Abstract:
Researchers have frequently misapplied the name Salix leveilleana C.K. Schneider to S. baileyi C.K. Schneider. After detailed study of the types, relevant specimens and literature, S. leveilleana is synonymized with S. disperma Roxb. ex D. Don. Salix dolia C.K. Schneider and S. rehderiana C.K. Schneider represent the same taxon; in this study, the later one is chosen. Furthermore, the author perfected the descriptions of S. baileyi, and amend its distribution area to include Hunan and Zhejiang, China.

A stand-up comedy performance is not only about amusing the audiences with the joke, but it also has other functions. This research analyzes the pragmatic strategies and function of Louis C.K.’s stand-up comedy concert “Oh My God”. Raskin and Attardo’s (1992) General Theory of Verbal Humor (GTVH) and Grice’s (1975) maxims of cooperative principle were employed as the framework of the analysis. A descriptive qualitative method was also used to analyze the data. The result reveals that Louis C.K.’s jokes in this concert mostly violate the maxim of quantity to generate laughter through exaggerati

Abstract:

Staff from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh have made four expeditions to eastern Nepal and Bhutan during the years 1985-1991. Brief descriptions and notes on observations, performance and cultivation are given for seven species from this region. The species described are Spiraea hemicryptophyta Grierson, Streptopus parasimplex Hara & Ohashi, Rubus calophyllus C.B.Clarke, Berberis thomsoniana Schneider, Sorbus kurzii (Prain) C.K. Schneider, Gaultheria tricophylla Royle and Theropogon pallidus (Kunth) Maxim.

Publication in 2012 of Tilia paucicostata Maxim. subsp. dictyoneura (V.Engl.) Pigott (Tiliaceae) was not valid because the publication by Engler in 1909 was not the work in which the intended basionym, T. dictyoneura, had been validly published, being predated by that of C.K. Schneider earlier in the same year. The new combination Tilia paucicostata subsp. dictyoneura (V.Engl. ex C.K.Schneid.) Pigott is validly published here, and designation of the lectotype is confirmed.

(Bejancu [1,2]) The purpose of this paper is to continue the study ofCR-submanifolds, and in particular of those of a locally conformal Kaehler space form (Matsumoto [3]). Some results on the holomorphic sectional curvature,D-totally geodesic,D1-totally geodesic andD1-minimalCR-submanifolds of locally conformal Kaehler (1.c.k.)-space fromM¯(c)are obtained. We have also discussed Ricci curvature as well as scalar curvature ofCR-submanifolds ofM¯(c).

Abstract This paper examines the relationship of Churchill's War Cabinet, and in particular of the prime minister himself to a simplified version of English devised by C.K. Ogden (1889-1957). “Basic English” was developed by Ogden during the late 1920s, the result of an obsession with language and meaning which dated from his undergraduate days, and which was reinforced by the horrors of the First World War. “Basic” was but one of many attempts to devise a universal language made during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Following some minor successes during the 1930s, the real

The current research work is an endeavor to study the chemical profiling and enzyme-inhibition potential of different polarity solvent (n-hexane, dichloromethane—DCM and methanol—MeOH) extracts from the aerial and stem parts of Buxus papillosa C.K.
