Background. Import of medical supplies is common, but limited knowledge about import costs and their structure introduces uncertainty to budget planning, cost management, and cost-effectiveness analysis of health programs. We aimed to estimate the import costs of a tuberculosis (TB) program in Uzbekistan, including the import costs of specific imported items. Methods. We developed a framework that applies costing and cost accounting to import costs. The Zarnick’s strip theory, which divides the vessel’s hull into equal lateral sections, is used to study the applied forces on the vessel, and a MATLAB code is provided based on it. The cellular mechanisms that ensure the selectivity and fidelity of secretory cargo protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi are still not well understood. The p24 protein complex acts as a specific cargo receptor for GPI-anchored proteins by facilitating their ER exit through a specialized export pathway in yeast. In parallel, the p24 complex can also exit the ER using the general pathway that exports the rest of secretory proteins with their respective cargo receptors. Abstract The effect of 25°C holding time of A572 in simulated SO2-CO2-O2-H2S corrosion environment of the upper deck of cargo oil tank was investigated by weight loss, SEM, XRD and electrochemical measurements. The results indicated that the corrosion behavior of A572 was general corrosion and the average corrosion rates increased sharply at first then increased slowly with the extension of 25°C holding time. When the 25°C holding time increases from 0h to 1h, the corrosion process is controlled by the electrochemical progress and the protection of the rust layer is weak. However, when the 25°

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is quickly developing with the objective of transporting passengers and cargo in urban areas using electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (EVTOLs). This paper presents the process developed to design and optimize the noise control treatment in EVTOLs. The process leverages CAE simulation models to predict the acoustic performance inside the aircraft due to the propellers acoustic noise sources and the turbulent flow around the fuselage during cruising. The model includes a representation of the noise control treatments modeled as multi-layer poro-elastic mater

Abstract Trailer tanks are frequently used to transport various types of chemicals to the user. Some of the corrosion problems encountered in trailer tanks are complicated by the wide variety of types of exposure. Stress corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steel tanks due to the chloride content of the product has been a very serious problem in the industry. An educational campaign to encourage operators to clean and dry the tanks immediately upon unloading has been very helpful in facilitating economical transport of many products which would otherwise cause corrosion or stress corrosi

Abstract Marine coating systems installed aboard commercial and military vessels are exposed to extremely aggressive environmental conditions during maritime operation. A key element in prolonging the useful life of any ship, both commercial and military, lies in the selection and installation of cost-effective corrosion control methods and materials at newbuild, followed by an effective painting and preservation program to minimize the corrosive effects of operating in a marine environment, extend the service life and maintenance requirements of the installed systems, and thereby reduce the t

Regional Air Mobility (RAM) focuses on building upon existing airport infrastructure to transport people and goods using innovative aircraft that offer a huge improvement in efficiency, affordability, and community-friendly integration over existing regional transportation options. These aircraft, which typically carry less than 20 passengers or an equivalent weight in cargo, are flexible in terms of where they can take off and land, even using existing runways and infrastructure to maximize compatibility with today’s airports. This project examines the feasibility of RAM supporting high-speed
