Abstract:
hysical punishment is the use of physical force to cause to body pain or discomfort, to correct children’s misbehaviour (Gershoff, 2008) and negatively impacts children’s development (Gershoff, 2002). To overcome limitations in the current state-of-art knowledge in Portugal, this study aimed to describe the maternal reports about the use of different physical punishment practices in the last year and to analyse the predictive role of child, maternal and household characteristics in the use of different physical punishment practices in the last year. A total of 289 Portuguese mothers of children aged 5 to 14 years completed the Escala de Crenças sobre a Punição Física (Machado et al., 2003) and the Inventário de Práticas Educativas Parentais (Machado et al., 2015). According to results, spanking child at the buttocks with the hand and slapping child’s hand, arm, or leg were the most reported punishment practices. Maternal tolerance toward physical punishment was the strongest and most consistent predictor of spanking child at the buttocks with the hand and slapping child’s hand, arm, or leg during the last year. Future cross-cultural studies may continue to explore the most used physical punishment practices and the characteristics that predict their use.

Abstract:
Garment industry sewing involves 8 hours of sitting in an unnatural, uncomfortable position that can lead to muscle pain and injuries. This study aims to evaluate complaints and risks of MSDs in sewing work in the garment industry. Identify complaints using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Assessment of Repetitive Task (ART) methods. Based on the results of identification with NBM of sewing operators, it was found that the body parts where complaints occurred were the waist at 89%, the right calf at 61%, the buttocks at 53%, and the back at 50% from a total of 36 sewing operators. The results of analysis using the Assessment of Repetitive Task (ART) method show that all sewing operators experience musculoskeletal disorders in the moderate level exposure category so that further review of the sewing workstation is needed. The recommended improvement is in the form of improving posture to reduce the complaints felt. Relevance for industry: this study focuses on sewing work-related factors and other risk factors, which will help researchers to better understand the risk of MSDs in the garment industry. These risk factors must be considered when creating and implementing ergonomic aspects to prevent and reduce musculoskeletal discomfort.

Abstract:
The performing art of Reog Ponorogo is a cultural heritage of the people of East Java which continues to experience development and several changes and progress. This study aims to identify the practice of commodifying high heels to complement the clothing of female dancer Jathil Obyog in the Reog Ponorogo art show. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study explain that the high heels of Jathil Obyog dancers have value in supporting the appearance so that the legs look level, as well as forming a sturdy and proportional body posture in protecting the feet of female dancers in outdoor performances. The high heel exchange rate on Jathil Obyog's dancer's clothing is to raise the social status to an economic aesthetic value, while the symbolic value of high heels is a marker of sexuality for the female dancer Jathil Obyog to convey aggressiveness and eroticism to the audience, especially men. The conclusion of this study shows that high-heeled shoes can increase the sexual attractiveness (female body) of Jathil Obyog dancers by using a combination of semi-transparent or see-through tops, as well as the use of short pants that will make the thighs and buttocks look slimmer.

Abstract:
In 1922, the German Surrealist artist Max Ernst produced a montage work that included a woman's bare buttocks protruding out of the rings of Saturn. It is, to say the least, an unusual combination of images, but one that addresses some very basic human impulses. Largely, it expresses Ernst's understanding that inscribed upon the night sky are some of our deepest held fears and fantasies. Ernst sought to generate contemporary re-phrasings of our mythologizing of the cosmos in a complex and often enigmatic way, drawing on such varied sources as Freudian psychology, late nineteenth-century symbolism, alchemy, and Surrealism. Ultimately, Ernst manages to weave an intricate, cryptically autobiographical narrative through such astronomical bodies and groups of stars as Saturn, the Pleiades, Praesepe, and Cygnus, to name but a few. This paper navigates some of the celestial imagery found in the work of Ernst between 1919 and 1934 in the hopes of demonstrating, in its own small way, just how rich a source astronomy has been for modern and contemporary art.

