Abstract:
This research studied quantitative investing strategies of famous investors in the Stock Exchange of Thailand from 2002 to 2016. This study found that the Graham’s net nets, Dreman’s contrarian, Fisher’s super stock, O’Neil’s CANSLIM, Slater’s zulu principle, Neff’s Cheapo, O’Shaughnessy’s tiny titans, Greenblatt’s magic formula, Carlisle’s acquirer’s multiple and Piotroski’s F-score strategies beat the market (SET TRI). It also found that the Benjamin Graham’s net nets strategy which used the market capitalization of less than two thirds of net current assets value (NCAV) criterion produced the highest return among the strategies used. However, the Tobias Carlisle’s Acquirer’s multiple strategy which used EBIT to enterprise value (EBIT/EV) to sort stocks for 30 stocks yielded the highest risk-adjusted return.

Abstract:
Objective. To develop consensus recommendations for the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) as an adjunct intervention for upper extremity motor recovery in stroke rehabilitation clinical trials. Participants. The Canadian Platform for Trials in Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (CanStim) convened a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers from institutions across Canada to form the CanStim Consensus Expert Working Group. Consensus Process. Four consensus themes were identified: (1) patient population, (2) rehabilitation interventions, (3) outcome measures, and (4) stimulation parameters. Theme leaders conducted comprehensive evidence reviews for each theme, and during a 2-day Consensus Meeting, the Expert Working Group used a weighted dot-voting consensus procedure to achieve consensus on recommendations for the use of rTMS as an adjunct intervention in motor stroke recovery rehabilitation clinical trials. Results. Based on best available evidence, consensus was achieved for recommendations identifying the target poststroke population, rehabilitation intervention, objective and subjective outcomes, and specific rTMS parameters for rehabilitation trials evaluating the efficacy of rTMS as an adjunct therapy for upper extremity motor stroke recovery. Conclusions. The establishment of the CanStim platform and development of these consensus recommendations is a first step toward the translation of noninvasive brain stimulation technologies from the laboratory to clinic to enhance stroke recovery.

Abstract:
Objectives. To describe characteristics and management of people with community acquired needle stick injuries (CANSI) attending urban emergency departments; and suggest a guideline to improve assessment, management, and documentation. Methods. A retrospective analysis of cases with CANSI attending emergency departments in two tertiary hospitals between 2001 and 2005 using medical record review with follow up phone and written survey. Results. Thirty-nine cases met the criteria for CANSI. Persons younger than 30 years sustained 48.72% of all injuries. Source serology was available for only five cases (12.82%). Thirty-one of thirty-nine patients (79.49%) were classed as not immune to hepatitis B but only four of these (12.90%) received both hepatitis B vaccination and hepatitis B immunoglobulin. Six patients (15.38%) received HIV prophylaxis; of which two (33.33%) did not receive baseline HIV testing. Of ten patients referred to immunology clinic for follow up only two (20.00%) attended at 6 months. Conclusion. We have identified groups that are at high risk of CANSI, including young males, security workers and cleaners. In the majority of cases protection against hepatitis B was inadequately provided, and a substantial proportion had inadequate baseline assessment and documentation. A guideline is suggested that may be used to improve these deficits. What is known about this topic? Occupationally acquired needle stick injury guidelines are well established, but no guidelines currently exist for community acquired needle stick injuries (CANSI) which may require different risk stratification, assessment and management. Management of CANSI in Emergency Departments has not been well described. What does this paper add? An audit of Emergency Department management of community acquired needle stick injuries demonstrates deficits in risk assessment, documentation and use of post-exposure immunisation and prophylaxis. A guideline is suggested that may be used to improve these deficits. What are the implications for practitioners? Practitioners need to perform and document a risk assessment of the injury, perform baseline serology, and provide tetanus and hepatitis B immunisation. Use of HIV post-exposure prophylaxis is determined by local prevalence of disease, injury risk assessment, source serology if known, and time since injury.

Abstract:
Does education have an influence on absence rates of full-time employees? The absence rates include the illness or disability, personal or family responsibility. The purpose of this report is to give an overview of the change in absence rates of full-time employees for both males and females in Canada from 1993 to 2013, and then research why higher education is correlated with less absence rates. To research why higher education is correlated with less absence rates, the authors used the data from CANSIM, the change by average earnings of individuals for both males and females by National Occupational Classification for Statistics. This article also considers the type of job difference, the opportunity cost and the nature of job to research the relationship between the education and absence rates. Improvement of modern education and QoL through the education reform and technological advancement will be helpful to overcome current challenges.

