Full textThis work aims to evaluate the effects of psycho-dynamic approach in the context of psychotherapy through clinical interview conducted by a psychologist in an oncological context. At first, we started to test a methodology of experimental research, to rework peer group interviews from the psycho-dynamic psychotherapy in order to define as precisely as possible, the terms of the therapeutic process. Then, on a second time, we worked on the subject's discourse in an oncological surrounding, focusing on its aesthetic aspect and refering to the narrative experience through the clinical method of case studying. These two research methodologies are considered as complementary, each of which provides legitimacy reciprocal perspective in clinical practice. This work should help to argue the interest of proposals for supportive or psychodynamic psychotherapy in medical as well as cancerology departments

Full textThe creation of a group of fathers in maternity wards has met the request of fathers to be who needed to get prepared to the birth of their child, and the institutional project to hear and support the parents operated with the Centre of Psychoanalytical and Medical Research of the UFR Paris 7. As the meetings went by, the almost continual emergence of phantasms of motherhood, often associated with physical symptoms, showed the necessity of this research work on the stakes of such a phantasm. Myths or rites of various origins and individual mythology match each other. Moreover, the echo between phantasms in some of Freud's dreams when he was confronted with fatherhood and those of fathers to be suggests that, far from indicating a pathological behaviour, they belong to the process of accession to fatherhood. The traces of the original intercourse and of the child sexual theories are rekindled when they expect a child, who represents a narcissistic promise pregnant with wishes of immortality, but also a rival. These modifications take place according to the history and identifications of each one. The phantasms of motherhood put one to the test of human knowledge on our origins, on the differences between the sexes and on the power women have to give birth. Thus, men also question their woman alter ego on what themselves are not and never will be. It turns out that the speaking space the father to be is offered helps the working out of his near paternity. This space entitles him to express his own part of femininity and his finiteness, both being a source of disturbing strangeness and, sometimes, of severe disorders. It allows afterwards to free words that could not have come out within the private space of the couple. It works in favour of the creation of a space through which the father can be with the mother without replacing her and welcome the child. As a father, biological of not, he is called to recognize the child to come as his. His very presence in the group already indicates his "being a father"

Full textThe aim of this study is to model the activity of program understanding by experts in programming. This activity is studied in the framework of the schema theory. This theory is set out according to its use in text understanding and program understanding. Some differences between these domains are stressed. The experimental studies on program understanding are synthesized : some results interpretable in the theoretical framework are emphazised. Three experiments have been conducted. Their goal is the analysis of the types of knowledge and the processes involved in program understanding. In a first experiment, some observations are collected on the activity developed by experts in a debugging task. Different strategies are identified. They involved differents types of activities among which a task-oriented understanding activity. The second experiment allows to analyze the evoked knowledge and the representation constructed in an early phase of the realization of a debugging task. In a third experiment, an experimental paradigm have been developed : it allows to collect information, in real time, about the hypotheses elaborated and evaluated by experts during program understanding. A program is presented, one instruction at a time, and the subjects have to express hypotheses about the program at each new presented instruction. The analysis of verbal protocols allows to describe some schemata possessed by experts and the processes of schema activation and evaluation. These schemata are identified in two knowledge domains : the task domain and the programming domain. The evaluation process used by the subjects in order to judge the coherence of the constructed representation is also described. A model of program understanding is developed. The explicative and predictive values of the model and its generalization to others classes of situations are discussed in the conclusion

Full textThe thesis analyzes the psychological impact of cancer at adolescence on self representation (commitment-orientation, identity values) and self-esteem. A comparative study with an adolescent control group is conducted. The major axis of this work concenrs the study of coping with illness. The hypothesis is that coping is determined by self aspects, especially self-esteem. A direct link was expected between the increase of this self-regard and degree of coping. Sex differences appear in results for the clinical population, girls are weakened by illness and coping processes are less utilized. Boys possess a more direct emotional management which is represented by problemfocalisation : the problem-focused coping is significantly correlated with self-esteem. It seems there may be a differenciation in resources and determinisms of coping facing emotional distress. Lastly, to highlight coping processes particular to adolescents, a comparison is effected with cancerous adults. The cognitivo-0emotional and psychosocial maturaration favour other coping processes in adults, more adapted to their social role. In short, coping processes reflect differentical socialization of emotions according to sex but equally according to social role and status. This study deepens the innovating concept of coping as a general process of emotional regulation, but also in so far as a developmental process for which adolescence is a particularly privileged and active period

