Abstract:
We investigated the effects of a student career choice guidance on identity development. We compared the levels of identity development before and after the guidance. In addition we compared the identity development of the participants with a norm group of the same age and educational level. Following the guidance we found—as expected—that the participants showed a significant increase in commitment strength in the vocational and personal domains and in global identity. The effect size was moderate. The participants showed significantly higher increase levels than did the norm group. The initial commitment strength in the group with career choice problems was lower as compared to the norm group in the vocational and personal domain but not in the global identity.

Abstract:
The article highlights the relevance of carrying out work on career guidance among the population and the importance of creating an effective system of vocational guidance. The brief history of the background of the birth and formation of vocational guidance in Ukraine and career development in Canada as well as the construction of a state system of professional orientation in these countries at the present stage are presented in this thesis. The concept of professional orientation as a system of interrelated economic, social, medical, psychological and pedagogical measures directed on activation of the process of professional self-determination of the person is presented. The views of modern scholars on the problems of professional orientation in Ukraine are analyzed. The activity of the government and public organizations in the field of career guidance of the population is explored. It is concluded that in Ukraine today there is no general vision of the development of professional orientation and clear quality criteria and a system of measurement of the effectiveness of providing vocational guidance services, and state bodies provide unsystematic services for professional orientation to different segments of the population. The essence of the concept of Career Development is the lifelong process of managing learning, work, leisure, and transitions in order to move towards a personally determined and evolving preferred future. It has been found that in Canada one notices a convergence of four sectors of society: government, education, organized labor and the non-profit-making sector. It has been established that a number of state, non-governmental and international organizations and projects have been created and effectively functioning in Canada’s Career Development, and their effective interaction has allowed to strengthen and develop a career development and career guidance. The role of career tutors using the latest career development strategies adapted to the diverse population of Canada is highlighted. A number of differences in the vocational guidance of Ukraine and Canada are revealed, which is connected with different historical, social and economic development of the countries.

Abstract:
In a transition economy, there is an increasing need for vocational training and career counseling for workers to cope with changes in the job market. This study seeks to enhance career guidance services by means of an information and communication technology-based (ICT-based) career information and guidance system. Although electronic learning (e-learning) has received much attention from researchers in the recent decade, the number of studies on how to make use of ICT in helping individuals acquire relevant information and advice that supports a career change and development is relatively small. Undoubtedly, an effective ICT application will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of career decision processes and enhance the quality of counseling services that assist human development in a transition economy. The study aims at revealing the perspectives of training providers in offering counseling services to individuals, through an ICT-based career information and guidance system, prior to the enrollment of on-the-job training or retraining programs. Data collected through semi-structured interviews were analyzed based on a constructivist grounded theory approach. Findings from participants from five institutions showed positive views on the use of ICT-based means that enables the collaboration of career counselors, educators, and professionals from different industries for providing tailor-made career guidance services. Further, functional requirements of the system and potential factors influencing system acceptance were discussed.

Abstract:
The field of transition—and the Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT)—was built upon a foundation established by theories of career development that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s and paved the way for the work/study movement of the 1960s and the vocational and career education for students with disabilities movement that dominated the 1970s and, eventually, the transition services movement. Today’s leaders in vocational psychology and career guidance suggest that market and global economic forces associated with a postmodern world have created a crisis in career development models and methods. This article discusses the evolution of how career development has been understood, and the potential importance of a life design framework and its emphasis on career construction, rather than career development, for the future of transition services.

Abstract:
Today, considering professional specialists' needs, the content and technology of training in career counseling from the perspective of practice are not sufficiently developed. Thus, a search for new forms, methods, and means of conducting career guidance with students is necessary. This article offers a broad range of technologies and their optimal combination in career guidance work with pupils in the integrated system “School – University.” A leading approach to the study of this problem is an integrative approach that leads to the necessity to use traditional and innovative technologies that contribute not only to effective assimilation of knowledge but also an early social adaptation of the prospective adolescents to university conditions. The present study consists of a needs assessment of students' career guidance and career counseling programs in the university. The research is based on a survey developed on a sample of 120 students from the Almaty schools. The collected data has been both qualitative and quantitative. The students have been inquired about their professional path, about their career decisions, personal and professional values, abilities and competencies, intentions for the future, etc. The study's most relevant results show that: students are poorly informed about job opportunities, their expectations for the future are not connected with their own knowledge and abilities, they do not have a coherent career plan, and they encounter major barriers in the career decision process. The results are important for career counselors as they can be used to develop career guidance programs in the university environment. Purpose of the research: to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the pedagogical conditions of vocational guidance for senior schoolchildren in the context of specialized education. The article is valuable for teachers and faculty of educational and vocational institutions to organize and conduct career guidance with students, applicants, and students.

