The concept of “deep play” by Clifford Geertz, in our society can be referred to football. The pervasiveness of this game and its language, its multiple playful forms and the fact that it is the most practiced game at both a formal and informal level since childhood, and most represented, create the pedagogical conditions for the education of a collective identity of which football is the “background”.

Abstract:
The quantity and quality of yield is determined by the soil quality. The agriculture is one of the main human activities that affect soil quality. In Dolj, the agriculture occupies an important place in the economy of the County. The main soils found in DoljCounty were Chernozems and Luvisols. Several indicators are used to quantify the physical quality of the soil. To assess soil physical quality, disturbed samples from each pedogenetic horizon were collected to analyse: particle size distribution, soil organic content, dispersion and macrohydrostability. Undisturbed samples were also collected (by using a core sampler), for: bulk density, total porosity, saturated hydraulic conductivity, resistance to penetration determination. The degree of compaction, the packing density, the structural stability index as well as the structural instability index were obtained by calculation. The results showed that according to the degree of compaction values, both studied Luvisols (except ArenicLuvisols), and HyposodicCalcaro-calcic Chernozems and Haplic Chernozems with fine texture were severely compacted and required loosening works. Most of the studied horizons of Luvisols had low – extremely low permeability. With a few exceptions, the values of the resistance to penetration were medium. The HyposodicCalcaro-calcic Chernozems shows the highest values of structural instability index.

Abstract:
In mid 2000s the tv rights income reaches a 873 million euro for the 2005-06 season, with the Serie A tv rights annual income to gradually increase from a 844 million euro for the 2009-10 season to an amazing approximate 1,4 billion euro for the 2018-21 season. All these years Lega Calcio experimented a lot in the designing and application of a tv rights selling mechanism and its accompanied tv rights income distribution model. The Greek Superleague followed similar paths with Lega Calcio, when for many years in early 2000s clubs could exploit their tv rights by themselves. Even later, in late 200s and after the establishment of SL and with the collective selling mechanism in use, this mechanism didn’t include all participating clubs. The study aims to show how could Greek Superleague higher management staff learn from the Serie A tv rights deal history and follow the league’s recent tv rights optimal collective selling practices.

Abstract:
Abstract Measurement noise differs by instrument and limits the validity and reliability of findings. Researchers collecting reaction time data introduce noise in the form of response time latency from hardware and software, even when collecting data on standardized computer-based experimental equipment. Reaction time is a measure with broad application for studying cognitive processing in communication research that is vulnerable to response latency noise. In this study, we utilized an Arduino microcontroller to generate a ground truth value of average response time latency in Asteroid Impact, an open source, naturalistic, experimental video game stimulus. We tested if response time latency differed across computer operating system, software, and trial modality. Here we show that reaction time measurements collected using Asteroid Impact were susceptible to response latency variability on par with other response-latency measuring software tests. These results demonstrate that Asteroid Impact is a valid and reliable stimulus for measuring reaction time data. Moreover, we provide researchers with a low-cost and open-source tool for evaluating response time latency in their own labs. Our results highlight the importance of validating measurement tools and support the philosophy of contributing methodological improvements in communication science.

Abstract:
Collected samples of bentonite and associated facies from the Justina deposit of Cretaceous age (Anacleto Formation) have been studied. Facies analysis, mineralogical, and geochemical studies have been carried out using several techniques, including: XRD, FTIR, DTA-TGA, microscopy (OM, SEM-EDX), and chemical analysis. The deposit occurs in a shallow, saline lacustrine environment developed over a fluvial floodplain, with a thickness between 0.21 and 0.8 m intercalated between fine-grained siliciclastic facies. Three mineral assemblages were found. In assemblage 1, the bentonite has low content of detrital minerals and the smectite is sodic. In assemblage 2, the bentonite shows the occurrence of minor analcime and mica, slightly higher detrital mineral content and the smectite is sodic to sodic-calcic. The associated detrital facies (assemblage 3) is dominated by illite and a mixed layer of illite and calcic smectite (R0), subordinately kaolinite + chlorite, and locally low-ordered smectite. As inherited minerals are found: quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioclase, illite-mica, heavy minerals (monazite, zircon, apatite, titanomagnetite) and volcanic rock fragments (andesite, glass). Authigenic minerals are: sodium smectite, analcime, barite, celestine, gypsum, and hematite. A model for the formation of authigenic minerals is proposed, highlighting the formation of sodic smectite from the alteration of volcanic glass of trachyandesitic composition.

International Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering 9 (2018): 16. http://dx.doi.org/10.1051/ijmqe/2018014.

