Digital data production increases on a daily basis due to the widespreaduse of Internet and interconnected computing devices. Actingsecurity mechanisms may result in several types of information,if processed and correlated, since their output logs range from IPaddresses/regions to attack events. Hence, the application of datascience techniques is essential to extract knowledge and insightsfrom this massive amount of data. In this article, we present a platformfor cybersecurity data visualization in an effort to identifytrends, associations and patterns, which enable better data-drivendecisions

Abstract:
Lifelong learning (LLL) is a crucial strategy for the development of human capital, particularly in the face of challenges such as an aging population, a significant decrease in birth rates, and the outflow of qualified personnel, which pose a threat to the national labor market. The objective of this article is to examine the factors that influence LLL and assess the specific impact of regional variables that reflect infrastructure quality, access to social services, cultural development, and crime rates. The demand for nature and ecotourism has been constantly rising last forty years and it will continue to grow. Due to the coronavirus, domestic tourism will increase exponentially, which would enhance ecotourism development. Foreigners and local tourists have become more aware to leave a positive impact on the environment where they travel and where they live. Serbia and Slovakia have a great potential to become attractive ecotourism destinations. Both countries are countries with a similar population number, no access to the sea, but with preserved nature, great gastronomic offer, and the mai

Abstract:
Public urban transportation systems are essential for mitigating climate change, leading policymakers to intensify efforts to boost ridership. However, there is not much evidence showing up to what extent, in regions with high crime rates like Latin America, safety perception could limit these efforts. This paper studies the impact of crime and crime perception on public transport demand across six Latin American capitals. Using a sample of 5,160 participants, we conduct three preregistered experiments to quantify the impact of crime on public transport choices and policy preferences. In the f

Abstract:
Regional banking systems in Asia and the Pacific are not only increasingly integrated but also tend to be concentrated to a few counterparties only, exposing the region to financial risk and policy spillovers. This study assesses the determinants and impacts of the region’s cross-border banking concentration. It constructs and analyzes cross-border bank concentration measures for 47 economies in Asia and the Pacific from 2000 to 2019. Results suggest that higher capital account, trade openness, and per capita income are significantly associated with lower cross-border bank concentration. Moreo

Abstract:
This paper presents new evidence for major world regions and for the most populous countries in each region on associations between the average ages of populations and three groups of economic outcomes: (1) macroeconomic aggregates (domestic saving as a share of GDP, GDP per capita, capital per worker and tax revenue as a share of GDP); (2) governmental expenditures on education and health; and (3) social indicators (inequality, unemployment, homicide rates, and schooling progression rates). The results suggest that the variables considered follow clear age-related patterns, that the patterns

Abstract:
This paper revisits the analysis of the implications of China's economic growth on her trading partners presented in Arndt et al. (1997) using a dynamic, applied general equilibrium model that features international capital mobility. We find that accounting for the impact of China's growth on international capital markets reverses some of the findings in the paper by Arndt et al. In particular, net creditor regions lose while net debtor regions benefit from an economic slowdown in China due to the resulting decline in the cost of capital. Our analysis also reveals the importance of capital acc

The services sector is composed of a diverse range of services--from retail and business services to education and health. Some services are used as inputs in production while others have direct impacts on human capital development. In the Philippines, services account for 60 percent of its gross domestic product and almost 57 percent of employment. Across regions and subsectors, however, the contribution of services varies. Using a simple shift-share technique is used which decomposes changes into three factors: the national share (growth effect), the industry mix (sectoral effect), and the r