Abstract:
With the labor market and work environments becoming increasingly dynamic, the question of how young people can find their way to a sustainable professional future becomes ever more complex. This paper looks from different perspectives at apprenticeships, at their advantages and limitations. The first step is a description of the prerequisites that are necessary for a sustainable career choice. In this respect, the role of career guidance is particularly relevant, as guidance needs to take into account both individual characteristics as well as labor market aspects in order to support a sustainable career choice. Based on a comprehensive critical literature review of current interdisciplinary and international papers, as well as of basic career choice theory literature, the theoretical framework is set out and linked to empirical results. The conclusion emphasizes the high importance of apprenticeships for the holistic personality development of young people and a positive as well as a sustainable effect on their lifelong employment careers. It should be stressed that this success depends, to a large extent, on the structure of the vocational education and training system, on labor market developments, and on individual advanced qualifications in the course of working life.

Abstract:
Introduction. In a modern dynamic society, new vocations and fields of activity are constantly emerging. The goal of the modern vocational education, information and counselling is to enable the individual to develop a career in the whole life course, full of changes and events. Former approaches have proved inadequate; therefore, new ways are being sought. Therefore, it is necessary to design approaches in managing careers, including those with special needs, and which counselling approaches for a career are best suited to an increasingly dynamic labour market. Aim and task. The basic research goal is to find all those innovations in theories and practices that appear in newer career guidance and career counselling approaches. For that purpose,, an longitudinal analysis of articles, studies, guidelines has been carried out that are accessible on web portals. Thus, the most important innovations that are often found in recent theories and practices are revealed. Results. System theories and constructivism in career guidance represent an urgent response to changes in a dynamic society, but still include some parts of previous theories and practices. Meaning, the present essentially implies the accumulating and merging of previous approaches that deal with individuals in a way that individuals become agents who manage their own careers. The most important innovations are: learning as the individual's own project, narrative approach with storytelling, reconstruction of self-esteem, self-determination, nonlinear career, empathy in counselling, decision-making autonomy, no directed counselling. So new constructivist perspective continues to influence career theory and practice. Conclusions. The study shows that it is impossible to talk about the best universal theories or approaches in the field of career guidance and career counselling, but about the most usable ones, in the given circumstances. The development of practices in career guidance and counselling is most influenced by psychology, and recently also by social-cognitive psychology, but the influence of other disciplines, such as sociology, ethics, economics and others, is increasing. Innovations that have been identified show the integration of diverse concepts; in particular, the contextual view that appears also in other social sciences. In emphasizing the active nature of individuals as self-building, self-renewing and self-organizing system within constructivist approach, it is viewed as important underpinning for the practice which is responding to ever changing times.

Abstract:
This study examined the current state of careers advice, guidance, and counselling (CAGC) services and programmes in the technical, vocational education, and training (TVET) system of Nigerian higher education institutions (HEIs). This was to determine how well current CAGC services and programmes foster students’ career development, aspirations, and choices. Forty-eight participants, who were members of the Nigerian National Board for Technical Education (8 participants), guidance counsellors (6), university TVET teachers (18), career experts from the National Directorate of Employment (7), and newly employed TVET graduates (9), volunteered for the study. A purposeful sampling procedure was adopted to recruit participants. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview approach, and we employed a thematic design for the coding and analysis of the transcribed data. The study found no CAGC services and programmes in the TVET system. It is recommended, therefore, that TVET systems should focus on providing career development enhanced learning rather than schooling only by revising the curriculum to include programmes and activities that promote CAGC activities and programmes.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the cross-cultural differences in vocational identity between American and Korean university students using the Vocational Identity Status Assessment. A total of 881 university students in both the United States and South Korea were sampled in this study assessing vocational identity. We compared means of latent variables (six dimensions of Vocational Identity Status Assessment in the present study) using latent mean analysis. The results indicated that Korean students showed higher scores on Career Self-doubt and Career Flexibility, whereas American students showed higher scores on In-breadth Exploration, In-depth Exploration, Commitment Making, and Commitment Identification. These results indicated the components of vocational identity that should be considered while providing career guidance to college students from diverse backgrounds. Implications for understanding the cultural differences of college students’ vocational identity and the need for conducting cross-cultural comparison studies to provide insights about the vocational development of college students in cross-cultural settings are discussed.

