Researchers have frequently misapplied the name Salix leveilleana C.K. Schneider to S. baileyi C.K. Schneider. After detailed study of the types, relevant specimens and literature, S. leveilleana is synonymized with S. disperma Roxb. ex D. Don. Salix dolia C.K. Schneider and S. rehderiana C.K. Schneider represent the same taxon; in this study, the later one is chosen. Furthermore, the author perfected the descriptions of S. baileyi, and amend its distribution area to include Hunan and Zhejiang, China.

A stand-up comedy performance is not only about amusing the audiences with the joke, but it also has other functions. This research analyzes the pragmatic strategies and function of Louis C.K.’s stand-up comedy concert “Oh My God”. Staff from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh have made four expeditions to eastern Nepal and Bhutan during the years 1985-1991. Brief descriptions and notes on observations, performance and cultivation are given for seven species from this region. The species described are Spiraea hemicryptophyta Grierson, Streptopus parasimplex Hara & Ohashi, Rubus calophyllus C.B.Clarke, Berberis thomsoniana Schneider, Sorbus kurzii (Prain) C.K. Publication in 2012 of Tilia paucicostata Maxim. subsp. dictyoneura (V.Engl.) Pigott (Tiliaceae) was not valid because the publication by Engler in 1909 was not the work in which the intended basionym, T. dictyoneura, had been validly published, being predated by that of C.K. Schneider earlier in the same year. The new combination Tilia paucicostata subsp. dictyoneura (V.Engl. ex C.K.Schneid.) Pigott is validly published here, and designation of the lectotype is confirmed.
