Abstract:

This paper extends a previously presented SiC power module design philosophy to critical, higher-level components for increased system performance, namely the DC bussing and DC link capacitor design. The DC bussing is essential to connect the DC bulk capacitors to the high-speed power modules and it is imperative that low inductance is maintained while current carrying capability and temperature be maintained. Often, high frequency capacitors are added to systems to increase performance by compensating for extra stray inductance that the DC bussing can introduce. However, issues that may arise by doing such are presented and it is shown that the best solution is to optimize the DC bus structure rather than compensate for a poor design. Finally, the implemented bussing is shown and full power system results presented for the inverter stack-up design.

<p>William Albert Bussing Burhaus, conocido con Don William, fue profesor de la Escuela de Biología de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) desde 1966 hasta 1991, año en que se acogió a pensión, nombrado Profesor Catedrático en 1978. Posterior a su retiro fue nombrado Profesor Emérito y fungió como curador de la Colección Ictiológica del Museo de Zoología de la UCR hasta su deceso el 17 de noviembre de 2014. Como investigador trabajó en las áreas de taxonomía, sistemática, ecología, zoogeografía y evolución de peces de agua dulce y marinos de Costa Rica y Centro América, publicando cerca de 90 trabajos (ver lista de publicaciones abajo) y describiendo 60 especies (ver lista de especies descritas abajo).</p>

Abstract:

Based on a combination of intensive literature review, electronic database searches, re-identification of museum specimens and fieldwork, we hereby provide an updated checklist of the freshwater fishes of continental and insular Costa Rica. This checklist, systematically arranged at the ordinal and familial level, includes nomenclatural revisions, distributional information, and when appropriate, cross-references on the basis of Bussing (1998). According to our results, the native Costa Rican freshwater fish fauna is composed by 250 species, divided into 119 genera, 49 families and 19 orders; increasing in 108 the number of species originally reported by Bussing (1998). By far, the vast majority of these species, according to their supposed tolerance to salinity, are peripheral (63.2%), followed by secondary freshwater fishes (23.6%); only 13.2% are primary freshwater fishes. 24 species in this checklist appear to be endemic to Costa Rica. In addition to the native fauna 8 exotic species are reported.

Abstract:

In 2006, the author began research on current issues in rural education in which teachers recounted narratives of teaching. As deficits, they spoke of an inability to retain teachers, too little diversity in student programming, and lack of access to extra-curricular activities. They also noted challenges brought on by education reform that increased the use of distance education and long distance bussing. Positively, teachers mentioned how much they cared about their students and their school. They were proud of how they worked hard to meet student and community needs. This paper discusses teacher experiences with distance education and the use of the technology required for the delivery of such programs. Teachers urged that distance education must hold a dominant place of importance in the delivery of a well-rounded education to children in rural areas but that such a focus also requires a variety of supports to schools.

This paper shares my journey from rigid, self-doubting, and strict to fluid, confident, freedom of thinking as I created, moved, thought, and philosophized my way through an arts-based and community-based research course. In that course, I created a photography piece, “Bluff City Merger.” Through the creation of this project my view of who I was as a researcher and as a person began to shift and an unmasking began to take place by the end of this project. Bluff City Merger created a space that would allow for the individual to construct their own meaning and understanding of all that took place in Memphis, Tennessee (US). The purpose of this piece was to spark conversation and conceptualization surrounding the bussing controversy of the early 70’s in the city of Memphis while also contemplating the current state of the school system by merging photographs from the past with those from the present.

Sampah dan perilaku membuang sampah sembarangan merupakan masalah yang dapat memiliki implikasi kesehatan, estetika, dan sosial. Salah satu bagian dari perilaku menyampah yang belum banyak dibahas dan diintervensi adalah perilaku table-littering, yaitu meninggalkan perlengkapan makan kotor di meja makan kantin atau restoran setelah makan. Perilaku ini menyebabkan kantin atau restoran menjadi kotor dan berantakan. Selain itu, jika ada peralatan makan kotor di meja makan, maka akan menghambat pelanggan selanjutnya yang akan makan di meja tersebut. Belum banyak penelitian yang membahas tentang perilaku ini dan penyebab-penyebabnya. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan penyebab pengunjung kantin melakukan table-littering serta persepsi pengunjung kantin mengenai penyediaan bussing station sebagai opsi solusi untuk mengurangi table-littering. Wawancara semi-terstruktur dilakukan terhadap 20 mahasiswa, 8 penjual makanan di kantin, dan 4 petugas kebersihan. Analisis tema terhadap respons partisipanmenunjukkan lima alasan sebagai penyebab littering: malas, terburu-buru, merasa bahwa membereskan meja adalah tanggung jawab petugas kebersihan, tidak terbiasa, dan lupa. Penyediaan bussingstationdipersepsi sebagai opsi mengurangi table-litteringdi kantin lingkungan universitas.