Abstract:
The aftermath of civil strife, note some historians, can change perceptions of gender. Particularly for males, the effect of exhaustive internal wars and the ensuing collapse of the warrior ideal relegates the soldier/hero to a marginal iconological status. Linda L. Carroll has persuasively argued, for instance, that, following the Italian wars, one finds the “damaged” images of males in Renaissance art: bowed heads, display of stomach, presentation of buttocks. In fact, male weakness and “effeminacy” can, notes Linda Dowling, follow on the military collapse of any collective state. Arthur N. Gilbert argues, in contrast, that historically in wartime, male weakness in the form of “sodomites” was rigorously persecuted. From 1749 until 1792, for instance, there was only one execution for sodomy in France, while, during the Napoleonic Wars, the period of 1803–14, seven men were executed. Such analysis suggests that, in the aftermath of civil wars, cultural attitudes toward effeminate or homosexual men shifted from suppression or persecution during martial crisis to one of latitude and perhaps tolerance in periods following the breakdown of the military collective. The aftermath of America's Civil War, the decades of the 1870s and 1880s, provides a testing ground to examine attitudes toward the soldier/hero and toward the effeminate male in a time of social and cultural disarray. At this time, an art “craze,” the Aesthetic Movement, captured popular culture. Aestheticism, seen in the eighteenth century as a “sensibility,” had, by the nineteenth century, an institutional base and a social reform ideology.

Abstract:
Background:- There is evidence that ART is associated with lipodystrophy syndrome, a disturbance of lipid metabolism characterised by insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia and fat maldistribution, usually presenting as visceral abdominal obesity and cervical fat pad accumulation (buffalo hump)1,metabolic bone disease (osteopenia and/or osteoporosis) and lactic acidosis. ART- associated dyslipidaemia is characterized by elevated serum concentrations of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein 2(LDL-c), very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), Apo lipoprotein B (apoB) and low levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL-c) constituting an atherogenic lipid profile2. Materials And Methods:- In this study 100 young patients who were attending the Antiretroviral Therapy Plus Centre & Medicine Wards, ACSR GMC, NELLORE were included randomly. Anthropometric Measurement :- Body weights were measured (to the nearest 0.5 kilogram) with the subject standing on a weighing scale after it was adjusted to zero kg. Heights were measured (to the nearest 1.0 centimeter) with the subject standing in an erect position against a vertical scale of portable standiometer and a L-square placed on the head and the head positioned to a level with the inferior margin of the bony orbit. The waist measurements were taken from the middle point between the iliac crest and the last rib as recommended by the WHO. Hip circumference was measured as the maximal circumference over the buttocks. BMIs were then calculated as weight in kilograms divided by the height in meter squared. Results:- The results of the study showed that the Anthropometric parameters on analysis showed a normal range BMI in 59% of patients. Waist-to-hip ratio which have been shown to be better reflector of body fat distribution and is significantly elevated in the HIV-infected patients on HAART. Waist-Hip ratio value analysis showed normal in 18.19% and abnormal in 81.81% of cases. The mean value in males is 0.9578 and in females is 0.9204. This showed a significant correlation to Waist/ hip ratio and the gender. Conclusions:- Significant metabolic and morphological alterations occur in HIV infected patients especially in patients on HAART. The patients on HAART had an elevated Castelli Index I, indicating an increased risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in this population. Waist-to-hip ratio which are the key indices for assessing body fat distribution were significantly raised in HAART-experienced patients in this study implying that HAART could result to lipodystrophy.

Abstract:
The activity of jewellery and art artels during the War is almost not covered in Soviet historiography because of the specifi cs of this industry. The proposed article analyses the change in the composition of jewellery artels of the Upper Volga region in the period of 1941-1945. The contribution of cooperatives to the supply of clothing to the Red Army is examined. Particular attention is paid to providing civilians with such specifi c goods as jewellery and art products. To study this issue, little-studied archival sources were used; some of them were declassifi ed only recently. In general, the products of jewellery cooperatives of the Upper Volga region during World War II can be divided into several groups: 1. Items that continued the tradition of local art crafts: jewellery and art products (earrings, brooches, cigarette cases, decoration buttons, etc.) 2. Metal haberdashery: metal dishes, metal pads on bags and briefcases, etc. 3. Military products: insignia and buttons for military uniforms, parts for gas masks and parachutes, medical equipment.

