Abstract:
Bus-based Park and Ride (P&R) schemes have become increasingly popular over the past 40 years in the UK, as a result of them being considered a positive traffic reduction policy by many, not least local authorities. There have nevertheless been concerns over the true effects of P&R. For instance, surveys of P&R users have long since revealed that up to a third transfer from conventional public transport. This induces car travel for the access portion of the P&R trip, which is generally large compared to the bus portion, owing to the edge-of-town location of P&R sites. Combined with the mileage effects of high-frequency bus services, evidence has suggested that P&R may thus result in an increase, compared to alternative travel behaviour, in the mean vehicle miles travelled (VMT) of its users. This thesis aims to investigate how UK bus-based P&R may be developed to reduce users VMT. As such, it applies to P&R the Characteristics Approach to Consumer Demand and delineates the attributes of interchange from which users derive utility. The research also develops this approach to consider the characteristics that affect the traffic impacts of P&R. The characteristics of P&R are adjusted to provide alternative concepts of interchange that aim to reduce VMT. These concepts are then examined to understand the level of utility that they are likely to provide. Local authorities perceptions of utility are examined initially, through a national survey which also looks at general attitudes towards P&R, its effects and its future. The city of Cambridge (UK) is selected as a case study in which an in-depth document analysis and interview survey of local stakeholders is carried out to understand the role of P&R in local policy and the implications of the implementation of alternative concepts of interchange. In this context, a survey of P&R users is also undertaken which considers the VMT effects of the current and alternative concepts of P&R as well as the change in the level of utility that would be derived from using them. It is concluded that local authorities generally consider P&R to be an effective policy in reducing car use whilst also playing important roles in the local economy and political arena. Yet the evidence on the Cambridge P&R scheme suggests that VMT is increased to a higher degree than previously proven. Alternative concepts of interchange are shown to offer some potentially significant benefits by reducing the VMT of users. Furthermore, some of the alternative concepts are also shown to offer benefits in terms of the utility that they may provide to the user, and the perceptions on this by local authorities. The VMT and utility results are combined to suggest that future implementation of interchange should consider operating feeder bus services into interchange sites (an intermediate solution offering some VMT benefits with relatively small resource requirements) or, operating a series of small interchange sites along main access routes to host cities (likely to require more resources but providing significant VMT benefits).

The cohouse is a smarter type of housing, where we can find solutions through sharing. It combines the home with the social meeting place, resembling an indoor/outdoor fusion. My intention with this project is to create a housing that is unfinished, a continuous project. Where the residents are encouraged to try other ways of living. Where the rooms are not only made up by walls but also created by the bodies of people, forever changing and rearranged - a continuous space.

Abstract:
Automobilpalatset i Jönköping, ritat av byggnadsingenjör Birger Lindström, uppfördes under åren 1929-1930 och var ett av de första parkeringshusen i Sverige. Förutom parkering fanns det utställningshallar och bilförsäljning, service och bensinstation-långt före bilismen var en del av folks vardag. Efter rivningshot byggnadsminnesmärktes huset år 2001.   Idag finns andra affärsverksamheter i gatuplan, resterande våningar står relativt tomma och mycket nedgånga. Automobilpalatset ägs av kommunen och det finns för närvarande ingen plan för förändring.   Jag vill i mitt förslag addera människan till Automobilpalatset. Stadsbilden och synen på bilen har förändrats sedan 1930. Det är inte rimligt i dagens samhälle att frånta en stadskärna den potential som Automobilpalatset besitter genom att förvanska byggnaden och låta den stå mestadels tom. Det känns inte heller längre modernt att parkera bilar i ett så kallat palats. Den unika arkitektur och kontext som man hittar i byggnaden borde istället till större del  öppnas upp för allmänheten. Att få ta del av dessa fantastiska rum skulle vara en upplevelse för besökaren och möjliggöra en mer levande attraktiv stadsbild.   Gatubilden under kvällen skulle förändras av att de stora fönstren äntligen fick lysa upp av de boende vilket skulle trygga platsen såväl som synliggöra huset på ett nytt sätt. Byggnadens komplexa uppbyggnad med split-level-plan skapar speciella situationer. Flexibilitet och robusthet liksom tydliga industrifunkisvärden i struktur, rymd och materialitet präglar huset. Utmaningen ligger bland annat i den djupa huskroppens stora mörka ytor och i det att väga mellan nytt och gammalt.
“Automobilpalatset” in Jönköping , designed by engineer Birger Lindstrom and built 1929-1930, was one of the first car parks in Sweden . In addition to parkingspace , there were showrooms and car sales , service and a petrol station - long before the car was a part of people's everyday lives. After threats of demolition the building was named a heritage, to be protected, in 2001.   Today, there is other business related spaces at street level , while the remaining floors are relatively empty and in very bad shape . Automobilpalatset is owned by the municipality and there is currently no plan for changes.   In my proposal I wan’t to add people to this place. Cityscape and the opinion of cars has changed since 1930. It is not reasonable in today's society to deprive a city center the potential that this buildning possesses by distorting the building and leaving it empty . It's no longer fashionable to park cars in a so-called palace. The unique architecture and context that one finds in the building ought instead to be opened up and public. To take part of this amazing place would be an experience for the visitor and allow for a more vibrant attractive cityscape. The large windows, finally lit up by residents, would change how the building is looked up-on. The building complex structures with a split-level-plan creates special situations. Flexibility and robustness as well as the industrustrial modernist values ​​in structure , space and materiality characterizes the house. The challenge in restoring it lies in the deep volume and large dark surfaces, and in balancing between new and old.