Abstract:
Aggregates and rocks from quarries located in metropolitan France and New Caledonia, all likely to contain asbestiform amphiboles, were analysed by a routine laboratory (AD-LAB). Morphological observations were made using transmission electron microscopy and chemical analyses were obtained with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The chemical analyses obtained from amphiboles were treated in such a way that they could be plotted in a diagram (Si apfu versus Mg/Mg+Fe2+). The points corresponding to analysed particles, classified as asbestos, define a broader compositional domain than that corresponding to the compositional areas of actinolite and tremolite. The creation of two new domains is proposed. Samples of basic metavolcanics and amphibolites collected by the Geological and Mining Research Bureau (BRGM) in different quarries of the Armorican Massif and the Massif Central containing calcic amphibole fibres have been the subject of polarized light microscope and electron microprobe analyses. The representative points of the spot chemical analyses performed on the very fine and ultrafine fibres are contained in the range defined previously. The diagram that has been determined from chemical analyses coupled with morphological and dimensional observations can help the “routine laboratories” to better characterise asbestiform calcic amphiboles, but it also allows comparisons with geological observations.

The article is devoted to the study of heavy metals content in the soils of Rostov-on-Don. Soil samples were collected from full-profile transects located in different areas of the city and suburbs of Rostov-on-Don. The group of anthropogenically altered soils included Urbic Technosol urbanstratozems and replantozems, as well as urbanized chernozems Calcic Chernozems (Technic). Natural soils of recreational areas are represented by migration-segregation chernozems Calcic Chernozems (Pachic). The study was carried out using atomic absorption spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence analysis to determine the content of metals, carbon content was determined on a TOC analyzer. Graphical analysis was used to identify the correlations. The main purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between the content of metals and carbon in the soil profile. It was shown that the presence of carbonate barrier in deep soil horizons (BC and C) in chernozems and in surface layers of urban stratozems under anthropogenic pollution influenced the mobility of metals. The accumulation of organic carbon in humus-accumulative horizons promotes the growth of exchangeable form of zinc, lead, and copper in the total content of these metals.

Abstract:
Banana aphid, Pentalonia nigronervosa Coquerel (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is known as vector of Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) that threatening production of banana worldwide. It was reported recently that P. nigronervosa and P. caladii is “cryptic species”. A good and proper identification is necessary to verify the correct species and its status. Research was conducted to identify and to find the host range of banana aphids in Java. Aphid collection was conducted in several locations in West Java, Central Java, and East Java. Eleven morphometric characters were analyzed to assess the morphometric variations among banana aphids. Morphological identification and principle component analysis (PCA) approach were conducted for accurate identification of banana aphids. Two species of aphids were found during the survey in Java, i.e. P. nigronervosa and P. caladii. P. nigronervosa mostly infested bananas (Musa spp.), and a few was found on heliconia (Heliconia sp.) and banana traveler (Ravenala madagascariensis). In contrast, P. caladii generally infested taro (Colocasia esculenta), turmeric (Curcuma longa), costus (Costus sp.), dumbcane (Dieffenbachia sp.), but rarely on bananas.

Abstract:
Introduction: Rickettsioses are zoonotic diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria of the genus Rickettsia and transmitted to man by means of arthropod vectors such as ticks, fleas, mites and lice. Historically, Caldas Department has reported a significant number of cases of murine typhus to the Colombian national health surveillance system, and consequent studies of flea-borne rickettsiosis identified the circulation of Rickettsia typhi and Rickettsia felis in multiple municipalities. Our aim was to genotype species of Rickettsia detected in fleas collected from domestic and wild mammals in Caldas. Methodology: Flea samples were taken by convenience sampling from dogs, cats and wild mammals (rodents and marsupials) in 26 municipalities. Specimens were classified by current taxonomic keys and pooled for DNA extraction and molecular screening for Rickettsia spp. by PCR amplification of gltA, htrA and sca5 genes. Positive samples were genotyped by enzyme digestion (htrA) and sequencing. Results: A total of 1388 flea samples were collected. Rickettsia DNA was amplified in 818 (gltA), 883 (htrA) and 424 (sca5) flea pools. Alignment analysis with available Rickettsia DNA sequences showed greater similarity with R. asembonensis (gltA) and with R. felis (sca5 and htrA). Restriction pattern was compatible with R. felis. R. typhi was not identified. Conclusion: The present study confirms the presence and high prevalence of R. asembonensis and R. felis in fleas from domestic and wild animals in different municipalities from Caldas Department.