Abstract:
In today's digital era, the threat of moral damage to teenagers is not only caused by drinking, narcotics, but also narkolema. Narkolema is defined as human addiction to watching or accessing pornography through the eyes. This study aims to: (1) analyze pornographic scenes in Korean dramas, (2) analyze the causes and effects of addiction to watching pornographic scenes in Korean romance dramas. This study uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive research type as a methodological basis. Data collection was carried out on college students from Malang who are students. This research was obtained from primary and secondary data. Research data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that there are scenes that are considered pornographic in the Korean romance drama entitled Fanta G Spot and Nevertheless, namely bed scenes that show uncovered breasts and buttocks, masturbation activities, and similar relationships. The causes of college students watching pornographic scenes in Korean romance dramas include storylines that are packaged attractively and dynamically played by beautiful characters, looking for entertainment to get rid of boredom from the routine they live in, getting references such as education on relationship behavior with the opposite sex, feeling happier after watching, as well as sexual education. As a result, the perception of adolescents with pornographic aspects found in Romance Drakor becomes two opinions or two points of view. The first opinion is positive that accepts the existence of pornographic aspects in Romance Drakor as part of the elements of entertainment, art and education and does not view these pornographic aspects as elements that can have a negative impact. The second opinion is a negative point of view that accepts the existence of pornographic aspects in Romance Drakor that are considered to be part of the elements of the storyline which are packaged beautifully and cinematically and can have a negative impact with a different percentage for each individual watching.

The aim of this article is to compare the basic meanings of Russian and Polish euphemisms from the semantic field of sex. Eight areas of this field were examined: the terms for the sexual act, the male sex organ, testicles, the female sex organ, buttocks, breasts, and prostitutes. Along with the area of the sexual act, a separate meaning for ‘engaging in a sexual activity’ has been differentiated. The analysis showed that the basic meanings are divided into the same groups in both languages, which allows us to conclude that euphemisms from the semantic field of sex in Russian and Polish are created based on similar cognitive foundations.

Abstract:
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are injuries or pain that affect the human locomotor system and may affect everyone at least once in a lifetime. The accompanying chronicity, pain and disability are usually associated with mental health impairment. This study was carried out to examine the prevalence of MSDs and its relationship with psychological distress among undergraduate students from several health sciences programs. A set of self-administered questionnaires consisting of the Standardised Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) was given out to 330 undergraduate students of a public university in Malaysia. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis on the relationship between MSDs and psychological distress (depression, stress, and anxiety). The prevalence of MSDs during the past 12 months was found to be high (86.6%), with lower back pain being the most common symptom (63.3%), followed by neck pain (53.6%) and shoulder pain (50.6%). Half of the students (57.0%) reported depression, 37.3% reported anxiety, and 28.2% reported stress. The occurrence of MSDs in the regions of the shoulder, and hips or thighs or buttock regions have significant positive relationship with stress and anxiety scores of the students (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the occurrence of MSDs in the region of the wrists or hands, knees, and shoulders have significant positive relationship with the depression score (p < 0.05). In conclusion, MSDs in the shoulder, hips or thighs or buttock regions wrists or hands, and knees regions were significantly associated with psychological distress. Further intervention programs should be implemented to reduce psychological distress associated with MSDs among the students.

The court interpreted two sections of the Act: (1) section 15657, which provides for enhanced remedies for reckless neglect; and (2) section 15657.2, which limits recovery for actions based on “professional negligence.” The court held that reckless neglect is distinct from professional negligence and therefore the restrictions on remedies against health care providers for professional negligence are inapplicable.Kay Delaney sued Meadowood, a skilled nursing facility (SNF), after a resident, her mother, died. Evidence at trial indicated that Rose Wallien, the decedent, was left lying in her own urine and feces for extended periods of time and had stage I11 and IV pressure sores on her ankles, feet, and buttocks at the time of her death.

Arts of Communication as a Librarian in Presentation. Writing this article has a purpose, namely to give knowledge to librarians in order to be able to make presentations well with the art of communication and have a communication style. The art of communication is influenced by the style of communication, style is the characteristic of a person in communication, there are two aspects that can be seen in the style of communication, namely language and rhetoric. The art of effective communication is to use the 7 C model, namely: completeness, conciseness, conciderration, clarity, concreteness, courtesy, correctness. In order for a librarian’s presentation to be successful, there needs to be tips to do, namely: 1) Know PAL well (purpose, audience, logistics), 2) Pay attention to time, 3) Stay relevant, 4) Play emotional buttons, 5) Create notes easy to do.

