Den svenska alternativrörelsen frodades under 1960- och 1970-talet och introducerade för det svenska folket en rad alternativa tankar om hur ett samhälle kan se ut. Rörelsen ifrågasatte tidigare givna auktoriteter och lyck­ades på det viset väcka den politiska debatten om bland annat miljö, jämställdhet och utrikespolitik. I denna uppsats har vi undersökt två av Carl-Johan Vallgrens romaner, varav en är en genrelös sådan (med detta menar vi en roman som inte är förankrad i gängse normer vad gäller genrelitteratur) och den andra en kriminalroman. Romanerna i fråga är Den vidunderliga kärlekens historia (2002) och Skuggpojken (2013). Syftet med undersökningen är att titta på språkliga skillnader i dessa böcker. I den här uppsatsen utgår vi från romanen Kunzelmann och Kunzelmann av Carl-Johan Vallgren. Vi analyserar den för att ta reda på hur den förhåller sig till det postmoderna samhället, och även hur postmodern romanen i sig är. I analysen använder vi oss av en dekonstruktivistisk metod där vi utgår endast från texten och inte författaren, och vi lutar oss på teorier om postmodernism samt queerteori. The aim of this study is to examine the use of famous historical or fictional persons in place branding. It seeks to analyze the images of places that are produced, and the representations of persons that are used in branding practices. Largely this use is located within a tourist discourse, begging the question how tourists take part in the shaping of these cities. In sum, the study aims to examine constructions of the past and the present, as well as representations of gender. Almqvist’s Drottningens juvelsmycke (The Queen’s Diadem), based on queer theory, by using Judith Butlers’s Gender Trouble. As an alternative to the Swedish, gender determined, feminine pronoun ”hon”, which has been used by earlier critics concerning the main character of the book, ”hen” is proposed.