Abstract:
Objective: To establish a baseline about the solar photovoltaic energy systems installed in the department of Caldas, Colombia. Methodology: The solar photovoltaic installations were identified from secondary sources of information, followed by field visits to collect information on the characteristics of these systems. An evaluation instrument was designed consisting of 6 categories which was subsequently evaluated by expert peers. It was applied accompanied by interviews with owners of the identified systems. Results: 41 solar photovoltaic systems were identified and installed in 11 municipalities of Caldas. Data was collected from 28 installations with different characteristics. 50% of the solar photovoltaic systems are in the Central-South region of Caldas. 71% of the systems are mainly installed in the urban area; 64% correspond to small-scale isolated solar photovoltaic energy generation systems, with a maximum power of less than 600W. These installations have become a viable energy alternative for the region and are being used especially for lighting and the operation of household appliances in residences, hotels, restaurants, and educational institutions. Conclusions: Although regulations on solar energy installations had not been established, these systems have already been implemented in the department in a successful, but moderate, manner.

Abstract:
Soil erodibility is one of the most crucial factors used to estimate soil erosion by applying modeling techniques. Soil data from soil maps are commonly used to create maps of soil erodibility for soil conservation planning. This study analyzed the spatial variability of soil erodibility by using a digital elevation model (DTM) and surface soil sample data at the Rhirane catchment (Algeria). A total of 132 soil samples were collected of up to 20 cm in depth. The spatial distributions of the K-value and soil physical properties (permeability, organic matter, and texture) were used to elaborate ordinary Kriging interpolation maps. Results showed that mean values of soil organic matter content were statistically different between Chromic Cambisols (M = 3.4%) vs. Calcic Cambisols (M = 2.2%). The analysis of variance of the organic matter provided a tool for identifying significant differences when comparing means between the soil types. The soil granulometry is mainly composed of silt and fine sand. The soil erodibility showed values varying between 0.012 and 0.077 with an average of 0.034, which was greater in soils with calcic horizons. Statistical evaluation by using Pearson’s correlation revealed positive correlations between erodibility and silt (0.63%), and negative correlations with sand (−0.16%), clay (−0.56%), organic matter (−0.32%), permeability (−0.41%), soil structure (−0.40%), and the soil stability index (−0.26%). The variability analysis of the K-factor showed moderate spatial dependency with the soil erodibility map indicating moderate to highly erodible risk in cropland and sparse grassland land uses. Overall, the study provides scientific support for soil conservation management and appropriate agricultural food practices for food supply.

Abstract:
Soil characterization and pedological classification are essential to define its main potentials and restrictions. The objective of this work was to classify the morphological, physical, chemical, and pedological attributes of soils of the Terra da Esperança Settlement Project (TESP) in Chapada do Apodi, Brazil, and find the most sensitive attributes for distinguishing them using multivariate analysis. The research was carried out in the TESP, in the municipality of Governor Dix-Sept Rosado, state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Ten sites were chosen to open representative soil profiles: Native Forest Area 1 (NFA1), 2 (NFA2), and 3 (NFA3), Collective Area with Native Forest (CNF), Agroecological Area (AEA), Cashew crop Area (CCA) Collective Area with Pasture 1 (CAP1), and 2 (CAP2), Permanent Preservation Area (PPA), and Cajaraneira (Spondia sp.) Orchard Area (COA). Disturbed and undisturbed soil samples were collected and subjected to physical and chemical analysis for soil classification. The soils classes found were: Cambissolo Haplico Carbonatico vertissolico (NFA1), Cambissolo Haplico Carbonatico tipico (CNF, and AEA), Cambissolo Haplico Ta Eutrofico tipico (CAP2, NFA2, and COA), Cambissolo Haplico Ta Eutrofico vertissolico (NFA3), Argissolo Vermelho Distrofico latossolico (CCA), Chernossolo Rendzico Ortico saprolitico (CAP1), and Neossolo Fluvico Ta Eutrofico tipico (PPA). The material of origin of the soils contributed to the presence of a calcic horizon in the profiles NFA1, CNF, AEA, CCA (Cambissolos), and CAP1 (Chernossolos). The textural class of the soils varied from sand to clay. The Argissolo (CCA) presented acid character, high aluminum saturation, low base saturation, dystrophic character, and low cation exchange capacity, forming horizons with chemical limitations, due to its latossolico character. The most sensitive attributes for distinguishing the soil classes were related to the source material, which directly influenced the soil physical (silt and clay) and chemical (acidity, salinity, nutrient availability, and clay activity) attributes.

