Abstract:
Characterization and application of calcium ferrites based solid solutions containing active oxygen species for catalysts in propylene total and methane partial oxidation has been studied. The calcium ferrite based solutions containing brownmillerite phases showed a structural transition based on the migration of oxide ions at high temperature. The calcium ferrite solution provided two types of active oxygen species due to the existence of the brownmillerite phase. These oxygen species individually played important roles in the propylene and methane oxidation mechanisms.

The efficient photodegradation of textile dyes is still a challenge, especially considering resistant azo dyes. In this work, zinc/calcium mixed ferrite nanoparticles prepared by the sol–gel method were coupled with silver by a photodeposition method to enhance the photocatalytic potency. The obtained zinc/calcium ferrites are mainly cubic-shaped nanoparticles sized 15 ± 2 nm determined from TEM and XRD and an optical bandgap of 1.6 eV. Magnetic measurements indicate a superparamagnetic behavior with saturation magnetizations of 44.22 emu/g and 27.97 emu/g, respectively, for Zn/Ca ferrite and

This type of calcium lanthanum permanent magnetic ferrite has excellent magnetic properties. SiO2-Fe2O3-CaO (SFC) is believed to be the transition phase during the SiO2-Fe2O3-CaO-Al2O3 (SFCA) formation process. The effect of SiO2 on the mechanical property and reduction of the CaO-Fe2O3-SiO2 system was inspected in this study. Experiments were carried out under air at 1200 °C with different amounts of SiO2 mixed with Fe2O3 and CaO. The mechanical properties and reduction of samples were studied. Results indicate that the hardness of samples gradually increases with the increase of SFC content. That may be caused by SiO2 solid solution in calcium ferrite. The larger the amount and smal

The EAFD was mixed with lime in mole ratio of zinc ferrite and calcium oxide at 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4 and then compressed into pellets. In all cases the RE doping suppresses the intrinsic emission and results in intense luminescence characteristic of the RE dopant. The dewatering of arsenic-containing residuals is a process that has received little study in the past. Arsenic that has been removed from water by sorption to ferric or aluminum hydroxides can accumulate in residuals to concentrations many times higher than in the source water. The first part of this study evaluates the effectiveness of lime conditioning as a method for immobilizing this arsenic. As the pH is increased with addition of caustic soda or soda ash, soluble arsenic concentration increases dramatically. However, as the pH is increased with lime, very little arsenic is released