Abstract:
This study investigates the level of pollutants (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals) in three car parks at QUT, one at Kelvin Grove campus and two at the Gardens Point campus. In addition, comparisons between site designs were assessed to identify the possible sources of heavy metals and PAHs. The main contributing source for heavy metals was identified to be from vehicle debris and emissions, while the source of PAHs was identified to be from petrol and diesel engine vehicle emissions. The highest concentration of pollutants was typically found for the 63 micro meter dust samples, proposed to be due to increased surface areas and thus available adsorption sites.

The automobile is undeniably an icon of our modern era. Decades of accommodating the automobile have dramatically transformed the shape and the quality of our physical environment. The typical suburban retail parking lot is one symptom of our automobile dependence. Frequently the proposed solutions to sprawl development tend to minimize the economic and marketing appeal of a large surface parking lot. For many communities, the anticipated economic benefit and convenience of a suburban retail development overcomes any reservations about the appearance and effect of the associated sea of asphalt. A more achievable design goal might be a pedestrian-oriented parking lot. Is that feasible? What present and future advantages might be gained? What would it be like? This thesis studies the typical commercial surface parking lot through observation and analysis, leading to the design of an infrastructural system of elements to develop pedestrian-oriented parking lots.

Abstract:
This study is a presentation of an instantaneous and simultaneous velocity and concentration measurement technique and its applications on car park fire scenarios.

In this actual chapter 1 general introduction is given to each chapter. Chapter 2 is dedicated to a detailed description of the instantaneous and simultaneous velocity and concentration measurement technique and its associated error assessment methodology. The name of the new technique is derived from the names of the acquired parameters (VELocity and COncentration) and shall be hereafter referred to as VELCO. After having validated and performed an error assessment of this technique, it is applied to an investigation of full-scale car park (30 m x 30 m x 2.6 m – Gent / WFRGENT) fire cases in chapter 3. The measurements were carried out with the financial support of IWT-SBO program. In the full-scale measurements only the velocity part is applied of VELCO, yet it can be considered as its application since the special data treating was developed and implemented in the Rabon (see: §2.1.2) program, which is the software of the new technique along with Tucsok (see: §2.1.1) and they will be both discussed in the related chapter. Here it is enough to mention that the concentration and velocity information can be obtained independently as well. During the full-scale measurements, beyond of VELCO the smoke back-layering distances (SBL) are also derived from the temperature values, which were measured by thermocouples under the ceiling in the midline of the car park. The critical velocity, which is an important measure of fire safety, can be obtained from the SBL results. In chapter 4, isothermal fire modeling is surveyed in order to present how full-scale fires are modeled in small-scale. In this part of the study the theory of fire related formulae and an isothermal model are described. Here it is important to stress the fact that the fire modeling is not directly related to the VELCO technique. However it connects the full-scale to the small-scale measurements, which the technique is applied on. Chapter 5 discusses small-scale measurements (1:25 – Rhode Saint Genese / VKI) on the car park introduced in chapter 3 and their validation. After the validation, more complex car parks scenarios are also investigated due to the easy to change layout in the small-scale model with respect to the full-scale car park. In this chapter the smoke back-layering distances are obtained by VELCO. Finally, in chapter 6 important conclusions are drawn with the objective of increasing fire safety.

Abstract:
With growing concern over the use of the car in our urbanized society, there have emerged a number of lobby groups and professional bodies promoting a return to public transport, walking and cycling, with the urban village as the key driving land use, as a means of making our cities’ transportation systems more sustainable. This research has aimed at developing a framework applicable to the Australian setting that can facilitate increased passenger patronage of rail based urban transport systems from adjacent or associated land uses. The framework specifically tested the application of the Park & Ride and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concepts and their applicability within the cultural, institutional, political and transit operational characteristics of Australian society. The researcher found that, although the application of the TOD concept had been limited to small pockets of town houses and mixed use developments around stations, the development industry and emerging groups within the community are posed to embrace the concept and bring with it increased rail patronage. The lack of a clear commitment to infrastructure and supporting land uses is a major barrier to the implementation of TODs. The research findings demonstrated significant scope for the size of a TOD to expand to a much greater radius of activity from the public transport interchange, than the commonly quoted 400 to 600 meters, thus incorporating many more residents and potential patrons. The provision of Park & Rides, and associated support facilities like Kiss & Rides, have followed worldwide trends of high patronage demands from the middle and outer car dependent suburbs of our cities. The data collection and analysis gathered by the researcher demonstrated that in many cases Park & Rides should form part of a TOD to ensure ease of access to rail stations by all modes and patron types. The question, however, remains how best to plan the incorporation of a Park & Ride within a TOD and still maintain those features that attract and promote TODs as a living entity.

