Abstract:

The art of Buraq is a procession of puppet which has beautiful female face with winged-horse body and dance to the music of Genjring and tambourine. This traditional art is one of the dominant arts that becomes one cultural identity of the people in Brebes District, located in the west of the northern coast of Java island, Central Java Province. This study aims to study the aesthetic form, function and symbolic values of Buroq, as well as the system of relationship patterns among actors, Buroq puppets, and the audience. The result of the research shows that the rise of Buroq art stems from the Isra-Miraj trip of Prophet Muhammad by using the vehicle named Buroq. It is narrated that Buraq is like a winged-horse with a beautiful woman face who can move with lightning speed as a vehicle in the Isra-Miraj journey of the Prophet Muhammad. This story is the primary source of inspiration for local artists to express aesthetic-symbolic in accordance with the imagination they possess in the form of acculturation that combines elements of Javanese, Chinese, and Islamic cultural symbols. As Islamic-based traditional arts of community, Buroq with all the uniqueness of its physical form not only has functions and values in the grandeur of Islam which awakens and strengthens the cultural awareness among residents to act and behave in accordance with the teaching of Islam in coastal Javanese Islamic culture but also has the functionality and entertainment value for the multicultural community.

Abstract:

Marine mammals are a diverse group, including 130 species. These animals have acquired, through evolution, traits that allow them to live at sea. One of the most striking features of marine mammals is that, although they have lungs, they can dive to great depths while holding their breath for extended periods. Diving allows them to meet basic needs such as feeding, mating, and can provide protection from predators. The duration and depth of the dives is associated to physiological adaptations, including increased hemoglobin and myoglobin reserves, and antioxidant defenses, that can be influenced by the size of each species. For example, sea otters can reach depths of less than 20 m, while larger marine mammals such as the sperm whale can descend up to 3000 m. This paper presents the general characteristics of marine mammals and briefly describes the morphological and physiological adaptations that allow them to dive without suffering the consequences of oxidative stress.

Abstract:

Objetivos Identificar las causas de accidentes y enfermedades profesionales de buzos mariscadores en las caletas de Coquimbo, Los Vilos y Tongoy en la región de Coquimbo (Chile), en el periodo 2008-2018.Métodos Se aplicó una encuesta de 44 preguntas para determinar las causas o factores que influyen en los accidentes y enfermedades profesionales de los buzos mariscadores en la región. Se recopiló información, experiencias y observaciones de los protagonistas. Para su análisis se utilizaron la tabla de doble entradas, los estadísticos de asociación X2 y C de contingencia.Resultados De las 52 encuestas realizadas, 28 buzos mariscadores han tenido accidentes y enfermedades profesionales (53%). El segmento que no completa la enseñanza básica concentra el 46% de los accidentes. También muestra incidencia, la profundidad a la cual se realiza el buceo, el consumo de alcohol y tabaco, el no uso de las tablas de descompresión y el no haber recibido capacitación.Conclusiones Los tipos de accidente o enfermedades profesionales asociadas de mayor incidencia son el síndrome de descompresión y la asfixia. Ambos casos presentan una alta asociación con el consumo de alcohol y el no uso de las tablas de descomprensión.

Abstract:

El objetivo de esta investigación ha sido analizar la esclusa de émbolo buzo diseñada por Agustín de Betancourt y Molina en 1807. Para ello, se ha realizado un estudio de ingeniería asistida por ordenador, concretamente un análisis estático por elementos finitos basado en el modelo tridimensional obtenido con técnicas de diseño asistido por ordenador mediante el software paramétrico Autodesk Inventor Professional, a partir de la planimetría original del expediente. Los resultados muestran que la posición más desfavorable ocurre cuando el émbolo buzo está completamente levantado, sobrepasándose los límites de elasticidad de los materiales. Por tanto, la conclusión principal es que la esclusa está mal dimensionada, aunque esto se debe a que las láminas sólo tenían un valor funcional o descriptivo, no habiendo sido llevada nunca a la práctica dicha esclusa. Sin embargo, el ingeniero español diseña un novedoso sistema de equilibrio émbolo buzo-contrapeso.