Abstract:
The Coffee Region of Colombia is one of the most representative areas of the country due to its cultural appeal. 200 of the 528 mammal species in the country occur in this region. Pre-existing knowledge about the group in this region has been obtained through indirect and direct sampling methods. We present new records of mammals of the “Reserva Forestal Protectora Bosques de la Central Hidroeléctrica de Caldas (CHEC)”, located in the Coffee Region, based on vouchered citizen science records. To accomplish this, we held training workshops on the relevance of information provided by non-invasive vouchers for mammal collections that include bone remains, hairs, skin and other signs that can be found incidentally in the field by park rangers and other staff of the Reserve. In addition, we included photographic and video records of mammals taken by park rangers before and after the training workshops. We added vouchers obtained by the park rangers to the biological collection of the Natural History Museum of the Universidad de Caldas (MHN-UCa). Using this method, we obtained records of 34 mammalian species belonging to 20 families and 11 orders. We highlight the obtention of museum preserved vouchers of the Northern Naked-tailed Armadillo, Cabassous centralis (Miller 1899), and the Cauca Slender Opossum, Marmosops caucae (Thomas 1900), that had limited samples in national collections or had not been previously collected in the study area. With this work, a contribution network with the CHEC reserve staff was established, promoting the inclusion of these agents in the development of scientific research, and showing the relevance of collaborative science in assisting with filling information gaps about medium and large mammals.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTAphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae) have been the focus of several studies with respect to their interactions with inherited symbionts, but bacterial communities of most aphid species are still poorly characterized. In this research, we used bar-coded pyrosequencing to characterize bacterial communities in aphids. Specifically, we examined the diversity of bacteria in two obligately parthenogenetic aphid species (the melon aphid,Aphis gossypii, and the cardamom aphid,Pentalonia caladii) cocolonizing two plant species (taro,Colocasia esculenta, and ginger,Alpinia purpurata) across four Hawaiian Islands (Hawaii, Kauai, Maui, and Oahu). Results from this study revealed that heritable symbionts dominated the bacterial communities for both aphid species. The bacterial communities differed significantly between the two species, andA. gossypiiharbored a more diverse bacterial community thanP. caladii. The bacterial communities also differed across aphid populations sampled from the different islands; however, communities did not differ between aphids collected from the two host plants.

Abstract:
Responding to the need to provide added value to milk produced in the towns of Salamis, Aranzazu and Viterbo in the Caldas department, a project was formulated with the overall objective of developing the production of ripened cheeses destined for domestic and international markets. The physicochemical characteristics of raw milk from these municipalities were thus studied initially, finding that standards regarding milk quality and density (1.030-1.033 g / l), total dry extract (11.30%) and defatted dry extract (8.30%) for the first two came within the range considered normal for cheese-making. Subsequently, Camembert, Cheddar, Emmental, Gruyere and Gouda cheese-making processes were developed in the University of Caldas' Food Technology Unit, using an preexperimental design having a single measurement and using techniques currently validated for ripened cheese preparation. Such processes were analysed for the sensory characteristics and evolution involved in ripening (proteolysis and lipolysis changes). Standardising Camembert, Cheddar and Gouda cheese production should be stressed among the results as they eventually complied with the highest sensory preferences and optimum ripening as verified by parameters such as degree of acidity, ripeness and protein and moisture percentage. It was thus found feasible to develop some ripened cheeses from milk produced in the northern municipalities of Caldas and transfer the results to its collection centres for providing greater added value to raw milk production at semiindustrial level.