Táto práca popisuje v súčastnosti široko používané architektúry a modely pre Hlboké Učenie, riešiace úlohu detekcie a klasifikácie objektov vo videu. Dôraz tu bude kladený na ich použiteľnosť na vstavaných zariadeniach. Postupne preberieme kroky a odvôvodňovanie pri výbere najlepšieho vstavaného systému pre našu aplikáciu. Ukážková aplikáci pozostáva hlavne z detekcie vozidiel a detekcie voľných parkovacích miest s využitím algoritmov Hlbokého Učenia. Táto aplikácia umožňuje monitorovať počet vozidiel, nachádzajúcich sa na parkovisku a zároveň rozhodnúť, či sa nachádzajú na prakovacom mieste alebo nie. Následne tu budú prebrané kroky nutné ku konfigurácii zariadenia s dôrazom na optimalizáciu hardvéru pre dosiahnutie čo najväčšej rýchlosti. V ďaľšej časti bude poskytnuté porovnanie vybraných modelov, ktoré budú porovnávané hlavne v kategóriách ako rýchlosť alebo F1 skóre. Najlepší kandidát bude použitý na riešenie našej aplikácie a následné testovanie jej vlastností s názvom Inteligentné parkovisko.

Bostadsbristen är en högaktuell fråga i Stockholm där det råder stor efterfrågan på bostäder. De obebyggda tomterna i Stockholm city är parker, grönstråk och torg vilket redan fyller en viktig funktion och bör inte bebyggas. Det finns flera lösningar på hur bostadsarea kan tillföras för att mätta samhällets behov.  Att bygga på befintliga byggnader är ett av flera alternativ som finns i dagsläget och bidrar till en lösning som tillför bostadsarea på exploaterad mark. Examensarbetet kommer att behandla en påbyggnad av bostäder på parkeringshus samt undersöka hur påbyggnaden påverkar omgivningen. Kärnan i examensarbetet är resultatet av en undersökning kring brand, akustik, solljus, konstruktion, installation och omgivningspåverkan för att sedan ge ett förslag på ett gestaltningsarbete. Med dessa undersökningar har en slutsats dragits att det är möjligt med en påbyggnad av bostäder på parkeringshus. Detta kommer att leda till hög produktionskostnad men också ge en lönsamhet.
The housing shortage is a highly topical issue in Stockholm with a large demand for housing. The undeveloped plots in Stockholm city is parks, green streets and squares which already plays an important role and should not be developed. There are several solutions to how residential area can be added to saturate the needs of society. Building on existing buildings is one of several options available in the current situation and contribute to a solution that adds residential area to developed land. This thesis will address the extension of housing on a car park.   The core of the thesis is the result of an investigation of fire, acoustics, sunlight, construction, installation and ambient influences to then provide a proposal on the architectural design. With these studies, a conclusion drawn that it is possible with an extension of homes on the car park. This will lead to high production cost but also giving viability.

Disertacijoje atliekama automobilių stovėjimo vietų poreikio mieste analizė. Pagrindinis darbo objektas – asmeninių kelionių automobilių stovėjimo vietų didmiestyje pasiskirstymo sistema. Ekspertiniu metodu sudaryta automobilių stovėjimo vietų mieste kriterijų sistema. Taikant daugiatikslius metodus kriterijams suteikti rangai ir apskaičiuoti jų svorių koeficientai, kurie leido nustatyti kriterijų prioritetus ir parinkti racionaliausias automobilių stovėjimo aikštelių išdėstymo vietas miesto teritorijoje. Pagrindinis darbo tikslas – pasiūlyti automobilių stovėjimo vietų mieste plėtros vertinimo modelį ir pateikti originalius automobilių stovėjimo aikštelių plėtros koncepcinius sprendinius. Disertaciją sudaro įvadas, 3 skyriai, bendrosios išvados, literatūros sąrašas, publikacijų sąrašas. Įvade trumpai aptariama tiriamoji problema, darbo aktualumas, aprašomas tyrimo objektas, formuluojamas darbo tikslas ir uždaviniai, aprašoma mokslinis darbo naujumas, ginamieji teiginiai. This dissertation examines the shortage of motor vehicle parking spaces in the city area. The object of this research is the allocation of passenger car parking spaces in cities. A criteria system for car parking spaces in cities was formed using the expert estimate method. By using multi-criteria methods, the criteria were grouped and their factor value was calculated, which helped to establish the priorities of the criteria and to determine the most rational places for parking lots in the city area. This research aims to suggest a model for developing an infrastructure of car parking spaces in the city and to present original conceptual solutions for the expansion of parking lots. The dissertation comprises an introduction, three chapters, general conclusions, a list of literature, and a list of publications. The introduction specifies the problem, describes the relevance of the paper, names the research object, the aim and objectives, its scientific novelty, and the defended statements. Finally, it lists publications and conference presentations of the author, describes the author’s participation in international seminars and presents the structure of the dissertation. Chapter one introduces the literature overview of the subject analysis and discusses the study of the scientific research carried out in this field. Liminal sites are those on the verge of change, between boundaries and in a temporary state of ambiguity. Throughout my practice as an architect I was aware of the existence of such spaces. I was also aware that they were rarely the product of my intentional design effort. Because of that to me these spaces were precious. They represent moments in space of ambiguous function and questionable beauty but also moments I sought out everyday. This masters research is my way of refocusing my practice to engage with these types of spaces. The sense that this search will take me outside of my understanding of architecture lead me to chose to undertake it as a masters in landscape architecture. My main research question is: How can a designer construct a liminal site? The research concentrates on four central themes - development of a definition of the term