The ACO algorithm, inspired by ant behavior, is used to optimize codebooks in speech processing. This study focuses on compressing speech signals efficiently to reduce bandwidth usage. Vector Quantization, a block coding technique, is employed, utilizing codebooks generated by the Linde-Buzo-Gray (LBG) algorithm. The ACO algorithm is proposed as an optimization method for these codebooks, aiming to minimize spectral distortion. Results show that ACO-optimized codebooks reduce spectral distortion. Abstract:

La pesca ribereña es una actividad compleja por los múltiples actores sociales que en ella confluyen y por los factores que la mantienen en una condición de incertidumbre. Sin embargo, cada vez se documentan más casos en los que la puesta en marcha de diversos procesos de innovación social, tales como los organizativos y los institucionales, contribuyen con el fortalecimiento de los sistemas de manejo pesquero. Este artículo tiene dos objetivos centrales: a) visibilizar y constatar la importancia de los procesos de innovación social, generados desde abajo (bottom-up), a partir del conocimiento ecológico tradicional de pescadores y buzos, y b) contribuir al análisis de estos procesos desde un marco teórico-analítico que pone énfasis en la dimensión social y cultural del manejo pesquero. El análisis se desarrolló desde la perspectiva de Sistema social-ecológico y la innovación social, enfatizando la dimensión cultural desde una metodología cualitativa y específicamente desde el método etnográfico. Se encontró que el conocimiento ecológico tradicional pesquero y el desarrollo institucional consuetudinario, tienen un peso fundamental en la creación, consolidación y replicación de un sistema de innovación social (el trasplante de erizo) en la pesquería comercial del erizo rojo. Este análisis es relevante porque enfatiza el aporte que los pescadores y buzos organizados tienen en el manejo de sus pesquerías. Se concluye que este proceso de innovación social desde los pescadores y buzos, contribuye a la sustentabilidad pesquera regional.

Abstract:

La presente nota describe la etimología, acepciones y usos del lusismo léxico buzo en la historia de la lengua española, poniendo énfasis en el español de México. El origen del vocablo se sustenta en un estudio lexicográfico en la lengua española y portuguesa, así como en una propuesta de evolución interna. A través de corpus diacrónicos y diccionarios de la lengua española se documentan los primeros registros de buzo, sus diferentes acepciones y contextos de uso en la historia del español. Por último, se ofrece una síntesis de las diferentes etapas de transferencia de dicho préstamo léxico, particularmente, lo que ha acontecido en el español mexicano contemporáneo.

Abstract:

En 1998 y 1999 revisé las colonias de aves acuáticas que anidan en Isla San Jorge, La Purinera e Isla Montague, en el norte del Golfo de California, al igual que la de lobos marinos de la Isla San Jorge. Encontré que El Niño coincidió con que los bobos cafés de San Jorge dejaran de anidar y se ausentaran de la isla, al tiempo que llegaban varios miles de bobos de patas azules. Las condiciones de El Niño coincidieron con un incremento en el número de individuos anidantes de gallitos menor, elegante y máximo y de rayadores, en Montague. Ni los patos buzo orejones en San Jorge, ni los gallitos menores en La Purinera, ni las garzas níveas, perros de agua , gaviotas risueñas, ni gallitos picogrueso, en Montague, parecen haber sido afectados. Los lobos marinos en San Jorge duplicaron aproximadamente su población, sin que esto repercutiera sobre la producción de crías. La Niña coincidió con un regreso de las poblaciones de las especies anteriores a las condiciones previas a El Niño. Además, durante 1999 en San Jorge anidaron gaviotas plomas y patos buzo de Brandt. Esa gaviota había dejado de anidar hacía mucho tiempo en San Jorge, y el pato buzo nunca se había registrado anidando ahí. El caso de los buzos Miskitos (Lemoth Morris y otros) vs. Honduras examina la responsabilidad internacional del Estado en la violación de varios derechos de 42 trabajadores del buceo de origen indígena y de sus familiares. Derechos tales como el derecho del niño, a la salud, a la integridad personal y a la vida, en relación con la práctica de empresas privadas en actividades peligrosas dentro de su territorio o jurisdicción. En noviembre de 2004, diversas organizaciones de la sociedad civil presentaron una petición individual ante la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (en adelante, CIDH). Sin embargo, las partes llegaron a un Acuerdo de Solución Amistosa en el que el Estado asumió su responsabilidad internacional por las violaciones alegadas. A petición de los representantes de las víctimas y de la CIDH, la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos decidió emitir la sentencia para homologar dicho acuerdo y desarrollar jurisprudencia sobre el tema, como fue solicitado por las partes. La Corte, basándose en los Principios Rectores sobre las Empresas y los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas, establece que los Estados parte de la Convención Americana deben adoptar medidas dirigidas a garantizar que las empresas eviten violaciones a los derechos humanos. La Corte subrayó que los Estados no solo deben regular, sino también monitorear y hacer cumplir efectivamente la normativa del derecho interno para prevenir consecuencias negativas en el ámbito de los derechos humanos, ya que la responsabilidad del Estado va más allá de la promulgación de leyes; también debe asegurarse de que dichas leyes se implementen adecuadamente, así como investigar, sancionar y reparar las vulneraciones a los derechos humanos a través de mecanismos efectivos.