Abstract:
In Colombia, the taxonomical understanding of ectoparasites (Diptera: Streblidae and Nycteribiidae) of bats is scarce, despite the high diversity of hosts. This fact reflects the lack of important information on the group and poses the need for studies that expand the knowledge on bat ectoparasites in different regions of the country. The aim of this study was to contribute pioneer knowledge on bat ectoparasitic insects in the department of Caldas, located in the Central Andes Mountain range of Colombia. We assessed 318 bats from four eco parks in the city of Manizales, and collected 234 ectoparasitic insects. We provide the first report of the family Streblidae for Caldas, with seven genera and eight species: Anastrebla caudiferae Wenzel, 1976, Anatrichobius scorzai Wenzel, 1966, Exastinion oculatum Wenzel, 1976, Megistopoda proxima (Séguy‚ 1926), Paratrichobius longicrus Ribeiro, 1907, Paraeuctenodes similis Wenzel, 1976, Trichobius longipes Rudow, 1871, and Trichobius tiptoni Wenzel, 1976. In addition, we report the species Basilia ferrisi Schuurmans Stekhoven, 1931 and Basilia sp. for the family Nycteribiidae.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction AML is a heterogeneous group of neoplasm according to leukemogenic mechanisms and has variable response to treatment. In addition to age and WBC count at diagnosis, cytogenetic and molecular abnormalities are key factors to assess prognosis. In this work, we evaluated the number of adult AML cases diagnosed between 2009 and 2012 in the French Nord Pas de Calais and Picardie regions (North of France). The aim of the study was the collection of epidemiology data, treatments proposed and their results in real life. Matérials and Methods The Nord Pas de Calais and Picardie observatory contains data of all adult patients (>18 years) with AML (>20% marrow blasts) diagnosed in the oncology and/or hematology departments of the following participating Hospitals: Amiens (A), Arras (Ar), Boulogne (B), Dunkerque (D), Lens (L), Lille (CHRU et CH St Vincent (Vi)), Roubaix (R) et Valenciennes (V), whose overall catchment population is close to 6 million inhabitants , allowing a population based registry. A disadvantage of registry data is that investigators cannot control data collection and quality. In our observatory, data were obtained from the declaration of all the participants centralized with a web access reporting data base. The declaration of patients in the database was made both by clinicians, cytogeneticists and molecular biologists. The following data were entered:, disease course, WBC counts, bone marrow blast %, cytogenetics, immunophenotype, molecular biology, treatment received, outcome. To optimize data quality, each kind of data was entered respectively by clinicians, cytogeneticists and molecular biologists. Data were cross validated and the follow up data were updated every years during follow-up of the patients. Data was collected as of October 2013 Results Between January 2009 and December 2012, 899 patients were enrolled in the observatory, respectively 185 (A), 33 (Ar), 43 (B), 66 (D), 85 (L), 197 (CHRU), 57 (Vi), 98 (R) and 135 (V). Median age was 67 years (range 17 to 97), 54% of patients were older than 65 years, M/F was 1.12 (425 female (47%) et 474 male (53%)). Cytogenetic studies were performed in 87% of the patients, immunophenotype in 57%, molecular biology screening for FLT3 and NPM1 mutation in 61%. Intent of treatment was conventional chemotherapy (CTi) 50%, demethylating agent (DMT) 18% and best supportive care (BSC) 32% + Low dose cytarabine (LDAC). The overall median survival was 269 days (624d < 65 y and 115d for > 65 y) (fig1). 15% of the patients (132pts) were included in a clinical trial (90 % <65 y and 10% >65 y). Median overall survival of the patients included in a clinical trial and aged <65y was 1121d vs 563d for patients not included in a clinical trial and aged <65y (p:ns). Of the 482 patients aged >65 y, MRC cytogenetic classification was unfavourable (139 pts; 29%), intermediate (209 pts; 43%), favourable (18 pts; 4%) and not done 116 pts (24%). Overall, in pts aged > 65, treatment was CTI 93 pts (19%), DMT 130 pts (27%), BSC 210 pts (44%), LDAC) 38 pts (8%), others 11 pts (2%). Among pts with unfavourable karyotype treatment was: Cti (14%), DMT (45%), LDAC (2%), BSC (38%) and others (1%). overall median survival in this unfavourable group was 222d with DMT vs 104d with LDAC vs 227d with CTI. In intermediate cytogenetics cases, treatment was Cti (24%), DMT (19%), LDAC (14%), BSC (42%) and other (1%), and median OS was 270d with DMT vs 189d with ARAC-LD vs 378d with Cti. Demethylating agent treatment results were different between MRC groups. In the intermediate MRC group of pts >65y, OS was better with CTI vs DMT (p:0.03), whereas in the unfavorable pts group aged >65y/o, DMT treatment seemed to be as effective than Cti (fig 2 and 3). Conclusion This registry study gives a real life idea of the therapeutic intent in AML patients, stressing in particular the small proportion of patients who can be included in clinical trials due to comorbidity and also the small number of available clinical trials in elderly patients, due to the current lack of promising drug apart from IC (among pts>65y/o only 13 pts have been included). Our observatory shows that in pts >65 y/o the intent of treatment should take account MRC classification, CTI being more effective that DMT or LDAC only in intermediate cases. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
Within the bird-plant-mite system, the relationship between hummingbirds, flowers, and mites remains poorly understood. In this study, we evaluated the degree of association between nasal mites and eight species of Andean hummingbirds in Colombia (Amazilia saucerrottei,A. tzacatl, Chalybura buffonii,Chlorostilbon mellisugus, Florisuga mellivora, Glaucis hirsutus, Phaethornis guy and P. striigularis). Over a five-month period (trapping effort 360 hours/month), a total of 178 birds were captured, from which 81 mite specimens were collected and identified as belonging to three genera (Proctolaelaps, Rhinoseius andTropicoseius) spanning eleven species. This is the first report of its kind from Colombia on the identification of the mite speciesP. rabulatus, R. luteyni, R. rafinskii, T. berryi, T. colwelli, T. erro and T. uniformisand the first record of P. guy as phoretic host forProctolaelaps rabulatus. Morphological characteristics (length of the dorsal plate, width of the dorsal plate and setae z5 length) alone failed to distinguish between mite species. The ecologic impact of this relationship on flowers with respect to nectar and pollen availability and the effect of mites on pollination by hummingbirds needs to be determined.