Parking garages belong to the basic inventory of today’s cities, however their existence and contribution to the urban fabric is marginally discussed under the urban themes of structural transformation, environmental underperformance and socio-cultural fragmentation. This thesis is a study of parking infrastructure in the inner-city of Malmö with a particular focus on rooftops as spaces of opportunities for a sustainable urban development.The thesis aims to investigate whether an integration of parking garages into the urban fabric of their local environment can contribute to a more equal, mixed-use city development through adaptive reuse of the rooftops as public green spaces.Based on a literature review on public space transformation, urban green spaces, its threats and services and an investigation of a specific case study, this thesis identifies parking garages as potential spaces to compensate a lack of urban green and public environment. The study of possible integration of public and green services into the existing structures of parking garages is performed on the level of a city wide analysis, as well as in a particular context of a central district in Malmö. The study shows that the location of parking garages within network nodes of an increasingly mobile society and fragmented city structure could be strategic locations for additional uses. Furthermore an evaluation of parking garage usage has confirmed, that stand-alone, open-roof structures have been affected by vacancy, specifically in the upper floors due to decrease of demand for car parking in the central parts of Malmö. Finally this study concludes that parking garages are overlooked nodes with further potentials for adaptive reuse.

The diploma thesis Park and Ride deals with the design of a car park in the town of Hranice, which is known mainly for its important transport train node and Hranice Abyss. The city now suffers from the high intensity of car traffic in the city center due to insufficient street network. This network is disrupted by a four-lane road that was built in the 1980s and cut natural transport links. In today’s situation new methods are constantly evolving in the construction industry where the sustainability of a construction is of utmost importance. Prefabricated concrete is a type material that is highly durable in terms of long life without producing damaging effects. As a result, the material has been used increasingly in the manufacture of construction. Construction industry is continuously developing, which means new ways to construct buildings. Within construction, usage of prefabricated concrete is a method that has become increasingly successful. With this method, the construction period is shortened considerably and the construction process will be more beneficial for the environment and the various safety aspects. This master thesis was written in cooperation with AB Strängbetong, is one of the largest companies in Sweden that uses prefabricated elements. The company has a concept called TempoDeck and is currently building a parking garage in Ullared, with the life with a life expectancy of 50 years, that is life class L50. The objective of the study was to check whether the construction work fulfilled the requirements of the standards. In addition, the purpose was also to investigate the possibility of a different type of facade design by reducing the height of the joists and beams. The thesis includes a literature review, a case study, an archive analysis as well as calculations with the Norwegian program E – bjelke. A guidance from AB Strängbetong has also been used. The results showed that the existing structure fulfilled the life class L50 according to the requirements. In addition, the results showed that it was aesthetically possible to modify the car park, to make it more appealing. However, it would be more profitable to keep the design as it is to the future constructions.
I dagsläget utvecklas ständigt nya metoder inom byggbranschen där hållbarheten i en konstruktion är av ytterst stor vikt. Betong är ett material som är mycket hållbart då det har en väldigt lång livslängd utan att det ger större skadeverkan. Detta resulterar i att materialet brukas allt mer i tillverkning av byggnationer. Byggnadsteknik är i kontinuerlig utveckling vilket medför nya sätt att uppföra byggnader. Byggverksamhet går mer och mer åt att använda prefabricerade betongelement, en byggmetod som har blivit allt mer framgångsrik. Med denna metod kan byggtiden kortas ner väsentligt, byggprocessen blir även hälsosammare för omgivningen och är bättre ur olika arbetsmiljöaspekter. Detta examensarbete skrevs i samarbete med AB Strängbetong som är ett av de största företagen i Sverige som använder sig av prefabricerade element. Företaget har ett koncept vid namn TempoDeck och har byggt ett parkeringshus med en förväntad livslängd på 50 år, det vill säga livslängdsklassen L50. Uppdraget som gavs var att kontrollera om denna byggnation klarade av kraven enligt normerna. Syftet var även att kunna utveckla en annan typ av fasadutformning genom att minska höjden på bjälklaget och balkar. Avgränsningen inom studien är att den endast gjorts på ett företag, AB Strängbetong, och fokuseras bara på parkeringshus med hänsyn till betongens täckskiktskrav. Examensarbetet fullföljdes genom inläsning av litteratur, fallstudie såsom arkivanalys och beräkningar, med det norska programmet E-bjelke, samt handledning från AB Strängbetong. Resultaten visade att den befintliga konstruktionen klarade av livslängdsklassen L50 med hänsyn till kraven. Det fanns även möjligheter till att estetiskt sätt ändra på parkeringshusets utseende, för att få den mer tilltalande. Det skulle dock vara mer ekonomiskt lönsamt att behålla utformningen som konceptet har till de framtida byggnationerna.