And what connections are there between knowledge referring to a professionnal fiel and skills to communicate on things and events belongin to this professionnal fiel? The research presented here fits in with professionnal didactic that can be defined as a process of psychological analysis of the work in order to work out plans or situations of training. The research relies on the theory of knowledge sudied by vergnaud and widely resorts to the logical theory of speech acts and the works on verbal interactions. The analysis of the reception clerk's work in garages relies on an empirical material composed of the transcriptions of 353 registered dialogues corresponding to the activities of 19 subjects. The results show that the reception clerk is at the interface between on one hand the customer and on the other hand the workshop. This entitles a double skills, a technical one and a commercial one learnt on the site. There are relations between the skills those technicians of origine have put together to diagnose, repair and the pragmatic skills they have developped to listent, to question, to understand, to explain and to give arguments. Skills are structured round the use of two conceptuel fields, the one of the workshop, formed by human and technical habilities and restraints the reception clerk has and the other of the customer

After meeting with difficulties in different areas : somatical and psychologicol, they have become candidates for the fiv and frequently for several trials. The following question is unavoidable : why does this prospect of maternity put a woman in ill at ease ? It would seem that there is an interaction with their become in a woman. The oedipal history when they were little girls sheds light on our understanding of their desir to have children, because it is specific. We witness a real processus socialisation for this desir to have children. The phallic presomption would seem to be an essential aspect of their problems. This presomption come to the fore in a creativity with has different outlets (the writing, stained- glass. . . . ). For many of these women. Full textThis investigation is grounded on the following idea: as regards the implementation of research based innovations, teachers are not passive transmitters, and there are some general trends in the way they transform the proposed teaching strategies. This thesis deals with the particular case of elementary optics at grade 8 in france, a syllabus launched at national level in 1993. Four sets of data -interviews before teaching, logbooks, assessment tasks and video recorded class observations - lead to converging conclusions. In particular, the great importance of practical devices is shown, as vehicles for pedagogical strategies: if these devices are classical, they entail ways of doing that are classically linked to these devices, and therefore they contribute to blocking innovative strategies in teachers. If they are innovative, they seem to foster the actual introduction of the suggested new ways of teaching. More generally, the + seeing is enough to understand ; perpective seems to have inspired a large part of teachers' actions - planning of sessions, assessment tasks, actions in class - and comments in interviews. The focus on + reasonned experimentation ; presented by the conceptors as a major focus of the syllabus, leave a non negligible fraction of teachers on their initial position, that is an emphasis on showing and classifying objects more than analysing the underlying concepts and laws. This investigation shows, with some examples analysed in detail, that the very understanding of concepts is affected, beyond a global + view on science ;. These conclusions suggest the interest of extending such research to others topics and provide some hints on how to design innovations with maximised chances of appropriate implementation by teachers

Full textThis is an attempt to demonstrate through the oral and written utterances of children and adolescents in a mental day-hospital and focusing the father question how the singular experience of invanity in its disturbing aspect spreads out across the field of discursive reasoning. The theoretical approach which is of an interdisciplinary nature (it involves communication theories, utterance linguistics, pragmatics, the psychoanalytical viewpoint, freud and lacan, forays into literature with modernity texts and into the world of myths with greek tragedy) allows to keep up-to-date records of the stages of division and tension characterizing the functioning of the producer of psychotical utterances. The psychotic narrator is not entirely alienated from the other's desire (the father's despotic power) but he keeps struggling (at the level of signifiers in his language and of the process of transference) into or out of a subject's or a subjected one's position. The major problem he comes up against lies in his inability to create a long-term singularity bearing the impregnable stamp of his own identity. The actual narrator cannot be identified due to the muddling up of both voices. The linguistic drift of the psychotic being (as a flight from persecution) might result in his fading out as a narrator. The difficulty in bringing himself out as a subject alive and desiring, the failure to resort to a symbolic system, the lack of (sexual) difference point out the devastating effects of the father's debarment on the child's personality

