Macroinvertebrates and macrophytes were used as indicators to assess the ecological quality of five Latvian-Lithuanian transboundary lakes. The aim of the study is to ensure joint quality assessment of trans-boundary lake water bodies, because studied lakes pose a risk for not meeting good status according to the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. The fieldwork was performed in May and October 2021.
