Abstract:
Cork stoppers have been used for many centuries to seal wine in various vessels. Therefore, corks have become a traditional part of wine packaging in many countries and still play an important role for the entire wine industry. Nowadays, there is a wide option of bottle cork stoppers on the market, such as natural corks, agglomerated and technical stoppers (1 + 1), etc. These cork closures have a number of advantages, including positive sustainable and ecological aspects. Natural cork material can also be responsible for cork taint, which imparts musty/moldy or wet cardboard off-odors to the wine. However, corks are not the only source of cork taint in wine, as will be shown in the present chapter. Over the past decades, a number of compounds have been detected that can contribute to the cork taint. Among them, haloanisoles play a major role, in particular 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (TCA), which has been shown to be responsible for 50–80% or more of musty defect cases in wine. Currently, the cork and wine industries have developed a number of tools and technologies to effectively prevent cork tait in wine or to remove it if the wine is already contaminated. These practical as well as analytical questions about the TCA defects are the subject of the actual chapter.

Abstract:
As a pioneer of Expressionism in El Salvador, Rosa Mena Valenzuela was responsible for some of the most radical transformations in Salvadoran art in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Valenzuela began her own exploration of materials and form prior to her journey abroad in the 1960s, and hers were the earliest expressions in El Salvador of developing international trends and experiments. Valenzuela transgressed artistic traditions with her unique abstract and expressionistic style, as well as in her experimentation with diverse mediums and materials. She worked on an intimate scale and developed her own unique language for and approach to the two-dimensional plane where she painted, drew, and collaged various materials, such as paper, cardboard, fabric, industrial paint, aluminium, and cement. The spontaneous and energetic nature of her line simultaneously creates and erases both a sense of form and atmosphere. Line and colour are concomitant elements of her visual language; her images are often filled with vibrant colours, and at other times subdued, giving way to a narrative. Another important aspect of Valenzuela’s work is the effort to reveal if not highlight her process and materials, which can be interpreted as some of the more significant aspects of what makes her work unique to Salvadoran art.

Abstract:
Women are both central and marginalized in Maurice. Symbolically, they are central to the ideals of respectable heterosexual life that Maurice struggles against as he grows up, but their experience is frequently pushed to the margins of the narrative. Certainly, the novel’s female characters seem at first glance to be drawn from stereotypes; on the edge of the narrative, we notice mothers, sisters and their friends. Women symbolize, for Maurice and Clive, the banality of the conventional, heterosexual masculinity that they would like to reject yet cannot help being drawn to. Nevertheless, Forster implies that Maurice and Clive do not see the female characters ‘for what they really [are]’, but instead misinterpret them due to prejudices that are just as limited as those that they are rejecting. This chapter suggests that Forster’s characterization of women in Maurice encourages the reader to imagine depths of experience, suffering and frustration that exist at the margins of the novel’s narrative. In a novel that so boldly portrays the marginalized subject of homosexual masculinity, Forster more subtly enacts the oppression and marginalization that women face within a social construct of gender and family that purports to put them at the centre.

It is based on the form and harmonies of “How High the Moon” (Hamilton-Lewis). Parker performed “Ornithology” consistently through his career, perhaps because the conjunction of “Bird” and “Ornithology” was too tempting to ignore. “Donna Lee,” while credited to Parker, is widely considered to have been written by Miles Davis. One of the most popular compositions associated with Parker, “Donna Lee” is based on “Back Home in Indiana” (MacDonald-Hanley). The final two works, “Quasimodo” and “Cardboard,” are less known, but are fine compositions.

Abstract:
Abstract Problems of excessive coil deformation after winding will present difficulties in later material handling. Sheet material with a lower stiffness is more likely to deform than solid sheet coil. In this paper, numerical and analytical methods are used to study the factors causing this problem. The results can be used to estimate the requirement of the supporting core material to prevent this excessive coil deformation.

Abstract:
A typical driveline Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) spectrum contains the contribution of a significant number of vibration components, ranging from a few Hz to several kHz. This is due to different NVH phenomena that have their causes in the contact behaviour of discrete driveline components. A short duration, audible, high frequency, elastoacoustic phenomenon, which occurs as a load reversal in the presence of lashes in the driveline, is onomatopoeically known in industry as clonk (300–5,000 Hz). Its short duration acts as an impulse that excites a large number of structural modes of th

Abstract:
To comprehensively reveal the difference of solid fuel fire characteristics at different altitudes, fire experiments of cardboard boxes at multiple static pressures with two configurations filled with shredded office paper were conducted in a low-pressure chamber. The measured parameters are mass burning rate, radiative heat flux, oxygen concentration and heat release rate (HRR) etc. The mass burning rate divided by fire base dimension ṁ/D is correlated against the production of pressure-squared times length-cubed (P2L3) to the power of 0.29 based on current cardboard boxes fire test data. Abstract:
: At the moment there exists a predominant prevalence of the combined packaging (i. e. cardboard is covered with polyethylene) in the food packaging market, which provides the necessary barrier properties for a packaged product. However, there also exist a great number of problems regarding the issue such as packaging sorting, recycling, waste management, and economic losses. According to the latest data, 65 enterprises in Lithuania are currently working in the recycling industry. They can recycle different types of packaging. The issue of ecology is highly relevant in the printing industry. I