Full textThe adult education system in Québec receives more and more young people from 16 to 24 years old who wish to complete the final courses at the elementary school level in order to acquire the level necessary to allow them to have access to high school. The path of these students is marked by grade repetition and by difficult psychosocial situations that generally lead them to think they are less able to learn. However, according to Freire (1982), all human beings are able to learn from their own experiences, and according to Piaget (1964), human beings are born with the cognitive capacity of adaptation and organization, the very mechanisms that allow for the constant construction of intelligence. Accordingly, the aim of this research is to try to awaken the consciousness of the creative and intellectual capacity in young Quebeckers who have been excluded from regular schooling and who have enrolled in adult education. From five individual free-drawing sessions with six participants, we seek to achieve consciousness of a role reversal of the teacher and student during a creative and reflexive activity. The explicitness of free-drawing was made possible thanks to a semi-structured interview protocol validated by previous studies (Stoltz Schleder, 1992; Teixeira, 2008). The participants produced and interpreted for themselves their drawings, transposing the different functions of intelligence and consciousness (Piaget, 1964, 1967). Results point to progress in the path to consciousness of their creative, intellectual and speech capacities. We address the complexity of intelligence by linking the cognitive, affective, social, ethical and moral aspects. The wealth of data expressed in their drawings and in their comments shows that the method used was effective to engage the complexity of intelligence. We concluded by emphasizing the importance of the recognition of the different aspects of intelligence in the scholar and also the importance of social inclusion from the students enrolled in adult education. Finally, the results of this study lead to a critical examination of the phenomena of labeling, over-diagnosis, and the abuse of psychotropic drugs (Monzée, 2010; Swenson, 2013) in relation to the importance of recognizing their intelligence.

Full textThis research intends to link the description and the comprehension of domestic violence and the clinical approach. Three main axis constitute the clue of this thesis: the study of domestic violence itself, the study of violent partners and the observation of the evaluation interviews in which they took part. Analysing the interviews we found out that domestic violence fulfilled several functions whether within the couple or in the psychical functionement of the patients. Among the personality traits found by a majority of the violent partners we met we could note a deficiency of psychical elaboration, a need for control and domination, a weak regard of themselves and an intolerance with frustration. The first consultations make it possible for the violent partners to leave the refusal of their acts and constitute the first step of a therapeutic relation favourable to a change

Full textIn the present study we only take interest to underground, and independant films and directors a motion picture film exists as a result of cutting. By deleting some scenes and assembling others into a desired sequence, most of the time the director got his film. When suddenly the film is going through a sequence to another, we ordinary say there is a cut. At this particuliar place stands what we call here a mental image. We present here an analysis, in a sociological way, of these mental impressions. From the data we got through the latter analysis, we organized our results and compared them with data and results we obtained from the observation of the common and domestic life. At last, questionning the two parts of our study, we can define our new manners of thinking, of acting, and simply of being, as Emile Durkheim did two hundred years ago

Full textInstead of approaching the topic based on preestablished theoretical knowledge, we consider it as a heuristic element of our research. Therefore we grant to the adolescent subject, author of sexual aggression, the faculty to discern the knowledge, to point out to us the obstacles. Successively psychoanalytical psychopathology anti criminology convene, are interrogated, and put to the test view of our topic. Thus the objective of our research is twofold : On the one hand, interest is focussed on the discourses which act as determinants according to common societal representation, and those defined by scientific discourse. We seek the ontological and epistemological coordinates which enable us to describe the criminal individual. On the other hand, we seek to update - with a group of sample subjects – those indicators that underline the heterogeneity inherent in the criminal subject. In order to account for the dual dynamics which underlie the recourse to action in the adolescent subjects, equally propelled by the psychological labour of puberty and the process of the criminal act, we put forth the hypothesis that the act of sexual aggression falls. Under a / is inscribed by a particular, serial dynamic. Bioscopic analysis and analysis of the chain of delinquency give the act its specificity (sense and function) within the course of pubertarian formation. Our methodology is directly based on the psychocriminological model of L. M. Villerbu, and consists of studying 20 subjects who have in common the sexual character of their act, irregardless of’ their type of modus operandi. Our work focussed on the transference and counter-transference coordinates of the encounter, as much as the thus collected specifics of the discourse. The produced clinical analyses made it possible to update four distinct psychic economies which result in just as many approaches to the psychological labour of puberty : four scenarios which underline the necessary dynamics of this research, four modalities of rapport to the self, to the other anal to the sexual, and just as many profiles in adolescent authors of sexual aggression. This heterogeneity necessitates that we adapt and individualise therapy in order to reach a level of reflection beyond the singularity of the act, and thereby avoid the misadventures of contemporary social stigmatization of sexual criminality

