Abstract:
Recent fieldwork in the Chinese province of Zhejiang revealed new insights into the taxonomy of the genus Carex in this area. Carex honglinii, a new species of Carex sect. Confertiflorae, is described. It differs from C. pseudodispalata in having perigynia broadly obovoid, contracted into a ca. 0.5‒0.7 mm long beak at the apex, and staminate scales acuminate. Carex nemostachys var. subglabra (sect. Confertiflorae) is raised to specific rank and combined as C. subglabra. Eventually, a new subspecies of Carex scopulus (subsp. aristata; sect. Mitratae) is described. This new subspecies differs fr

We review assessment-of-need and eligibility frameworks for public home-care benefits (in kind or in cash) in European countries and regions, and show that coverage of formal LTC systems is significantly aff

Abstract:
Distance spanning solutions in healthcare and social care are rapidly increasing in all the Nordic countries. Healthcare and care are offered in people’s homes based on their own needs. Digitalisation and remote service solutions are important prerequisites for maintaining the quality of the Nordic welfare model. But what are the sustainability impacts of these services? The Nordic region has set the ambitious goal of becoming the world’s most sustainable and integrated region by 2030. Distance spanning solutions in Nordic health care and care are closely aligned with this vision and each stra

Abstract:
Background Gender-diverse patients (GDP) face barriers in healthcare, including discrimination and limited access to preventive care. Nursing curricula often lack GDP health content, leaving students underprepared to provide equitable care. This QI project aimed to improve RN-BSN students' self-efficacy and comfort in caring for GDP by integrating an educational module into their coursework. Methods A literature review revealed the need for increased education on GDP healthcare needs. The Third Five-Year Plan (1961–66) aimed at reducing the crude birth rate in India to 25 per 1,000 population by 1973, however this goal has not been achieved. Several other demographic goals were set later, to be achieved by specified years, but they were deferred or revised. One major reason for the failure to achieve these goals was thought to be the lack of adequate infrastructural facilities for the family welfare program, thus it was decided to improve the institution–population ratio. The primary objective of this study is to assess the quality of interaction between clients and provide

Health Care Workers (HCWs) are the backbone of Ontario’s COVID-19 pandemic response and are a key vaccination priority group. About 80% of Ontario HCWs intend to receive COVID-19 vaccine.1 Challenges include the logistics of delivering the vaccine to this mobile and diverse group and improving vaccine confidence in the remaining 20%. These challenges can be overcome by allaying safety concerns and highlighting personal benefits; tailoring messages to factors associated with lower intention (e.g. age, gender, ethnicity and work setting); employing trusted leaders to set the tone and peers to bu

Abstract:
This paper studies the effect of ambulatory and hospital coinsurance rates on HACSC among individuals with private insurance in Chile. During the last decade, Chile's private health sector has experienced a dramatic increase in its hospitalization rates, growing at four times the rate of ambulatory visits (see graph 1). Such evolution has raised concern among policy makers, interested in promoting more preventive services, and a major use of ambulatory care. The growth on the prevalence of chronic diseases has also set up the alarm. A burden disease study made in 2007 shows that 84% of the tot