Abstract:
Vocational psychology carts away the vocational behavior regarding the occupational preferences of every individual, which commences at the period of adolescence. These occupational or vocational preferences are shaped or crystallized through career guidance and theories, which further help an adolescent to climb the career ladder towards achieving career aspirations and success. This research article, focuses mainly on five theories, self-concept development theory, valence-instrumentality-expectancy theory, theory of work adjustment , tournament theory and Maslow hierarchy of needs theory, which help the adolescents with the occupational preferences, assist in climbing the career ladder from growth stage to retirement stage, ultimately resulting in achieving career aspirations. Furthermore, researchers reveal the differences among these theories highlighting unique features of every theory in predicting occupational or career preferences. Abstract:
Contemporary career guidance and counselling approaches with particular interest to subjects which concern the development of career management skills since these skills are considered important means for the active exploration of the vocational course and the development of a career. The development of skills related to career adaptability and self-efficacy in the planning of a career could help students who are finishing Upper-secondary School (Lykeio) to approach creatively their career aims, and to deal effectively with the transitions or unexpected events by applying appropriate actions. The present study employed the survey research strategy in order to examine the level of the career adaptability and self-efficacy in the planning of a career with male and female students (N = 240) of Upper-secondary Schools (General Lykeia - GEL) and Vocational Upper-secondary Schools (Vocational Lykeia - EPAL) in Greece. Specifically, it examined the level of skills which students declare that they possess regarding the type of school, their gender and the educational level of the parents. The finding that the levels of career adaptability differentiated not only as regards the gender of the students but also the studies of the father and the mother has presented particular interest while the students who study at the General Lykeia were found to have higher scores in the areas: “career interest” and “curiosity” in the Career Adapt-abilities Scale (CAAS) compared with students who study at the Vocational Lykeia (EPAL). Finally, the motif of the scores in the B’ Class of Lykeio showed that the students of EPAL excelled in all the skills apart from the factor “career interest” while correspondingly in the C’ class of Lykeio students of the General Lykeio (GEL) excelled in all skill categories. Keywords: upper-secondary school students, self-efficacy, career adaptability, career management, Perceived Self-Efficacy in Career Planning, Career Adapt-Abilities Scale.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to a topical issue of the economy and society of the 21st century - the search and scientific substantiation of methodological techniques and tools for the formation and effective use of human capital in the regions of Russia. To achieve this goal, traditional general scientific methods were used: analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, survey. It is substantiated that vocational guidance work with the young generation of Russians contributes not only to their professional and personal self-determination, but also to the successful implementation of the accumulated human capital. The development of the phenomenon of vocational guidance is considered in a historical retrospective in the context of expanding the boundaries of human freedom in the socio-economic system. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of the applied aspect of vocational guidance work in high school - a certified program of additional professional education “Perspective: Your Path to Success”. The article presents a career guidance project based on the program “Perspective: Your Path to Success” and implemented in Vologda on the basis of the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The uniqueness of the program lies in keeping a diary “Turn on 35!” The concept of which includes three sequential and complementary blocks: motivation, self-knowledge, resource map. The first block of the diary is devoted to the motivational component in choosing a professional path. The second block is aimed at self-knowledge and compilation by students of an individual “selfie screen” reflecting the inner world. The third block is a resource map of the region, which consists of up-to-date information about enterprises and organizations of the Vologda region, about the prospects for employment and career growth in the region. It is this aspect that determines the scientific novelty of the work. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that a similar project can be applied in other regions interested in highly effective development and preservation of human resources.

