Full textPolymera nanokompositer är lovande material för användning som dielektriskt material inom högspänningsområdet. I detta arbete studeras nanokompositer framställda av två olika sampolymerer av eten och butylakrylat (EBA-13 med 13 vikt% butylakrylat samt EBA-28 med 28 vikt% och två olika typer av nanopartiklar av Al2O3. Nanopartiklarna användes antingen som obehandlade eller efter silanisering med aminopropyltrietoxysilan- eller oktyltrietoxysilan. Den bästa partikeldispergeringen observerades för de material som baserats på EBA-13 medan den låga smältviskositeten hos EBA-28 resulterade i låga skjuvkrafter under kompounderingen och en observerat ojämn dispergering och förekomst av mikrometerstora agglomerat. Partiklar som silaniserats med oktyltrietoxysilan var lättast att dispergera. Nanopartiklarna fungerade som kärnbildare i EBA-28 vilket medförde en höjning av kristallisationstemperaturen. Vattensorptionsstudier demonstrerade dels effekten av den stora specifika gränsytan mellan partikel och matris och dels av förekomst av polära grupper lokaliserade till nämnda gränsyta. Kompositer med väldispergerade partiklar uppvisade en enkel Ficksk sorptionsprocess medan de material som innehöll en betydande mängd stora agglomerat påvisade en tvådelad process. Den första processen var kopplad till mättningen av polymermatrisen och den andra kunde länkas till vattenupptaget i de stora agglomeraten. Vidare undersöktes långtidsegenskaperna hos nanokompositerna, samt om det fanns någon växelverkan mellan nanopartiklar och en fenolbaserade antioxidant (Irganox 1010). DSC användes för att bestämma induktionstiden för oxidation (OIT) vilket är ett mått på koncentrationen av aktiv fenolisk antioxidant. Det framgick det att Irganox 1010 adsorberades på nanopartiklarna, vilket ledde till en minskning av OIT. Det framgick även att de material som innehöll silaniserade nanopartiklar hade högre OIT jämfört material med obehandlade partiklar. Antioxidanten var däremot inte irreversibelt bunden till nanopartiklarna, utan frigjordes från deras ytor och blev aktiv under åldringen.

In order to improve the processability and mechanical properties of conducting polymers, a new type of starburst copolymer containing poly(n-butyl acrylate) as core and conjugated thiophene derivatives segments as shell was synthesized. Firstly, 12-armed starburst poly(n-butyl acrylate) (12-PBA) was prepared by the atom transfer radical polymerization method using { 2,2'',2'',2'',2'',2''-(2,2'',2''-(4,4'',4''-(ethane-1,1 ,1-triyl)tris(benzene-4,1-diyl))tris(oxy)tris(oxomethylene)tris(2-methylpropane-3,2,1-triyl))hexakis(oxy)hexakis(oxomethylene)hexakis(2-methylpropane-3,2,1-triyl)dodecakis(2-bromo-2-methylpropanoate), 12-armed ATRP initator } as initator. Then, the end groups of 12-PBA were modified to generate thiophene derivatives-caped starburst 12-PBA-M1 and 12-PBA-M2. The chemical structure and molecular weight characterization of these copolymers were studied by UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, FT-IR, DLS and GPC techniques. Finally, electrically conductive thin films were fabricated via the solid-state oxidative cross-linking method using FeCl3 as oxidant and their optoelectronic properties were investigated by UV-Vis, PL and four-point probe. The thus-produced conductive film exhibited excellent flexibility, good adhesion to glass substrate and low conductivity percolation threshold.

The first step of this research was to fabricate poly(butyl acrylate) (PBA), poly (butyl acrylatet-co-acrylic acid) (P (BA-co-AA)) and poly (butyl acrylatet-co-maleic anhydride) (P(BA-co-ma)) latices by soap-free emulsion polymerization, and to fabricate their Montmorillonite (MMT) composite and multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composite latices by using the same method. TEM, NMR, TGA and DSC were employed to investigate their morphology, chemical structures and thermal properties. After manufacturing the above latices, they were used to gel the LiI / I2 / TBP electrolyte systems in liquid propionitrile for preparation of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Then, we investigated the effects of gel-type electrolytes on the performance of DSSCs in order to find suitable gelatinizing materials for higher performance and longer durability. The conductivity of gel-type electrolytes could be estimated by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results showed that P(BA-co-AA) and P(BA-co-ma) gel-type electrolyte system had higher conductivity and ionic diffusion rate than PBA gel-type electrolyte system. In terms of the performances of devices, the best photon-to electron power conversion efficiency of PBA-gelled electrolyte system was 5.46% and that of P(BA-co-AA) and P (BA-co-ma) gelled electrolyte system was 7.88%. The higher efficiency of DSSCs with P(BA-co-AA) and P(BA-co-ma) gelled electrolyte system might be due to the higher dipole moment of gelatinizing polymers. Compared to the copolymer-gelled electrolytes, their MMT and MWCNT composite-gelled electrolytes had better power efficiency and higher open-circuit photovoltage. In the durability test of the gel-type DSSCs, we found that the DSSCs with MMT/P(BA-co-ma) and MWCNT/P(BA-co-ma)-gelled electrolyte systems were able to remain 60% of the-first-day efficiency after thirty day test, and that with P(BA-co-ma)-gelled electrolyte system had efficiency drop to nil after eight day test. Apparently, incorporation of MMT or MWCNT to the copolymer-gelled electrolytes was able to prolong the survice life of DSSCs.
