Abstract:
Travel cost models were estimated for camping trips to designated recreation areas in the Rocky-Clearwater Forest in Alberta during 1994. Trips were aggregated by postal code and resulting trip counts from each postal code were utilized in truncated Poisson and negative binomial regressions. The study involved the design of a camping fee collection permit which allowed a census of users rather than a sample to be utilized in the analysis. Per trip consumer surplus estimates resulting from the Poisson model revealed that aggregate nonmarket benefits provided by the Alberta Land and Forest Service forest recreation areas were about $750,000 in 1994. The study suggests that with little effort and some planning, fee collection permit systems can be used in concert with travel cost and geographic information systems to provide estimates of some nontimber values in Canada's forests. Key words: nontimber values, camping, travel cost models, forest recreation, geographical information systems

Abstract:
The article offers new selection principles of camping sites. Camping-parking for transit car-tourists and camping for tourists have different selection processes, preparation and organization of the site for them. It is important to take into account the maximum combination of attractions in the camping that is created. Geographical location of a site also assumes high level of security of car tourists in a camping. The authors consider requirements for the organization and following of fire safety instructions as the basic rules of security. Complying with the rules adopted for the European campgrounds is important in ensuring fire safety. They take into account a rational organization of the parking accommodation for vehicles (autocampers), tents or small houses, space for barbecue, administrative and other buildings. The authors develop a mathematical model of searching of rational placement camping for tourists, and make proposal for drawing up regulatory instruments that will reduce the threat of fire in camping. The economic efficiency of the proposed organizational and regulatory solutions is provided by reducing of costs and attractiveness increasing of these places of accommodation both for domestic and foreign car tourists.

Abstract:
Understanding social values of stakeholder groups is an essential part of ecosystem management. Values of one stakeholder group, campers at managed sites in the Rocky-Clearwater Forest of Alberta, were examined using campground management preference and forest attitude scales. On-site and mail surveys were used to collect data from campers during 1994. Four specialization clusters were delineated that identified differences in management preferences. Campers most familiar with the area and those with the most camping experience were the least supportive of traditional timber management and campground development. Overall, campers did not support increased facility development at campgrounds. This study suggests that campers may be supportive of an ecosystem approach to forest management that incorporates nontimber values. Key words: camping, ecosystem management, forest recreation, management preferences, recreation specialization, social values

Abstract:
This article analyses the Global and Ukrainian hotel industry development statistics and in particular, camping in 2020. In order to find ways to improve the competitiveness of Ukrainian campsites we look at statistics about travel and tourism impact of COVID-19. The hotel services sector remains today one of the most dynamically developed sectors of the Ukrainian economy. In recent years, the hotel market in Ukraine is gradually recovering after a sharp drop in 2014. Against this background, more and more investors are planning to buy a ready-made hotel business such as campsites. It is established that the development of the hotel industry is facilitated by the opening of low-cost airlines, which leads to an increase of foreign tourists number. However, according to the forecasts of the World travel and tourism council, the share of tourism in Ukraini-an GDP by 2028 will increase to only 1.7%, and the number of foreigners visiting Ukraine in a year will increase to 21 million from the current 15 in 2028 (the share of tourists among them less, since statistics take into account transit travelers), which indicates the low attractiveness of Ukraine as a tourist destination. The low pace of de-velopment of the industry is due to COVID-19 in the beginning of 2020 and the absence in Ukraine of legislation favorable for the development of the tourist industry and the necessary infrastructure, and the lack of quality ho-tels and campsites. Therefore, despite the increase in inbound tourist flow, Ukrainians themselves have been and remain the main guests of Ukrainian hotels and campsites, and the volume of domestic tourism continues to grow rapidly, especially in the south of the country. It is proved that hotel services markets of various levels including campsites represent an excellent opportunity for hotel operators to confidently enter the Ukrainian market and pursue a policy of expanding their influence in the industry. The dynamics of their development depends on how effectively the hospitality industry representatives will carry out the analysis of the market situation, which will also depend on the composition of participants in the Ukrainian hospitality industry market. The article analyzes Global and Ukrainian markets key camping statistics for 2020, identifies and explores key trends in the camping industry by demographics, best destinations, equipment, types of camping, customer behavior and reasoning, the latest technologies and other indicators. Introducing professionals and experts with the results of the article will contribute to positive changes in the Ukrainian camping market, which will increase the number of investors interested in doing camping business in Ukraine. Ukraine has a huge potential for the development of camping tourism, and the article should be the first step to increase interest in the development of this type of hotel business and prosperity in this niche. Stabilization of the situation with coronovirus throughout the world, as well as in Ukraine, improving the political situation and improving economic indicators, technological progress development and following global trends in the development of the hospitality industry, investment growth in the tourism sector and the reanimation of recreational, protected and natural sites in Ukraine will lead to successful development of campsites in our country. Keywords: camping competitiveness, camping statistics 2020, tourism statistics, hospitality market statistics.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This Project Work looks into the communicational dimension of onedevelopment strategy for rural development through tourism in rural areas ofwestern Serbia. In 2011 the regional Development agency of Uzice -‘Zlatibor’, together with the Camping Association of Serbia started a projectof mini camping sites in the rural areas of western Serbia. The aim was tomeet an unemployment issue by capacitating and empowering locals to takean active part in rural camping tourism. The purpose of this study is todetermine both strengths and weaknesses in the development project from acommunicational point of view. The methods used to gather data in thisresearch are qualitative semi structured interviews and participantobservation. The study examines the presence and/or absence of C4D in thestrategy’s planning and implementation, and considers ways in which astronger and clearer focus on C4D could lead to enhancement of the processof community-based development in the rural area and building of touristcapacities within the local community. The findings of the study indicate thatan unclear responsibility sharing between stakeholders and neglecting of thecommunicational aspect in the planning and implementation of the projectcould lead to an insufficient communication among participants. This lackingcommunication has shown to suppress the full potential of the developmentproject.