Chosen leasing companies and their offers of financial and operational leasing are examined. In the suggestions part different methods of lease funding are compared. The monthly costs of each method of funding are reckoned and the appropriate method is suggested considering account and tax aspects. This method will decrease the costs of the company car fleet and will increase the efficiency of its controlling.

O método procura integrar as etapas CAD, CAM do processo de fabricação de componentes de turbinas a gás. O método aborda desde a modelagem dos componentes, evitando algumas características impróprias ao fresamento 5-eixos, passando pela simulação das trajetórias e pós-processamento e por fim fabricação dos componentes. A partir desse trabalho algumas informações importantes referentes à cadeia CAD/CAM puderam ser levantadas. De maneira geral, a abordagem da cadeia CAD/CAM para o fresamento 5-eixos deve considerar etapas anteriores ao da programação CAM, como a etapa CAD da cadeia, onde as geometrias são definidas, e posteriores, neste caso, simulação das trajetórias de ferramenta programadas e pós-processamento de código NC. Foram feitas ainda análises relacionadas aos tipos de interpolação que estão disponíveis para o fresamento de geometrias complexas. Essa a análise é também apresentada no trabalho fazendo parte das contribuições que esse trabalho se propõe a dar. Os resultados por serem extremamente práticos se propõem a serem utilizados de imediato na indústria. Eles vão desde restrições a modelagem de geometrias para o fresamento 5-eixos até informações referentes a uso de interpolações complexas no âmbito de fresamento de superfícies complexas. Procurou-se dar informações pertinentes ao fresamento 5-eixos em todas as etapas da cadeia CAD/CAM para esse processo de fabricação.

The main objective of the thesis is to design a roundabout in the depth of anurbanistic study. The concerned crossroad is found in a village of Prestanov where the roads I/13 and II/253 intersecting. The goal of a supposed reconstruction is to change the traffic scheme of the current crossroad to design a roundabout. The change would provide the traffic flow going from the minor road II/253 with free-flowing traffic and better safety issues. Three new versions of the crossroad were designed. The spiral type roundabout is pursued further to the final design. The drawings and the technical report are also included. On top of that, the thesis contains an engineering geology survey and a road capacity assessment.

While there has been considerable research regarding the role of Mobility Hubs in cities and transport networks, significant investment is required to develop these facilities. It is the correlation between investment, new users’ attraction and revenue generation that is the key for a sustainable development of Mobility Hubs and this investment must, therefore, be correctly assessed and targeted. This study aims to develop a methodology to determine the viability of investing in Mobility Hub features, weighing the investment on different Hub features and services against expected potential benefits and revenue generation, addressing the question: Can investment in Mobility Hub features be justified and, if so, which features maximize its expected positive impact? Based on a review of literature and definition of possible Hub features as variables, secondary research data was compiled to enable the analysis of expected impacts of each variable/feature in terms of new user’s attraction and revenue generation, which was then used to develop individual Net Present Value analysis of each feature. The result of these analysis demonstrates and concludes that different Hub features have the potential to generate substantially different investment outcomes, and that each feature should be analyzed individually prior to investment decision. It was also concluded by this research that the proposed assessment methodology can be used for future research on other listed Hub features, albeit with the constraint that primary data will be required when secondary research data is not available.

The aforesaid compound is situated on an actual estate in a built-in area of the city of Brno, cadastral community of Královo Pole. The building functions as an accommodation for students of the University of Defence. The building is divided in three parts – two of them function as an accommodation, the third one incorporates conveniences of the hall of residence (boarding, administration, storeroom, library). The accommodation part has 5 floors in total, the conveniences are situated on the 2 above-ground floors and the basement. The compound is a wall construction with the ETICS weatherproofing insulation, combined with columns in the central section. The ceiling construction is made of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete ceilings. The roof is flat and vegetative. The diploma thesis includes architectural study, preparatory works and specializations in the field of founding.

