Abstract:
Initially administered in 1961, the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) was the first paper-and-pencil measure of vocational development. The present research revised the CMI to reestablish its usefulness as a succinct, reliable, and valid measure of career choice readiness, with a few theoretically relevant and practically useful content scales for diagnostic work with school populations up to and including Grade 12. The new Form C was produced by combining rational organization of item content with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In the end, CMI Form C provides a total score for career choice readiness, three scale scores reflecting career adaptability dimensions of concern, curiosity, and confidence, and a score reflecting relational style in forming occupational choices. Initial evidence supports the face, construct, and concurrent validity of the CMI scores as indicators of career choice readiness.

Abstract:
The study investigated psychosocial correlates of career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto metropolis. The population of the study was all 1,298 teachers in 25 public secondary schools in Sokoto metropolis. The sample size of 297 teachers was selected using proportionate random sampling technique. Three instruments were used for data collection. They include an adopted version of Jung’s Typology Test (16Personality Questionnaire) to measure personality type. The instrument was validated by experts in counselling and measurement at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and co-efficient of 0.68 was returned for the instrument when it was tested for reliability. The second instrument as Bakare’s Vocational Interest Inventory (VII) that was used to measure vocational interest of the respondents and its validity and reliability were obtained and documented by Bakare, The third instrument was Tambawal’s (2001) Career Maturity Inventory Attitude Scale (CMIAS) used to measure teachers’ career maturity which was validated and its reliability was obtained by Tambawal. Three research hypotheses were formulated and tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Co-efficient, and Multiple Regression analysis at 0.05 level of significance. The study found significant relationship between career interest and career maturity of secondary school teachers, but found no significant difference between personality and career maturity of secondary school teachers. The study recommended that Sokoto state chapter of Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) should, on a regular basis, organise seminars, workshops and symposia for teachers to furnish them with information on the types of personality that fit different careers and how they can manage their personality to grow in their chosen careers.

Abstract:
A descriptive study aimed in describing the career maturity of the 10th-grade students at one private high school in Jakarta. The study participants were 49 people consisting of 29 male students and 20 female students. The age range of participants is 15-16 years old. Participants in this study still have difficulty planning their studies and future careers. These conditions indicate students have not reached career maturity by the stage of career development. Having a career maturity is one of the essential for students with regards to planning their further study and future career. This study used the Modified Indonesian version of the Career Maturity Inventory (hereinafter referred to as CMI) and group interviews. The CMI measured the dimensions of consistency, realistic career choice, competence in making careers decision, and attitudes on making a career decision. Based on the quantitative data processing shows that 28.9% of 10thgrade students have a high level of maturity. However, from group interviews, the students shared that they still had doubts about their abilities and did not yet explore more about the university major they chose. The study concludes that most respondents who have maturity but are still less skilled in planning and making career decisions. The results of the study can be used as a reference for developing counselling guidance programs for 10th-grade students.

Abstract:
The Career Development Inventory and Holland's Self-Directed Search were administered to 89 Year 10 students. There were no significant differences in attitudinal career maturity between Holland's work personality types, but differences in cognitive career maturity were significant, and closely replicated the patterning obtained by Jones, Hansen and Putnam (1976), in which Investigative types had most career maturity and Realistic types had least. However, when educational achievement was used as a covariate in the relationship of cognitive career maturity and Holland type, there were no longer significant differences. A discussion is made of whether Realistic types are really less career mature, or whether measures of career maturity are inappropriate for Realistic types due to the confounding of other variables.

Abstract:
The main thrust of this study was to examine and investigate whether relationships exist among vocational interest, attribution and career maturity among teachers in secondary schools of Sokoto state. Some research questions raised were: Is there any relationship between vocational interest and career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state: and is there any relationship between vocational interest and attribution of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state? Some null hypotheses generated for the conduct of the study were that: there is no significant relationship between vocational interest and career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state and there is no significant relationship between vocational interest and attribution of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state. The study used the correlational survey methodology for237 subjects drawn from the total population by means o f simple random sampling technique. Data for the study was collected with the use of an adopted version of Bakare 's Vocational Interest Inventory, an adopted version of Olomolaiye's Self Other Motivation Scale and an adopted version of Crites' Career Maturity Inventory Attitude Scale. Some major findings of the study were that there is a relationship between vocational interest and career maturity and also that there is a relationship between career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state. Some of the recommendations made were that the Ministry of Education in Sokoto state and the teachers themselves should embark on developing both internal and external inspiring factors toward the general development of the teachers' career maturity thus leading to sound academic effectiveness and that the state Ministry of Education should look for all possible ways to develop teachers' interest and attribution which will eventually enhance the realization of positive and efficient self-esteem, self-efficacy, self-concept and self-fulfillment which are necessary ingredients in career maturity etc.