Grandfield, Daniel. "Park and recreation : a study of camping opportunities at Prairie Creek Reservoir Muncie, Indiana." Virtual Press, 1989. http://liblink.bsu.edu/uhtbin/catkey/722753.

Abstract:
During this creative project rationale, developed from scientific fact, community needs and the values inherent to the student was utilized as the foundation for decisions associated with the development of a campground facility for Prairie Creek Reservoir. Comprehensive and site specific problem-solving methods were used to form a broad overview of the park and recreation planning and design procedures available to landscape architects. At the comprehensive scale, a survey was conducted to assess the community need for the camping experience. An inventory of existing camping opportunities available to the residents of Delaware County was used, in conjunction with the survey results and recreation standards, in a supply/demand equation to determine the number and the type of camping facilities needed to meet present and future demand for the camping experience. The concept of camping at Prairie Creek Reservoir Park was viewed in this light.Site scale investigations began with the establishment of user and resource criteria. Natural, cultural and economic data were collected from the landscape contained within, and immediately surrounding, the property leased by the Muncie Park Board at the Prairie Creek Reservoir site. This information was analyzed in accordance with the design criteria to produce a series of computer generated maps. The student identified alternative campground sites within the site with the help of these visual aids. The campground site, best meeting the user needs and resource capabilities, was selected and a series of development proposals for the campground facility was prepared.

Abstract:
This article investigates the influence of competition on price and product quality among Austrian camping sites, a market characterized by both horizontal (spatial) and vertical product differentiation. Theoretically, the effect of competition on quality is ambiguous and depends on the degree of cost substitutability between output and quality. Estimating a system of equations shows that intense competition has a positive impact on product quality and a negative effect on prices (conditional on quality). As high quality is associated with high prices, the total effect of competition on prices is rather small.

Abstract:
This thesis contains two studies that explore different methods of visitor management in recreation. The management strategies studied here are both relatively indirect approaches intended to minimize the environmental and social impacts that visitors cause in protected areas. The Annapolis Rocks study focuses on visitors' evaluations of a site management strategy that shifted camping from a flat, open area to constructed side-hill campsites. A visitor questionnaire was administered before and after the treatment to determine visitors' ratings of importance and satisfaction for various campsite attributes. We found some evidence of visitor displacement but concluded that the site management strategy supported the intentions of the managers. The Leave No Trace study evaluates the effectiveness of the Trainer courses in improving the knowledge, ethics, and behavior of the participants and encouraging them to teach others in the community. This study employed pre-course, post-course, and follow-up questionnaires to evaluate the participants' short-term and long-term gains from the course. Trainer course participants showed significant short-term and long-term gains from the course, with a slight decline in the total gain four months after the course. The participants showed improvements in low-impact behaviors, suggesting that education is an effective visitor management strategy. These studies demonstrate that managers can be successful at controlling visitor impacts without relying on stringent regulations and enforcement.

Abstract:
This is a concise but critical biographical sketch of Chaitanya, situating him in his social and cultural environment. The structured narrative deals at length with some of the key episodes concerning both his pre-monastic life and the monastic. These are re-examined in the light of modern critical scholarship. The first half of Chaitanya’s life was spent at Nabadwip, where he provided the inspiration and leadership to a burgeoning religious movement centred on Krishna bhakti. Following his dramatic decision to embrace the life of an ascetic, Chaitanya turned an itinerant saint, travelling through peninsular India and camping at the Vaishnav pilgrim sites of Mathura and Vrindavan. The latter half of his life was spent at Puri where he enjoyed great popularity among the local people as also among his followers from native Bengal who visited him annually at the time of the Rath Yatra celebrations. It was from Puri that Chaitanya gave directions to his followers to launch an evangelizing movement in ethnic Bengal and which was successfully carried out by his most intimate flowers and companions. Mystery surrounds the death of Chaitanya in 1533 and conflicting accounts of this have been examined in some detail.