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as propriedades mecânicas e as características intrínsecas de uma zircônia tetragonal policristalina parcialmente estabilizada por ítria (Y-TZP) experimental comparada a outras três Y-TZPs comercialmente disponíveis, a partir de blocos para sistema CAD/CAM. Os grupos foram: Y-TZP Experimental (ZE), Zirconcad (ZCA), IPS e.max ZirCad (ZMAX) e In Ceram YZ (ZYZ). Resistência flexural: 120 espécimes foram construídos para cada grupo (n=30) e submetidos ao ensaio de flexão em três pontos com velocidade de 0,5mm/min, de acordo com a ISO 6872. ANOVA a um critério foi utilizada para análise de diferenças significantes entre os grupos (α=0,05). Para a caracterização da resistência e longevidade dos materiais estudados, utilizou-se a análise estatística de Weibull por meio de dois parâmetros: o módulo de Weibull (m) e a resistência característica (δ0). Análise Fractográfica: a superfície da fratura dos espécimes foi analisada pelo microscópio eletrônico de varredura (MEV) sendo que o tamanho do defeito crítico (c) e a tenacidade à fratura (KIC) foi estimado por análise fractográfica quantitativa e sua caracterização por meio de análise fractográfica qualitativa. Espectroscopia Micro Raman: as fases da estrutura cristalina das diferentes Y-TZP foram identificadas por meio da detecção das bandas características. Houve diferença significativa (p <0,05) na resistência à flexão entre ZCA, que apresentou os menores valores, em comparação com ZE, ZMAX e ZYZ, que, por sua vez, foram semelhantes entre si. As superfícies fraturadas de todos os espécimes apresentaram marcas fractográficas características, sendo observada na superfície de ZCA uma maior quantidade de defeitos. Os valores de tenacidade à fratura de ZE foram significantemente diferente apenas para ZCA. Todos os materiais apresentaram as bandas características das fases tetragonal e monoclínica da Y-TZP. ZE mostrou-se semelhante em suas propriedades mecânicas e microestrutura às ZMAX e ZYZ, apresentando-se como um material promissor para uso em sistema CAD/CAM. ZCA apresentou os menores valores de resistência flexural e tenacidade à fratura o que sugere que a quantidade e distribuição de defeitos tem efeito sobre seu comportamento mecânico.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties and the intrinsic characteristics of an experimental yttrium tetragonal zirconia partially stabilized (Y-TZP) compared the other three Y-TZPs commercially available starting block for CAD/CAM system. The groups were: Experimental Zirconia (ZE), Zirconcad (ZCA), IPS e.max ZirCad (ZMAX) and In Ceram YZ (ZYZ). Flexural strength: 120 specimens were constructed for each group (n=30) and subjected to bending test at three points crosshead speed of 0.5mm/min, according to ISO 6872. ANOVA test was used to analyze significant differences between groups (α=0.05). To characterize the strength and longevity of the materials, the Weibull statistical analysis by two parameters were used: the Weibull modulus (m) and the characteristic strength (δ0). Fractographic analyzes: the fracture surface of the specimens was analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the size of the critical defect (c) and fracture toughness (KIC) was estimated by quantitative fractographic analysis and characterization through qualitative analysis. Micro Raman spectroscopy: phases of crystalline structures of different Y-TZP were identified by detecting the characteristic bands. Statistically significant (p <0.05) in flexural strength between ZCA, which had the lowest values compared with ZE, ZMAX and ZYZ, which in turn were similar. The fractured surfaces of all specimens showed similar fractographics characteristics and values of fracture toughness for ZE were significant difference only for ZCA. All materials showed the characteristic bands of tetragonal and monoclinic phases of zirconia. ZE were similar in its mechanical properties and intrinsic, which suggests that material capable of being used for the system CAD/CAM and applied clinically as framework.

Con lo cual nuestra empresa realizara diferentes actividades que hagan que la demanda de nuestro principal servicio (lavado de autos) tenga mayor demanda semanal. Consideramos que las maneras de satisfacer las necesidades presentes en este sector lo realizaremos implementando un car wash con excelente servicio, uso de productos con estándares de calidad e implementando servicios adicionales que optimicen el tiempo de espera de lavado mediante servicio de corte de cabello, masajes y cafetería. The space is an important transfer terminal and there are hight intensity of pedestrians due to the fact the train station is next to this location. The pedestrians are chaotically moving in the examine space (especially in the location of crossway). The goals of the thesis are to improve the quality of mobility of pedestrians in this location, to ensure barrier – free access to public transport stops which are not ensured today and to reduce static and transit traffic that does not belong into this space.

Abstract:
Este trabalho descreve a adaptação de um equipamento CNC e ferramentas computacionais CAD/CAM (desenvolvidas originalmente para a área de usinagem) na conformação de chapas de alumínio comercialmente puro, através do processo de estampagem incremental. Através das simulações e dos testes reais foi possível obter resultados práticos, relativos às limitações geométricas e ao acabamento superficial. As peças conformadas têm o formato básico de um tronco de cone, onde foram alterados a profundidade e o ângulo do cone. A análise dimensional das peças, comparadas com seu respectivo modelo CAD revelou razoável conformidade geométrica. Por outro lado, ângulos de parede maiores que 65° causaram o rompimento da chapa. As estampagens foram realizadas em um centro de usinagem, e utilizaram-se como valores máximos a velocidade de avanço de 2.200 mm/min e o incremento vertical de 1mm, por questões de segurança e também pela constatação de problemas de acabamento superficial e de vibrações excessivas do equipamento. Como conclusão final, foi demonstrado que, para o tipo específico de peça (material, espessura e geometria), dispositivo prensa-chapas, ferramentas, equipamento CNC e softwares utilizados, o processo de estampagem incremental seria viável para lotes de até 600 peças.
This paper describes the adaptation of a CNC equipment and CAD/CAM computational tools (originally developed for the machining area) on the conformation of sheets of commercially pure aluminum, through the process of incremental forming. Through simulations and tests were unable to get practical results, for the geometric constraints and surface finishing. Forming parts have the basic format of a truncated cone, which have changed the depth and angle of the cone. A dimensional analysis of the parts, compared with their CAD model showed geometric reasonable compliance. Moreover, the wall angles greater than 65 ° caused the breaking of the plate. The sheets formings were performed in a machining center, with a maximum speed of advance of 2,200 mm/min and the vertical increase of 1mm, for reasons of safety and also for finding finishing surface problems and the excessive vibration equipment. As final conclusion, it was demonstrated that, for the specific type of piece (material, thickness and geometry), device-press plates, tools, CNC equipment and software used, the process of incremental sheet forming feasible for batches of up to 600 pieces.

