people have equal concern and respect with others under the evil of ignorance and/or the evil of uncertain. This case study applies reflective equilibrium method to discuss about the foregoing business assessing system. After studying, the business tax for certain business entities which calculating by assessed sales amount at the regulated tax rate, no matter the scope, or the Regulations for Assessing Business Tax of Certain Business Entities is not accord with the agreement under the evil of ignorance and and/or the evil of uncertain. To match up economic development and meet the real fact, the foregoing assessing system shall be examined entirely and the scope shall be diminished to make the taxation as fair as possible.

In this study, a case study method was used to select the T-brand team with the largest market share in Taiwan taxi fleet as the research object. Collected approximately 670,000 sets of corporate ticket transactions for the T-brand fleet in 2016, 2017, and conducted a rider record analysis. The analysis was conducted in three orientations—enterprise introduction, corporate car use, and the use of boarding vouchers. This study finds that users who use vouchers most frequently use mobile phone APPs for taxi calls, which account for 64.89% of all taxi behaviors. The location of business users who use the ticket is Taipei City, which accounts for 73% of the imported company ticket. According to the analysis of business types, the number of imported hotels (40.6%), ticket usage (37.3%), and ridership (39.56%) for Type F (wholesale, retail, and catering) companies are all highest. The time slots for corporate users are concentrated at 09:00~17:00, and the peak time is at 13:00~15:00. The average take-up time is 11~15 minutes, which means that most enterprises mainly rely on short-term demand. This study finds that (1) the ratio of each type of T-brand consortium''s introduction of ticketing occupies less than 1% of the total number of companies in Taiwan, indicating that there is still much room for growth in the implementation of ticketing services. (2) The maximum car use time is from 13:00 to 15:00. Drivers can be encouraged to undertake tasks during this time to receive the application car crowd. (3) Integration with the enterprise ERP system and automatic transfer of employee ride records can help companies accelerate the internal travel expense reimbursement process.

Since the start of economic reform of China in 1979, inward foreign direct investment (FDI) to China has been increased tremendously. It is well known that FDI plays an important role in the economic development of mainland China (Sun et al., 2002; Hsiao et al., 2003). China advocated the“progressive reform” policy, and shifted from a planned economy to a market economy. The progressive reform is from the south to the north and from the east to the west. As economy grow the problem of regional inequality became seriously. Market development and environmental factors (i.e. infrastructure) have difference among provinces, which may influence the efficiency of multinational enterprises’ (MNEs’) subsidiaries in the mainland China. Fan and Wang (2000, 2004, 2006, and 2009) created the market development indices for 31 provinces of mainland China; it investigated how the degree of market development and environmental factors influence the efficiency of MNE’s subsidiaries. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is widely used to measure the efficiency of peer decision making units (DMUs) with multi outputs and multi inputs. This study will apply the two-stage DEA approach, proposed by Simar and Wilson (2007), to evaluate the impact of environmental variables on the efficiency of MNEs’ subsidiaries in mainland China. In the first stage, the technical efficiency of the MNEs’ subsidiaries is estimated by the BCC model. In the second stage, the bootstrap method are use to evaluate the impact of environmental variables on the technical efficiency of MNEs’ subsidiaries. The dataset of MNE’s subsidiaries in mainland China based on the data of the NERI INDEX of marketization, CCIS, China yearbook, and China City statistical Yearbook. These subsidiaries can be divided into three groups, Hi-Tech industry, manufacturing industry and traditional industry. Empirical results can provide managers of MNE’s subsidiaries in mainland china a guideline to set their operational strategies and to government their FDI policies.

To obtain the goal of this research, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used as the methodology. The data collection is mainly based on online survey and it will be analyzed by AHP Decision. In addition, the results show that the effectiveness of e-business using and technical protection are the most influence alternatives to encourage Cambodian participating in internet business. Nevertheless, the authority, power, and information quality alternatives seem to be not having much influence. Significantly, this study also provides some implications for investors and entrepreneurs to improve consumer’s adaption in using e-business.

In line with the trend of globalization and taxation reforms, the importance of consumption tax to taxable base enlargement is increasingly drawing the attention of the world. Despite a great number of small business entities, the tax revenue levied from small business entities accounts only for less than 1% of the total business tax revenue nation-wide. In consideration of current financial difficulties sweeping across the country, reforms on taxation system for small business entities are truly an urgent issue concerning reforms on business tax system. The study adopts the literature review and a system comparison to make in-depth discussion on problems concerning the current business tax system for small business entities as well as potential reforms thereof, from the angle of business tax practices carried out on small business entities. According to the findings, The study proposes the following suggestions: 1.Amendments to the Regulations for Assessing Business Tax of Certain Business Entities are required, for the sake of the fair, just, and efficient taxation. 2.The self-filling system on sales amounts by small business entities should be established. Small business entities should have a habit of keeping a simplified daily log, and they should be included under the category of value-added business tax system. 3.In reference to the self-filling system by small business entities carried out abroad, it is necessary to stipulate the Report on Operation of Small Business Entities as well as complementary measures, as a reference for the taxing authority to check and audit. 4.The tax rate for small business entities is to be increased to 2%, and the tax creditable ratio on input tax is to be increased to 30% as well, in order to integrate the business tax system. 5.In order to fulfill the policy to integrate both inspection and management on street vendors, it is recommended to change current inspection methods on street vendors into taxes levied by local government upon business permits issued to street vendors