Abstract:

During the past two years, fine pitch copper wire bonding has finally entered high volume production. It is estimated that nearly 15% of all wire bonders used in production are now equipped for copper wire bonding. Most of these are used exclusively for copper wire bonding. In terms of pitch, copper wire is only barely lagging behind the most advanced gold applications. The most commonly used copper wire is 20um in diameter and 18um copper wire is already being used in mass production. Evaluations with even finer wire are underway. Although some technical challenges remain, many years of research have now resolved most of the problems associated with copper wire bonding and attention is beginning to shift from merely ensuring reliable manufacturing processes to optimizing processes for efficiency and throughput. The most advanced wire bonders now have pre-configured processes specifically designed for copper. In addition to throughput optimization, further cost reductions are being sought. Among these is the desire to eliminate the high-cost gold not just from the wire, but also from the substrate. On the substrate side the electronics packaging industry still works with electrolytic nickel / electrolytic (soft) gold (Ni/Au) for copper wire bond applications. This surface finish works with copper wire bonding but includes some disadvantages, such as:- Thick expensive Au layers of 0.1 to 0.4μm- Electrically connected pads (bussing for the plating) which requires added space on the substrate.- Pd-coated copper wire often delivers better results on gold covered finishes, but is two to three times more expensive as pure copper wire Furthermore electrolytic Ni/Au was not chosen for Cu wire bonding as a result of in-depth investigations for the most effective surface finish. The selection was made because it was the surface finish with the highest distribution in the market for wire bond packages. This paper is offering the results of a two company joint work regarding alternative copper wire bondable surface finishes. The result of the project is separated in 2 papers/publications. The first publication [1] presents the investigations with Cu wire bond pull forces and process windows of 23 different surface finish variations. The main aim was to identify alternative surface finishes for copper wire bonding. Within this study the surface finishes ENEP (Electroless Nickel/Electroless Palladium) and “Direct Electroless pure Pd on copper” (pure EP finish) was identified as copper wire bondable finishes with the pure Cu wire. The second part of the evaluation summarizes an in-depth study of copper wire bonding tests after thermal aging with ENEP and the pure EP surface finish using the pure copper wire. The results of this investigation does include results with pull forces after thermal aging and an IMC Investigation with FIB Pictures of the copper wire/surface finish connection in order to evaluate the reliability of such an interconnection.

Abstract:

Direct marketing provides an advantage in approaching consumers. Communication that happens allows us more closely, able to change the behavior and know the needs required by consumers accurately. But this technique has a lack of time. It takes a long time to convince consumers to buy the products offered. Bussines intelligent with data mining approach to consumer data is required. This process will analyze the potential possessed by a consumer. At the stage of the DSS used SVM method to predict whether consumers will buy products that have been offered. Bussines intelligent built proven able to predict consumers who have the potential to buy products. Tests show the greatest prediction accuracy rate is 89.5% with a combination of data traning of 70% of the dataset.

Penelitian ini menggunakan User Experience Questionaire (UEQ) dalam menilai pengalaman pengguna dari FIORI Bussim dan dilanjutkan dengan menilai pengaruh dari pengalaman penggunaan FIORI Bussim itu sendiri terhadap tingkat pemahaman dari mahasiswa/i dalam memahami proses bisnis yang terintegrasi dengan perangkat lunak SAP (System Application and Product in Data Processing) pada mahasiswa. Secara rinci, kegiatan penelitian akan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu mengevaluasi kembali dan menetapkan perumusan masalah yang akan diselesaikan, melakukan studi literatur, pengumpulan data, penilaian dan konstruksi kuesioner untuk menilai pengalaman penggunaan FIORI Bussim dan pengaruhnya terhadap tingkat pemahaman penggunaan oleh pengguna yang dapat disebut sebagai tahapan post-condition, melakukan analisis dan pengujian dan mengambil kesimpulan. Hasil pengujian pada penelitian ini menggunakan User Experience Questionaire (UEQ) pada SAP-GUI (Graphical User Interface) dan FIORI Bussim dengan jumlah responden yang terlibat pada pengujian adalah sebanyak 132 orang mahasiswa yang menunjukkan hasil bahwa nilai pengalaman penggunaan FIORI Bussim lebih baik daripada SAP-GUI. Selanjutnya, nilai pengujian pada penelitian ini terhadap domain pemahaman yang dilihat dari beberapa domain yaitu domain kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik menunjukkan bahwa lebih banyak responden yang mengalami penurunan dibandingkan peningkatan positif. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengalaman penggunaan yang lebih baik dari FIORI Bussim ternyata tidak serta merta membuat tingkat pemahaman terhadap proses bisnis dalam SAP menjadi lebih baik.

