Abstract:

No estudo da osteointegração, os resultados adquiridos através dos softwares analisadores de imagens contribuirão para que se tenha uma melhor visualização da interface tecido biológico/material implantado. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar, por meio de estudos histológico, morfométrico e densitométrico, as interfaces tecido ósseo/materiais implantados em comparação com o grupo controle (coágulo), descrevendo qualitativa e quantitativamente os resultados dessas análises. Foram selecionados 16 coelhos, Oryctolagus cuniculus, com idade de 90 dias, sendo estes divididos em quatro grupos de quatro animais (G1, G2, G3 e G4), com períodos pós-operatórios de sete, 15, 21 e 35 dias. Em cada animal, foram feitos dois defeitos ósseos nas tíbias direitas, preenchidos com o biomaterial Composto Ósseo de Ricinus (C.O.R.) granulado e o Grupo Controle (coágulo); na tíbia esquerda, preencheu-se com o biomaterial Hidroxiapatita (HAP-91). Após a eutanásia, as peças cirúrgicas foram removidas, identificadas e submetidas às análises. A análise histológica evidenciou, para os dois biomateriais, um grande aporte de células osteoprogenitoras e, com o avanço dos períodos experimentais, a deposição de um tecido ósseo mais desenvolvido. Estes resultados qualitativos corroboraram com a análise morfométrica, evidenciando a osteointegração pela aproximação das corticais ósseas. Com o estudo densitométrico, pôde-se acompanhar, por imagens tridimensionais e coloridas, o desempenho de cada biomaterial implantado e o grupo controle com o tecido ósseo. Concluiu-se que os dois biomateriais implantados se comportam de uma maneira muito desejável para que se constituam como uma escolha de materiais substitutos da reposição óssea.
In the study of osseointegration, the results acquired through the images analysis softwares, contribute in order to have a better view of the biological tissue/ material implanted interface. The aim of this study was to evaluate through studies: histological, morphometric and densitometric, the interactions of bone tissue / implanted materials in comparison with the control group (clot), and describing qualitatively and quantitatively the results of these analyzes. Were selected 16 rabbits, Oryctolagus cuniculus, with 90 days of age and divided into four groups of four animals (G1, G2, G3 and G4), and postoperative periods of seven, 15, 21 and 35 days. In each animal, two bone defects were made on the right tibia, and were filled with the (C.O.R.) Compound Bone of granulated Ricinus biomaterial and control group (clot); and in the left tibia, filled it with (HAP-91) Hydroxyapatite biomaterial. After euthanasia, the tibial bone was removed, identified and submitted for analyzes. The histological analysis showed for both biomaterials, a large amount of osteoprogenitor cells and, with the advancement of the experimental periods, the deposition of more developed bone tissue. These qualitative results corroborated with the morphometric analysis, showing the osseointegration by approximation of the cortical bones. With the densitometric study, could be accompanied, by three-dimensional images and colorful, the performance of each implanted biomaterial and the control group with the bone tissue. It was concluded that both implanted biomaterials behave in a manner very desirable to be constituted as a choice of substitute materials for the bone replacement.

Abstract:

Policing in Britain has been built around the notion of prevention. That is to say that the preventative function of British policing has traditionally been put to the forefront of discourse concerning formal or state social control. The eventual formation in 1829 of a centrally controlled police force was founded upon the ethos of prevention, and this in turn led to the uniformed 'Bobby' emerging as the focus of subsequent concern. A covert police presence, while unsupportable within the philosophical parameters of prevention, proved, in the context of the intensification of formal control to be necessary, and the detective began to operate within the expanding network of state control agencies. The ambiguity of detective work led to its partial detachment from the aims, functions and bureaucratic control of the uniform branch who remain to this day in the vanguard as a symbol of policing, and are manifested as exemplars of legitimate, normative policing practice. The style of British detective work has parallels with that found in the cultural milieu of East London. The areas deviant identity and economically determined traditions that stress autonomous action and entrepreneurial ability, have been compounded by market forces, and should be regarded as responses to the strictures and oppressions of both pre-capitalist and capitalist market economies. These responses are unique in the form of cultural style, and find favour amongst detectives of the Metropolitan Police, who, despite their formal function as thief-takers, appropriate and acquire certain of the more tangible manifestations of East End style for their own use. This thesis is concerned with the evolution of policing in Britain and in particular with the nature of police agencies, their consequent operational styles, and the genesis of their respective occupational cultures. The crucial source of one particular policing style, and its subsequent effect upon the occupational culture is considered at some length and primary and secondary historical documents, formal and informal interviews and participant observation techniques are utilised to this end. The contemporary realities of both the CID and East End cultures are considered and paralleled within an informal historical frame that has been structured by both formal and informal responses to the transient rigours of the market place. Consequently, this thesis is concerned with buying and selling on either side, across and under the legal counter. Before introducing the historical data of chapters one to five, and the original data introduced in chapters six to ten, it may be prudent to provide some discussion of the methodology that I have employed.

