The interrater reliability for three raters scoring the Career Ability Placement Survey (CAPS) was measured using results from 35 vocational rehabilitation patients and 23 volunteers. The Manual Speed and Dexterity (MSD) subtest, which requires a great deal of qualitative judgement in its scoring, had excellent interrater reliabilities for three raters (.9839), two raters (.9760), and one rater (.9531). Therefore, the judgmental scoring of the MSD subtest does not interfere with the interpretation and clinical usefulness of the CAPS.