Abstract:
Performance and exhibition venues are well-suited for implementing business models that leverage Internet-of-Things (IoT) concepts to integrate both online and offline information. The use of IoT technologies has led to the emergence of omni-channel services, providing customers with information from both online and offline channels. However, there is a lack of field research on the practical implications of IoT concepts in art exhibitions. An action research methodology is required to address this gap, and one potential solution is to implement an IoT-based omni-channel service that integrates online and offline channels to enhance service quality and provide a seamless customer experience. Near Field Communication (NFC), iBeacon, and Internet buttons can be used in an art gallery to achieve these objectives. This study utilized action research methods to examine the impact of customers’ technology interactions in an art gallery setting. The findings indicate that the inclusion of a physical interactive element has a positive effect on IoT use.

Abstract:
This paper presents Android-based SOS platform named SOSerbia for sending emergency messages by citizens in Serbia. The heart of the platform is SOS client Android application which is an easy and simple solution for sending SOS messages with unique combination of volume buttons. The proposed platform solves a lot of safety, security, and emergency problems for people who can be in dangerous situations. After a person presses a correct combination of buttons, a message with his or her location is sent to the operating center of the Serbian Police. The platform merges several appropriately combined advanced Android technologies into one complete solution. The proposed solution also uses the Google location API for getting user’s location and Media Player broadcast receiver for reading pressed buttons for volume. This logic can be also customized for any other mobile operating system. In other words, the proposed architecture can be also implemented in iOS or Windows OS. It should be noted that the proposed architecture is optimized for different mobile devices. It is also implemented with simple widget and background process based on location. The proposed platform is experimentally demonstrated as a part of emergency response center at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. This platform overcomes real-life problems that other state-of-the-art solutions introduce and can be applied and integrated easily in any national police and e-government systems.

Abstract:
BackgroundThe value of clinical items defining inflammatory back pain to identify patients with axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) in primary care is unclear.ObjectiveTo identify predictive clinical parameters for a diagnosis of axial SpA in patients with chronic back pain presenting in primary care.MethodsConsecutive patients aged <45 years (n=950) with back pain for >2 months who presented to orthopaedic surgeons (n=143) were randomised based on four key questions for referral to rheumatologists (n=36) for diagnosis.ResultsThe rheumatologists saw 322 representative patients (mean age 36 years, 50% female, median duration of back pain 30 months). 113 patients (35%) were diagnosed as axial SpA (62% HLA B27+), 47 (15%) as ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and 66 (21%) as axial non-radiographic SpA (nrSpA). Age at onset ≤35 years, improvement by exercise, improvement with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, waking up in the second half of the night and alternating buttock pain were identified as most relevant for diagnosing axial SpA by multiple regression analysis. Differences between AS and nrSpA were detected. No single item was predictive, but ≥3 items proved useful for good sensitivity and specificity by receiver operating characteristic modelling.ConclusionThis study shows that a preselection in primary care of patients with back pain based on a combination of clinical items is useful to facilitate the diagnosis of axial SpA.

Abstract:
This study examined the use of the term ‘Pan-Sensualism’ in the discourse on contemporary Indonesian new art and how this manifested itself in artworks created at the beginning of the Indonesian New Order era (1966-1998). Jim Supangkat was one of the artists and initiators in forming the artist group Gerakan Seni Rupa Baru Indonesia (Indonesian New Art Movement), which then organized the first Seni Rupa Baru 75 exhibition in 1975. Jim Supangkat presented six installation works with different narratives, but Ken Dedes was the only one that presented the dialectic of traditional and modern culture. The Prajnaparamita, or Ken Dedes statue is presented with a drawing of the body of a woman wearing jeans with the buttons open. In looking at the formal, social-historical, cultural, feministic, and other elements in the work of Ken Dedes (1975-1996), we used the iconographic research method. This method helps to see several aspects of Supangkat’s visual works related to the aesthetic paradigm of Pan-Sensualism and the intersection of two cultural elements, i.e., high and low art, which may be distinguished based on social class appreciation.

