Este trabalho buscou verificar a viabilidade do uso de fermentado de glicerol como fonte externa de carbono para a remoção biológica de nutrientes em um reator de leito estruturado, submetido à aeração intermitente (LEAI). O LEAI foi alimentado com efluente de reator UASB de bancada, usado no tratamento de esgoto sanitário. O reator LEAI possuía volume total de 12,3L e, devido às hastes cilíndricas verticais de espuma de poliuretano usadas como suporte para a biomassa, o volume útil foi de 8,6 L. Reatores de leito fixo e fluxo ascendente, com polietileno de baixa densidade reciclado para adesão da biomassa, foram operados a 25°C e com um tempo de detenção hidráulica (TDH) de 2 horas. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde das Wachstum von Bergahorn und Buche mit dendroökologischen Methoden untersucht. Dies geschah vor dem Hintergrund der Ausbreitung des Bergahorns und der Eutrophierung der Landschaft. Die daran anknüpfende Fragestellung ist: Begünstigt Eutrophierung den Bergahorn? Die Untersuchung fand in einem Waldstück in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern statt. Dabei wurden von 42 Bergahornen und 38 Buchen Bohrkerne für die Vermessung der Jahrringe genommen.