Abstract:
Creativity can be considered a key resource in human development, education and adaptation. It is often defined as the ability to generate novel productions (ideas or work) that are valuable in their context and are also frequently surprising. In the context of the 21st century skills movement, creativity is systematically cited as a life skill, together with critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills. In this article, we explore the role of creativity in vocational guidance and suggest how it may be further integrated into discussions of career counselling. The article first offers a collection of perspectives from the French guidance counselling literature, educational guidance and training perspectives. This material illustrates the pivotally important modern expansion of the field’s mission from helping students making career choices to that of providing individuals of all kinds with the skills and perspective necessary to begin the lifelong process of building their own ‘life project’. In this expanded vision of career counselling, we argue that the understanding and development of an individuals’ creativity becomes even more centrally important.

Abstract:
Since its genesis in vocational guidance, career guidance and counselling has followed the approach developed in the early 1900s in the work of Parsons (1909). Indeed, the profession has been well served by this approach which has come to be known as the trait and factor approach. However, since the time of Parsons the world of work has changed dramatically. We are living in a time of rapid change. Thus society's needs in terms of career guidance and counselling are significantly different. For career guidance and counselling to remain a relevant force in the next century, career guidance practitioners are being challenged to move away from strict adherence to the traditional model toward more client-centred approaches. One of the biggest challenges to existing practices comes from the influence of constructivism. The constructivist world view has been well documented in the field of counselling. In particular, it has influenced the development of solution-focused and narrative approaches to counselling, which are now well-established counselling modalities. However, it is only comparatively recently that the influence of constructivism has begun to be felt in career guidance and counselling. This paper will briefly examine the history and traditions of career guidance and counselling and discuss the changing nature of the world of work and the needs of clients. Following this, it will examine the nature of constructivism, the challenges and opportunities it presents, and its implications for career guidance and counselling practitioners.

School graduates face the problem of choosing a way to prepare for a future profession. Often vocational training in an institution is chosen at random. Half of school graduates are immediately employed without special training and therefore professional career prospects. Modern technologies of career guidance work are designed to provide conditions for a person to realize his attitude to himself as a subject of professional work and behavior, which aims to independently search for professions taking into account their own interests and capabilities, and then the labor market. The purpose of the article is a theoretical analysis of the scientific problem of socio-psychological readiness of high school students to enter higher education institutions, the disclosure of the problem of professional self-determination of the individual in market processes. For this, the government needs to increase the quality of Human Capital, understood as the increase in the average educational level of the population. An educational measure to achieve this goal is to enhance educational and vocational guidance. Abstract:
The article discusses vocational guidance work and its importance in the rapidly developing world for vocational guidance of young people. In the classical sense, this work is aimed at identifying a way of thinking that has already been formed. The article considers methods for determining types of thinking and argues for the possibility of developing a technical way of thinking. There are proposals for developing “engineering” thinking in the framework of work with students in further education programs and a discussion on the age at which the development of technical thinking should begin. There is a detailed description of the author’s experience in the developing engineering thinking in grade 5 schoolchildren within the framework of the network educational project “Engineering”. Assessment data at various points in the project implementation are analyzed. The problems that arose during the implementation of the project are described, their root cause is analyzed, and methods of resolution are proposed. The conclusions show that the way of thinking is not an inherent genetic constant; the way of thinking is formed by the social environment of a person, by the tasks he is solving. It shows the possibility of developing students’ “engineering” thinking through classes in technical programs.