Full textThis research questions the functionality of violent acting out from the complex and circular assembly of the internal aspects (comprehended with regard to the concept of mental vulnerability) and the external aspects (from the concept of event) in the processual dynamics of violent acting out. This work concerns 36 male subjects, placed in the hands of justice. The modelling of the research subject is based on a review of multidisciplinary literature. Methodology is elaborated from the theoretical concepts developed, and made operational using the structure of a battery of tools : Rorschach, KAPP, MORS, EVE and EEDyPC. In accordance with our complex modelling, differents levels of results are explored : mental vulnerability and its assembly with events, and the processual dynamics of acting out by the highligting of five differential categories and the functionality of behaviour. The latter are declined in the form of discharge anti-depressive, sadized trophic narcissistic functionalities which correspond, on an internal mental homeostasis level, to the functions of imbalance avoidance and the restoring of intra mental balance. The limits and the theoretical and pragmatic contributions of this research are discussed. New research perspectives and concrete applications in clinical situation are envisaged

Full textIt is a major challenge to understand how linguistic activity is organized in broad and multicultural working collectives. This form of professional life mobilizes every day several million people in various existing international institutions. It is necessary to construct tools that facilitate interaction and work in this type of social systems. To achieve this, we need to uncover the interactional mechanisms which control these practices. My research is guided by this perspective. I study the linguistic activity realized in the development of an expert opinion in a Consultative Assembly of the European Union, the Economic and Social Committee (C. E. S. ). I describe this activity as a language game as Wittgenstein conceived it, namely as an event which is not controllable at the theoretical level because of its uniqueness. Proceeding within the theoretical framework of Interlocutionary Logic, I propose a device of analysis which makes it possible to explore this language game and to uncover some of its constitutive features

Full textThe killing of a child cannot be understood outside the bonds of kinship or moral codes in force in a given society. It will not, also, go without understanding the status and importance given to a child or the representation of the individual within a given community. To address the issue of infanticide (as an act morally and criminally wrong), it seemed essential to look at the entanglement of individual and social issues surrounding the act. Mauritius has been an example for our study in comparison with the phenomenon of infanticide which is on the increase. Our observations led us to conclude that infanticide seems to be – on an intrapsychic note - the effect of displacement for the mother, underpinned by the imperative "it's me or him"; in addition, the movement takes shape at a broader level as it could also concern the societal context. The killing of a child would therefore be something to seize control of as both an intimate and social regulation, underpinned by a shift of conflict issues. Mother’s positions around deaths of children would thus be understood as being in conformity with the implicit expectations of the local society and its "microspheres". The effectiveness of sanctions is discussed and in particular issues concerning denial of women imprisoned following the murder of their child. These themes lead us to address the difference between criminal liability and accountability issues and the need for satisfying accompaniment therapeutic purposes and accountability