Abstract:
Freshwater ecosystems are under severe anthropic pressure (e.g. agriculture and mining), which generates adverse effects on the diversity of aquatic insects. We evaluated the insect community in streams impacted by agriculture and mining, and determined how these activities affected the community. We studied six streams in Caldas (Colombia), two with mining and two with agriculture impact. We collected the insects using a Surber net with three replicates per substrate (fine sediment, stones, and litter). In total, 12 502 aquatic insects were collected. The most representative genera were Baetodes, Simulium, and Cricotopus (57.7 %). Streams with agricultural activity had lower aquatic insects diversity than mining impact (F2,309 = 21.82, p = 0.001). The agriculture areas presented a structure dominated by Simulium and Cricotopus (Diptera, pollution-tolerant morphospecies). Baetodes dominated in stones substrate, Cricotopus in sediment, and Simulium and Cricotopus dominated in litter (F2,309 = 2.84, p = 0.001). Therefore, both factors (impact and substrate type) are being important in determining the diversity of aquatic insects. Our results suggested that agricultural activity has a higher impact on the diversity of aquatic insects, which may be associated with the loss of riparian vegetation.

Abstract:
The cape gooseberry (Physalis peruviana L.), a fruit species cultivated in the Andes, is one of the major fruit exports of Colombia. We hypothesized that the Andean cordilleras in Colombia play a role in structuring the genetic diversity of this crop. For addressing this hypothesis, a set of 85 Colombian cape gooseberry accessions from different departments and cordilleras was analyzed by means of 15 SSR markers. AMOVA, clustering and Bayesian analyses were applied. The results showed the presence of two major groups related to geography: one consisting of cultivated and non-cultivated accessions from the eastern Andes (Norte de Santander, Santander, Boyaca and Cundinamarca) and the other one consisting of cultivated and non-cultivated accessions from the central and western Andes (Antioquia, Caldas, Cauca and Nariño). The genetic relationships between the accessions suggested that the movement of cape gooseberry seeds may be more frequent between neighboring regions, thus explaining the existence of these two major groups. The results also showed lower levels of genetic diversity in this sample (HE=0.223), as compared to other Physalis species and other studies on the cape gooseberry that used different molecular markers. It is recommended that future evaluation studies include both cultivated and non-cultivated genotypes from the two major groups detected in this study in order to better represent the genetic diversity available in this crop.

Abstract:
Calcium (Ca) represents about 40% of the total mineral mass, mainly in the bone, providing mechanical strength to the skeleton and teeth. An adequate Ca intake is necessary for bone growth and development in children and adolescents and for maintaining bone mineral loss in elderly age. Ca deficiency predisposes to osteopenia and osteoporosis. Healthy nutrition, including an adequate intake of Ca-rich food, is paramount to prevent and cure osteoporosis. Recently, several clinical studies have demonstrated that, in conditions of Ca dysmetabolism, Ca-rich mineral water is beneficial as a valuable source of Ca to be used as an alternative to caloric Ca-rich dairy products. Although promising, these data have been collected from small groups of participants. Moreover, they mainly regard the effect of Ca-rich mineral water on bone metabolism. In contrast, an investigation of the effect of Ca supplementation on systemic metabolism is needed to address the spreading of systemic metabolic dysfunction often associated with Ca dysmetabolism. In the present study, we analyzed urine and blood sera of 120 women in perimenopausal condition who were subjected for six months to 2l daily consumption of bicarbonate–calcium mineral water marketed under ®Lete. Remarkably, this water, in addition to being rich in calcium and bicarbonate, is also low in sodium. A complete set of laboratory tests was carried out to investigate whether the specific water composition was such to confirm the known therapeutic effects on bone metabolism. Second, but not least, urine and blood sera were analyzed using NMR-based metabolomic procedures to investigate, other than the action on Ca metabolism, potential system-wide metabolic effects. Our data show that Lete water is a valid supplement for compensating for Ca dysmetabolism and preserving bone health and integrity.

Abstract:
On the outskirts of Calais, the refugee camp known as ‘the Jungle’ was recently demolished, the final violent act in a long history of enforced precarity. In recent years, the camp had massively increased in inhabitants, and through the collective actions of these inhabitants, along with the volunteers that helped there, the Jungle inculcated what Doreen Massey would have described as a ‘progressive sense of place’, in that it espoused cultural and social richness, but also violent conflict. Richness in that the camp was a site where home is constantly made by the refugees and asylum seekers with help from the volunteers, but also of conflict because it was under constant attack from the authorities and prefecture of the site, culminating in its eventual demolition. They enacted domicidal and home ‘un-making’ practices, which meant that the inhabitants had to continually (re)make their notions of home. This home-making/un-making/re-making cycle was played out most readily via its materiality which was highly precarious. Through ethnographic and participative methods conducted as a volunteer, I posit that the Jungle was, and arguably still is, a site with material precarity embedded throughout, making it a ‘progressive’ place that mixed hope and despair, richness and conflict, home-making and un-making.