Abstract:
The implementation of any reform in general, and education in particular, includes the monitoring of its implementation. Monitoring as a management method allows achieving the purpose of control over education reform. For the purpose of our research, we have adopted the definition of monitoring as a set of standardized procedures for continuous monitoring of changes in the activities of the studied object and directing these changes to achieve the object’s given development parameters. Thus, the purpose of the article is to illustrate the use of monitoring studies to collect statistical data for the case study, such as the readiness of general secondary education institutions to introduce a specialized school as a part of the third level of general secondary education. During the basic monitoring study of the organization of career guidance work in general secondary education institutions, conducted in October-November 2020, the standardization of the procedure was followed with the help of the Google Forms service. The service was used to develop and aggregate a questionnaire for deputy directors of educational institutions. The questionnaire contained qualitative indicators on the organization of career guidance in educational institutions, namely information on the experience of work organization, its effectiveness, the need to improve the professional level of teachers for the organization of career guidance. The main results of the case study are as follows. Career guidance was organized in the majority (96,9 %) of general secondary education institutions. 69,3 % of respondents rate the efficiency of vocational guidance organized in general secondary education institutions as «high», 14,4 % – as «low» and «lower» (2,6 % and 11,8 %, respectively). The features of the organization of career guidance are revealed, the needs of educational institutions for the modernization of this work are singled out, the request of the respondents for raising the professional level on the research subject is determined. The analysis provided an opportunity to formulate conclusions and recommendations that will be an objective tool for creating a strategy for reforming career guidance, taking into account the needs of the labor market and the abilities and talents of high school students.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to replicate previous findings of a positive association between academic achievement and career maturity in young adolescents. Academic achievement and gender were the independent variables. The dependent variables were vocational identity, need for occupational information, perceived career barriers, and range of occupational aspiration. Gifted students perceived fewer career barriers than students in the regular curriculum. There were two interactions of gender and academic curriculum. First, gifted boys expressed a greater need for occupational information than gifted girls or students from the regular curriculum. Second, gifted boys expressed an interest in a wider range of occupational aspirations than gifted girls. The implications of these findings for program development in the area of career education and guidance are identified.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to present the results of a study on the development of a genetic algorithm to solve the problems of career guidance for graduates of secondary educational institutions and to verify the possibility of its implementation in a computer system. The issue of career guidance for graduates is still relevant, problematic and not fully resolved. According to the authors, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in career guidance systems is a promising area that should be paid attention to. Genetic algorithms are widely used to solve search and optimization problems in various subject areas. The authors propose to automate the process of identifying the tendency of secondary school graduates to a particular type of activity by building a vocational guidance system based on a genetic algorithm.Materials and methods. To identify an individual’s predisposition to a specific type of activity, it is necessary to have a list of requirements and contraindications to the profession. Among the ways of describing the norms and requirements for the applicant-specialist are professiograms, lists of necessary competencies and others. To determine the characteristics of the individual that affect the choice of profession, it is possible to use special tests, activating questionnaires, grades in school subjects. The authors carry out the comparison of personality characteristics and requirements through a genetic algorithm. Genetic algorithms belong to the group of evolutionary methods and are based on the evolutionary theory. Among their advantages are conceptual simplicity and wide applicability, resistance to dynamic environmental changes and the ability to self-organize.Results. The genetic algorithm has been developed, in which as a source of information for creating a new population individual certificate evaluations are accepted. Based on these estimates, an initial population of professions is formed. As a result of crossing a pair of individuals from the parent population, a descendant is obtained whose chromosome consists of the genes of both parents. The selection of surviving specimens is based on the percentage of success in the development of each of the professions in the list and the fitness function. The developed algorithm was implemented in a software system. As experiments showed, the genetic algorithm successfully copes with the task of finding the optimal list of professions according to a given criterion.Conclusion. The results of the study show that the use of genetic algorithms provides convenient mechanisms for introducing artificial intelligence methods into the field of career guidance, which improves the quality of recommendations for choosing a profession.

Abstract:
Drastic and structural changes in the labour market and organizational environment related to the Covid-19 pandemic, rapid technological development, general globalization trends, demographic deterioration and other economic changes signal the need to find new approaches to the classical career management paradigm. Several studies on occupational segregation show that various stereotypes and misconceptions affecting the choice of occupations for young people are still relevant, but changes in the working environment also determine changes in this context. The European Social Fund project “Career Support in General and Vocational Education Institutions” has made huge contributions to the improvement of the career guidance system in Latvia since 2016, developing and approbating career development support action plans, along with informative and methodological materials, as well as educating career counsellors and support specialists, thereby updating their approaches to career guidance and management. This study analysed the views of students and educational staff about current beliefs and stereotypes about career choices and management. Data from the 96 specialists and managers surveyed from different educational institutions reveal that educators have a strong belief in the importance of career stability. A majority believe that career choice is not always a guided process, although most support the involvement of career professionals. The importance of prestigious education and hard work, as well as success in one’s career, is emphasized. The 10th through 12th grade students were surveyed in 2019–2020 in Daugavpils, Dobele, Ogre and Riga general educational schools. In the opinions of these pupils, there is evidence of various stereotypes regarding the choice of profession, as well as the correspondence of career beliefs and convictions within the dynamics of modern working life.