Abstract:
Background: Physical activity is an excellent form of prevention of modern diseases. The most popular form of physical activity chosen by women is group fitness activities. Women are most likely to focus on exercises for the lower parts of the body (thighs, buttocks, abdomen). In recent years, dance classes (e.g. Zumba) or exercises on mini trampolines have become very popular. Regular fitness training contributes to positive changes in the proportions and body composition. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to assess the proportions and body composition of a woman via a 3-month group fitness training program. Case report: The study involved a woman aged 26, participating in fitness classes three times a week for a period of three months. The woman participated in the following training cycle: twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) in the Jumping Frog interval training on a trampoline; twice a week (Monday and Friday) in ZUMBA® classes; and once a week (Wednesday) in ABT classes (abdomen, buttocks, thighs). Her height and weight, waist and hips circumference, and the thickness of three skinfolds (subscapular, triceps, abdominal) were measured. Body mass index (BMI) and waist to hip ratio (WHR) were calculated and body composition analysis (% of body fat, lean body mass) was performed. Two measurements were made: the first at the beginning of the training cycle, the second on completion. After three months of training, there were a decrease in body weight (2.2 kg), BMI (0.77 kg/m2), waist circumference (4 cm), hip circumference (2 cm), WHR (0.03), subscapular, abdominal and triceps skinfold (1 mm, 3 mm, 3 mm), body fat (2.6%) and perimeters, and an increase in lean body mass (1 kg). Conclusions: This study shows a positive effect of fitness training on body proportions and body composition.

Abstract:
Baby's skin tends to become easily irritated due to low humidity. Irritation can occur in babies due to environmental temperatures that are too cold so that the baby's skin easily dries out and becomes itchy. Diaper rash is an inflammatory condition of the skin on the baby's thighs and buttocks due to friction between the skin and diapers which generally contain the baby's feces and urine for a long time. Diaper rash has signs of swelling and reddish skin on the thighs and buttocks. To treat diaper rash, non-pharmacological therapy is needed, such as administering coconut oil or aloe vera, which are known to contain many properties such as proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and secondary metabolites which can act as antibacterials and antiseptics. The type of research chosen was quantitative with a pre-experimental design using the two group pretest-posttest method. The samples were babies aged at least 3 months and a maximum of 1 year who were known to have diaper rash which was determined using the purposive sampling method. The sample of babies consisted of 18 people, which would be divided into 9 people for the two types of interventions carried out. The instruments used are an observation sheet for the degree of diaper rash and SOP, where the results will be analyzed using univariate and bivariate. The results of the study showed that the administration of coconut oil and aloe vera could influence the diaper rash category, where there was a decrease in the mean score on the post-test of 3.22 and 3.11 respectively. The results of the sample paired t-test analysis show that the p-value is 0.000, which means there is a significant difference in the effect between giving coconut oil and aloe vera in accelerating the healing of diaper rash in babies.

This article tries to answer the question, “What is ‘digital’ about digital media?” Building on the concept of ludic seriality as proposed by Shane Denson and Andreas Jahn-Sudmann and taking as an example the popular mobile Game Flappy Bird, it discusses the serial character of gameplay, in particular the intra-ludic serialization of in-game and operator actions. The article argues that the principle of digitality relates to the fingers of the human hand and the corresponding cultural techniques, from the ancient art of finger-counting which brought forth the abstract number concept to our current every day use of buttons and keys to operate digital devices.

Abstract:
Th e present article comes to elucidate some particularities of the instrumental practice in the MSSR in the years 1970—1980, ensuring a continuity of the study “Constitution of the academic art of accordion in the Moldovan SSR during the years 1940—1960”. The seventh and eighth decades of the XX represent the consolidation stage of the interpretative art in our country, continuing to be determined by the evolution of the bayan / accordion schools in Eastern Europe (especially Russia, Ukraine, Belarus). Th e perpetuation of socialist values delimits two parallel evolutionary paths of the bayanistic / accordionistic instrumental practice in the republic. The intensive improvement of technical and expressive capabilities gives the multitimbral bayan with converter an absolute superiority from an organological, repertory, instructive-didactic, interpretive point of view, allowing it to occupy a visible position on the academic stage. Despite its marginalization, the multitimbral accordion with S.B. manages to assimilate to a certain extent the components of the chromatic harmonica with buttons (the repertoire, the instructional-didactic process, etc.) which were in an intense course of development. If the bayan largely “absorbs” the traditions of academic instrumental practice, then the accordion, being considered an instrument primarily predestined for popular music, conditions the evolutionary course of traditional interpretative art.