The urban afforestation is an important tool for the formation of a city with an environmental quality. The present project has the aim to provide the qualitative inventory of all tree species and their respective families, in the neighborhood of Véu das Noivas, located in the west region of the municipality of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais. For each tree, geographic coordinates were collected and the species identified, with the help of experts, and with the material available in “Jardim Botânico de Poços de Caldas” foundation and bibliographies. Together, all species make a total of 497 individuals, once 185 in green spaces, 211 were located close to public highways and 101 were located close to the walls of some buildings. Among these trees, 44 species were found in green spaces, 54 in streets and 19 in vertical landscaping, distributed in 27 families present in green areas, 25 in streets and 14 in vertical landscaping. It was also noticed exotical species compose most part of the analyzed trees. It’s important to remember that the usage of adequate species in urban afforestation is directly related to a correct urban planning.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the effect of location, promotion, perceived price on purchasing decisions. This study uses purposive sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 50 respondents. The research method used is quantitative methods. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. The independent variable is the purchasing decision variable and the dependent variable is location, promotion, and price perception at my favorite clothing store. In this study, the authors used data collection methods by means of observation, interviews and distributing questionnaires or questionnaires. The data that has been collected is processed using test instruments, analysis of respondents' responses, calcic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination (R2) and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the variables of location, promotion, and price perception had a significant effect on the decision to buy clothes in a regular shop in the city of Bengkulu. The results of the t test for the location variable (X1) show the value of t_hit> t_ (α / 2) (3.371> 1.97882) and (sig α = 0.001 <0.050), the promotion variable (X2) shows the value of t_hit> t_ (α / 2 ) (6.352> 1.97882) and (sig α = 0.000 <0.050), the price perception variable (X3) shows the value of t_hit> t_ (α / 2) (3.371> 1.97882) and (sig α = 0.001 <0.050) . The results of the F test, the significant value of F, which is 0.000 less than 0.050 and Fcount is greater than Ftable, the value of Fcount> Ftable, namely (31.736> 1.65685) and (sig α = 0.000 <0.050). From the results of data processing, it can be concluded that all variables of location, promotion, and price perception simultaneously have a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the purchase decision. Apart from that, from the results of the linear regression test, the equation for the regression is as follows: Y = 1.648 + 0.394 X1 + 0.266 X2 + 0.287X3.

It occurs exclusively near the town of Caldas, in Minas Gerais state, and more specifically on Pedra Branca (White Rock Mountain), and in the Serra do Itatiaia, in Rio de Janeiro state.

Abstract:
Abstract The Cely Letters is a well-known collection of correspondence exchanged by members of this London family of wool merchants and their associates between 1472 and 1488. A substantial part of the corpus was written and received by factors based in Calais, which had been an English outpost in France since 1346 and was strategically connected to the wool marts of the Low Countries. The great majority of the letters are monolingual English texts, thus attesting to the widespread use of the vernacular in personal correspondence by the late fifteenth century. Nevertheless, behind the monolingual English surface, traces of multilingualism are revealed. In this paper, I intend to analyse this issue with a twofold purpose. In the first place, attention will be paid to the multilingual background of the letters, considering both the persistent use of French in late medieval England and the specificity of the business transactions carried out at Calais and the marts, where language contact must have been the norm. In the second place, different textual reflections of such contact in the letters are examined and classified, both as regards the generic conventions of letter writing and as part of the multilingual business context where they were produced and received.

Abstract:
The High Altitude Fields (HAF) are unique phytosociological features that occur only in certain regions of the Atlantic Forest. It is composed of herbaceous and shrubby vegetation and shallow soils that promote local water infiltration and recharge. Occurring on top of hills, the HAF are isolated units in the landscape, connecting with the matrix through associated ecosystems (springs with riparian forests and “capões de mata”, which are natural islands of arboreal vegetation, commonly associated with rural vegetation, such as high-altitude fields, located above 1,200 m in phytogeographic domains of the Atlantic Forest, Cerrado or Caatinga). These areas have great species endemism, and studies concerning the order Odonata are still scarce. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the ecological responses (richness, diversity, specificity) of adult odonates in these ecosystems. The study was conducted from November 2020 to March 2021 in three areas in the Poços de Caldas Plateau, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. A total of 45 species (247 specimens) were collected, with the highest total richness being recorded for Anisoptera. Among the sampled areas, there was no difference in Anisoptera communities, but there was a difference in Zygoptera species composition. In general, the most preserved remnant of HAF, the greater it presents greater richness of Odonata and harbors a regional pool of species.