Abstract:

Колорадський жук Leptinotarsa decemlineata вважається одним з найбільш небезпечних шкідників картоплі, який є причиною суттєвих економічних збитків для вітчизняного агровиробника. Дане дослідження присвячене вивченню впливу чотирьох штамів мікроорганізмів Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107, Beauveria bussiana eko/106, Bacillus thuringienis eko/212 та Streptomyces avermitilis eko/302, а також їхніх комбінацій, які володіють високою інсектицидною активністю проти широкого спектра шкідників сільськогосподарських культур, на личинок колорадського жука ІІ – ІІІ віку. Личинки колорадського жука у кількості 20 особин поміщали на молоді рослини картоплі, листя якої попередньо обробляли культурою досліджуваних штамів мікроорганізмів. Дослід закладали у троьох повторностях. Було досліджено наступні варіанти обробки листя рослин картоплі: 1. Обробка культуральною рідиною Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107 з титром 2,5‧108 КУО/мл. 2. Обробка культуральною рідиною Beauveria bussiana eko/106 з титром 2,5‧108 КУО/мл. 3. Обробка культуральною рідиною Bacillus thuringienis eko/212 з титром 2,5‧108 КУО/мл. 4. Обробка культуральною рідиною суміші Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107, Beauveria bussiana eko/106, Bacillus thuringienis eko/212, Streptomyces avermitilis eko/302 з загальним титром 2,5‧108 КУО/мл. Горщики з обробленими рослинами після поміщення личинок колорадського жука накривали перфорованими пластиковими ємностями. Тривалість дос-лідження складала 7 днів, облік загиблих личинок проводили на 1, 3 та 7 добу, мертвих личинок одразу вилучали. В результаті проведення лабораторного експерименту було встановлено, що найвищу смертність личинок колорадського жука ІІ – ІІІ віку спостерігали на 7 день при обробці рослин культурою Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107 (85,0 %), а також при обробці сумішшю Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107, Beauveria bussiana eko/106, Bacillus thuringienis eko/212 (90,0 %) та сумішшю Metarhizium anisopliae eko/107, Beauveria bussiana eko/106, Bacillus thuringienis eko/212, Streptomyces avermitilis eko/302 (95,0%). Результати дослідження свідчать про перспективність застосування вищезгаданих композицій мікроорганізмів як способу ефективного біоконтролю популяції колорадського жука.

Abstract:

This study was conducted in 2012 and replicates Bussin and Huysamenâ€™s (2004) work, conducted in 2003, on remuneration policies. It investigates the factors driving remuneration policy in South Africa and determines whether these factors have changed since 2003. Anonymous e-mail questionnaires were received from 131 senior company representatives. All participating companies were members of the South African Reward Association (SARA) or clients of a large remuneration consulting firm. Data were analysed using a chi-squared test and factor analysis. Results support Bussin and Huysamenâ€™s study, which found that the two main drivers of change in policy were the retention of talented staff and the financial results of the organisation. However, three components of remuneration are receiving greater prominence than they did in 2003: governance in the organisation, merit pay and retention strategies. These findings suggest a greater shareholder expectation that pay should be linked to performance, and that pay acts as a retention strategy for critical staff.

Abstract:

In the mid-1960s, a bitter dispute broke out between parents in the Atlee-Jenner School District in Southern Alberta Canada, and the Medicine Hat School Board over the bussing of children for the first time to a new school a long distance away. The move was precipitated by the consolidation of several smaller school districts and the subsequent closing of the local school. The parents’ argument was that the road by which the bus was to travel was in an unfinished state and was dangerous. However, the conflict is illustrative of a much deeper issue. An argument might be made that this dispute illuminated a much larger crisis in rural life on the prairies. It may represent, as a case study, the problems and difficulties involved in a shift from rural life, with its unique sorts of interpersonal relationships built on the strength of local community and co-operative spirit, to a much more urbanized and structured existence. As the Great Depression had shown, the myth that you could always go back to the farm for some measure of economic security had been dispelled. However, one’s control over the education of one’s children, and thus the inculcation of appropriate values and beliefs, after having been first of all, institutionalized with universal public schooling (both Protestant and Roman Catholic), had been, at least up to this point, largely a local concern, under a central authority (Ministry of Education). School divisions on the prairies had been relatively small and numerous, for practical reasons, such as transport and regular attendance. Gradually, these small divisions came to be replaced by larger administrative units, thus threatening the perceived control and familiarity of local communities. The other half of the equation in this dispute was the reaction of the Deputy Minister at the time, W.H. Swift. Swift could empathize with the basic issues in play, having strong rural roots himself. Deputy Minister of Education, W.H. Swift was also one of the last to hold that position rising up through the ranks of the education system, from teacher to school inspector to academic. Swift had earned a Ph.D. at an early age, and rose quickly through the ranks of the civil service, learning his job under the tutelage of G. F. McNally. Swift and McNally represented a tradition in the Department, having earned their positions through experience and hard work. As such, they might be viewed as self-made moral exemplars, leaders who could be viewed as role models by the rank and file. This article seeks not only to illustrate how Swift actually functioned in his role as Deputy Minister in times of crisis and high public visibility, but also to show how he reacted when confronted with moral decisions. The Atlee case, taking place between the years 1955 and 1965, serves as an example of the controversy which had developed in many areas as small rural schools were closed as a result of the divisional amalgamations begun by the Social Credit Government before the Second World War. On a wider scale the issues embodied in the dispute also reflect a changing rural landscape. Just as the small family farm was under corporate pressure, so it was with the local school. These economic and administrative transformations brought with them social and cultural changes as well. Although the case was one of the last examples of this kind, it was certainly one of the most bitterly contested.