Full textAfter a great amount of research on translation, this thesis emphasizes a new approach of the process. It does not aim at assessing the mere possibility of translating or the correctness of a given translation. Its goal is to determine the mechanisms at work in the process of translating. The study is based on eight French translations, made over a huge period of time, of one original text, the Lazarillo de Tormes. In the translations, recurrent variations from the original, due neither to linguistic constraints nor to characteristics of the Spanish text, allow to describe the principles lying at the core of the translating process: correction, clarification, interpretation and understatement. These four principles form the basis of the "orthonymic" approach, which reconstructs such a text as might have been written in the target language, regardless of the characteristics of the source. In this way, the translator does not try to translate the text, but the representation it suggests, thus focusing on objects instead of words. One the one hand, this representation is seldom unique or all encompassing: on the other, it is also triggered by every reader's own experience. Thus, the translator often conveys his or her reading rather than the text itself. The representation suggested by the text, once translated, is in fact a combination of elements present in the original, and of elements added by the translator. Among the latter, some reflect the linguistic practices of his/her group, and others, his/her individual experience. According to the respective importance of the ones and the others, the translated text shows the various levels of appropriation by the translator. Eventually, the notion of appropriation is the cornerstone of the translating process: it makes it possible to differentiate what deserves the status of translation from what rather corresponds to adaptation

Full textSince the early twentieth century, natural outdoor and adventure settings have been used in education and psychosocial intervention (Gass, Gillis, & Russell, 2012; Miles & Priest, 1999; Russell & Hendee, 2000; Tucker & Norton, 2013). Predominantly utilized by groups with educational and therapeutic aims, some effects on individuals taking part in those programs with personal and interpersonal plans have been reported, notably on selfperception (Whittington, 2006), self-efficacy (Ronalds & Allen-Craig, 2008; Török, Kökönyei, Károlyi, Ittzés, & Tomcsányi, 2006), social skills and leadership (Sibthorp, 2003; Stott & Hall, 2003). These effects demonstrate the relevance of this type of intervention. Certain underlying elements of reported effects have been identified, such as the importance of the group in the experience of participants (Deane & Harré, 2014; Scheinfeld, Rochlen, & Buser, 2011), but there is much left to be understood about the group’s place in natural outdoor and adventure experiences. Considered to allow in-depth examination of operating processes in groups, the Helping Factors model developed by Yalom et Leszcz (2005) provides a conceptual framework that is open to possibility. Defining the processes acting within a group as underlying the individual benefits taken away by members, this conceptual framework permits an understanding of what participants encounter in experiences in natural outdoor and adventure settings. Conducted with 23 college students, this qualitative research aims to identify the active Helping Factors in an educational program that takes place in natural outdoor and adventure settings. This general objective can be broken down into two specific objectives: 1) To identify which Helping Factors emerge in group interventions in experiences in natural outdoor and adventure settings; and (2) to determine their relative importance, according to the perspectives of the participants. The results obtained demonstrate a strong presence of the majority of the Helping Factors proposed by Yalom and Leszcz (2005). Interpersonal Learning, Development of Socializing Techniques and Cohesiveness are found to be among the most important. Secondarily, Altruism, Imitative Behavior and Imparting Information are found. Of lesser importance are Corrective Recapitulation of the Primary Family Group, Catharsis, Hope and Existential Factors. The relative importance of different Helping Factors could be attributable to the educational nature of the group and the absence of problems experienced by the participants. The results equally indicate that the fact of being in nature, of carrying out activities that require personal coping strategies and experimenting with challenge and success through risk-taking have a catalytic effect on the occurrence of Helping Factors. These results resonate with elements that are already recognized in programs implemented in the context of natural outdoor and adventure settings, such as experimenting with challenge and success through risk-taking, adaptive dissonance and the relationships between stakeholders and members of the group (McKenzie, 2003; Panicucci, 2007; Priest, 1999a; Russell & Phillips-Miller, 2002). The choice of Helping Factors as an analytical framework brings new light to the central position that the group occupies in interventions in natural outdoor and adventure settings. In this sense, the results of this thesis are breaking new ground. Within the literature, few links have been made between Helping Factors and interventions in natural outdoor and adventure settings (Gass et al., 2012; Williams, 2000). Furthermore, studies on Helping Factors have been predominantly carried out in traditional intervention environments and with clinical and adult populations (Shechtman, 2003; Shechtman, Bar-el, & Hadar, 1997; Yalom & Leszcz, 2005), whereas this doctoral study focuses on young adults in natural outdoor and adventure settings. This thesis demonstrates that Helping Factors can occur within different conditions, pointing to possible future avenues of research in social work.