Abstract:

Vector Quantization (VQ) is a technique with a wide range of applications. For example, it can be used for image compression. The codebook design for VQ has great significance in the quality of the quantized signals and can benefit from the use of swarm intelligence. Initialization of the Linde–Buzo–Gray (LBG) algorithm, which is the most popular VQ codebook design algorithm, is a step that directly influences VQ performance, as the convergence speed and codebook quality depend on the initial codebook. A widely used initialization alternative is random initialization, in which the initial set of codevectors is drawn randomly from the training set. Other initialization methods can lead to a better quality of the designed codebooks. The present work evaluates the impacts of initialization strategies on swarm intelligence algorithms for codebook design in terms of the quality of the designed codebooks, assessed by the quality of the reconstructed images, and in terms of the convergence speed, evaluated by the number of iterations. Initialization strategies consist of a combination of codebooks obtained by initialization algorithms from the literature with codebooks composed of vectors randomly selected from the training set. The possibility of combining different initialization techniques provides new perspectives in the search for the quality of the VQ codebooks. Nine initialization strategies are presented, which are compared with random initialization. Initialization strategies are evaluated on the following algorithms for codebook design based on swarm clustering: modified firefly algorithm—Linde–Buzo–Gray (M-FA-LBG), modified particle swarm optimization—Linde–Buzo–Gray (M-PSO-LBG), modified fish school search—Linde–Buzo–Gray (M-FSS-LBG) and their accelerated versions (M-FA-LBGa, M-PSO-LBGa and M-FSS-LBGa) which are obtained by replacing the LBG with the accelerated LBG algorithm. The simulation results point out to the benefits of the proposed initialization strategies. The results show gains up to 4.43 dB in terms of PSNR for image Clock with M-PSO-LBG codebooks of size 512 and codebook design time savings up to 67.05% for image Clock, with M-FF-LBGa codebooks with size N=512, by using initialization strategies in substitution to Random initialization.

Las prácticas productivas de los pescadores artesanales portan habilidades y conocimientos cuyas combinaciones singularizan, desde su diferencia, las nociones de innovación y tecnología implícitas en las perspectivas del desarrollo. Algunas situaciones prácticas donde coexisten conocimientos locales y científicos informan lo anterior desde su participación en la construcción sociocultural del ambiente local. El presente trabajo describe tres situaciones en el sector de Guabún, zona noroccidental de la Isla de Chiloé; i) La técnica para subir desde el fondo del mar a la superficie por los buzos mariscadores de Luga (Gigartina skottsbergii), ii) Las prácticas en un Área de Manejo y Explotación de Recursos Bentónicos (AMERB) de la especie Loco (Concholepas concholepas) y iii) La extracción de Algas por recolectoras y buzos mariscadores habitantes del lugar. Al considerar simétricamente estos tipos de conocimientos, la innovación local puede revisarse a la luz de la experiencia compleja de cada ambiente local. Se apuesta con ello a reconsiderar las singularidades socio productivas de las caletas de pescadores como expresiones de la capacidad creativa de sus habitantes y a su potencialidad como posibilidad de alternativas de nuevo conocimiento para el desarrollo territorial de sociedades vinculadas a ecosistemas locales.

