Abstract:
We discuss the unitarily-represented supersymmetric canonical commutation relations which are subsequently used to canonically quantize massive and massless chiral, antichiral and vector fields. The canonical quantization shows some new facets which do not appear in the nonsupersymmetric case. Our tool is the supersymmetric positivity generating the Hilbert–Krein structure of the N = 1 superspace.

In this article, we give a Galois-theoretic characterization of the canonical theta structure. The Galois property of the canonical theta structure translates into certain p-adic theta relations which are satisfied by the canonical theta null point of the canonical lift. As an application, we prove some 2-adic theta identities which describe the set of canonical theta null points of the canonical lifts of ordinary abelian varieties in characteristic 2. The latter theta relations are suitable for explicit canonical lifting. Using the theory of canonical theta null points, we are able to give a

AbstractWe analyze argument structure of whole-entity and handling classifier predicates in four sign languages (Russian Sign Language, Sign Language of the Netherlands, German Sign Language, and Kata Kolok) using parallel datasets (retellings of the Canary Row cartoons). We find that all four languages display a systematic, or canonical, mapping between classifier type and argument structure, as previously established for several sign languages: whole-entity classifier predicates are mostly used intransitively, while handling classifier predicates are used transitively. However, our data sets

Gamma-tubulin is a conserved component of microtubule-organizing center (MTOC) and functions in microtubule nucleation in vivo. Recent studies suggest that gamma-tubulin might have additional roles in microtubule organization. For example, the deletion of DSYL domain at the acidic unstructured C-terminal of Tub4 abrogates the Kar9-dependent pathway for spindle positioning. In vivo, gamma-tubulin is modulated via phosphorylation and the tyrosine 445 residue was found to be one of the phosphorylation sites of Tub4. In addition, the phospho-mimetic mutation (tub4-Y445D) causes defects in chromoso

Eukaryotic ribosomal DNA constitutes a multi gene family organized in a cluster called nucleolar organizer region (NOR); this region is composed usually by hundreds to thousands of tandemly repeated units. Ribosomal genes, being repeated sequences, evolve following the typical pattern of concerted evolution. The autonomous retroelement R2 inserts in the ribosomal gene 28S, leading to defective 28S rDNA genes. R2 element, being a retrotransposon, performs its activity in the genome multiplying its copy number through a “copy and paste” mechanism called target primed reverse transcription. It

Abstract:
Nose cones, turbine blades and bearings have rotating components and represent very practical geometries for which the modal behavior of vortex structures is not completely understood. These three rather different physical cases are being studied. A common theme of competition between modes and vortex types, whether counter-rotating or co-rotating, emerges. The objective of ongoing work is to obtain physical confirmation, enhanced understanding and predictive capability for the vortex structures encountered in rotating machines.