Abstract:
We estimated calorie intake from alcohol in Canada, overall and by gender, age, and province, and provide evidence to advocate for mandatory alcohol labelling requirements. Annual per capita (aged 15+) alcohol sales data in litres of pure ethanol by beverage type were taken from Statistics Canada’s CANSIM database and converted into calories. The apportionment of consumption by gender, age, and province was based on data from the Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Survey. Estimated energy requirements (EER) were from Canada’s Food Guide. The average drinker consumed 250 calories, or 11.2% of their daily EER in the form of alcohol, with men (13.3%) consuming a higher proportion of their EER from alcohol than women (8.2%). Drinkers consumed more than one-tenth of their EER from alcohol in all but one province. By beverage type, beer contributes 52.7% of all calories derived from alcohol, while wine (20.8%); spirits (19.8%); and ciders, coolers, and other alcohol (6.7%) also contribute substantially. The substantial caloric impact of alcoholic drinks in the Canadian diet suggests that the addition of caloric labelling on these drinks is a necessary step.

This paper discusses local wisdom from local communities in Indonesiain environmental management of natural resources asimplementation of sustainable development. The purpose of this paper isprovide an overview of the forms of natural resource management andovercoming environmental problems based on local wisdom asinsight for community development activities. This research is descriptivequalitative analytical descriptive method using a theoretical approachcultural ecology through literature study. From the results of this study, it is known that the valuesculture in Indonesia tends to be ecocentric and biocentric, so it cansaid to be a deep ecology (ecology that is deep / concentrated). Apart from that, it was shown toocultural values ??regulate the management of natural resources wisely. This writingalso shows that local wisdom as cultural ecology is an insightimportant in community development activities because it is not just shapingindependence and creating prosperity. More than that, cultural ecology isembodiment of sustainable development.

Full text
Abstract:
The Soil Landscapes of Canada (SLC) is a national soil map and accompanying database of environmental information for all of Canada, produced and maintained by the Canadian Soil Information Service (CanSIS) which is a part of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The SLC maps were originally published as a set of paper products for individual provinces and regions. The maps were digitized in CanSIS, using one of the first geographic information systems in the world, and linked to soil and landscape attribute tables to serve an evolving variety of spatial modelling applications. The SLCs form the lowest level of the National Ecological Framework for Canada. The latest public release of the SLC is version 3.2, which provides updated soil and landscape information for the agricultural areas of Canada. The SLC v3.2 digital coverage includes an extensive set of relational data tables. The component table lists the soil components in each agricultural polygon along with their predicted dominant slope, class, and extent. The soil component codes are also linked to soil attribute tables which define fundamental soil properties, such as classification and parent material, as well as a description of the soil horizons and key soil attributes to a depth of 100 cm. SLC v3.2 adds a new set of landform tables which identify the major landform type in each polygon and indicates the most likely soil components in the upper, mid slope, lower slope, and depressional positions. These soil and landform attributes are designed to support a wide variety of national and international environmental modelling applications, such as the prediction of soil quality change, soil carbon sequestration, and land productivity for different agricultural crops in response to agricultural policy, land management, and climate change scenarios. Future versions of the SLC are under development that will have improved spatial resolution and include soils data for areas beyond the present agricultural zone of Canada.

As medicine has become increasingly scientific and technology-driven, medical care costs have increased and physicians had to specialize more and more, while working conditions have deteriorated for most of them. Because of the country s health policies, a vast majority of physicians took jobs in public hospitals where they do day and night duty shifts. Although salaries are low in the public sector, their tenure and labor rights are assured. In order to earn enough to meet their needs, a large part of these physicians work long hours, in day and night shifts, often times with no possibility of resting or engaging in leisure activities in their free time. This research focuses on physicians leisure. It was designed to understand how a group of physicians working in a public high-tech children s hospital in the city of São Paulo use their free time for leisure, and especially what their understanding of leisure is. Those physicians were asked to fill out a questionnaire and mark the number of working hours and the number of hours dedicated to other activities such as sleeping, resting, being with their families, and especially leisure considering two situations: a typical week and an atypical week. With this data in hand the author contacted seven physicians and long interviews were conducted to discuss the topic, i.e. leisure and physicians. Six of these seven physicians are pediatricians who passed an open competition and work duty shifts at the hospital s emergency room. One is a female plastic surgeon at the hospital where she also works as a volunteer. To analyze the interviews a specific methodology for qualitative research was used which is based on Heidegger s hermeneutic ontology. Based on the quantitative research the author concluded that although physicians believed they had leisure time this was not borne out by the facts. The data obtained in the qualitative research in turn allowed the author to conclude that for the group interviewed enjoying leisure time or not was directly related with the history or background of each one of them. For many of them leisure was yet another form of work, that is, it followed the same type of capitalistic logic, the logic of the perpetuum mobile of production. Leisure was also dependent on their availability to engage in a certain type of activity that could be considered as leisure or not. It also became apparent in the interviews that the physicians of this group had no difficulty in thinking about their leisure, although they were surprised with the topic at first. One last conclusion was that for this group of physicians leisure was not always equated with quality of life, or with pleasure or relaxation