This research has the purpose to measure efficiency and analyze the efficiency comparison between Sharia Commercial Bank (BUS) and Sharia Bussines Unit (UUS) in Indonesia and compare the efficiency during the period 2008-2013. There are 10 Islamic banks which are used as samples of this research consisting of 3 Sharia Commercial Bank (BUS) and 7 Sharia Business Unit (UUS) that were chosen by purposive sampling. Efficiency measurements in this research using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). To determine differences in efficiency between Sharia Commercial Bank (BUS) and Sharia Bussines Unit (UUS), this study uses a different test parametric independent sample t-test. The result of this research showed that there is no significant difference between the efficiency of Sharia Commercial Bank (BUS) and Sharia Bussines Unit (UUS), during the period of 2008-2013 with possible intervention t value (-0.429) < t table (2.002) and probability value =0.000.

Abstract:

The focus of this research is to analyze the future and backward linkages of agro-industry products that support the West Sumatra tourism creative industry and vertical integration between typical snack food products of West Sumatra culinary that have added value. This study uses a regional economic approach with the Grubel-Llyod index method and analysis of input output from snack industry sector. Result of the study shows that the market potential of West Sumatra agro-industry products still has low added value due to the low value of intermediate inputs compared to the final demand. Increasing the added value of agro-industry products based on food crop products is carried out by external regions such as North Sumatra and Riau. Integration between vertical market and regional external markets occurs in fruit-based agro industry products such as mangosteen, jackfruit, and bananas, which are shown by the highest Grubel-Llyord Index value with the demand value is lower than the final demand. The development of agro-industry food products and agro-business activities supporting culinary tourism in West Sumatra can be conducted by increasing the added value of superior products through agro-processing at household producer level and creating agglomeration to enhance local demand.

The analysis is based on the answer from responden where its data are gathered from accounting students and business students of economic faculty Trisakti University. The questioners about ethical concept is took from code of ethic management accountant or internal accountant that is Competence, Confidentiality, Honesty, Objectivity, Accountability and Responsibility. Result showed that, first there are not significantly perception different between accounting students and bussines student about ethical concept of competence, objectivity, and accountability ,but there are significantly perception different between accounting students and bussines students about ethical concept confidentiallity and honesty. Abstract:

Nutraceutical evaluation was determined for two aquatic plants: Heinsia bussie and Diplazium sammatii. Plant leaves were collected from a stream in Mbak Ikot Abasi in Etoi, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and analyzed for phytochemicals, nutrients, anti-nutrients, minerals and vitamin constituents using standard analytical methods. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of bioactive compounds: alkaloids (7.26+0.06), tannin (1.05+0.37), saponin (1.68+0.42), flavonoids (7.83+0.11), cardiac glycosides (6.94+0.48) and terpenes (6.03+0.47) in H. bussie while alkaloids (7.74+0.05), tannin (0.03+0.00), flavonoids (5.37+0.83) cardiac glycosides (4.66+0.38) and terpenes (5.17+0.21) in mg/100g were found in D. sammatii. Results also showed that the leaves contained appreciable amounts of essential nutrients such as crude protein: 11.90±0.62% in H. bussie and 10.80±0.07% in D. sammatii; carbohydrate, 49.70±0.41% in D. sammatii and 39.90±0.02% in H. bussie. Other components like ash and lipid were also present in appreciable amounts. Anti-nutrients such as phytate, saponin and tannins were significantly (p=0.05) low in both vegetables. Minerals analysis showed the highest values for iron (12.05+0.0807mg/kg) and potassium (9.04+0.0307mg/kg) in D. sammatii. Other minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and magnesium were moderate in both vegetables. The vitamins recorded were axephthol, thiamin, riboflavin and ascorbic acid and were significantly (p=0.05) high. The plant leaves could be said to possess vital phytochemical and nutritional properties as well as essential mineral elements and vitamins.