Abstract:
In automated chest X-ray screening (to detect pulmonary abnormality: Tuberculosis (TB), for instance), the presence of foreign element such as buttons and medical devices hinders its performance. In this paper, using digital chest radiographs, the authors present a new technique to detect circular foreign element, within the lung regions. They first compute edge map by using several different edge detection algorithms, which is followed by morphological operations for potential candidate selection. These candidates are then confirmed by using circular Hough transform (CHT). In their test, the authors have achieved precision, recall, and F1 score of 96%, 90%, and 92%, respectively with lung segmentation. Compared to state-of-the-art work, their technique excels performance in terms of both detection accuracy and computational time.

Abstract:
This article argues for a reconsideration of Gertrude Stein's influence on the development of Samuel Beckett's aesthetics of language, together with the overall comparability of their work. The article will demonstrate that when read through the context of Beckett's observations on Stein in the 1937 German letter, their respective approaches towards the same operation, namely the logographic representation of a word in other words, is highly comparable. The article forwards Stein's Tender Buttons as a text that can be considered highly compatible with Beckett's observations on Stein in the German letter and argues for a reconsideration of the avenues through which Beckett may have encountered Stein's work, specifically in relation to the magazine transition. The article subsequently compares Stein's representation of objects in Tender Buttons (published in transition 14), with excerpts from Beckett's Murphy and Watt, followed by an extended analysis of Ill Seen Ill Said.

Abstract Bachelor buttons grown in 6 inch clay pots at the Pesticide Research Center greenhouses on the MSU campus were used for this test. Each treatment was replicated 6 times with each replication consisting of a single plant. Marathon and Oxamyl were applied with a hand-held shaker according to the rate per pot on the label. Each pot received 100 ml of irrigation after treatment. The Dycarb was applied as a drench; 250 ml of solution to each pot. All other treatments were applied at a rate of 200 gal of spray solution per acre. Each pot received 3.5 ml of finished spray to the soil surface, followed with 100 ml of irrigation. All of the above treatments were applied on 16 Jun. Precounts were taken on 14 Jun and post spray evaluations were made on 23 Jun and 30 Jun. To monitor the larvae two 1/2 inch-diameter, 3/4 inch-long slices of potato were cut using a large cork borer and placed into the pots 1/2 inch deep in the soil. After 2 days the potato slices were removed along with about 0.7-1.0 g (1 ml) of soil from beneath the potato. The soil and potato slices were placed in a 2 oz plastic cup and brought back to the lab where 20% ethanol extractions were performed using a Buchner funnel. Live larvae were counted under a dissecting microscope, both from the potato and the soil.

Abstract:
The study deals with an aspect not considered until now in relation to the Waldes Museum of Buttons and Fasteners, existing in Prague-Vršovice between 1916 and 1945, founded at the initiative of Prague industrialist, collector, and patron of the arts Jindřich Waldes. Alongside Waldes, the other key figure was art historian, conservationist and museum curator Jan Ješek Hofman, whose work between 1916 and 1919 in many ways achieved the plan to build a collection and research institution. What was behind this outwardly-representative, functioning private institution and how did the relationship between Waldes, an enthusiastic and affluent private collector, and Hofman, the expert tasked with putting his ideas in place at a professional level, actually evolve? The study aims to present an interpretation of the relationship by analysing preserved archival materials and period publications. It also represents the Waldes Museum as a remarkable museum experiment.

Abstract:
This work proposes an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device for remote elevator control. The new contribution of this proposal to the state-of-the-art is that it can convert a manually operated elevator into a remote controlled elevator without requiring any intrusive manipulation or wiring connection in the elevator. This IoT device has been designed as an add-on non-contact tool which is placed over the original elevator button panel, using servomotors to press the original buttons. This design allows its fast deployment as a remote control tool that increases elevator accessibility through the use of messages, a webpage or a QR code. Some application examples of this proposal are non-contact use of elevators in pandemic conditions, and the unsupervised use of elevators by autonomous cleaning or delivery mobile robots. The experimental evaluation of the IoT device in real operational conditions has validated its non-contact control features.