Abstract:
The study was designed to provide the initial validation of the instrument “How cosmopolitan do I think I am?” to assess the propensity to cosmopolitanism in adolescents interested in reflecting about their future career choices. Two studies were carried out to test psychometric requisites of the instrument “How cosmopolitan do I think I am?” Specifically, in the first study, after developing items and examining content validity, the factorial structure and the reliability of the scale were tested. The results showed good fit indexes for a factor structure characterized by three-correlated factors and for a second order-factor structure. This last factor structure model suggests that three hypothesised factors can be considered indicators of a global dimension of cosmopolitanism. In the second study, discriminant validity was evaluated. The results confirmed that the three dimensions of cosmopolitanism are related but distinct from career adaptability (CA) and the tendency to consider systemic challenges to attain sustainable development (TCSC). Overall, the results observed supported the use of the questionnaire in career vocational guidance and counseling activities.

Abstract:
The ortho-subject-oriented approach developed in this paper is aimed at combining the subject-oriented and orthobiotic approaches to personal and professional development. The applied aspect of orthobiosis is the ability to lead a diverse and active lifestyle, achieving the full cycle of human life. The purpose of applying the ortho-subject-oriented approach to vocational guidance is a holistic study of a person’s vital activity, taking into account the interdependence of personal and professional performance. The sample of empirical research consisted of people aged from 14 to 58 years old (N = 420), the clients of the Center for Psychological Counseling (located in Moscow), which provides occupational and vocational guidance and reorientation. The design of the research is based on understanding personal success as a system of dynamic relations between the external and internal world, determined by certain factors. The factor analysis of the data revealed the role of each factor in building images of the real and ideal situation in personal and professional development of the subject. The results of adopting an approach of personal and professional self-determination showed that 90% of clients are ready to participate in short-term advisory training and only 10% are not ready to seriously engage themselves into the self-development activity. They are waiting for ‘directive advice’ from a consultant, thereby demonstrating dependency complex. The application of this approach makes it possible to conduct a self-study (positive self-rethinking) of one’s resources in the process of vocational guidance, helping to build personal life path, and career growth in particular.

Abstract:
Vocational and Technical Education forms a very key foundation in enabling a nation to achieve aspired MDGs and SDG. Kenya as a country highly depends on technical skills to achieve the Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals. However, this can only be achieved through proper and realistic career counseling information provided by the counseling teachers at the secondary school level. According to KCSE results released every year, the majority of the candidates score below grade C+ especially in 2016 and 2017 though above D- which is the requirement for entrance for proficiency level for TVET courses. However, the majority of students do not join Vocational or Technical Education due to a missing link between the natures of career counseling services offered at the secondary school level. Counselors have expectations and premise that the majority of the candidates join training at university levels thus package their counseling information on the few ignoring other students. The objective behind this study was to examine the final results scored by students and the subject choice at secondary school, various career theories, and models that guide career choices formed the foundation for the study. The study used a descriptive design where data was collected through past existing data review from KNEC and one Technical Training Institute over a period of four years. Data was analyzed and presented in tables and figures. Findings revealed that the majority of the candidates (86.92%) of the KCPE candidates scored less than C+ and had no career information on Vocational and Technical Education. The study recommends reengineering of the career guidance in Kenya education system to involve the Ministry, professionals and Human Resource Management experts.

Abstract:
Work based learning (WBL), introduced in Vocational education and training (VET) system, promises to increase economic competitiveness and development of the knowledge-based economy in Latvia. WBL aims to provide knowledge and understanding regarding types of work in a chosen occupation, build specific competencies needed for work and motivate young people to acquire 21st Century skills for smoother transition from education to sustainable employment and development of their professional career. WBL is closely linked to life-long guidance at all stages of decision making: future occupation or workplace, upskilling or reskilling, acquisition of transferable skills or career management skills. Ensuring effective integration of life-long guidance with WBL three elements are essential: engagement before entering WBL programmes; achievement within WBL to encourage participation and successful completion; transition to work after graduating VET supported by personalised follow-up and on-going career support.WBL is a new approach for most European Union Member States (EU MS), ensuring a positive impact on employment perspectives for students by providing skills demanded by employers and an acceptable level of VET quality, allowing the VET graduate to find a job quickly or obtain a well-paid job. The European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for VET (EQAVET) is an EU instrument to improve the systems of Quality Assurance (QA) in VET, based on a quality cycle and on using performance indicators and self-assessment. EQAVET proposes indicators that could be utilized to monitor VET provision and for peer reviews between EU MS. Most indicators serve as VET performance indicators, however some characterize VET impact on the graduate’s transition to work. Analysis of the positive and negative aspects of VET QA indicators could be the basis for development of WBL and support life-long learning strategies.