Abstract:
The research aims to measure secondary school students career maturity level. The research also attempts to find out whether those variables are related to other variables such as gender and educational stream. A total of 1060 respondents from 106 regular daily national secondary schools in Terengganu have been identified as research sample and they are selected through systematic random sampling process. This survey type of research uses a set of questionnaire and interview protocol. The questionnaire comprised three sub scales: (i) Personal information and student involvement in career guidance and counseling programme, (ii) Career Maturity Inventory. The alpha value for career maturity is 0.92. Data had been analyzed using descriptive analysis i.e. frequency, percentage, t-Test, mean, and standard deviation. Besides, inferential analysis such as ANOVA and linear regression is also applied to test research hypothesis. The result indicates that in general career maturity among the students ranking from low to medium level. It has also found that students’ career maturity are significantly different based on gender and educational stream. However, there is no significant difference between the students’ career maturity based on race. The report concludes although career guidance and counseling programme activity plays important role in the development of the two variable. The findings have important implications for development of career guidance and counseling programme in schools. Key Words: Career Maturity, Career Guidance, Career Counseling Programme. Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to implement a systematic career coaching program for medical students and to evaluate its effectiveness. Methods: First-year medical students of Konyang University College of Medicine took part in the FLEX Mentoring II: Career Coaching Program from September to December in 2016 and 2017. This program included 16 weekly sessions, comprising a total of 32 hours. The students took the Career Readiness Inventory before and after the program, as a pre- and post-test of the program. Data from 100 students were used (46 students in 2016, 54 students in 2017) for the evaluation. Results: Medical students’ career readiness pre-test was rated as medium. In particular, many students were at a low level in terms of ‘support from colleagues and peers’ (53.0%), ‘career decision’ (48.0%), and ‘efforts for job preparation’ (60.0%). After 16 sessions of a systematic career coaching program, their career readiness level showed a significant increase except for ‘career decision’ (t= 4.242, P= 0.001) and ‘independence’ (t= 0.731, P= 0.466), a sub-factor of ‘career maturity.’ Conclusion: The career readiness level of medical students was not sufficiently high. However, a semester of educational training in a systematic career coaching program helped the students to be better prepared for their career. In particular, the significant reduction in the ‘career decision’ variable after the program can be interpreted as indicating that the students changed their behavior to explore and approach their career more seriously and carefully, which also underscores the need for the implementation of career coaching programs in medical schools.

Abstract:
This study used a sample of 2173 high school students, enrolled in Years 8 to 12, to develop a 33-item shortened form (CDI-A-SF) of the Australian version of the 72-item Career Development Inventory (CDI-A). The long form of the CDI-A has been criticised for its length, difficulty and repetitive nature. The CDI-A-SF was devised with reference to content coverage and statistical criteria. Factor analysis of the short form indicated that, at the item level, subscale items loaded on their respective factors, and at the subscale level, the attitudinal and cognitive subscales loaded on the appropriate factors. Strong correlations were found between the CDI-A-SF and the CDI-A at the subscale, composite scale and total scale levels. Internal reliability coefficients for the CDI-A-SF at all levels were satisfactory to good. Initial validity for the CDI-A-SF was demonstrated by associations in the expected direction with career decidedness, self-esteem and decision-making self-efficacy, and by age and gender differences in the expected directions. The CDI-A-SF shows promise as a measure of career maturity where it is not possible or inappropriate to use the full version, although further research needs to replicate the findings and further test its validity.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to develop and test the psychometric properties of the Croatian paper-and-pencil and Internet versions of the Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ). The CDDQ is based on the theoretical taxonomy of difficulties in career decision-making and comprises three major clusters of difficulties: Lack of readiness, lack of information, and inconsistent information that are further divided into 10 specific types of difficulties. The paper-and-pencil version and the Internet version were filled out by 451 and 568 high school students, respectively. Both versions of the Croatian CDDQ showed to be reliable and structurally equivalent measures. A hierarchical cluster analysis and confirmatory factor analysis generally supported the three-cluster classification system of career decision-making difficulties, with the exception of the Dysfunctional Beliefs Scale that was not significantly associated with any of the other scales. The associations between the CDDQ Scales on the one hand, and two measures of career maturity—Student Career Construction Inventory and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale—were moderate and negative and thus supported the concurrent validity of the CDDQ. The results suggest revising the dysfunctional beliefs subscale or using the CDDQ without this scale in counseling practice.