Abstract:
We studied the algorithms of button defect detection, while metal button defect detection is seldom explored in the literature. In this paper, we propose to effectively improve the detecting speed, accuracy, and robustness of the model. We propose a new method of cascading Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) and Sparse Representation Classification (SRC). This method transforms the defect detection problem into a pattern classification problem. First, we preprocess the input button images via eliminating reflection, edges extraction, and dimensionality reduction. ELM has a faster learning speed and better detecting accuracy than the single layer perceptron and support layer machine. ELM was utilized to estimate the probability of the defective buttons, with parameters obtained from the five-fold cross-validation method. SRC was used to reclassify those button images with high noise. Our method improved the detection accuracy, as well as guaranteed the detecting speed. We showed state-of-the-art performance in comparison to other approaches.

Abstract:
Using buttons and beads sewn on wool and calico, Northwest Coast First Nations women fashion the robes and aprons essential to ongoing expressions of inherited prerogatives and rights. Each piece of regalia is carefully crafted to include signifying materials and motifs, telling of the origins or relations of their owners. These creations exist as part of a holistic system that integrates material artworks within ceremony, including song, dance, and oratory, which in turn uphold the laws expressed through potlatching. Shifting scholarly focus from Northwest Coast carving traditions, this paper recenters textile arts within a holistic, culturally focused context while addressing issues of gender, the effects of colonial practices, and the damage wrought by salvage anthropology as it fragmented cultural information across archives. Women’s artistic productions embody long-held technical and aesthetic knowledge connected to oral histories and cultural practices. Restoring Indigenous perspectives connecting tangible and intangible cultural heritage counterbalances the aesthetic emphasis that has dominated Northwest Coast art history.

Abstract:
Background: Chocolate is one of the most frequently craved foods, and it often challenges self-regulation. These cravings may be underpinned by a neural facilitation of approach behavior toward chocolate. This preregistered study investigated the behavioral and neural correlates of such a bias using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and reaction times (RTs). Methods: A total of n = 30 frequent chocolate eaters performed a relevant-feature approach–avoidance task (AAT) in the MRI scanner using buttons to enlarge (approach) or to shrink (avoid) pictures of chocolate and inedible control objects. We tested (a) whether implicit RT-based approach biases could be measured in a supine position in the scanner, (b) whether those biases were associated with activity in reward-related brain regions such as the insula, amygdala, striatum, and orbitofrontal cortex (OFC), and (c) whether individual RT-based bias-scores correlated with measures of chocolate craving. Results: Behaviorally, we found a highly reliable approach bias toward chocolate, defined by faster RTs in the compatible conditions (approach chocolate, avoid objects) compared to the incompatible conditions (avoid chocolate, approach objects). Neurally, this compatibility effect involved activity in the left medial OFC, a neural response that was positively correlated with individual approach bias scores. Conclusions: This study shows that the relevant feature AAT can be implemented in an fMRI setting in a supine position using buttons. An approach bias toward chocolate seems related to medial OFC activation that might serve to devalue chocolate when it has to be avoided. Our demonstration of neural and behavioral approach biases for chocolate underscores the need for stimulus-specific cognitive trainings to support healthy consumption and successful self-regulation.

Abstract:
The dynamic responses of the seated body exposed to vertical vibration are investigated at the two driving-points, formed by the upper body-backrest and buttock-pan interfaces in terms of force-motion relationships. The dynamic interactions of the seated body are characterized in the laboratory in terms of apparent masses at the two driving-points under white noise and track-measured random vertical vibration in the 0.5-40 Hz frequency range. The experiments were performed with 24 adult subjects seated on an idealized rigid seat, representing an automotive seat geometry. The vertical and fore-aft forces at the body-pan and body-backrest interfaces were measured to determine the apparent mass responses at the two driving-points. The results clearly revealed significant dynamic interactions of the upper body with the back support. The results also showed considerable influences of the vibration magnitude, body mass and the subjects’ hands position on the measured biodynamic responses.