Abstract:
Abstract.EXPLORA QUESTIONNAIRE FOR VOCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCEThe guidance and career counseling are increasingly needed in our educational system to the extent that career decision making is seen as an increasingly complex process that is affected by personal factors ( questions , immaturity , indecision, preparation and information of our students ) and contextual factors ( situation of the labor market , globalization , increased specialization and elective subjects , modification training routes , creation of new degrees , ...). From this perspective it is necessary that professional counseling and educational and vocational guidance have the precise tools to stimulate the development of vocational maturity of our young people they can get to make effective decisions realistic and mature. The aim of this paper is to present the psychometric characteristics of the EXPLORA, Questionnaire for Vocational Guidance. The EXPLORA assesses six professional fields (Technical- Manual , Scientific - Investigative, Artistic , Creative , Social - Assistive, Persuasive Business - and Office- Management ), which correspond to the types and environmental models of the theory of Holland ( 1997) , taking into account the interests , skills and personal characteristics of the individuals . In order to assess its psychometric properties was applied to a sample of 3570 subjects from different educational levels. The reliability of the scales measured by Cronbach ‘s alpha coefficient ranged between 0.92 and 0.94 . The different procedures used to test its construct validity and criterial evidence the suitability of the instrument to the theoretical model on which it is based. The results allow us to conclude that this instrument has sufficient scientific and technical assurance processes for application in orientation and vocational counseling.Keyword: Vocational interest assessment, vocational guidance, vocational counseling, career decision making, vocational choiceResumen. Abstract:
The social value of Computer Studies as a subject, which teaching should contribute to solving the problem of successful targeting of professional self-determination of schoolchildren on the most urgent in society, the specialty of IT industry, is extremely high. Therefore, an integral part of the professional training of future teachers of informatics in higher educational institutions should be their preparation for the career guidance of pupils on the IT specialty. Based on the results of scientific and pedagogical research of scientists, one can single out general principles of the same preparation. Such principles reflect the current general-didactic approaches to the methodology of the training of future teachers of informatics and have somewhat consistent content. The general principles include consistency, continuity and regularity; scientific and actuality (knowledge and professional skills); systematic; connection theory with practice; the unity of scientific and educational work; consciousness, activity and self-determination of students. At the same time, developed in the writings of scientists, psychological and pedagogical principles of training future teachers to work with career guidance of pupils are extremely generic meaning and direction, do not address the specifics of specific professional areas of vocational guidance, trends of modern development. The purpose of the article is to justify the content of specific principles of preparing future teachers of informatics to career guidance of pupils on IT-specialty. The special principles of the preparation of future teachers of informatics to the career guidance of pupils on IT-specialty reflect as the features of the school subject «Computer Studies» in terms of career guidance, as a specificity of the IT-industry as a sphere of professional orientation. In our opinion, such can include the principles: axiological orientation, integration, prognostics, innovation, and reliance on the own practical experience. Principles of preparation are guidelines for determining the content, means, forms, methods of organizing such training. The above principles should be placed on the basis of constructing a model for the preparation of future teachers of informatics for career guidance work with pupils on the ITspecialty in the system of higher pedagogical education.

The situation on the labor market and its changes over the years are crucial for vocational guidance and lifelong learning. Appropriate support from a specialist, parents of an apprentice and teachers can lead to future educational and professional success. Young people think about self-realization, development, and success; they notice that the course of a career in line with their assumptions depends on getting to know their strengths and weaknesses. The main task of career counselors is to help in choosing the further path of education, which is why their role is so important in the life of young people. The article deals with the reality and ideal model of a career advisor and shows the attitude of young people towards a specialist.
