Abstract:
Protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs) are expected to gain significant advantage from the use of Co-free cathodes. This shift can lead to reduced manufacturing costs and enhance durability performance. In our previous study, the investigation compared the power generation characteristics of PCFCs with BaZr0.8Yb0.2O3-δ (BZYb) electrolytes utilizing cathodes composed of La0.6Sr0.4FeO3-δ (LSF) as a Co-free cathode material and La0.6Sr0.4CoO3-δ (LSC) or La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF) as Co-containing cathode materials composited with BZYb. Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cell (PCFC) is expected to be the next-generation fuel cell due to its higher energy conversion efficiency. We evaluated the electric efficiency using a Φ60mm anode supported BZYb cell and a newly designed jig. The Φ60mm BZYb cell performed almost as well as the Φ20mm cell, and the maximum power reached 7 W at 12.9 A at 600ºC. In addition, we obtained the cell performance of 0.3 A cm–2 current density under various Uf (fuel utilization) condition. We demonstrated that a BZYb based PCFC could be operated at a high Uf condition (i.e., Uf = 90%), and the maximum electric eff

In protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs), the use of cobalt-free cathodes is expected to reduce manufacturing costs and improve durability performance. However, cobalt-free cathodes generally tend to have poor power generation performance due to their lower catalytic activity than cobalt-containing cathodes. Therefore, based on a previous study in which higher power generation performance was obtained with SOFCs using La0.65Ca0.35FeO3−δ (LCaF) than with SOFCs using La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF) containing cobalt, we focused on LCaF as a cobalt-free cathode. Protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs) are expected to be a highly efficient next-generation fuel cell because the fuel is not diluted by the generated water vapor during power generation. In the past research, we have found that Yb-doped BaZrO3 (BZYb) is promising in terms of the durability against CO2, proton conductivity, and less reactivity with NiO used for the fuel electrode. We are currently developing improvement of power generation efficiency and durability of PCFCs using BZYb electrolyte. In terms of the durability of PCFCs, there is concern about degradation due to diffusion of transit

The article is devoted to the confrontation between the Soviet and German troops on the passes of the Bzyb Range in August – September 1942. As is known, by this time the Wehrmacht forces had suffered serious de-feats from the Soviet armed forces near Moscow, Rostov, and Tikhvin. The confrontation took a protracted character, so, planning the summer campaign of 1942, the German command decided to seize the most im-portant economic areas in the south of the USSR. The battle for the Caucasus included both the capture of the region’s passes and access to the Black Sea. It was precisely such fight

The durability of protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFC) using Yb-doped BaZrO3 (BZYb) as electrolyte was investigated by 1000 h power generation tests and EPMA analysis of Co from cathode and Ni from anode. In the cell with the buffer layer, the degradation of polarization resistance was suppressed in 1000 h power generation test. Abstract The Ticha Project is a digital endeavor focused on knowledge repatriation and language reclamation, guided by a Zapotec agenda that centers Zapotec goals and authority. This decolonial practice forges a collaborative, reciprocal scholarship where Zapotec and non-Native experts work together in pursuit of overlapping goals, forming an interdisciplinary community which resists the individualism of academia and draws strength from an inclusive Zapotec collective.