Abstract:
Groundwater and surface water samples were collected at Morro do Ferro, a thorium and rare earth deposit located on the Poços de Caldas Plateau, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, to evaluate if the mechanisms related to the migration of 238U and 234U isotopes can generate concentrations greater than the grossalpha activity contaminant limit. The 238U content range was 0.003-0.24 pCi/l and the 234U content range was 0.004-0.25 pCi/l, showing that the studied hydrologie environment doesn't indicate pollution by radioactivity due to these nuclides. However, 226Ra and 228Ra isotopes can be considered as radioactive pollutants in groundwaters but not in surface waters of the Morro do Ferro.

Abstract:
Objective: We aimed to determine the species of the Culicidae family inhabiting the tank bromeliad Tillandsia elongata in an agroecosystem of the Colombian Andes, utilizing taxonomic and molecular methods. Scope: While Agriculture is recognized as one of the causes of biodiversity loss, agroecosystems have the potential to maintain the invertebrate biodiversity, including mosquito species. Methodology: We collected immature mosquitoes from 48 bromeliads in the agroecosystem “Montelindo” of Universidad de Caldas in Santágueda (Palestina, Caldas, Colombia). To collect the immature mosquitoes within each bromeliad, we filtered the water in the tank using a 150 µm-mesh sieve, and subsequently cleaned each bromeliad leaf with a brush. Taxonomic and molecular approaches were employed for mosquito species identification. Main results: This study presents the first report of immature mosquitoes from the genera Toxorhynchites and Wyeomyia inhabiting the bromeliad Tillandsia elongata in agroecosystems. Morphological identification led to establishing two species of Toxorhynchites, namely Toxorhynchites bambusicola (Lutz and Neiva) and Toxorhynchites haemorrhoidalis (Fabricius). DNA sequencing confirmed the presence of two species Wy. mitchelli (Theobald) and Wy. pertinans (Williston). Our results expand the known distribution range of Toxorhynchites species, as well as the bromeliad species that serve as breeding sites for Tx. bambusicola and Tx. haemorrhoidalis. Agroecosystems have the potential to contribute to Culicidae biodiversity through the conservation of breeding water bodies as tank bromeliads.

Abstract:
The use of groundwater in Bouhmama area for drinking and irrigation purposes has increased progressively over the past decade. The water quality of the aquifer has been significantly altered by anthropogenic activity, such as the extensive use of chemical fertilizers. This research intends to enhance our understanding of the hydrogeochemical function of the Mellagou aquifer in the Bouhmama area in northeastern Algeria. It contributes to the identification of the phenomena affecting the mineralization and the mechanisms of salinization of groundwater. A total of 15 groundwater samples were collected during the rainy seasons in 2022 distributed in the study area. In order to performed the results obtained this study used hydrochemical diagram (Piper, Schoeller, Stiff, Stabler, and Wilcox diagrams), thermodynamic models (saturation indexes), and statistical method (PCA). Three chemical facies with a predominance of the calcic bicarbonate facies reflect the influence of intercalations within the bicarbonate sedimentary formations. Groundwater mineralization is mainly governed by the dissolution and the precipitation of minerals (gypsum and halite, calcite and dolomite), Base Exchange, and anthropogenic activities. The results acquired by PCA show that the variables controlling water mineralization are Cl-, Na+, and K+.

Abstract:
Suspended sediments atmospheric deposition and specific transport in hydrographic basins under mining influence in the Poços de Caldas Plateau (MG) A B S T R A C TPoços de Caldas volcanic caldera, a geological formation rich in bauxite, is located in the southern region of Minas Gerais State. Despite its economic and social importance, mining can cause some impacts such as erosion, increased runoff and silting. The present study quantified total suspended solids atmospheric deposition and specific transport in the Gigante and Chapadão Stream hydrographic sub-basins, under mining influence, in Poços de Caldas Plateau (MG). 14-rainwater samples and 26-river water were collected and analyzed. Rain deposition and fluvial transport were 6.00 t/year and 1.47 t/year for Gigante, and 26.65 t/year and 40.64 t/year for Chapadão, respectively. The specific transport in the Gigante (0.40 t/km2/year) and Chapadão (2.49 t/km2/year) have values below other basins in the Plateau region. On the other hand, atmospheric deposition was 1.64 t/km2/year, above other basins in the Plateau region, despite the small numbers of studies. The differences were -1.24 t/km2/year for Gigante and 0.85 t/km2/year for Chapadão, indicating that rainwater contributes with approximately 400% of suspended solids for Gigante and 65% for the Chapadão. Mining activities, employing adequate procedures, with vegetation cover in the main drainage, may be mitigating total suspended solids transport carried by surface runoff. Nevertheless, measures to control air pollution diffuse type and reduce particulate matter can be adopted. Keywords: defluvium, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate, Cipó reservoir.