Abstract:

O objectivo principal deste trabalho relaciona-se com a compreensão dos mecanismos de formação de H2S e HCl durante a co-gasificação de C.D.R com carvão. A presença de material inorgânico nas cinzas dos combustíveis utilizados poderá ter alguma influência na formação e subsequentes reacções de H2S e HCl, tornando-se importante compreender qual a extensão da influência destes materiais na formação destas espécies, encaradas como contaminantes do gás produzido. A utilização de misturas de C.D.R. com carvão em gasificação poderá contribuir para a redução das quantidades de resíduos depositadas em aterro. Sendo a gasificação um processo menos poluente do que a incineração, a gasificação destes materiais poderá traduzir-se num menor impacto ambiental. Os C.D.R. são materiais heterogéneos e portanto as quantidades de S, Cl e material inorgânico poderão variar tornando relevante o estudo de potenciais sinergias entre os C.D.R. e o carvão com o objectivo de 1) minimizar a emissão de poluentes gasosos, 2) minimizar a quantidade de cinza produzida e 3) aproveitar o material inorgânico, que pode desempenhar actividade catalítica conduzindo à redução da formação de H2S e HCl. Com este estudo foi determinada uma aparente relação linear entre os teores de enxofre nos combustíveis e a formação de H2S, sendo que no entanto a forma sob a qual o enxofre se encontra nos combustíveis poderá desempenhar um importante papel na conversão do enxofre em H2S. No caso do HCl, a referida relação não pareceu ser tão clara. Foi igualmente determinado que maiores temperaturas de operação promovem a formação de H2S, ao mesmo tempo que reduzem a formação de HCl, e que enquanto o aumento da quantidade de oxigénio poderá conduzir à redução da formação de H2S, não terá impacto significativo na formação de HCl. No que diz respeito aos metais foi verificado que Ca, Fe e Zn terão um papel importante na redução da formação de H2S e HCl, enquanto que K e Na terão apenas influência na formação de HCl e o Al e a Si, não afectaram nem a formação de H2S nem a de HCl.

Abstract:

La presente investigación tiene como fin utilizar residuos agroindustriales en conjunto con Cal, para estabilizar la subrasante pobre de una carretera no pavimentada. Se estudió la influencia de la Ceniza de Bagazo de Caña de Azúcar (CBCA) en conjunto con la Cal para la mejora de las propiedades mecánicas de un suelo arcilloso de baja plasticidad y perteneciente al subgrupo A-6 (8), según AASHTO. Los ensayos que se realizaron fueron, la compactación AASHTO estándar y CBR, para comparar la muestra natural de suelo con las proporciones globales de 5%, 15% y 25% de Material Estabilizante aplicada a esta en estado seco. Así mismo, estas proporciones contienen 4 combinaciones parciales de 100% CBCA; 75%CBCA + 25%Cal; 50%CBCA + 50%Cal; y 100%Cal. Entre los resultados más destacables se tuvieron las mejoras del suelo en características de compactación y CBR, reduciendo la incidencia de la Cal en un 50%. La proporción de material estabilizante que presenta la mejora eficiente e inmediata se obtiene con el 5% de Material Estabilizante respecto a la masa seca de arcilla; con una combinación parcial de 50% de Cal y 50% de CBCA, aumentando el CBR en un 110.81% respecto a la del suelo natural.
The aim of this research work is to use agroindustry’s wastes in conjunction with Lime to stabilize the poor subgrade of an unpaved road. The influence of Sugarcane Bagasse Ash (SCBA) in conjunction with Lime was studied in order to improve the mechanical properties of a low plasticity clayey soil belonging to subgroup A-6 (8), according to AASHTO. The tests that were carried out were the AASHTO standard compaction and CBR, to compare the natural soil sample with the global proportions of 5%, 15% and 25% of Stabilizing Material applied to it in the dry state. Likewise, these proportions contain 4 partial combinations of 100% SCBA; 75% SCBA + 25% Lime; 50% SCBA + 50% Lime; and 100% Lime. Among the most noteworthy results were soil improvements in compaction and CBR characteristics, reducing the incidence of Lime by 50%. The proportion of stabilizing material that presents the immediate and efficient improvement is obtained with 5% Stabilizing Material with respect to the dry mass of clay; with a partial combination of 50% Cal and 50% CBCA, increasing the CBR by 110.81% compared to natural soil’s CBR.

Abstract:

Both at common law and under the Hague-Visby Rules, the shipper, by reason of the dangerous nature of the goods, may become subject to strict liability for damages or losses caused to the vessel, any other cargo or lives on board. However, this formulation only provides a partial portrait of the allocation of this liability, which is only from the perspective of the law of carriage of goods by sea, since it only attaches this liability to whoever falls within the term “shipper”. The term “shipper” however does not signify any real party or identity under the law of carriage of goods by sea. The question therefore remains as to who is the real party contracting for the carriage of the goods by sea. Perhaps the answer lies within the international sale of goodsFor sale contracts on shipment terms, alongside physical obligations in relation to the goods at the loading port, (depending on the sale contract), it is either the seller or the buyer who must make transport arrangements and conclude a contract of carriage for the goods. In the concept of shipment sales, documents are as significant as goods. At the centre of these documents lies bill of lading, whose role it is to evidence a contract of carriage for the agreed destination in the sale contract. When the buyer is not privy to the carriage contract with the carrier, COGSA 1992 Act artificially enables him to become party to that contract. English law, in terms of contract of carriage, is based on principle of mutuality which means that it is not only concerned with the transfer of rights, but also with the imposition of liabilities. In terms of liability arising from dangerous goods, the transferability issue is not yet a settled matter under English law. This area is not fully explored under English law, given that the buyer has not had actually this liability imposed on him. If transmissible, it is therefore not known whether the law of international sale of goods would correspond to recover the buyer’s loss against the seller. Hence, rather than leaving the liability vaguely on the “shipper”, the complex scheme of international sale of goods law proves the necessity to examine the following question, which is at the centre of this thesis: How does the liability arising from the shipment of dangerous goods spread to the real parties of international trade, namely between the seller and the buyer under c.i.f. and f.o.b. sales? This question can be divided into three sub-questions. Firstly, who is the shipper under c.i.f. and f.o.b. sales and do the courts take a different approach in determining the identity of the shipper particularly for the purpose of allocation of the dangerous goods liability? Secondly, is this liability actually transmissible to the buyer and if so, can the law be justified? Thirdly and finally an aspect, which is frequently missing in other academic studies, would the law of international sale of goods provide any assistance to the buyer for recovery of such loss against the seller? If not, how can this problem be overcome? While examining these questions, not only will the thesis assess how satisfactory English law is currently on these issues, but also it will seek to fill the missing parts addressed in the questions with plausible suggestions both under contractual and non-contractual actions.

Abstract:

Det sker ständigt bedrägerier när det gäller lösenordshantering och e-postnätfiske, som det ser ut i nuläget kommer det att fortsätta. Uppsatsen grundar sig i en enkätundersökning som tar upp viktiga frågor inom dessa två områden. Arbetet syftar till att beskriva säkerhetsmedvetenheten bland studenter och att jämföra om det finns skillnader mellan kvinnor och män. Det insamlade materialet från enkätundersökningen har analyserats med datorprogrammet SPSS. Vidare presenteras och analyseras svaren från studenterna med tidigare forskning för att se om de differentierar. Därefter diskuteras frågorna ytterligare i förhållande till den teoretiska ramen, C.I.A - triangeln. Exempelvis resultatet av frågan om starkt lösenord visade på att kvinnorna i undersökningen hade bättre säkerhetsmedvetenhet än kvinnorna i en av källorna från den tidigare forskningen. Avslutningsvis visade resultaten att studenterna i enkätundersökningen hade en hög säkerhetsmedvetenhet. Det fanns inga större skillnader mellan kvinnor och män.

Abstract:

Platsdelning finns i många olika sociala medier idag och har blivit en populär funktion. Platsdelning kan vara väldigt användbart i olika situationer när det kommer till att lokalisera personer, men många är omedvetna om de säkerhetsrisker som kan komma till följd av platsdelning. Syftet med studien är att uppmärksamma de säkerhetsrisker som finns i samband med platsdelning och undersöka hur medvetna användare är om dessa. Fokus ligger på de tre mest använda sociala medierna i Sverige; Facebook, Instagram och Snapchat. Studien bygger på ett antal semistrukturerade intervjuer där frågor om användandet av sociala medier, platsdelning och kunskap om säkerhetsrisker resulterar i möjligheten att svara på studiens forskningsfråga. Analysen gjordes utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk sammansatt av flera grenar inom informationssäkerhet, bland annat C.I.A-triangeln. Informanterna diskuterade problem såsom förföljelse och möjlighet till inbrott när det syntes att man inte var hemma. Slutsatser som kan dras av studien är att flera av informanterna inte såg platsdelning som en säkerhetsrisk, en del för att de inte ansåg sig själva tillräckligt viktiga för att det skulle bli ett hot och andra för att de inte hade kunskapen om vilka säkerhetsrisker som kunde uppstå.

Abstract:

Smarta högtalare är enheter vars användande har vuxit signifikant de senaste åren. Genom röststyrning kan användare bland annat spela musik, styra belysningen, öppna dörrar och göra banköverföringar. Dessa funktioner gör smarta högtalare till ett attraktivt mål för angripare att utnyttja och försöka stjäla privat information. Något som kan leda till allvarliga konsekvenser. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka hur medvetna människor är gällande smarta högtalare och deras säkerhetsrisker. Arbetet ämnar även undersöka om medvetenhet skiljer sig åt beroende på: (1) vilken attityd respondenterna har gentemot smarta högtalare, (2) om respondenten äger en smart högtalare eller inte, och (3) respondentens ålder. Studien är baserad på en enkätundersökning i vilken respondenterna besvarar frågor gällande ägandeskap, attityd, och medvetenhet om smarta högtalare, med fokus på IT-säkerhet. Analysen är gjord utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk bestående av flera aspekter som hotar säkerheten för smarta högtalare, samt C.I.A triangeln. Slutsatsen som kan dras från presentationen och analysen av empirin är att medvetenheten generellt ligger på en låg nivå.
