As in various countries around the world, technology has been developing in our country and the need for trained and qualified technical staff has been growing in parallel to this development. Maps constitute the groundwork of the planning and project designs conducted in the fields of engineering related to infrastructure. Cadastral mapping technicians play an important role in all the studies conducted in order to obtain these maps. For this reason, it is necessary for cadastral mapping technicians to renew themselves in parallel to these developments. Today, the tools used in the mapping se

The accuracy of positional data in cadastral mapping is crucial for various technical activities within the cadastre and related decision-making processes. With digital maps becoming ubiquitous in cadastral operations, assessing the positional accuracy of cadastral maps digitized from stable cadastre systems has become essential. These maps, categorized as DKM and KMD, present different challenges in determining their overall positional accuracy. While DKM maps offer high accuracy, KMD maps, derived from stable cadastre systems, pose challenges due to their varied origins, including potential

The comparison of cadastral systems worldwide proves challenging, given the profound cultural, linguistic, technical, and social disparities among countries. This complexity extends to the examination of data, encompassing issues related to land policy, laws, regulations, ownership, management, and technology within each nation's cadastral framework, forming the foundation for numerous studies. This article delves into a comparative analysis of the cadastral systems of Turkey and Iran, two nations sharing a common geography, similar cultures, and identical religious beliefs. Cadastral marks constitute a dense source of information for topographical surveys required to update cadastral maps. Historically, in Italy, cadastral marks have been the cartographic network for the implementation of mapping updates. Different sources of cadastral marks can be used by cadastral surveyors. In recent years, the cadastre is moving toward a digital world, and with the advancement of surveying technology, GNSS CORS technology has emerged in the positioning of cadastral marks. An analysis of congruence among cadastral marks using GNSS CORS and official maps is missing. Thus, this

An unusual situation exists in Indonesia, where cadastral measurement and mapping for land registration do not adhere to a single coordinate reference framework. The Technical Guidelines for PTSL (2020–2022) state that land parcel measurements can be tied to the National TDT and/or to CORS reference stations, despite the fact that these two use different datum systems. If this is done, issues of gaps and overlaps may arise between adjacent land parcels during mapping. This study aims to highlight the multiplicity of coordinate reference frameworks used in cadastral measurement and mapping, and

Abstract:
In Spain of the 1700s, the century of reforms, cartography proved to be a key means of learning about, managing, improving and defending territories. This paper examines the mapmaking methods and results of two different groups of professionals: the military engineers and the officials who surveyed the territories of the Crown of Castile for the Ensenada Cadastre from 1749 to 1756. The first group created technical maps in accordance with a highly regulated way of working, while the second group produced non-technical maps which have sometimes been termed ‘popular’.
