Sorbus astateria (Cardot) Handel-Mazzetti (1933: 466) was originally described as Pyrus astateria Cardot (1918: 348). When Cardot (1918) described this new species, six collections (Ducloux 114, 3318, 3485, 4115, 4751 and Delavay s.n) from Yunnan, China, were cited in the protologue. According to Art. 9.5 (McNeill et al. 2012), all of these specimens are syntypes. When Aldasoro et al. The main goal of this thesis is to understand and link together some of the early works by Michel Rumin and Pierre Julg. The work is centered around the so-called Rumin complex, which is a construction in subRiemannian geometry. A Carnot manifold is a manifold endowed with a horizontal distribution. If further a metric is given, one gets a subRiemannian manifold. Such data arise in different contexts, such as: - formulation of the second principle of thermodynamics; - optimal control; - propagation of singularities for sums of squares of vector fields; - real hypersurfaces in complex man

Abstract:
Commercial carrot processors produce up to 175,000 tons of carrot waste annually. Carrot Mash (CM) is the term referring to the waste by-product of peeled baby carrot processing. Transportation of carrot processing waste is expensive due to its high- water content (approx. 83-95%). High in bioactive compounds (carotenoids) and dietary fibers, it is expected that its conversion into a value-added by-product is of interest to the carrot processing industry. Hemicellulose-rich plant materials have proven to be a source of oligosaccharides, which are known for their beneficial prebiotic activity.