Full textThis thesis deals with the therapeutic routes of disease in the Gabon concerning particularly the people affected by cancer. Its main objective is to analyze the route of the sick cancer patients in Gabon to understand their observed therapeutic wandering. Through this thesis, it will also be a question of analyzing, downstream, the weaknesses of the care of this disease in the structures of care approved in the Gabon. Medical cover, who is there to grants a weak importance for the human dimension. It will thus be necessary in this thesis to deal with, on one hand, a epistemic-clinical evaluation of the disease in particular the outstanding body, its psychic and somatic expressions, and on the other hand, an understanding of the plural progress of care or the therapeutic strategies of cancer, in its intercultural propping up. The private hospital is called questioned here by a subjective experience of break, compatible with the necessities and the historic contingencies of the subject which registrer, alter all, the therapeutic route in the social link. Yet the analysis of the subjects shows better, that these routes make link with the trauma engendered by the disease and its consequences. Indeed, patients are in search of sense, they want to understand and to give a meaning to the advent which they cross. As they could not find answers with the upholders of the modern medicine in Gabon, they turn to alternative therapies, (traditional medicine, therapeutic churches) which draw their efficiency from the consideration of the man in its entirety, from the faiths of the sick and from the symbolic value of the disease and the cure. The systematic appeal to traditional or religious therapies which often do not obey the hygienic rules of bases, are a real danger for the sick who return to hospital, for 70 % of cases, to the very advanced stages of the disease making any favourable forecast impossible. It would thus be important, for a better care, to take into account these various aspects which also participate in treatments. That is why, we propose an analysis of the personal experience of the cancerous patients in their therapeutic routes (sometimes brought into conflict) in an environment where up to here, by insisting on the trauma of the cancer as the starting point of these routes. It will be a question of even, more concretely, in a phenomenological and psychoanalytical perspective, the real-life experience of the cancer and the links (intra-psychic) were put in practice in the various therapeutic choices. This thesis brings elements of understanding of the therapeutic route of the cancer patients in Gabon. It recommends the recognition of human dimension in the offering of care and the necessity of recognizing the place of the psychology within such plan

Full textThe teenagers approached in this study are placed in a Social Youth Center. To extricate the adolescent from any negative representations he may feel or of which he is the object in this particular context, due both to this affectation and of a Weak parental authority, we apprehend him neither through experienced failures nor those reminded to him, but through his own personal resources. To achieve this, we invite him towards a progression through pictorial creation and the encounter of the art world, followed by a personal production of wide dimensions and its public exhibition. Photographies of works taken at each step of their realization, enables to follow and assess the process of their making and the progression of their creator. This study is completed by a focus towards understanding the personality of each youth through series of expression tests (Rey’s Figure, AT9 and Rorschach). The search for discernment and aesthetic judgment brings the adolescent to a necessary adjustment between his own individual world and other artistic sensibilities. From this confrontation emerge images which might stimulate and widen his capacity of expression and representation of experienced time, at the same time that they participate in a process of personal evolution

Full textOur study aims to identify the reality and essence of motherhood and the causes of its disaster which is supposed to be a source of happiness. Through the history of motherhood, we reinvestigate the idealization and myth of motherhood, and we assert that maternal love is not as old as we believe in general. In this study of the formation of femininity, desire and its mechanisms, we point out that women's acceptance of motherhood has been made on the basis of unconscious assumptions on the desire and jouissance of women. Woman builds a relationship with his child with her way of jouissance with him or her. Drawing on psychoanalytic theory since Freud, we examine the meaning of child for mother and the ways and structures ir which their relationship forms. We conclude that the child is a paradoxical object who plays various roles in relation to the mother. In motherhood, not only love but also what may be called hatred operate in several ways. Observing clinical cases in the society of South Korea, we illuminate some structural psychopathological phenomena that occur at the intersection of maternai love and narcissistic fantasy, along with special features of the hyper-competitive society. Some cases deviating from the normal part of motherhood reveal how maternal love without self-restraint leads to destroying the relationship between mother and child and their being