For constructing the best local codebook for image compression, there are many Vector Quantization (VQ) procedures, but the simplest VQ procedure is the Linde–Buzo–Gray (LBG) procedure. Techniques such as the Gaussian Dissemination Function (GDF) are used for the searching process in generating a global codebook for particle swarm optimization (PSO), Honeybee mating optimization (HBMO), and Firefly (FA) procedures. However, when particle velocity is very high, FA encounters a problem when brighter fireflies are trivial, and PSO suffers uncertainty in merging. A novel procedure, Cuckoo Search–Kekre Fast Codebook Generation (CS-KFCG), is proposed that enhances Cuckoo Search–Linde–Buzo–Gray (CS-LBG) codebook by implementing a Flight Dissemination Function (FDF), which produces more speed than other states of the art algorithms with appropriate mutation expectations for the overall codebook. Also, CS-KFGC has generated a high Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) in terms of high duration (time) and better acceptability rate.

Abstract:

The article examines the concept and meaning of the crime of shameless behavior against a person under the age of sixteen, issues of responsibility for this type of crime, improvement of responsibility in the criminal legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In addition, in this article, the corpus delict is a specific instance of a crime, which contains all the elements of a crime, and the presence of this feature in a socially dangerous act committed by a person is the basis for committing a crime. It is emphasized that any act of a sexual nature is considered obscene. Such actions are aimed at satisfying the sexual desires of the perpetrator or arousing the sexual feelings of a minor. Physical indecent behavior includes exposing the genitals of the perpetrator or victim, shamelessly touching the genitals in a manner that may induce sexual feelings, learning about sexual misconduct by simulating a sexual situation, arousing or coercing a person into certain sexual activities, having sex or masturbating in front of victims.

Abstract:

This article proposes an intelligent monitoring system for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, which determines spec-in or spec-out for a wafer in process, using Internet of Things–based big data analysis. The proposed system consists of three phases: initialization, learning, and prediction in real time. The initialization sets the weights and the effective steps for all parameters of equipment to be monitored. The learning performs a clustering to assign similar patterns to the same class. The patterns consist of a multiple time-series produced by semiconductor manufacturing equipment and an after clean inspection measured by the corresponding tester. We modify the Line, Buzo, and Gray algorithm for classifying the time-series patterns. The modified Line, Buzo, and Gray algorithm outputs a reference model for every cluster. The prediction compares a time-series entered in real time with the reference model using statistical dynamic time warping to find the best matched pattern and then calculates a predicted after clean inspection by combining the measured after clean inspection, the dissimilarity, and the weights. Finally, it determines spec-in or spec-out for the wafer. We will present experimental results that show how the proposed system is applied on the data acquired from semiconductor etching equipment.

Abstract:

The name Quercus protoroburoides is validated. It was assigned to a new science representative of the genus Quercus discovered in 1968 by Dipl. Eng. B. Buzov in the valley of river Rilska on the territory of the Rila Mountains, Bulgaria. the taxon was originally named Quercus macranthera subsp. balcanica and subsequently renamed to Quercus protoroburoides. However, it has never been described according to the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants and, owing to this, the name is invalid and has never been included in any Flora or Key. It differs significantly from the already known members of this genus in Bulgaria and Europe. Information on this taxon will fill a gap in the knowledge of the taxonomic diversity in Quercus.

El año 2016 el Sindicato de Trabajadores Independientes, Pescadores Artesanales, Buzos Mariscadores y Ramos Similares de Caleta Horcón presentaron una demanda por reparación de daño ambiental contra 14 empresas del Complejo Industrial Ventanas y el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente. Como parte fundamental de esta demanda se requería, como punto de prueba, el demostrar que existe una relación causal entre la presencia del Complejo Industrial Ventanas y daño a la salud de las poblaciones adyacentes. En este contexto se me solicitó participar como testigo en la causa por parte de los demandantes. El escrito que se acompaña plasma las reflexiones con respecto este punto central de la deman- da, acompañado de un cuerpo importante de la evidencia de contaminación y efectos en salud en la zona.