Abstract:
In line with the approaches already adopted in France during the 90s on various sites where research and/or radium-extraction activities were mostly conducted in the past, the French public authorities wish from now on to pursue their prevention and site-rehabilitation approach inherited from the French craftsman and medical sectors that used that radioelement. As a matter of fact, radium has been in use in several medical activities, notably in the initial methods of cancer therapy. Similarly, it was also used in some craftsman activities, such as the clock industry, for its radioluminescent properties, the fabrication of lightning conductors or cosmetics until the 60s. Those activities have generated various traces of pollution that have remained today. On the basis of the different inventories of industrial sites where radium may have been held or used, and notably the inventory updated by the French Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (Institut de radioprotection et de suˆrete´ nucle´aire – IRSN) in 2007 at the request of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (Autorite´ de suˆrete´ nucle´aire – ASN), French State services have potentially identified 134 sites that hosted radium-related activities in France. The radiological status of those sites is either unknown or very partially known by State services. Sites include both dwellings or commercial premises and derelict lands. The “Radium Diagnosis Campaign” (Operation Diagnostic Radium), consists of a radiological survey carried out by the IRSN. In cases where traces of radium are detected, plans call for the implementation of precautionary measures and of a medical follow-up of the relevant populations. Lastly, radium-contaminated sites are rehabilitated by the French National Radioactive Waste Management Agency (Agence nationale pour la gestion des de´chets radioactifs – Andra). That voluntary and positive approach on the part of public authorities is fully financed by public funds, and consequently, at no cost for the tenants of the premises involved, whether it involves the diagnosis, the individual health follow-up or the rehabilitation. The first diagnosis phase, which focused on the Iˆle-de-France Region (Paris and suburbs), was launched in September 2010. At the end of the year, six sites grouping a total of 40 premises or dwellings had already been fully surveyed. Traces of pollution were detected on 10 of those premises where rehabilitation activities are already under way. So far, that approach has been received favourably by the populations concerned.

Abstract:
As part of the Sectoral Plan for Deep Geological Repositories, three candidate sites are currently examined by a focused geological exploration program in Northeastern Switzerland. The program involves 3D seismic surveys and drilling of at least two deep boreholes at each site. Stress testing is being undertaken with a wireline formation testing tool in each borehole (around 20 stress tests per borehole). Improvements in the toolstring were introduced step by step to sharpen the range of the stress estimates and enable 100% coverage of the desired lithological column. This is the first time that a single toolstring with three packers has been run to perform the complete combination of sleeve fracturing, hydraulic fracturing and sleeve reopening tests. A dedicated stress testing protocol was developed to ensure the most robust estimate of the stress in a large variety of formations. A detailed planning process has been developed to maximize the success rate and coverage of stress test stations, integrating all available information as it becomes available. A review of the techniques enabled by the new toolstring for estimating the closure stress from a stress test, especially in low-permeability formations, is presented, and detailed stress testing examples are provided. Preliminary comparison between the stress estimates for the first two boreholes in the campaign are shown.

In The 11th International Conference on Environmental Remediation and Radioactive Waste Management. ASMEDC, 2007. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/icem2007-7134.

Abstract:
At the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (European commission, Joint Research Centre, IRMM) a dismantling campaign of obsolete installations and glove boxes has been carried out in 2005. There were various reasons for their removal. Some large installations did not meet modern safety standards, other installations were worn out and expected to cause a radioactive contamination risk in the future. The main goal was to create as less waste as possible by extensive contamination checks and by decontamination if necessary. For the glove boxes, decontamination was not possible. A controlled area was set up around the installation to be dismantled in order to prevent spreading of contamination from dust and dirt. This was only possible for the “minor” contaminated installations. The dismantling campaign of the glove boxes was carried out by using tents of two types depending the contamination inside the glove boxes. The most common glove boxes were dismantled in a tent constructed with hard surfaced polycarbonate plates (ventilated cell). For glove boxes with higher contamination, the same principle was used but with a second “glove box tent” inside (ventilated glove tent). The purpose of this project was to learn from the experience of this campaign which gave the ability to make estimates of future radioactive waste or classic waste that could be expected from dismantled installations.

Abstract:
As Ontario expands access to the COVID-19 vaccine beyond the Phase 1 priority populations, strategic planning and execution of mass vaccine rollout will have a significant impact on the health and safety of Ontario’s 14.5 million residents. There are six key elements of Israel’s successful COVID-19 vaccine campaign that can be readily applied to Ontario to expedite and expand the province’s vaccine rollout strategy: a simple vaccine prioritization process; modification to the transport, storage, and distribution of the vaccines; effective communication to promote vaccine confidence; decentralization of vaccination sites; centralized organization through Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) using a fully integrated information technology (IT) system in a universal health care system; and the engagement of community-based personnel, infrastructure, and resources.