Resumo: O desenvolvimento sustentável é entendido como o melhor equilíbrio entre o crescimento econômico, a preservação ambiental e o desenvolvimento social, objetivando promover a melhoria do padrão de vida como um todo, garantindo esta continuidade às gerações futuras. A utilização de materiais de fontes renováveis, aliados às novas tecnologias, pode contribuir para esse desenvolvimento equilibrado. A popularização de softwares de projeto propiciou uma evolução na área do design, integrando sistemas, informações, permitindo a simulação de ensaios físico-mecânicos e a realização de prototipagem rápida. Esta integração é denominada como sistemas Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) - Projeto auxiliado por computador e manufatura auxiliada por computador. O objetivo deste projeto é apresentar diretrizes para a relação entre os sistemas CAD/CAM e o desenvolvimento de componentes para calçados femininos em bambu. Para tanto, foi realizada pesquisa quanti-qualitativa, dividida em três momentos: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e experimentações. A pesquisa de campo apresentou duas fases: na primeira, foram aplicados questionários semiestruturados para a coleta de dados primários no Arranjo Produtivo Local APL de Jaú, Estado de São Paulo; na segunda, preparou-se a matéria-prima experimental aplicada no estudo, denominada Bambu Laminado Colado (BLC). Abstract: Sustainable development is understood as the best balance among economic growth, environmental preservation and social development, intending to promote the improvement of the living standard as a whole, guaranteeing this continuity to future generations. The use of renewable materials, associated with new technologies, can contribute to this balanced development. The popularization of design software provided an evolution in the area of design, integrating systems, information, as well as allowing the simulation of physical-mechanical tests and rapid prototyping. This integration is referred to as Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD / CAM). This project aims at presenting guidelines for the relationship between CAD / CAM systems and the development of components for female bamboo shoes. In order to accomplish that, a quantitative-qualitative research was conducted, divided into three moments: bibliographical research, field research and experimentation. Field research consisted of two phases: in the first, semi-structured questionnaires were used to collect primary data in the APL Local Productive Arrangement of Jaú, State of São Paulo; in the second phase, the experimental raw material applied in the study, called Bamboo Laminated Glued (Bambu Laminado Colado - BLC), was prepared. A park lock mechanism is a device that is fitted to an automatic transmission on a vehicle. The mechanism lock up the transmission so that no rolling of the vehicle can be done when the vehicle is put in the park position. The aim of this thesis is to develop a method in order the evaluate designs on a Park Lock Mechanism (PLM) that can be found in a dual clutch transmission (DCT). A Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tool to calculate the output that is required for an evaluation of a park lock mechanism design will be created. The CAE tool shall calculate static, dynamic, and snap torque on a ratchet wheel in a gradient, with or without a trailer, also the minimum and maximum coefficient of friction between the pawl and cone, pull out force, the maximum amount of rollback, torque needed from the return spring, preload force from actuator spring, and engagement speed. The CAE tool created uses an Excel Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) workbook for all calculations. The tool allows the user to choose different vehicles with the required specification to evaluate the values for that PLM. The CAE tool will save time and cost if lots of different PLM’s are going to be designed. The CAE tool has potential for future work when more calculations can be added that can be in use for the evaluation the PLM. The CAE tool developed by the master thesis student calculates all the required values for evaluation of a PLM design, executed in a fast, efficient, and easy to use program.

O presente trabalho descreve o desenvolvimento de um sistema gráfico interativo para a elaboração de desenhos e programas de comando numérico, visando dar apoio ao projeto e a fabricação de matrizes para solados planos injetados, com auxílio de estações gráficas e máquinas de comando numérico (CNC). O referido sistema é composto de módulos que foram desenvolvidos para ajuste de curvas, escalonamento automático dos vários números de um modelo e geração automática de curvas eqüidistantes. Esses módulos, juntamente com a implementação de primitivas geométricas, arquivo gráfico e um ambiente gráfico interativo, assistem ao usuário na criação das diferentes geometrias, que apresentam trajetórias de ferramentas no momento da usinagem. Adicionalmente é apresentado um processador que traduz a geometria criada e os dados tecnológicos introduzidos, para o programa de comando numérico. Finalmente são analisados os resultados no projeto e da usinagem de uma matriz protótipo, que foi totalmente planejada e executada pelo sistema desenvolvido.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the new apartment house with business premises in the Riegrova street in Svitavy. The apartment house is located on flat land in the built-up area near the town centre. The building does not have a basement and has four floors. On the first floor there are a beauty and massage salon, a newsagent, a shoe shop, a maternal centre, entrances to the residential part and storage spaces belonging to the housing units. On the second, the third and the fourth floors there are housing units of different categories. The car park is situated outside the building. The building is made from constructional system Porotherm, the roof of the building is flat. The facade is designed with an external thermal insulation composite system. Drawings are processed in ArchiCAD 14.

