Density management diagrams (DMD) are tools for diagnose the level of stand competence and for prescribing thinning programs. However, they are perceived as complex, so their acceptance and use is limited. To overcome this idea, DMDs are required to bescaled to an intuitive and interactive level to facilitate their practical use by foresters. The objective was to design and develop anonline computer application (CA) that reproduces DMDs based on the Reineke and Yoda functions to provide operational andinteractive functionality to users in the diagnosis and prescription of thinning as intermedia

The article aims to solve the authorship problem of the texts of three Afghan mathnawi poems by ‘Abd al‑Hamid Momand (d. ca. 1144/1732): Shah‑u darwish, Nayrang‑i ʻishq and Shir‘at al‑islam. Using the methods of machine and rolling classification via the R‑Stylo program, the texts of the poems were checked and compared against the corpus of texts by both the alleged author (Hamid) and other poets who created their works around the same time and / or in the style similar to Hamid's. As a result of textual analysis using computer stylometry, we conclude that the two love and mystery poems Shah‑u

McCain's embedding of definite propositional causal theories into logic programming paved the way to the use of answer set solvers for answering queries about actions described in such languages. In this paper we extend this embedding to nondefinite theories and to the first-order causal lo

The role of the mass media in establishing political agendas is examined in the paper along with its advantages and disadvantages. A small case study of Ghana is used to examine how radio affects election agenda-setting. It has been observed that the mass media has a substantial influence on agenda-setting, and that influence is crucial for bringing to the public's attention urgent developmental issues. The media can set the agenda for the public on pressing issues that deserve attention through agenda-setting. Aside from this, agenda-setting has grown over time to include important topics lik

In learning to program and understanding how a programming language controls a computer, learners develop both insights and misconceptions whilst their mental models are gradually refined. It is important that the learner is able to distinguish the different elements and roles of a computer (e.g. compiler, interpreter, memory, etc.), which novice programmers may find difficult to comprehend. Forming accurate mental models is one of the potential sources of difficulty inextricably linked to mastering computing concepts and processes, and for learning computer programming. Abstract To compute very large integers in the Robbins formula, you may have to use a programming language such as Rexx. Alternatively, there are many simple software packages used to compute large integers, such as Mathematica (Wolfram Research). Other notable examples are the large-integer programs of Harry J. Smith. Smith uses his own software package to perform multiple precision integer arithmetic: his software package can even compute transcendental functions to thousands of decimal places. "The words ‘as such’ in s1(2) have given rise to two different approaches, explored in cases concerning the patentability of computer programs and biotechnological inventions. The leading case on biotechnology inventions is Genentech, which is dealt with below: it is referred to in the following cases on computer software. (a) The application can be considered without the excluded matter. If the application is for a computer with a program running on it, the court must consider whether the machine itself adds anything to the state of the art. If the invention’s novelty and inventiveness resides entirely in the program, no patent will be granted. An example of this approach is found in Re Merrill Lynch’s Application [1989] RPC 561 (CA) in the Patents Court, which concerned a data processing system for making a trading market in securities. The program used a known computer system programmed in a standard language. Claim 1 read:." In Sourcebook on Intellectual Property Law.
