A comparative analysis of the remote sensing data, obtained by spacecrafts “Canopus-V” and “Aist-2D”, in terms of determining their actual spatial resolution – the smallest linear size of the terrain object that can be transmitted by the image. Within the researches of studied space imagery structural transfer properties the calculations of their general and local contrast for different types of underlying surface were performed. In particular, it was shown, that despite the smaller ground sampling interval (GSI), images, obtained by “Aist-2D”, are comparable in their structural transfer chara

The paper presents the vegetation thematic classification of the Burla banded pine forest carried on using "Canopus-V" remote sensing data and the supervised classification technique by a spectral angle mapper. Areas of selected elements have been assessed: 1. Pine forests, 2. Birch forests; 3. Meadows; 4. Anthropogenic objects (roads, etc.); 5. Agricultural lands; 6. Water objects. Sites of anthropogenic disturbed forests are identified according to remote sensing data. The results show that the data obtained in the classification by a spectral angle can be used to compile geobotanical maps,

Heracleion and Canopus were towns recorded in Classical sources about the Nile delta. Surveys near Alexandria in 1996 found ruins poking through the sands under four or five fathoms of murky water. Revealing complexes of temples, excavation then confirmed that these were the remains of Heracleion and the eastern part of Canopus, dating from the Late Dynastic era. The discoveries show how Greek traders had settled, and how the towns then thrived, after Alexander the Great's conquest (332 BC), during the Hellenistic or Ptolemaic period. There are two, near-monochromatic resonances (at approximately 2.0 and 2.5 mHz) and both show latitudinal peaks in amplitude with an approximately 180 degree latitudinal phase shift across the maximum. Most critics do not regard it as SF per se, treating it instead as a kind of intellectually demanding and sophisticated psycho-drama. This psychologically-oriented reading is suggested in part by the resemblance between Briefing and R.D. Laing’s accounts of schizophrenia and by Lessing’s own reluctance to identify what she believes its genre to be. Zij al-Sultani was written by Ulugh Beg in 1437 AD , that is a connection with the constellation catalog in the medieval century after the book of Fix Stars by al-S?ufi. This star catalog contains comparisons in addition to several stars that are not indexed inside the book of Fixed Star. It is far known that there are twenty-seven stars updated by Ulugh Beg in Zij al- Sult?a?ni. One of the twenty-seven stars is used to determine the direction of the Qibla for some areas of Islam. The Andalusians used Canopus, a member of the constellation Carina, to determine the direction of the Qibla. In th

The possibility of using publicly available software and a satellite map to determine the extent of vegetation coverage has been studied. It is suggested to apply an express method for determining the proportion of a green area from the total area with an average error for P=0.95 12.4±3.25% using the GIMP software (G-pel method). To assess the reliability of the method, similar results obtained by the overlay grid technique were compared with those of determining the forest cover of the Volga region cities using neural networks with satellite images made by a group of Canopus-V satellites. Natural features and history of developing the area under study are considered, the results of field research and visual analysis of remote information are given; it enabled interpreting features of irrigated soils and the nature of using agricultural fields. Basing on the developed characteristics, a remote image was classified. The classification proc

Planners of a crewed mission to the Moon should have confidence in reliability of radiation dose estimations. In the absence of proton events during solar minimum the absorbed dose to the crew crossing the magnetosphere will be contributed primarily by protons and electrons of the inner and outer radiation belts of Earth, respectively. It is necessary to examine whether the existing electron forecast model is good enough for this purpose. The paper describes our efforts to model the radiation environment of RADOM onboard Chandrayaan 1 launched to the Moon on 22.10.2008, including the vehicle d

The dynamic range and radiometric resolution are among the most important indicators of aerial and space images’ fine quality. Gradation properties are of particular importance for aerial and space images, obtained for monitoring and mapping purposes, because the completeness and quality of the information on the earth’s surface objects depend on them, the accuracy of brightness features reproduction of earth’s surface objects. The author discusses various approaches to defining the concepts of dynamic range and radiometric resolution; the most proper definitions of these terms are given in th
