Full textIn the present work, a study of the dynamical response of the macroscopic parameters, density, pressure, and velocity, of the Earths magnetotail, was carried out. The goal of this work was to study the variation of such parameters as a response to the different topologies of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) present in some of the geoeffective solar wind magnetic structures. We used Magnetohydrodynamic simulation in order to approach this problem. The bi-dimensional Magnetohydrodynamic code was originally developed by Ogino et al. (1986), being restricted to the formation of the terrestrial magnetosphere with a stationary IMF. After we performed the necessary modifications in the original code, the magnetospheric dynamics was observed. Based on that, we investigated the response of the different regions of the magnetosphere (specially the magnetotail) to different IMF conditions. Four different configurations of the IMF were analyzed when interacting with the Earth's magnetosphere. Among these different topologies, one could find a representative for a positive shock, i.e, a shock with a positive \textit{B}$_z$, another for a negative shock, i.e, a shock with a negative \textit{B}$_z$, an idealized HILDCAA event with a \textit{B}$_z$ squared fluctuation similar to an Alfvénic one, and, finally, a structure similar to a Magnetic Cloud. The considered changes in the IMF configuration favored the observation of different physical processes. Among these processes, it was possible to observe the formation of the Near-Earth Neutral Line for the IMF configuration representative of a negative \textit{B}$_z$(negative shock). Furthermore, a plasmoid release was observed, which is associated with one of the most dynamics phenomena in the terrestrial magnetosphere: the substorm.

Resumo: : Este trabalho visa a familiarização com o dispositivo MOS- Split Drain através da construção de diferentes configurações geométricas, seguindo as regras da tecnologia CMOS - 0,8 Jl1Tlda AMS (Austria Mikrosysteme International), e de suas respectivas caracterizações elétricas e magnéticas. Medidas realizadas com os diversos protótipos fabricados permitiram a constatação de diversas características divulgadas na literatura e de suas limitações. O aprendizado que resulta deste trabalho é fundamental para o projeto que os pesquisadores do LPM2 - FEEC - UNICAMP ora realizam visando o desenvolvimento de um microsistema para a medição de consumo de energia elétrica
Abstract: This work aims at the familiarization with MOS- Split Drain transistors by constructing and measuring several units of different geometrical configurations, following the AMS (Austria Mikrosysteme International) design roles for CMOS 0.8 mm technology, and by characterizing the electrical and magnetic aspects of this device. Different prototypes were fabricated and measured, which allowed verifying either the validity or discrepancy of some of its properties published in the literature. The learning from this work is fundamental for the project, which is being carried on by researchers from LPM2 -FEEC - UNICAMP that are involved with the development of a novel microsystem for the measurement of electrical energy consumption
