The ideas of Lorenz that follow both the theories of earlier German biologists from the break of 19th and 20th centuries [von Uexküll, Heinroth] and classic Darwinism, were directly at odds with the Marxist-Leninist concept of human nature as well as the official materialist-dialectic doctrine in science. In general, it is assumed that there are many differences between human beings and other animal species. That may be true, but in terms of diseases caused by viruses and microorganisms that difference is much narrower. As André Lwoff, Nobel Prize winner in 1965, said, “viruses are viruses” and therefore the fact that they affect animal species makes no difference. Over the centuries, the human species has been threatened by various bacterial and viral pathogens. In this respect, animal species are not immune. In this regard, the purpose of research was to confirm or refute the theory, in reptiles from different places of residence, various parasites are found. Abstract Species are defined by one authority (Mayr 1963) as ‘actually or potentially interbreeding populations which are reproductively isolated from other such populations’: they correspond, crudely, to ‘kinds of animals’ in the popular parlance. The meaning and significance of ‘reproductively isolated’ has been very commonly misunderstood. The requirement is that there should be no gene flow between two species under natural conditions; i.e. over their ranges in the wild. It is not a requirement that they must not interbreed when brought together in captivity.

Progress in captive primate husbandry, driven by the need for healthy animals for research and, more recently, by the recognition of the importance of captive breeding as part of a conservation strategy, has been remarkably rapid.