Abstract:
The aim of my diploma thesis is to elaborate project documentation for the execution of a new building home for elderly people. The intention is to construct a new apartment building for pensioners who are able to do activities of daily living. There can be found 24 lease flats for a maximum of 30 accommodated people. The home offers 12 hours care service and has rooms for carers, dining rooms, places for rehabilitation, outpatient care and stores for keeping accommodated people’s things. The whole area has wheelchair access and counts with the movement of people with reduced mobility. The building is designed as brick, using clay blocks which are put on concrete foundation strips. Thermal insulation is a combination of contact thermal insulation system and ventilated facade with hanging plates. The roofing is designed partly as a float double-shell roof with timber truss girder, and partly as a single-shell roof with concrete load-bearing structure. The drawing documentation has been created using computer programs AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and the programs by doc. Dr. Ing. Zbyněk Svoboda (Teplo, Area, Stabilita, Simulace) and another simple computer programs like Excel were used for the thermal assessment.

Due to diverse surrounding area and position of isolated large objects suggest itself solving of conception by stages. In the southern part there were suggested new sports halls which have a long term tradition in this area. These buildings keep to the axis of Sportovní street and they are reacting to existing buildings on the other side. In the northern part at the shopping centre it was necessary make the place accesible and grass the place over and use the opportunity of the large space. In the northeastern part there is housing development and it reacts on the FRRMS building and it makes confotable enviroment for living. Buildings FRRMS together with rampats and bushy vegetation are isolating flat buildings. Effort to connect existing and establish new resulted in the simple solution solution that does not disrupt the neighborhood, on the contrary, trying to blend in with the city and calm the chaos in this area.

Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo é investigar e comparar, por meio de três diferentes protocolos de pesquisa, o comportamento de diferentes materiais cerâmicos utilizados para fabricação de restaurações em CAD/CAM. No Estudo 1, o objetivo foi determinar quais dos materiais possui a melhor usinabilidade, ou seja, a facilidade de corte. Os blocos para CAD/CAM selecionados foram: IPS e.max CAD, IPS Empress CAD, Vitablocs Mark II e LAVA Ultimate, estes cortados em uma máquina de corte (Isomet 4000, Buehler, Lake Bluff, IL, USA) e levados ao microdurômetro. Através das medidas da identação e trincas geradas pela leitura, foi determinado qual dos materiais utilizados em restaurações de CAD/CAM possui a melhor usinabilidade por meio do cálculo do índice de fragilidade. O LAVA Ultimate apresentou a melhor usinabilidade seguido pelo IPS Empress CAD. O IPS e.max CAD e o Vitablocs Mark II não apresentaram diferenças estatisticamente significantes. Para os estudos 2 e 3 os materiais selecionados foram IPS e.max CAD, Vitablocs Mark II, LAVA Ultimate e Enamic. No Estudo 2, o objetivo foi determinar qual dos materiais possui maior resistência à fratura após serem submetidos a diversas condições de termociclagem. Os blocos de cerâmicas de CAD/CAM foram cortados em várias fases até atingirem as dimensões finais de 14mm x 3mm x 2,5mm, no formato de barra, foram confeccionados um total de 144 corpos de prova. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare, through three different research protocols, the behavior of different ceramic materials used to manufacture CAD/CAM restorations. In Study 1, the objective was to determine which material has better machinability, i.e., ease of cutting. The blocks for CAD/CAM selected were: IPS e.max CAD IPS Empress CAD, VITABLOCS Mark II and LAVA Ultimate, these were cut on a cutting machine and taken to microhardness. From the measurements of the indentation and crack generated by the readings was determined which of the materials used for CAD/CAM restorations has the better machinability by calculating the Brittleness index. The LAVA Ultimate showed the best machinability followed by IPS Empress CAD. The IPS e.max CAD and VITABLOCS Mark II showed no statistically significant differences. For studies 2 and 3 the selected materials were IPS e.max CAD, VITABLOCS Mark II, LAVA Ultimate and Enamic. In Study 2, the goal was to determine which of the materials have greater fracture toughness after being subjected to various conditions of thermal cycling. Ceramic CAD/CAM blocks were cut in several stages until got the final dimensions of 14mm x 3mm x 2.5mm on bar formats, in total 144 specimens were made. The fracture toughness was determined by the three-point bending test with a notch made in the specimens. Later fractures were analyzed in scanning electron microscope and classified how the fractures occurred. The best performance was shown by the IPS e.max CAD material, where a statistically significant increase was observed after 120,000 cycles term. The LAVA Ultimate and Enamic materials showed reduction in their fracture toughness after thermal cycling. In Study 3, the objective was to determine the best performance among the materials on flexural strength and flexural modulus.