Full textTraditionally, in the field of international human rights it's been established the granting of refugee status as a solution to a situation of persecution and violation of rights experienced in the "here and now". Instead of designing the above recognition as an end in itself, we propose throughout this investigation to question the effects in the psychic organization of a refuge applicant, while receiving its status and commiting in a proces of placement to start it's life again. If the refuge is normally considered a safe and protective place, a darker and menacing dimension seems however hidden. The refuge is thus perceived as ambivalent object. It can as much save one from death, that trigger an irreversible rupture in respect of the land left and sentence him to an uprooting of himself. Far from being a solution, the choice of exile raises the question of the nomadic condition of any subjet whose origin is a fiction of itself; the strangeness awakened by this movement of deterritorialization can be experienced in some like poison for the condition of desiring. Our goal throughout this investigation is to demonstrate how the possibilities to develop and thematize violence experienced during exile go through the encounter between the political and the psychic dimensions; where an economic refugee moral sphere is created as a way of negotiation, resistance and suffering due to inhabit the egdes of politics

Full textRehabilitation aspects about people with severe head injury are described in a study of 72 cases. The study took place in a rehabilitation center (Centre médico-universitaire D. Douady, St Hilaire du Touvet in France). Five years after the initial traumatism the patients are assessed through a sixty items study : professionnal, social, family status are assessed in association with classical caracteristic features of this population. Connotations of death directly appear among them. They way coma and post-traumatic amnesia are taken into account from classical psychoanalytic models especially in its concept of aggressiveness (violence fondamentale). The duality of this concept seems particulary judicious for elaboration of an appropriate conception : the instinct of survival stating on the dynamic anaclisis of libido, the good outcome of which constitutes creativity. The primary composante of survival instincts propounds an approach of what cannot be voiced during coma and post-traumatic amnesia. The function of anaclisis of libidinal pulsion, as a leader to creativity, (of which people with severe head injury are deprived) gives access to the analysis of the difficulties of outcome. Because of the sudden breaking of protective shield during traumatism the instinctual upsurge of aggressiveness (violence fondamentale) is alone. It is issued in the structural working out of post-traumatic personnality in its diachronic movement. The interaction between the imaginary of people with severe head injury and environmental models allows to negociate matricid and infanticid through secondarized representations

Full textOver the last decades, major progresses have been realized in oncogenetics. This medical activity based on scientific advances in molecular genetics predicts cancer risk. However, no deleterious mutation is detected by BRCA1/2 genetic testing for the majority (80 %) of women who suffer from either breast or ovarian cancer. Under this condition, the result is considered as “inconclusive” although there remains an increased risk for developing breast and/or ovarian cancer. The failure to identify a mutation in a diagnostic test does not rule out the existence of a predisposing factor. Surveillance should be pursued for both the patients and their families. In association with genetic counselors of the region Rhône-Alpes, we considered useful to address the question of information delivery in the context of an inconclusive result. We investigated on one hand the benefit from a written document delivered to patients upon the appointment, and on the other hand the usefulness of a disclosure session. We also investigated how patients experienced the oral information given during the counsel session. Therefore, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 88 women while 172 women answered a questionnaire. The observations demonstrate : - a written document, summarizing the oral information delivered by the oncologist, is useful for patients with an inconclusive result; - a disclosure session is absolutely necessary to announce the inconclusive result; - the presence of a “paradox” when the inconclusive result is delivered as a negative one, increasing the degree of comprehension of information more difficult

Full textNarrators of life stories we have studied are persons with a behavior problem because they have been involved in recurring risky situations. Everyone of these narrators (a drug addict, an anorexic-bulimic and a delinquent) have been interviewed by different psychiatrists for research purposes. These life stories tend to reveal a coherence of the events experienced by the narrator. Beyond this coherence (or "directional temporality"), these narratives have been mainly characterized - by the fact they are relevant (full of explanations) - and by the atmosphere (or "affective temporality") which emerges from them. In order to emphasize these aspects, we have selected in every interview a certain amount of significant extracts (according to our opinion) describing a similar dominant affective temporality. These temporalities have emerged (1) from the comparison of the contents evocated distantly in the informant's language, (2) from certain characteristics of discursive movements conveying those contents. To be able to define these moves, we above all tried to account for the blend created by the different sub-genuses going from a "pure" narrative pole to a more explicite and/or evaluating pole. In these interviews, the narration of the events, the interpretation (explanation, justification) of these same events and the temporality (in its "directional" dimension and in its "affective" dimension) have appeared tightly but differently linked. This link, as a way of speach (or "style") has allowed the informants narrative "self" to be characterized. Therefore this "narrative self" has shown itself above all in the dicursive movements made by the subject in regard to the other language or in relation with his own language

Full textIn a context where the landscape has become of major social concern, beyond the solely esthetic question of places of life, this thesis seeks to understand how landscape can create a feeling of membership of a territory. The landscape is considered as a paradigm of mediation between the territory and the society that inhabits it. To carry out this research, we retained the area of Vic-Bihl, located in south-western France, at the limits of the departments Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées and Gers. This border territory with a maked rural character, which accomodates an AOC (Regulated Wine of Origin) wine production zone in full revival, nevertheless does not present landscapes considered as spectacular, in spite of a singular and typified landscape variety. In addition, the Vic-Bihl -historically the "Old-Country" or Vecus Vetullus -does not own a recognized political-administrative existence, thus arousing the difficulté of seizing a membership feeling. The interest of this doctoral work concerns the grasp of the landscape-identity relationship through the installation of a model that invites to and articulates the concepts of territory, territorialisation and territoriality in order to "decomplexify" this relation. As for to analyse this role of the landscape as and aid and a vector of both a collective and an individual identity, we have mobilized various tools such as tourism imagery and literary work to approach the register of shared identity. Combined with those tools, semi-directing discussion enabled us to collect the talk of inhabitants with the objective to clarify the landscapes of expressed identity and to reveal a well-tried landscape identity

Full textTeaching music in school academies has always been a recurrent issue. Is art meant to serve the learners' purpose or conversely, do learners have to comply to the rules of art ? There seems to be no clearcut decision that could close this debate. Since they have to face such a contradiction, learners, teachers and institution seem to be in a paradoxical and antinomic position which makes it hard to settle the matter. How can they solve such a dilemma ? With this aim in view, we will question music itself, using a play on words about the "säs" of music, something between the sense and the essence of music. We will study the sense of music through its three different meanings: its very meaning as regards language, its perspective as regards sociology, its sensation as regards phenomenology. Will this research, by giving some meaning to music, enable us unravel the paradoxical situations generated by music ? In a second part, we will attempt to get as close as possible to music by laying its sound on paper exactly like the written form (le säs) which perfectly renders the music heard in the words "sense" and "essence". For this purpose, we will translate the recording of a piano lesson into a score and we will attempt to reveal what is being woven between a teacher and his pupil. How do these two persons hear the music through the song of the piano ? And finally, we will unexpectedly find out that the musician's paradox can be solved through the practice of improvisation, thein-between, essential to expression and interpretation. In a sense, the essence of music might be hidden in the dephs of improvisation?

This study links the necessary psychological separation with the social uses of bilingualism. 1- A questionnaire is proposed to 294 Lebanese students in a French speaking school who constitute the population of our study. It validates the existence of this phenomenon and describes its characteristics. 2-A second phase of the study is constituted by research interviews and establish a relation between the quality of the language and the family, the emotions, the conflicts, the puberty; they prove language to be an identity marker. We develop six of them in a longitudinal approach. 3-A transversal analysis of the others reveals the place of code switching in the discursive strategy of the bilinguals and the forms that they give to their mixing. The psycho-affective interactive aims and psychological functions appears (language as a pare-exciter, a defence, a skin, a transitional apparatus). 4-A clinical approach shows that listening to code switching in a bilingual therapy gives important indications of what’s going beneath

They generally show an impact on light estimation, cognitive performance, mood and behaviours but this type of research is generally conducted in indoor artificial lighting. Very few focus on outdoor night lighting except Hanyu (1997) who examined relationship between two sets of variables: visual properties and affective appraisals in night time neighbourhood experience. Our main purpose was to examine how people evaluate the outdoor night lighting. We sought to find out people's expectations of the various functions of urban lighting, to know what criteria they use to evaluate a good lighting. In this study, we expected that individuals and contextual factors as age, gender, length of time spent living in a given area and localization would influence the evaluation of the functionality and quality of lighting, and the evaluation of quality of life
